I discovered the vehicle had an internal engine leak after finding that the engine oil was low after manually checking it. There was no warning light that came on to show the low engine. After refilling the oil and driving the vehicle for a couple of days, the engine developed a knock. The vehicle subsequently shut down and will not restart. This occurred while driving and I was unable to have enough momentum to pull to the side of the road safely.

While driving, came to a red light and stopped. When the light turned green, I pushed on the gas peddle and the car went completely black! No lights, no go, no warning, no nothing! It was the middle of afternoon rush hour, when people were getting off of work! No warning lights or problems prior warned me that something could be wrong. Up until that point, it drove smoothly, no issues at all. I had just had a routine maintenance check: oil and filter change, point checks, and anti theft installed, just a few months before, at this same dealership, and was told everything was good. The Hyundai dealership, where I had it towed, told me, after running the diagnostics, the replace engine code came up as the problem. But when I asked the service tech what could have caused it, all he said was, it could be a lot of things. I then asked the service tech as to why I had no warning at all, he responded, it could be a lot of things. They quoted me a cost from $7200 to $8000, not including tax, to replace the engine with a re manufactured engine. Unfortunately, I did not have an extended warranty, but I'm still very confused, angered, and stressed as to why I had no warning what so ever!
unknown==Vehicle suddenly lost heating inside of car---stalled --lost power steering---avoided oncoming traffic---stuck in middle of the road---was able to restart to get home My first thought was t-stat was bad----but no indication of overheating on dash.I proceeded to change t-stat anyway.Upon removal of thermostat I found my coolant was contaminated with oil.It was sludge. An off white sludge that looked like glue. Consulted dealer and was told it sounds like a big job .As I am retired and fighting cancer at this time, there is no way I can afford a large repair bill.Don't know what to do. thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My car has a known oil consumption problem that has not been recalled on the 2014 vehicles. I have been dealing with issue for the 15 months. Getting the run around because call is out manufacture warranty but when problem first started was still under warranty. I have a extended warranty but
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving at approximately 45 MPH on a highway exit ramp, she depressed the brake pedal and the "ABS" and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not slowing and was vibrating while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the brake pedal was very soft while being depressed and the vehicle was stalling. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and replaced the brake seals and other unknown brake parts. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the brake failure reoccurred along with the engine stalling. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The manufacturer has failed to remedy this defect in a reasonable time as it has been 4 months. Current solution is parking away from structures which forces my vehicle to be in the winter elements and thus damaging the vehicle.
Vehicle stopped while driving on the highway at night. No warnings or service lights. Vehicle just recently had an oil change and there were no signs of potential engine failure reported. After towing to meineke to run a diagnostic, I was informed by Hyundai corporate to have it towed to a Hyundai dealer, since they showed I have an extended warranty. After having it towed to Hyundai, it was confirmed again it needs a new engine, but the warranties don't cover it. No one is explaining how a powertrain warranty and extended warranty isn't covering engine failure when that is what it's intended for. Carfax show all proper maintenance conducted on vehicle.
Check engine light came on and was blinking. Had to get it towed. There is an engine recall on my vehicle. Full diagnostics test was run showing faulty engine due to the engine recall.
When driving down the highway a thud was heard. The car was pulled over to the side of the road and smoke was coming from under the hood. The door locks were not working but we were able to manually pull up the lock to open the door. The smoke built up quickly and the car engulfed in flames. This put the driver and passenger in imminent danger. The car has not yet been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The car fire happened 12/02/2023 at 1:30 am.
While driving at 60 mph on the interstate, the engine shut down completely and lost all gas. We were able to coast to an exit, and with our two young children in tow, get a tow truck. Upon taking it to the repair shop, they stated the engine seized and needs an entire engine replacement. We are at 101,000 miles, just past the 100,000 mile warranty. Still waiting for paper documentation from repair shop.
