MOSTLY SHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR OR BACKING UP , YOU GET A VERY HARD BANG , AS IF YOU HIT SOMETHING. CITY STREET MOSTLY TURNING.
I HAVE BOUGHT ALL MY PARTS NEW AND MY CAR KEEP SHUTTING OFF WHILE IM DRIVING.ON THE ROAD I CAN BE IN TRAFFIC AND IT SHUTS OFF OR AT THE LIGHT AND IT DO THE SAME THING OR I CAN DRIVE LIKE 10 SECONDS IT SHUTS OFF.
WHILE DRIVING NEAR 40 MPH, STEERING PULLS TO THE LEFT DURING ACCELERATION.
THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WORKS OFF AND ON. SOME DAYS IT OPENS AND SOME DAYS IT DOESN'T AND THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE DOOR HANDLE OR THE DOOR ITSELF. FOR THE PAST MONTH IS HAS TOTALLY GAVE UP ON OPENING AT ALL AND THERE IS STILL NO DAMAGE TO THE HANDLE OR THE DOOR.
IN APRIL 2019 THE SUNROOF OF MY 2010 HYUNDAI SANTA FE FLEW OFF. REPLACED AFTER $500 INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE. ON FEBRUARY 21, 2020 WHILE TRAVELING AT AROUND 65 MILES AN HOUR ON I75 NORTH, THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED ON OUR 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. TODAY I SUBMITTED A SEPARATE COMPLAINT FOR THE SONATA. COMPLAINT 11312271. I DECIDED TO FILE BOTH COMPLAINTS TODAY ON BOTH VEHICLES DUE TO THE FACT THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS ACCIDENTS ON THE HIGHWAY AND SOMEONE COULD GET SERIOUSLY HURT.
WHEN TRAVELING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND UPON ACCELERATION THERE'S LOSS OF POWER FOR A SPLIT SECOND, AND THEN IT'S BUMPING REAL HARD. IT CAN BE DESCRIBED AS A BUMPING NOISE, CLUNKING NOISE OR THUMPING NOISE. MORE LIKELY TO HAPPEN BETWEEN 50-70 MPH. ALSO, THE PASSENGER BACK DOOR LOCK HAS BEEN WORKING OFF AND ON. IT FINALLY HAS STOPPED OPENING THE DOOR ENTIRELY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE YET TO DIAGNOSE AN ISSUE AFTER TWO INSPECTIONS. AS OF 7/21/20 THE VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING THESE ISSUES.
I'VE HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED, ALIGNMENT DONE, ROTORS CHECKED, AND IT STILL SHAKES LIKE SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT, AND IT'S SCARING ME, I'M HANDICAP, AND I FEEL LIKE MY FRONT END IS GONNA COME APART OR MY CAR IS GONNA FLIP, WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT'S DOING JUST FINE BUT WHEN I GO TO PRESS ON MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN MY CAR IS SHAKING LIKE I'M GOING THROUGH AN EARTHQUAKE OR TORNADO, AND IT ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM LIKE WHEN YOU PUSH PUSH THE GAS TO GET SPEED SO YOU COULD JUMP ON THE HIGHWAY IT LIKE JERKS A LITTLE BETTER SHE IS A LITTLE HARD TO BE ABLE TO CATCH UP AND IT'S NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE

BOB KING HYUNDAI (1601 SILAS CREEK PKWY, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27127, (336) 724-2861) STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS CAR, THE TRANSMISSION BANGS HARD WHEN SHIFTING GEARS OCCASIONALLY. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE SHOP 3 OR 4 TIMES BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY TESTED IT AND IT'S FINE. NOW I'M ALMOST OUT OF MY WARRANTY AND I'M AFRAID THEY TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO GO. I READ THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT THIS?
I HAVE A 2010 HYUNDAI SANTE FE UTIL. I BELIEVE I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY "ALL WHEEL DRIVE COUPLER". MY WIFE USES THIS VEHICLE. CURRENTLY WE ARE EXPERIENCING LOUD BANGS THAT FEEL LIKE WE ARE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. IT IS IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN I INVESTIGATED THIS ONLINE I SEE MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I AM WONDERING WHY THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL. I FEEL MY WIFE AND CHILD ARE IN DANGER WHILE RIDING IN THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND PROTECT THE PUBLIC BY CALLING FOR A RECALL WITH THIS ISSUE.

ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION, THE VEHICLE RATTLED AND MADE ABNORMAL NOISES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIDWEST SUPERSTORE (LOCATED AT 1100 E 30TH AVE, HUTCHINSON, KS 67502, (620) 662-6631), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,194.
