The engine failed under with under 100,000 miles on the car. It dies going under 20 miles per hour. This is a safety issue because it will die anywhere and can cause wrecks due to sudden failure. The vehicle was inspected Stivers Hyundai, and they could not determine what caused the failure. The problem was confirmed with the same dealer. There were no warning lamps or signs prior to the failure. Beneath, I am reporting the issue on the date it first occurred, though it has occurred multiple times since.
Unknown cause vehicle stalls and stutters randomly and skips while driving. Stalls when at a stop randomly and when car is restarted tachometer does not register that car has been restarted.
The headlights randomly turn off or switch between high and low beams. This is dangerous especially at night because high beams can impair another driver's vision or having the lights turn off completely makes me unseen on the road. My car is available for inspection upon request. When I have gone online, I have seen other Hyundai customers have experienced the same thing.
When driving the car shuts off. The dash lights come on oil battery check engine. Once I stop and put the car in park and restart it it will start right back up. I will die anytime and anywhere. I've been on the highway and it just stops. It does it multiple times before I get to were I need to go. I was almost hit by a semi in traffic doing 40 because it died in the lane
My car's engine had damaged engine seals and was leaking oil. Also, when I accelerate it seems to be very forceful and the gears don't change well, they seem to be stuck. I had to take the front axle in for repair since something seemed to break. Also in the second or third year I had to take it under warranty since I had problems with the brakes and the sensor was damaged. The button to raise and lower the window does not work.
My vehicle is just over 80k miles and has received regular maintenance services. Inspection available upon request. My engine would rattle during idle, stopped at a light, and sounded as if the RPM were increasing. I would have to turn my car off then back on for it to stop. No engine or warning lights. As this became more frequent, I also noticed a very intense shaking coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle while driving on the highway. The shaking was most intense as the car accelerated from 2k-3k RPM. It felt like I could have lost control. On 11/29/22, my car was towed to a repair shop because the engine would stall when I started my car. After examination they recommended I take it to a Hyundai dealer, determined the engine may need replaced and informed me of other recalls from similar models. When the vehicle was brought to the Hyundai dealer, they stated they could not replicate the issue - the engine would start without stalling - but they also speculated my problem was from a loose cable, and attempted to send my car home with me the same day. It is important to note that the battery cable was examined and was connected prior to bringing it in to the dealer. My car is not under recall so my request was taken lightly, they stated I had no engine issues. I pressed for them to address the rattling of my vehicle, for which they then told me I had a leak in my front left axle. Axle was repaired and car brought home. My car drove for about 212 miles before it started stalling again with multiple attempts to start it. When I was able to successfully turn the engine over, I drove it back to the Hyundai dealer on 1/02/23. They found no codes but determined the crank sensor needed replaced. After replacement, they informed me my vehicle still “acted up” once, so they have held onto the vehicle for the past month, letting it sit and occasionally test driving it. Still no answer to this irregular issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, she heard a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the noise was intermittent at first but had become almost constant and would occur at various speeds. The contact stated that she recently saw white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. Additionally, the engine was revving high when started in the morning. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V226000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a loss of motive power, and the vehicle was difficult to steer. The ABS light, traction control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and steering wheel warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and has not been repaired. The contact also stated the vehicle was taken to the mechanic for an oil leak 3 times, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Brakes make loud noise sometimes when backing out of driveway and am aware of fire hazard recall due to leaking o rings
The transmission has a TSB and I took it to the dealership and the service tech told me there are over 20 customers that have the same issue with the transmission jerking very hard and accelerating while taking off from 1st in automatic transmission also the car would just shut off while driving and you have to pull over and it starts up and was advised don’t get a used transmission because all of them are having the same issues also they have over 20 transmissions on back order I took the car to the Hyundai Elantra dealership on Blackstone ave here in Fresno ca
Power steering locks up while driving at high speed, could not turn wheel. Took a picture once slowed down to 20mph. Turned car off and on and was able to continue driving. Attempted to make a 3 pt turn to park, steering locked up again.