* Unresolved Engine issues * My car no longer feels safe to drive * The problem has been confirmed by a dealer * I'm not sure if the vehicle or component was inspected by anyone outside of the dealership service area. * I wasn't due for an oil change until November 28 however on November 7th, my oil light appeared so I took the car to an auto center near my home which was Goodyear. They found that there was no oil in my tank and tested it for leaks. There were no external leaks. I made an appointment with the dealership and they confirmed an issue with the engine. They made some repair and advised that I drive no less than 1,000 miles and up to roughly 1,025 miles then return for service. I confirmed with the service technician that this engine is under warranty so when I return , I would like to have the engine repaired. . NOTE: I have dealership documents to share if needed. I returned within the required milage at 1,008 miles. As I was headed to the dealer, the service technician called me to say that I had to have an oil change on that day, and then return later after an ADDITIONAL 1,000 miles. My warranty will expire in a little over 3 weeks and I haven't been able to reach the 1,000 mile requirement for their testing purposes. Now that the car hasn't been driving too smoothly and also recently began to be very loud while idling, I don't feel safe driving it. At this point I want Hyundai to exam the engine and repair the engine now before the warranty runs out. Otherwise they aren't really honoring the warranty if they impose obstacles to consumers, denying them their use of the warranty. I've reached out to Hyundai, however I don't know how quickly they will act or if they will acknowledge my letter at all. I'm contacting you in an effort to get assistance in having this engine repaired as soon as possible.Thank you in advance for your assistance .
On 11/17/23, my engine failed with 167,818 miles on the odometer. Luckily, I was not in danger other than blocking a city street during Friday rush hour. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. It was towed to a professional car care facility that did a diagnostics on it. The only warning lamps that were on was the ABS, which are on because the failed rear hub sensors have yet to be replaced (The dealership determined this and was ordering the parts). This 2014 Santa Fe XLE has the 3.3L GDI V6 engine and with all the lawsuits going on over the 2.4L engine (in the Sport model), I find it hard to believe that this engine would not have the same or similar problem. The report (attached) by the mechanic said it had lost 4-5 quarts of oil before it stopped running. I change the oil regularly and have all the records indicating oil changes at 5-7.5k intervals. The contact is being sold for spare parts.
I am writing to provide you with detailed information regarding the engine failure incident that occurred on November 15, 2023, involving my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. The component that failed was the engine itself, which resulted in a sudden and complete loss of power while I was driving at highway speeds. This incident posed a significant safety risk to both myself and others on the road, as it left the vehicle without any operational systems, including power steering. Fortunately, I was able to maintain control of the vehicle and avoid a potentially catastrophic accident. I feel incredibly fortunate that I was alone during this dangerous situation, as it could have been far more perilous had my three children, aged 3, 5, and 10, or my wife, been in the vehicle with me. The problem has been confirmed by a dealer who conducted an inspection and determined that the engine had seized. However, it is important to note that the dealer has refused and denied any repair or assistance in resolving the issue. As of now, the police have not conducted an inspection of the vehicle or its components, and I have not reported this incident to my insurance. Surprisingly, there were no warning lamps, messages, or any other symptoms indicating a problem prior to the engine failure. The failure occurred suddenly and without any prior warning while I was driving in heavy traffic. I consider myself extremely lucky that the engine was not at operating temperatures at the time of the failure. There was visible smoke coming from under the hood with oil spray, but thankfully, there was no fire. I am deeply concerned about the safety implications of this incident and would appreciate any guidance or support you can provide in resolving this matter.
Knock Sensor did its job and heard something in the engine and put the car in "limp mode". Car was "bucking" and would not go above 15mph in Atlanta area rush hour traffic. Barely coasted home. Towed the car to local dealership. Dealership stated the car passed the rod bearing test, so not eligible for a new engine, or any other repairs. But, they stated it does NEED a new engine. Said it needs a new knock sensor (we pay!) and new spark plugs (just replaced 2 months prior - once again, we pay!), and they stated oil is low (oil change done 1 month prior). Dealer stated nothing can be done until the engine completely fails/does not pass rod bearing test. We are expected to drive a dangerous car (assuming it will drive as it won't start at this point). Car has been sitting at the dealership since 11/15/23. Our other car is a Hyundai as well. That engine failed completely but luckily I was on a side road and not in traffic. Hyundai does NOT care about consumer safety.