CAR WOULD NOT GO OUT OF NEUTRAL. SNOW. ESC AND AWD LIGHTS ON.
DRIVING SANTA FE AT 55MPH AND IT SLOWED TO A STOP. TRANSMISION WAS OUT OF GEAR AND WOULD NOT RE-ENGAGE. CAN NOT DRIVE VEHICLE NOW AS IT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR
IN 2013 THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR ACTUATOR MECHANISM WAS REPLACED (WARRANTY). IN OCTOBER 2018, THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR MECHANISM WAS REPLACED, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR ACTUATOR MECHANISM WAS REPLACED. COULD NOT OPEN DOOR FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STARTER FAILED PERIODICALLY. THE STARTER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS TOO MUCH PAINT ON THE NEGATIVE CONNECTOR TO THE ENGINE FROM BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDES. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC RESOLVED THE FAILURE BY SANDING DOWN THE AREA BY THE CONNECTOR TO METAL ON METAL. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PRIDE HYUNDAI AUTO SALES & SERVICE INC (680 HWY 6 W, BATESVILLE, MS 38606, 662-563-5464) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V261000 (POWER TRAIN) IN 2011, BUT IT FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TRANSMISSION HARD SHIFTS DOWN WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY CAUSING LOSS OF POWER. I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO GET KILLED BY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. CONSTANT SLIPPAGE BETWEEN GEARS WHILE MOVING, CAUSING LOUD HARD BANGING NOISES.
ON 6/17/2018 @ APPROXIMATELY 5:00PM WHILE DRIVING MY SANTA FE, I BEGAN TO HAVE SURGING POWER. I ATTEMPTED TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL BUT COULD NOT. I WOULD SLOW DOWN ONLY TO SPEED RIGHT BACK UP AS IF I HAD PUSHED THE RESUME BUTTON, I HAD NOT. I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL HOWEVER MY GEER SHIFTER WAS LOCKED INTO DRIVE & I COULDN'T GET THE SHIFTER OUT OF DRIVE. AT TIMES THE CAR WOULD START TO SLOW DOWN AFTER PU MPING THE BREAKS ONLY TO HAVE A SURGE OF POWER AGAIN. AS I WAS DRIVING, I CAME UP TO A SHARP CURVE & WASN'T ABLE TO SLOW DOWN THEREFORE I ENDED UP ROLLING THE SUV & FURTHER SLAMMING TO A LARGE HILL. I WAS INJURED IN THIS ACCIDENT DUE TO ROLLING MY CAR! THIS HAPPENED BC I BELIEVE THE CRUISE CONTROL GOT STUCK & LOCKED UP MY TRANSMISSION!!! I ALSO COULDN'T TURN THE KEY OFF SINCE THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE.

THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN SHUTTING THE DOOR THERE FOR YOU CAN NOT OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR WITH THE OUTSIDE HANDLE. YOU NEED TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND LOCK THE DOOR BEFORE YOU SHUT IT OR IT WILL NOT STAY SHUT.
SMOKE COMING FROM TURN SIGNAL SWITCH
MY 2010 HYUNDAI SANTA FE LIMITED AWD 3.5L, WITH APPROX. 60,000 MILES, WAS MAKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END WHEN I WENT OVER BUMPS OR ROUGH TERRAIN. A LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE END LINKS GOING FROM THE STRUTS TO THE STABILIZING BAR. TWO SHOCKS WERE LEAKING SO I HAD THE STRUTS (FRONT) AND SHOCKS (REAR) REPLACED ALONG WITH THE END LINKS. ON A TEST DRIVE IT WAS STILL MAKING A CLUNKING NOISE SO I RESEARCH THE HYUNDAI FORUMS FOR POSSIBLE CAUSES. THERE WERE FOUR POSSIBLE CAUSES, ONE WHICH HAD BEEN CORRECTED, THE END LINKS, THE LOWER CONTROL ROD, THE CONNECTION MOUNTS BETWEEN THE FRAME AND THE BODY, AND THE FRONT AND REAR ENGINE MOUNTS. UPON INSPECTING THE ENGINE MOUNTS I FOUND THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTS BOLT, A 12MM X 5 INCH BOLT, MISSING. APPARENTLY WHEN THE CAR WAS ENGINEERED THE BOLT WASN'T SECURED WITH A LOCKING NUT OR COTTER PIN SO WHEN THE NUT LOOSENED AND VIBRATED OFF THE BOLT, THE BOLT ALSO VIBRATED OUT OF THE MOUNT. I ACTUALLY REMEMBER WHEN THIS OCCURRED, AT AROUND 50,000 MILES. I REMEMBER A LOUD BANG UNDER THE CAR AND IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR I SAW A BOLT TUMBLING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I THOUGHT I HAD RUN OVER IT WITH A WHEEL. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE HYUNDAI DEALER AT 56,652 MILES FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND "12-POINT INSPECTION" AND "MULTI-POINT INSPECTION" AND THE MECHANIC DIDN'T DISCOVER THE MISSING FRONT ENGINE MOUNT BOLT. (I FOUND IT MYSELF WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL CAR SHOP FOR THE STRUT AND SHOCK REPLACEMENT.) I THEN WENT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT I DISCOVERED. THE PART NUMBER FOR THE BOLT IS 21920-2B000, AND THE PART NUMBER FOR THE NUT IS 13396-12007K. THERE WAS NO DESCRIPTION AS TO THE SIZE OF THE BOLT, THE THREAD OF THE BOLT AND NUT, NOR WHETHER THE NUT WAS A LOCKING NUT. I HAD THE LOCAL MECHANIC MAKE THE REPAIR WITH A 12MM X 5" GALVANIZED BOLT WITH WASHERS, LOCK WASHER AND A 12MM NYLON LOCKING NUT. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED. THE CONTACT WAS STANDING WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPEN AND HEARD A THUMP SOUND. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. THE CONTACT WAS STRUCK BY THE DOOR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RE-ENTER THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO AS SHE WAS DRAGGED BY THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO STOP ONCE IT CROSSED A MAIN ROAD AND COLLIDED WITH A CURB. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER ENTIRE BODY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT FAILED TO PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN THE CORRECT GEAR. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OUTPUT GEAR OR TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V261000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT CALLED COLONIAL HYUNDAI (2200 WALTHALL CENTER DR, CHESTER, VA 23836, (804) 414-2020) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED FOR THE RECALL IN 2011. THE CONTACT ALSO CALLED PEARSON HYUNDAI (9530 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE RICHMOND, VA 23235, (804) 276-03600) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V261000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT CALLED A THIRD DEALER (WEST BROAD HYUNDAI, 8903 W BROAD ST, RICHMOND, VA 23294, (804) 755-7777) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,801.
TIE ROD AND FRONT SUSPENSION. WHEN TURNING IT MAKES A CLUNKING SOUND . I'VE HAD TO GET SUSPENSION AND TOE ROAD CHANGED 3 TIMES WITHIN 6 MONTHS
IT LOOKS LIKE THE SANTA FE 2010 HAD A RECALL FOR THEIR TRANSMISSIONS FOR SOME OF THE VINS. PERHAPS THEY SHOULD EXPAND THE RECALL TO OTHER VINS AS MY CAR HAS 55,000 MILES ON IT AND THERE ARE SIGNS THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS HAVING TROUBLE. IT HAS BEEN USED LIGHTLY AND NEVER USED TO TOW ANYTHING. I AM THE SECOND OWNER, SO THE 10 YEAR/100,000 IS NOT VALID ANYMORE. I DON' T THINK THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD FAIL AT 55,000 MILES FOR GENTLE DRIVING. I THINK THE RECALL SHOULD EXPAND TO SOME OF THE OTHER VINS.

AS I AM DRIVING MY 2010 HYUNDAI SANTA FE DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT NORMAL SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MY ENGINE STALLS WITH NO WARNING SIGN.. VERY DANGEROUS LUCKILY I WASN'T HIT.. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME THE CAR WENT TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST THE BATTERY AND NOBODY CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON.. SNAP THE PICTURE AFTER EVERYTHING HAPPENED THEN I GET A LIGHT. THANK GOD ME AND MY KIDS WASN'T HIT OR KILLED.
WHEN ACCELERATING LIGHTLY AFTER A FULL STOP (AT A STOPLIGHT EX.) , THE CAR ACTS AS IF THE GAS PEDAL HAS BEEN FULLY DEPRESSED OR "PUNCHED" HARD. THIS CAUSES THE TIRES TO SPIN OUT OR BURN RUBBER.
WHILE DRIVING LAST WEEK, THE ENGINE CUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP AS I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, BUT IT TOOK 3 STARTS TO GET THE ENGINE TO TURN OVER AGAIN. THE VEHICLE DRIVES LIKE IT IS HESITATING. I'VE HAD ALL FACTORY MAINTENANCE DONE AND DEALER CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. JUST HIT 90K MILES. ADDITIONALLY, THE A/C TURNS ITSELF ON RANDOMLY. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE AND THE TECHNICIAN REPAIRED IT WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. IT IS DOING IT AGAIN, AND IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY FOR REPAIR. I'LL BE DRIVING ALONG AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE A/C UNIT COMES ON. ALSO, MY DOORS WON'T LOCK WITH THE AUTO LOCK ON THE KEY FOB NOR WITH THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR PANEL. IT AFFECTS ONE DOOR AT A TIME. I HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR THE LOCK ATTENUATOR TO BE REPAIRED ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR TWICE, REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND NOW THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,868.