I rear ended another vehicle going 60, I slowed down as much as possible however the seat belt did not lock, the airbags did not go off & the vehicle skid. The vehicle was taken to a lot by my insurance for evaluation.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact stated that he was able to navigate the vehicle off the roadway. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not covered under recall or warranty. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the gear shifter only operated in second gear (D2) and the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that the shifter locked Mr. Transmission where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
The low-pressure oil light flickers at idle and then stalls the engine. This often happens at intersections while waiting for traffic to clear and then the car shuts off. The oil pressure has been tested and is at proper pressure. Additionally, the oil sending switch has been replaced. At this time the vin shows the engine is not eligible for manufacturer recall. It is my understanding that the engine shut off is by design as to preserve the engine from seizure. However, the root of the issue needs to be addressed as it is a major safety concern if the engine stops during idle in a busy intersection.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the dealer to be diagnosed and the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,100.
The tire exploded while in the trunk of the car on 7/27/22 around 6:45PM. The tire says it was made in France. The US pat appears to be 3838726. Also has a RH 476 or maybe it is RH 475. Tire size: T 125/80 R 16. Also says 97M. It is a tubeless tire.
The Hyundai Electra 2011-2013 were recalled for air bag issues with #13V115000. I have a 2015 Hyundai Electra and the air bag light came on. Hyundai said the problem was the same issue as the older cars but the recall did not cover the 2015s. Please expand review to expand the recall. Thanks, [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Brake lights stay on constantly - even when vehicle is off. If driver is unaware of their brake lights being stuck in an on position can cause an accident very easily.
My brake stop pad broke, causing my brake lights to remain on constantly unless the fuse was pulled. This caused battery drain and safety issues on the road. This issues appears consistent with the recalls for the 2013 and 2014 Hyundai models with stop pad recalls.
The deterioration of the brake pedal stopper pad while driving leaving the lights illuminated and was almost rear ended.
The brake pedal stopper pad had deteriorated and crumbled onto the floor mat. The brake lights stayed on continous without pushing the brake pedal. The cruise control stopped working and the shift lever could be moved without depressing the brake pedal. The brake light switch stayed extended even when I wasn't applying the brakes. I tried to contact Hyundia case number19874192 and told them because they had recalled prior year cars elantra and sonata for same brake pedal stopper pad deteriorating. I am not making any progress through the corporate or dealer rep. Told the recall which started in November 2017 was for vehicles 2013 -2014 even though I have the same deteriorating part. No warning lamps or lights, defective part was diagnosed through local auto parts store.
The car engine started just cutting off while driving. There is no warning except for the engine, oil and battery light comes on. The dash lights and radio remain on with no engine. I have to brake and put the car in park to start the engine back up. It may do this several times before I get to my destination. I've had it looked at and diagnosed at 3 places and none can find what is wrong. The 3 lights only come on when engine stops. The car has about 53,000 miles.
Hyundai blue link not working and also was told that older model support is being discontinued which severely impacts value and selling points of the vehicle as well as some great safety features such as GPS tracking , collision information and remote start among others including Hyundai roadside assistance I believe a recall should be made to get a blue link module installed in all affected vehicles 2012-2016 models of cars as the technology was available then to support the new telecommunications but they neglected to add it to the affected vehicles thus impacting major aspects to the vehicles
Car stutteres than stalls especially near time of oil change , oil light flashes when going moderate to low speeds and than it stutters and the engine cuts and the engine light , oil light and battery light come on if engine not started right away the power brakes and steering also die making it a dangerous situation especially on a highway happened many times between 2020-2022 but it has been getting worse happening 4 times just today 4/21/2022 Engine type NU 1.8L Car make and model:2015 Hyundai Elantra Limited
i only have 4,100 miles on my vehicle. several months ago i was driving and i could not go over 40 mph, even putting the pedal to the floor. NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON, could not find the transmission plug to check that fluid. brought to the dealer even though vehicle was running okay several days later to find out why this happened. their machine did not pick up anything wrong. i only do city driving so i rarely go over 40 mph. dealer blamed bad gas. could it be possible that because i hardly ever go over 40 the vehicle put itself in limp mode. dealer did not check my transmission fluid even though i asked them to. the us postal service sends me pics of the mail i will receive for that day. around june 14 2022 it showed a letter from 2015 hyundai elantra official business penalty for private use 300 important vehicle information address change? please contact our customer service dept- can you please send me that letter
Engine stalled while going at-speed on major highway; high risk of crash if not restarted in time. Continuous repeating stalls. Hyundai inspected car twice; failed to fix the problem on the first attempt, refused to replace engine alleging that maintenance was negligent due to residue inside motor. Hyundai did not report any residue on the first inspection, and likely did not inspect engine thoroughly when stalling was initially reported to their mechanics. Odd noises from engine present for months prior to stalling.