I received a letter 6 months ago advising me to park my car outside and away from buildings because the car could catch fire even when not running. I've had to get permission from my HOA every month to park in the parking lot. I call the dealership every month to see if there has been a solution. Sometimes I have to drive my grandchildren and two of them are in car seats. Sometimes I have to drive my dogs and they are restrained in safety harnesses. I am afraid to drive with them because I'm not sure I'd be able to get them out in time if there was a fire. I called Hyundai customer service and they told me to ask my dealership for a loaner car. when I did, they said they would call me back. They did not. I have an upcoming road trip at the end of this month and I'm afraid I will have to cancel because of this safety issue. I feel that Hyundai is taking much too long to come up with a resolution and they are putting me and my family, my grandchildren, and my dogs at risk, not to mention the inconvenience and the worry.
On Monday, October 23rd at 5:30 pm my 2014 Santa Fe engine stalled without any warning. I was driving home during rush hour traffic when it slowed down and seized in the middle of five lanes. As cars flew beside me, I quickly realized that there was no where for me to safely get out of my vehicle. Where I was located on the freeway is one of the busiest and most dangerous areas to drive. Unfortunately, I was located on a slight bend of the freeway where oncoming traffic could not see me until the very last minute. This barely left enough time for them to safely move over. Many cars had to quickly swerve to either lane beside me to avoid crashing in to me. This was happening at very rapid speeds. While drivers were swerving to not hit me at the very last minute, there was barely enough time to for them to check for other cars in those lanes. This resulted in many nearly missed hits for other drivers on the road. I was sure a car was going to crash into me, so I dialed 911 to help me. Shortly after a sheriff showed up and pushed my car with his squad car to a crash site off of the freeway. There I sat for a few hours waiting for a tow truck in my car which was not the safest area for a woman to be waiting in her car in the dark all alone. The whole experience was terrifying and should not have happened. My Santa Fe has now been sitting at my local repair shop dead. They said the engine is shot and that I need to replace the engine which will cost $10k+. I purchased the car for $15k three years ago with nothing wrong with it, at least so I thought. After doing some research, it turns out Hyundai engines have had MANY issues and failures. It seems they've had many complaints about this issue. There are recalls and even lawsuits on them, but unfortunately they exclude my car even thought I had the exact same issue as others that were remedied. These cars should all be recalled and taken off of the road immediately. They pose a huge danger to anyone on the road.
Engine crank rod bearing is failing just bought this and within a month it starting failing on me. Have a loud knocking sound and no check engine light ever went on. Just woke up one morning turned it on and the noise was there
My engine started making a loud knocking noise suddenly. It only has 84,000 miles on it and I haven't missed any maintenance appointments. The Hyundai dealership was thoroughly unhelpful when I called them so I had another mechanic look at it. Turns out there is metal in my oil and my engine is shot. I have a reasonable expectation of not needing a new engine at 84,000 miles but I am not sure if this has to do with the most recent recall with engine fires.
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated driving 20 MPH, the ABS and the traction control warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the message "Blind Spot Detection Cancelled" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and the warning lights flickered while driving in the rain on one occasion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer, and a second dealer, Hyundai of Wesley Chapel (27000 Wesley Chapel Blvd, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544) and a third dealer were contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Loss of power and then lower engine rod knock. Engine is a total loss and needs to be replaced.