ENGINE STALL DURING STATIONARY CRANKING AND DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AFTER SHAKING NOISE HEARD. RELATED TO RECALL 49.
THE TURN SIGNAL "CLICKING NOISE" STARTED WORKING CONTINUOUSLY AND INDEPENDENTLY FROM THE ACTUAL POSITION OF THE THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER AND THE ASSOCIATED LIGHTS ON THE PANEL. ELECTRICAL SMOKE CAME FROM THE STEERING COLUMN FROM THE AREA NEAR THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR HANDLE. I REMOVED THE 10 AMP FUSE TO INTERRUPT THE POWER TO THE TURN SIGNAL AND THE SMOKING STOPPED. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND DID NOT CHANGE UNDER ANY DRIVING CONDITIONS.
ORIGINAL NHTSA REPORT #10621330. ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHILE MAKING RIGHT TURNS. SEVERAL OCCURRENCES IN 2010, SEP 2014, JAN 2015, SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED UNDER RECALL IN MAY 2015. ANOTHER OCCURRENCE IN JUNE 2015. NOW TODAY, MARCH 7, 2017 IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN WHILE MAKING RIGHT TURN. PUT CAR IN PARK AND ENGINE RESTARTED.
I WAS DRIVING OVER A SET OF WELL KEPT RAILROAD TRACKS AT A LOW SPEED WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG. I SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED MY DRIVERS FRONT SPRING BROKE. THIS ALSO DESTROYED MY TIRE FROM THE CAR BASICALLY COLLAPSING ONTO IT WHILE I DROVE TO A PLACE I COULD SAFELY PARK. HYUNDAI REFUSED TO SEE MY CAR UNTIL THE NEXT WEEK SO I HAD MY LOCAL TIRE PLACE FIX THE BROKEN SPRING ALONG WITH REPLACING THE OTHER SIDE AS I WAS NOW TERRIFIED THAT THE SAME THING WOULD HAPPEN ON THE OTHER SIDE. HYUNDAI CORPORATE REFUSED TO COVER MY EXPENSES AS THE LOCAL DEALER DID NOT DO THE WORK. THE TIRE STORE SAID THEY SEE THIS ALL TIME FROM CHEAP CHINESE STEEL USED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHE HAD I BEEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE EXAMINED AS HYUNDAI IN 2011 HAD PUT SOMETIME OF MEMBRANE ON MY SPRINGS TO PREVENT RUST PER A RECALL.
ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY - THE TEMPERATURE OUTDOORS HAS TO BE COOL AND DAMP. SAFETY RISK FOR KIDS AND MYSELF TO HAVE ENGINE STALL. LIGHTS GO OUT AND CRUISE IF ON KICKS OFF. ENGINE WILL RESTART ITSELF, BUT AFTER IT HAPPENS - ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON UNLESS I ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE STALLING HAS HAPPENED FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS, BUT NO ONE CAN FIND THE ISSUE

THIS IS AN ADDENDUM TO COMPLAINT # 10938417 NOW, THE DRL WILL NOT TURN ON AS STATED IN THE PRII0OR COMPLAINT, HYUNDAI SAYS THERE IS A SENSOR IJ THE REAR VIEW MIRROR BUT BOTH THE SENSOR OR REAR VIEW MIRROR ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE RENDERING THE DRL'S AS USELESS AND COULD SUBJECT ME TO A TICKET
WHILE DRIVING ONE MORNING, SUDDENLY THE PASSENGER DOOR JUST OPENED ON ITS OWN. WE COULD NOT GET IT TO LATCH AT ALL. I HAD TO RIDE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED UNTIL WE COULD GET HOME TO GET BUNGEE CORDS TO HOLD IT CLOSED. THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY CITY STREET JUST GOING STRAIGHT. AND AGAIN WHEN WE TURNED, BUT WE ANTICIPATED IT AND HELD THE DOOR SHUT. SO L TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT MORNING (MONDAY), AND THEY SAID IT WAS A DOOR ACTUATOR AND LATCH ASSEMBLY. NO VEHICLE SHOULD EVER HAVE A DOOR THAT CANNOT LATCH! THIS IS A TERRIFYING INCIDENT. WHEN THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART, I TOLD THEM TO FIX THE DOOR WHERE IT WOULD NOT OPEN WHEN DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK THE NEXT DAY. DIDN'T WORK. GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH THE DOOR FLOPPING BACK AND FORTH--ENOUGH TO ALLOW FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THE DOME LIGHT TO REMAIN ON IS NOT SAFE!!! AFTER EXITING THE INTERSTATE DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, I GRABBED THE BUNGEE CORD THAT WAS INSIDE AND HELD THE DOOR CLOSED WHILE I DROVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME ABOUT 35 MPH. I WILL HAVE THREE MORE TRIPS ON THIS INTERSTATE-HOME TONIGHT, TO AND FROM THE DEALER/WORK TOMORROW, AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE REPAIRED. THEY SAY TWO OTHER DOORS ALSO NEED ACTUATORS. ENGINE STOPPED AND ROD KNOCKING STARTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY

(2) 0N 11/12/2016 WE WERE HEADED TO THE STORE STOPPED AT LIGHT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AGAIN WHILE IN DRIVE THAT WAS SECOND INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED. 11/14/2016 THE CAR WAS AT FUTURE HYUNDIA CONCORD CA FOR INSPECTION, ACCORDING TO DEALER NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. IS THERE ANY HISTORY CONCERNING ENGINE SHUTOFF ?