Car shuts down while driving. Usually as I slow down to turn, stop or change lanes. Very scarey.
When stopped at a red light or in traffic, (on many occasions), my car will suddenly surge and accelerate. It's leads no many near rear end collisions. Sometimes it leads up to my engine stalling. Also have shuddering (like it wants to die) when driving on freeway. The re has been to many incidents to keep track of.
Hyndai performed a service campaign to enhance their vehicle software to better detect abnormal engine noise. Since the campaign, this vehicle has had 3 instances in 8 weeks where the P1326 Knock Signal error code was detected. Per Hyundai's Service Campaign bulletin, this code indicates engine bearing failure. When the code is detected, the check engine light flashes and the engine is limited at 2000 rpm. This has occured while driving at highway speed in heavy traffic, and there is a significant safety risk due to the vehicle's sudden and unexpected deceleration which creates a high chance of being hit from behind. Hyundai has repeatedly treated this error code as sensor and electrical problem replacing electical components, clearing the code, and allowing the vehicle to be returned to service as if normal. However, per their service campaign, the failure is due to faulty engine bearings. This action of not correcting the mechanical problem has created multiple chances of potential collision and injury.
Vehicle stalled while driving in the middle of road with on coming traffic. Failed transmission 6 yr Hyundai Elantra with 69,857 miles 2015 purchased in May 2016. Inspected by dealership Wayne Mazda, Wayne NJ. Since early October 2021 jumping, stalling during gear shifting especially drive and neutral Please be advised my 6yr vehicle with 69,867 miles requires a replacement transmission Purchased from Wayne Hyundai Auto Mall 5/2016 Wayne NJ How can I report and or research my rights as a consumer? Dealership failing to repair or replace due to faulty warranty.
How is it even possible for the transmission to go out at 107,000 miles…… we did everything to keep up with car just to go out with low miles..
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that upon accelerating from a stop light, the vehicle in the right lane abruptly attempted a U-turn, colliding with the contact's vehicle on the front passenger side. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated at the time of the collision, but the ABS warning light had illuminated intermittently before the collision. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact did not seek immediate medical attention but was treated days later for a concussion, a fractured collar, a broken rib, a broken wrist, and two herniated discs. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Malfunction Indicator Lamp sensors, determining that the air bag warning would have been illuminated had the sensors have been functioning properly. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics); the VIN was included but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 40,000.
On about October 3, 2021, around 5 pm ET my car, a 2015 Hyundai Elantra, shut off while driving. I waited a few minutes and it started; I was able to make a u-turn and it shut -off again. I waited a few minutes and my car started. I drove home slowly and ran through a stop sign to keep my car from shutting off again. On October 4, 2021, I had my car towed from my home to Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta. On October 5, 2021, the dealer said because they are not able to replicate the error, they cannot repair my car and to come and pick it up and pay a diagnostic fee. My car has a remaining 10 year/100,000-mile warranty on the engine, transmission and trans axle. I searched the internet and found that my car model and other Hyundai models have shut off/stalled while driving. The dealer service mgr. responded that these internet articles don't mean anything. For safety reasons, I have not picked up the car because I am afraid to drive the car. The dealer states they will drive around and try to replicate the issue, but refuses to repair the car, or provide a loaner or car rental reimbursement during this ordeal. I have filed a complaint with their Consumer Affairs Dept., the Better Business Bureau and the Georgia Consumer Affairs Office. The consumer provided information a lawsuit pertaining to the same year, make, and model of her vehicle.