I have a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. I was notified the ABS module may leak hydraulic fluid on electronics that can cause a fire while driving or parked. This SAFETY issue was found in September 2023. After 7 months a remedy still has not been found. How long is a suitable amount of time to wait for a solution? How long should I need to wait for this to either burn down or get fixed? A remedy has been found for the Santa Fe Sport. Will this same fix, work for my Santa Fe? If it will I am willing to pay for it and wait for reimbursement. The would be better than wondering if my vehicle is going to catch fire while I'm driving down the highway. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. I was driving down the interstate at the speed limit of 60mph, traffic slowed down then totally stopped. I was at a safe distance to stop, i began tapping on the brakes and i had no brakes. the brake pedal was hard no give in the pedal which caused me to rear end a stopped vehicle doing 60 MPH with me and my son in the vehicle. We went by ambulance to go to the emergency room. The car was declared a total loss by AAA. This happened on September 19th 2023. My safety and my son along with everyone driving on the interstate was at risk because of total brake failure. There were no warning lights present or malfunction indicator lights warnings at all. My son and I, are lucky to be alive.
On 9/16/23 in Pierpont, OH, my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport's engine seized driving 55 mph. No warning as engine lost power. Drifted to side road into parking lot. Engine smelled of electric burning (diagnosed at dealer with burned out battery as well as burned out starter as well as catastrophic engine failure). I have always carried an auto fire extinguisher in this car as they have been known to catch fire when engines seized and I had researched the problems with these engines since being notified of the engineering defects they have. At the time of the engine failure, I had my husband and my dog in the car, as we were on vacation leaving us stuck on the side of a road in 80 degree heat and we were 100 miles away from home. My vehicle was towed to Victory Hyundai in Jefferson, OH, about 11 miles from where I broke down. It has been there since awaiting diagnosing as well as submission to Hyundai for engine replacement under current powertrain warranty. I promptly had all recalls & services (oil changes) done throughout my ownership of car, as part of lifetime engine warranty program due to known engine issues with Hyundai and Kia GDI Theta engines. Engine replacement was granted on 10/13/23 by Hyundai. Will be approx 3-6 months to wait for engine to be received and replacement to be installed. Prior to engine failure, engine went into limp mode in May of 2019 with P1326 code and was towed to dealership where I purchased my vehicle (Preston Hyundai in Boardman, OH). Second software update was completed and engine checked for any defects and was cleared to drive. Had no issues with engine until it seized in September.
Hyundai Campaign 251 ABS Module may leak hydraulic fluid, internally, and could cause a fire while driving, or parked. Hyundai has known about this problem since, at least, August 2023. The recall paperwork says this leak may cause a fire in the engine compartment while parked, or driving. What is taking Hyundai so long to correct this safety issue? I can't park my car in the garage because it may start a fire and cause damage to my home. I'm concerned about driving it because it may start burning while I'm on the highway. If the ABS stops working it may result in the brakes not working properly. Is there anything the NHTSA can do to encourage Hyundai to find a resolution.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a fuel odor entering the vehicle. The contact stated she drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and exited the vehicle. The contact stated she noticed a leak under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. The contact stated she restarted the vehicle and the vehicle caught fire. The contact stated that a neighbor used a garden hose to extinguish the fire. A police or fire report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel line that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact then received a call from the dealer to inform her that the vehicle was still leaking fuel. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.
I Recently, experienced a sudden and alarming incident with my car. Out of nowhere, the car began leaking gas, which resulted in a fire. Prior to this incident, the car was in perfect working condition, and there were no signs of any issues or malfunctions. It was a completely unexpected and unfortunate event that posed a significant danger. The vehicle was towed to Hyundai Dealership of Myrtle Beach, SC in August. The service agent explained that the vehicle technician would diagnosed the issue that she would call me back with plans and pricing. She shortly called back and stated that the diagnosis was a fuel line and that it needed to be replaced, that the part was approx. $200.00 for the part and after labor totaling approx. $1025. This was agreed and plans were made for me to pick my vehicle up by 3:00pm. She later called back and stated that the fuel pump was replaced but that the car was still leaking gas and would result in more diagnosis and repair fees up to $6,000 or more. I questioned the original diagnosis and she explained She would have to hand the matter over to Management. I spoke with Mgt. several times on the repair and mis diagnosis who claims it was not their fault and that they found hidden damage that the fire caused. Since then I have been told I would get some type of help and that He has written a letter to Coorp. and received a response that they were sending an Inspector out to look at my car. It has been over 60 days now without my vehicle and they have explained that they have reached out to Hyundai Corporation and submitted a notice for recall or help with this matter and no response yet.