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TOOK TO DEALER, THEY CHECK CODES AND SAID THAT VCM UNIT IS GOING BAD. CAR HAS 54,000 MILES WE ARE ORIGINAL OWNERS. TECH SAID THAT CODE LIGHT COULD BE RESET BUT IF UNIT FAILS CAR WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SLOW FROM WHAT EVER SPEED YOU WERE DOING RIGHT DOWN TO ABOUT 5-10 MPH
OIL PUMP FAILURE AT 90,000 MILES CAUSING MOTOR TO BE REPLACED. HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THERE WERE NO AVAILABLE MOTORS TO REPLACE THE ONE IN MY CAR.
MY CAR HAD A RECALL CAMPAIGN 110 TO REPLACE A STOP LAMP SWITCH IN JUNE 2013. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE SWITCH AGAIN BECAUSE MY CAR WAS NOT SHIFTING INTO REVERSE AND PARK SOMETIMES. THE CAR WAS STOPPED IN A PARKING AREA AND HAD TO BE BROUGHT TO THE DEALER TO GET A NEW SWITCH. I WANT HYUNDAI TO KNOW THEY NEED TO GET BETTER SWITCHES BECAUSE 3 YEARS SEEMS TO SOON TO REPLACE A SWITCH.
IN 2011, 1000 MILES HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION THROUGH DEALER SAME PROBLEM AS LISTED BELOW. NOW 2016 HAVING TO REPLACE ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. LOUD CLUNKING NOISE WHEN YOU LET UP ON GAS OR WHEN YOU WOULD INITIALLY PUT IN REVERSE. WHEN IN PARK IT CONSTANTLY WOULD BE STUCK IN PARK AND COULD NOT SHIFT HAD TO CALL TOWING TWICE FOR THAT PROBLEM. WHICH NEVER COULD BE FOUND. NOW AGAIN REPLACING TRANSMISSION.. CAR CAME TO DEAD STOP WHILE DRIVING DOWN STREET WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP SOUNDED LIKE BOTTOM DROPPED OUT OF CAR AND METAL DRAGGING ON METAL CAR STOPPED SHARPLY AND WOULD NOT MOVE.
PEARL WHITE PAINT FLAKING OFF. ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS CAUSED BY ROCK CHIPS, HOWEVER IT IS EXTREMELY APPARENT THAT THE PAINT IS SIMPLY FLAKING OFF. MOST FLAKING IS QUITE SMALL AT THE MOMENT, HOWEVER TODAY NOTICED A LARGER AREA OVER THE WINDSHIELD. NO ACCIDENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP FROM 25 MPH, A KNOCKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE. IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO GO INTO THE DRIVE AND REVERSE POSITION AND THE ENGINE FELT AS IF IT HAD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE, TRANSMISSION STRIP, POWER TRAIN, AND DRIVE SHAFT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V261000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE COIL SPRING HAS BROKEN AT 60000 MILES. PRIOR SERVICE CAMPAIGN 926 - SPRING PROTECTOR INSTALLATION HAD BEEN PERFORMED AT 8600 MILES. THE BROKEN SPRING WAS FIRST NOTICED AFTER EXPERIENCING LOW FREQUENCY RATTLING NOISE WHILE GOING OVER BUMPS.