The paint from a lot of Hyundai Elantra’s are chipping really bad. The paint is no good!
Complete engine failure at 129k miles, 3k miles after purchasing used off Hyundai car dealerships.
THERE'S A KNOCKING ,TAPPING COMING FROM MOTOR, I WAS CROSSING INTERSECTION ACROSS A HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE STALLED A BIT THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO DIE. I RECENTLY FOUND OUT THERE WAS A CLAIM OUT THAT THE MOTORS WERE DEFECTIVE AS FAR AS PISTONS TAPPING , LOSING POWER. I HAVE CONTACTED ALL I COULD ALL SAME SAME THING , SORRY YOUR WARRANTY IS EXPIRED.I HAVE KEPT UP WITH OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE CAR ONLY HAD ROUGHLY 4,000 MILES ON IT. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER MILES OVER 10000 (IF YOUR A SECOND OWNER )OR 140000 IF YOUR ORIGINAL OWNER. I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM ENTERPRISE CAR DEALERSHIPS THEY BOUGHT IT FROM HYUNDAI. MY ISSUE IS I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT A FAULTY ENGINE UNTIL IT WAS TO LATE. AND THAT WASN'T EVEN FROM HYUNDAI OR DEALERSHIP. IT WAS FROM THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PAPER. THE REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT OF MOTOR HYUNDAI IS OFFERING EXCLUDES PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT HAD NO IDEA AND HAVE EXCEEDED MILES OF THEIR ORIGINAL 100000 MILE WARRANTY. PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT HAD AND HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT THE ISSUES WITH MOTOR ARE AT RISK FOR STALLING OR WHATEVER ELSE BECAUSE WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT PROBLEMS. I'M THANKFUL MY CAR DIDN'T DIE ON CROSSING HIGHWAY/ INTERSTATE WITH TRAFFIC . MY PROBLEMS WITH MOTOR THAT THEY KNEW WAS FAULTY JUST STARTED AT 127,000 MILES OR SO. PEOPLE NEED TO BE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES, HYUNDAI I FEEL ARE TRYING TO COVER UP OR REFUSE A RECALL TO SAVE THEM MONEY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE AT A STANDSTILL AND ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
I HAVE A 2015 ELANTRA THAT DEVELOPED AN ENGINE NOISE AT 135,000 MILES. AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AT A SPEED OF 65, THE ENGINE BECAME EXTREMELY LOUD. I PULLED OVER TO CHECK MY VEHICLE. I PULLED OUT THE DIPSTICK AND IT HAD METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL. THE CAR LOST ALL ABILITY TO MOVE. THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT WORK AND THE VEHICLE WOULD REV ON ITS OWN. I HAD IT TOWED TO A HYAUNDAI DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 1 QUART OF OIL. THE ISSUE WITH THAT, IS MY LOW OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP RAN THE CODES, AND IT SHOWED NOTHING ON THE SCANNER.
I HAVE REPEATEDLY EXPERIENCED STICKING CALIPERS (EVIDENCED BY PARKING BREAK NOT DISENGAGING AT 20,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 38,000) AND EXTREME WEARING OF THE ROTORS. FRONT ROTORS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AT 20,000 MILES, 39,000 MILES. REAR ROTORS REQUIRED RESURFACING AT 20,000 MILES, 39,000 MILES. REAR AND FRONT ROTORS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AT 65,000 MILES. EXPERIENCE SHUDDERING WHILE BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DUE TO ROTORD.