While traveling 70mph on the expressway with my husband and 2 small children in the car, we experienced catastrophic engine failure in our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe, which nearly resulted in an accident because of the sudden deceleration. There were no warnings indicating a problem beforehand (no lights illuminated on the dashboard or any other indications of a problem) until the car suddenly made a large knocking sound and stopped running. After being stranded on the side of a dangerous highway with our children for over 2 hours, we had to have the car towed to the nearest mechanic, 60 miles from our house, who diagnosed the problem as a failed engine due to a rod bearing failure. The rod was thrown through the engine, and the mechanic informed us it would be a minimum of $10,000 to replace the failed engine with a used one. We contacted Hyundai who told us our car was not part of the extended warranty or recalls that resulted from a previous lawsuit, and they offered us no assistance or solution. They also quoted us $8,000-$20,000 to replace the engine. In our research we have found that many other Hyundai's with a 3.3L engine have experienced this same catastrophic engine failure. We have maintained the car accordingly and even brought the car in to be serviced just weeks before we took this trip. There was absolutely no indication of a problem before this happened.
On July 29, 2023, while driving in McAllen, Texas, our 2014 Hyundai engine failed, to wit: head gasket. Typically, this would not be a national issue and on first blush, seems related to a singular, isolated incident. However, this does not appear to be the case. Last summer, Hyundai settlement included a new engine for this car. (See class action settlement). The engine was replaced, however, it has come to light that Hyundai has set aside defective replacement motors. Indeed, there are consumers nationwide, complaining of the same. On July 29th, the unit began to catch fire, in that the wiring harnesses, and other wiring which are adjacent to and connected to the block, and its appendages, experienced extreme heat, melting, and burning. If not for my quick and necessary reaction, it is possible and likely that a catastrophic fire would have ensued. Hyundai has not corrected the original problem and has intentionally or by gross negligence, put into motion a series of events, if left unchecked, will, with little doubt, cause the loss of property and life. The engine has about 35,000 miles on it since replacement. The total mileage is approximately 129k. Case #21799766 (reported to Hyundai) initial case # 18911395 (Prior to engine replacement.
Engine burned two quarts of oil between scheduled oil changes. Vehicle has 88,200 miles on it. Engine could sieze up on the highway and cause an accident.
2014 Santa Fe 3.3L with 108,000 miles. Sudden total loss of power on the highway. Check engine light came on, was able to pull onto shoulder and shut off vehicle. Towed to dealership, engine code ended up being P0304 and engine was completely seized - would not rotate. Safety of my family and others on the highway was compromised when the vehicle lost all power and had to immediately veer off the road onto a narrow shoulder. Problem was confirmed by a Hyundai dealership. Vehicle has not been inspected by the other listed parties. No warning whatsoever was seen, felt or heard. Check engine light came on after the engine had seized.
My Santa fe was having 3 times Engine light on in 3 different scenarios 1. It was on June 23rd 2023 and vehicle was left in Murdock Service center Service: Firmware was updated and vehicle was returned under warranty TXXI T3G #TSB 21-01-066H 2. Next the Vehicle was again had engine lights on on July 7th ,again left on service center Service: NOC sensor was changed and returned the car on July 12th. 3. Again 3rd time Engine light goes on and left the car on July 24th 2023 and ever since the car was never given until November 4th. - So many tech line investigation and check and follow ups ,however inspite of all the follow ups , again the vehicle turned off.!Need help and support.
Driving on the highway for approximately 10 minutes when the vehicle began to lose power and the check engine light came on. Immediately pulled over onto the highway shoulder and white smoke began to come out from under the hood. Exited the vehicle and the white smoke increased in amount and intensity. Less than 5 minutes from the initial loss of power, the smoke turned black and large flames engulfed the entire engine compartment and front of vehicle. Fire department arrived approximately 10 minutes after the fire began and managed to extinguish the fire. The entire engine compartment had been consumed with almost no recognizable components remaining. Car has been claimed by insurance company and is likely to report vehicle as a complete loss after their inspection.