Purchased my car from CarMax in February 2020 as a used vehicle with 30k miles on it and towards the end of 2020 around September I noticed my car paint was literally falling off in small chips and in November a huge chunk of paint fell off my the trunk part of my car. I went to the Hyundai center on Cassatt to see if it can be repaired by warranty and I was informed they couldn't do it but would file a good will claim on my behalf. I waited months for my claim to be processed and it was never done. I filed a complaint with Hyundai Corporate office and after waiting 3 months to hear from them they said they couldn't do anything. I discovered online that there was a lawsuit filed against Elantra for cars that had pearl white paint and it was thrown out. I also discovered there are currently thousands of complaints on Facebook in an Elantra car group where people who recently purchased Elantras within the past 5 years that carried pearl white paint are having the same issues and have also filed a complaint and their complaint is being ignored because Elantra is claiming expired warranty and no recall when they in fact have had recalls on cars with white pearl paint. They are not accepting responsibility for defective paint and they aren't willing to do another recall when clearly there are many people upset about this issue and it's gonna cost people thousands to fix the paint on cars they are still paying for. It's not fair to the customers who spent their money and it's not right and I believe an investigation should be a factor to the complaints of many customers who are left with a huge bill just a few months after buying. No recalls were on my car fax paperwork and I felt deceived by the purchase I made.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY APPROXIMATELY 68 MILES PER HOUR I NOTICED AN ODD SKIPPING IN THE STEERING. EVENTUALLY THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE AND A STEERING WARNING LIGHT AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WE DROVE TO A GAS STATION, TURNED IT OFF AND WHEN IT WAS RESTARTED, THE POWER STEERING RETURNED. THE SKIPPING CONTINUED AND WE HAVE HAD 2 MORE INSTANCES OF THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT, BOTH TIMES AT SLOW SPEEDS WHICH MADE IT INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO STEER. I CALLED HYUNDAI AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT I NEED TO TAKE THE CAR TO GET LOOKED AT BY A CERTIFIED HYUNDAI SERVICE TECHNICIAN. WHEN I REACHED OUT TO THEM, THEY EXPLAINED THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC PAYMENT AS WELL AS ANY REPAIR COSTS SINCE MY WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE ON THIS MODEL.
I NOTICED A SLIGHT TICKING SOUND AT AROUND 63,000 MILES IN MY 2015 HYUNDAI ELANTRA WHILE MY CAR WAS IDLING. I HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED BY AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THEY DETERMINED A KNOCKING/PINGING IN THE AREA OF CYLINDER NUMBER ONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. OIL HAS ALWAYS BEEN CHANGED AROUND 3,000 MILES. THE SOUNDS HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE AND HAS BECOME A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND WITH LOSS OF POWER. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 70,000 MILES ON IT NOW AND THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO FAIL MORE. THE LOUD KNOCKING SOUND IS CONSTANT FROM IDLE THROUGH ACCELERATION. I WAS CURIOUS IF OTHER PEOPLE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE SO I DID SOME RESEARCH. MANY CARS WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE I'M HAVING. IM AFRAID THE ENGINE IS GOING TO SEIZE SOON WHILE DRIVING AND I'M CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS PROBLEM NOW. I DON'T THINK A CAR SHOULD BE DOING THIS AT 70,000 MILES
WHEN MY TURNING LIGHT SIGNAL LIGHT COMES ON IT I'M THINKING IT TIME TO CHANGE THE LIGHT I DID THAT AND THE LIGHT STAYS ON. NOW I REALIZE THIS THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD LAST YEAR WITH MY CAR AND THEY SAID IT'S A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM NOW IT'S DOING IT AGAIN. NOW BOTH OF MY TURNING SIGNAL LIGHT ARE NOT WORKING WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON. BUT ONCE THE LIGHTS GO OFF THE TURNING SIGNAL WORKS AGAIN.
Both of my front power window regulators broke while driving with my children in the car. When they broke I was rolling the window down in June, nothing else. The jazzers is that there was a loud metallic sounding bang, similar to something like a brick or a rock hitting the car, which was enough to make me and my children scream and I of course reacted by squinting or shielding and almost crashed into the person in front of me in traffic the 2nd time, the first one was the drivers side and I was on a parkway in May (one month after the car turned 5 years old) Thank goodness I didn’t but this is a huge hazard that could of resulted in someone getting hurt. I know there are many of these issues and because my car is 6 years old and under 100,000 miles (only 62,000) it doesn’t qualify for warranty coverage. I can’t roll my windows down and I have one window taped up temporarily until I can afford to fix it.
WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, ESPECIALLY IF THE ENGINE IS STILL COLD, I WILL SUDDENLY NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE IS STILL RUNNING. THEN WHEN I SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE LIKE IT'S ALMOST GOING TO DIE ALTOGETHER. THEN IF I TRY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, IT'S ALMOST LIKE THERE IS NO POWER TO DRIVE,OR THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLS, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGINS TO FLASH AND THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON. THE ONLY WAY THEN TO BE ABLE TO KEEP DRIVING IS IF I COMPLETELY STOP THE VEHICLE AND TURN THE IGNITION COMPLETELY OFF AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND THEN IT WILL USUALLY TAKE 3-5 TRIES TO GET THE CAR TO START AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS NEARLY 1-3 TIMES A WEEK, AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IT'S NOT RELATED TO THE ENGINE RECALL THAT THEY ISSUED, EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS TO BE THE SAME EXACT ISSUES THAT IS AFFECTING THE OTHER VEHICLES. THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 20 OCCASIONS WHERE I WAS TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY AND THEN MY VEHICLE DIES OR LOSES POWER AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN OF MINE.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT TODAY. I WAS HIT BY A TRANSPORT TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY DOING AT LEAST 60 MILES PER HOUR. I WAS HIT 3 TIMES, TWICE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE (DOOR AND BACK TIRE AREA) THEN CAR WAS SPUN AROUND AND HIT HEAD ON. THE CAR HAD TO BE DRAGGED IF THE HIGHWAY, EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD WAS ON THE ROAD AND WINDSHIELD CRACKED. THE HOOD WAS LIFTED RIGHT UP AT WINDSHIELD. I AM MORE THAN CONCERNED THE THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WHY DID OUR AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOY??? AFTER SPINNING ACROSS HIGHWAY AND COMING TO A STOP FACING ON COMING TRAFFIC. WE WERE APPALLED AND VERY SCARED. WHY DIDN'T THAT SAFETY FEATURE HELP KEEP US SAFE?
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 HYUNDAI ELANTRA IT STARTED MAKING A RATTLING NOISE FROM THE AREA AROUND THE ENGINE. THIS NOISE EVENTUALLY GREW TO A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. THE KNOCKING NOISE CONTINUED AND I BEGAN TO FEEL IT VIBRATING IN MY STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN GRAND JUNCTION, CO TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN CAME OUT AND AS SOON AS I DESCRIBED IT HE SAID HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN RECEIVING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE ON AND INSPECTING IT HE ASSURED ME THAT THE CONNECTION RODS AND BEARINGS WERE GOING OUT AND THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY ENGINE THAT HAD 50,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS ALSO GIVEN THE OPTION TO ONLY REPLACE THE LOWER HALF OF MY ENGINE FOR HALF THE PRICE BUT THAT PRICE WOULD POSSIBLY EVEN OUT TO AN ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE THE COST OF LABOR WOULD GO UP. I DECIDED TO RESEARCH THIS ISSUE FURTHER AND HAVE FOUND THAT RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND ISSUE BUT MY VEHICLE HAS YET TO BE PART OF THE RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE FOR MY FAMILY AND I AS I HAVE NOT USED THIS VEHICLE SINCE MAY 2020 AND HAVE BEEN TOLD BY HYUNDAI THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN OR WILL DO TO HELP ME BECAUSE IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR MY VEHICLE.
I JUST NEED CHECK CAR ABS OIL
ENGINE HAD A CLICKING NOISE, CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING. BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL DID NOT OPERATE. CAR ROLLED UNTIL IT GOT SLOW ENOUGH TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. *TR
WHENEVER IT RAINS MY TRUNK FILLS UP WITH WATER. I THROUGH THAT MAYBE IT WAS THE LINING ON MY VEHICLE BUT IT IS INTACT. WHEN THE TRUNKS FILLS UP IT GETS SO HIGH THAT IT FLOWS TO THE BACKS SEATS AND SOAKING THEM. IF NOT MAINTAINED PROPERLY IT WILL CAUSE A VERY BAD ODOR AND MOLD. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY.