Car not shifting correctly. No power. Could not gain speed to merge into traffic. Was intermittent for months finally the engine light came on. My mechanics diagnostic showed it was the turbo charger. There is a service bulletin 22-22-EM-004H
Car would not shift. Could not increase speed. This occurred intermittently and gradually got worse
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that the ABS warning light, the steering warning light, and the Hill Descent control warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that he slightly swerved to the right; however, the wheels locked up, and the vehicle skidded before it came to a stop, nearly causing a crash. The dealer was notified of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) which he related to the failure; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, she smelled a strong gasoline odor. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's daughter veered to the side of the road and noticed that gasoline was leaking from the fuel pump location. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump hose was leaking, and the fuel pump and hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V934000 (Engine, Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Hi, I bought my car from Honda of Concord in June 2020 and they’re the only ones that have serviced my car. I had my last oil change on 03/24/23 and had 40 days to get my oil changed again. No light or anything came on until my car broke all the way down. When I checked the oil level there was NO oil in the car whatsoever, so I bought some and put it in there and towed it to the dealership the next day. The Honda dealership told me after charging me $100 for a diagnostic fee that it was because of the engine. So I had the car towed to the Hyundai dealership for my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Hyundai of Concord location told me they couldn’t see the car for 3-4 weeks. At that point I had it towed to South Charlotte Hyundai who then had to do another diagnosis which costs $109. They told me that the engine failed do to no oil being in the car!! Now I am going back and forth between these two dealerships. Honda says it’s due to oil consumption. There’s a recall going on for oil consumption with the type and year of car I have. Hyundai says it’s not related to the recall but because there was no oil in the car. I maintenance my car like I suppose to every month and they are trying to act like I’m responsible. I am not understanding this at all. Hyundai is trying to charge over $12,000 to fix my car and that’s just not sitting right with me. Either Honda of Concord messed my car up by not putting the oil back in after the oil change or not doing it right or Hyundai needs to fix this issue do to the recall! Also, the Hyundai Corporate woman stated she don’t see where Hyundai left notes on any action taken on the car so she’s not sure where they are getting the numbers from for the engine replacement amount. The dealership never attempted to do a pre approval to see if the engine could be replaced although out of warranty.
The engine failed and yes it’s available for inspection upon request. The safety of myself and my children were put at risk because I was driving on the highway and my car shut all the way down. I had to safely get to the shoulder to pull over while maneuvering through high highway traffic. The problem has been identified by the dealership and it has been in their possession for over a month now. Prior to the car completely shutting down there was literally no lights coming on.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? ENGINE FAILED How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? CAR CUT OFF ON BUSY HIGHWAY WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND WE WERE ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO MAKE IT TO THE RIGHT LANE TO PULL OVER!!! Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE ENGINE HAS SEIZED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NO! Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO LIGHTS APPEARED UNTIL THE ENGINE SEIZED…I STILL HAD PLENTY DAYS AND MILES TO GO BEFORE OIL CHANGED!!!! CAR BROKE DOWN OUT OF NO WHERE & THIS IS MY 3RD TIME POSTING ON HERE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I TRIED OPENING AN INVESTIGATION AND NO ONE RESPONDS. AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE OPEN FOR THR HYUNDAI SANTA FE 3.3L ENGINES!!!!

My granddaughter was so upset, crying, panicky afraid to get hit by the cars, trucks, staying stranded.myquick thinking I kept my foot on the gas gave it all I could manage to get my SUV on the triangle safe spot in front of the sign exit 275. Once I took my foot slowly off the gas I notice all of the components were locking up shutting down slowly the lights just dimming into darkness nothing nothing was on as if she just shut down to sleep. It was very scary I am also suffering anxiety flashback what if I didn't think to get out of the tractor trailers way.
