THE SUN VISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT STAY IN ITS UPRIGHT POSITION. IT HANGS CAUSING INTERFERENCE WITH VISION. I'M FEARFUL OF THIS SAME PROBLEM OCCURRING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON, AND IGNITION SWITCH MALFUNCTION. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR ON OUR 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA HAS SUDDENLY STOPPED BEING ABLE TO BE IN THE UP POSITION. IT ALSO CANNOT BE PLACED TOTALLY DOWN. AS A RESULT IT IS HANGING DOWN AND IMPEDING VISION AND HITS ME IN THE HEAD IF I LEAN FORWARD TO SEE TRAFFIC OR MOVE MY HEAD TO LOOK OVER BEFORE MOVING INTO ANOTHER LANE. THERE IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY RISK WITH THE FAILURE OF THIS PART. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONSISTENTLY ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL; WHICH INDICATES THAT THE AIR BAGS ARE INOPERATIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES WERE REPLACED UNDER THE SERVICE WARRANTY. NONE OF THE REPAIRS REMEDIED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS RE-CONTACTED AND A TECHNICIAN ADVISED HER THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,418. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,970.
AT FIRST IT WAS THE RADIO, TURNING ON AND OFF BY ITSELF WHEN I WOULD TRY TO LOWER THE VOLUME IT WOULD BE LOUDER. MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD GO OUT AND TURN ON AGAIN, MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT WILL TURN ON AS MY CAR WOULD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT SIGN IS ON AND THE BAG IT IS NOT DEPLOYED. THE ABS, ESC AND OTHER GLOW LIGHTS WILL TURN ON; SOMETIMES I CANT ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS OR LOCK THE CAR WITH THE BUTTON. NOW MY CAR WILL NOT START, NO POWER AND IT RESETS MY CLOCK. I HAVE GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THEY ARE GREEDY MONEY HUNGRY '!@#$% WHO DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS, I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR AND ITS BEEN THROUGH DIAGNOSTICS AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS THE ONLY THING FOUND WRONG. I HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CAR AT LEAST TWICE A DAY AND THREE TIMES ITS DIED COMPLETELY. THIS IS AN 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA IT SHOULD NOT GIVE ME THESE PROBLEMS. *TR

THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE MAIN COMPUTER SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
2006 - 08 HYUNDAI SONATA SUN VISORS BREAK VERY EARLY IN CAR'S LIFE. MINE WAS AROUND 41000 MI. DRIVER SIDE VISOR BROKE WHEN PUTTING IT DOWN ONE MORNING IN MAY 2009, NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS BROKEN TOO. THE PLASTIC THAT SURROUNDS THE BAR IN THE ELBOW JUST SNAPS AND FLIES OFF, RESULTING IN THE VISOR FLAPPING DOWN LIMPLY IN YOUR FACE, BLOCKING VISION COMPLETELY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS VERY COMMON. HYUNDAI DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED IT IS COMMON AND HAD PLENTY IN STOCK. THEY AGREED TO REPLACE 1ST ONE FOR FREE, THOUGH NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I HOPE THE SAME THIS TIME. PLEASE LOOK UP "HYUNDAI SONATA VISOR" ON YOUR SEARCH ENGINE. YOU WILL FIND PERHAPS HUNDREDS OF ENTRIES. I STOPPED AT ABOUT 40 INDIV. ENTRIES WITH EXACTLY THIS PROBLEM. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 65 MPH WITH AN OCCUPANT SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. IN ADDITION, THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM INDICATOR INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYED THE "ON" POSITION MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS). NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V161000 (AIR BAGS) IS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL REMEDY SINCE THE OCS WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. MY 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA HAS HAD 2 FAILURES OF THE DRIVER'S SUN VISOR. THE 1ST WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY; THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. IN EACH CASE IT HAS DROPPED INTO THE FULLY DEPLOYED POSITION WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF VISION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE FRONT DRIVER-SIDE SEAT BELT WAS REPLACED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. NONE OF THE REPAIRS HAVE REMEDIED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULDN'T GO OUT AND THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE IN THE SENSOR IN THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT WHICH WILL COST $400 TO REPLACE. HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS IN ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE EVERY DRIVEN. DUE TO COST HAVE CHOSEN TO DRIVE WITHOUT A AIRBAG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLES STALLED WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 45 AND 55 MPH. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED ALL OF THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKE FUNCTIONS MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES. HYUNDAI WAS ALSO NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. CASE # 4011415 WAS FILED BY HYUNDAI. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,500.
THE DRIVERSIDE SUNVISOR CRACKED DURING NORMAL USAGE. THIS IS AFTER VERY LOW USAGE. THE BROKEN SUNVISOR WOULD NO LONGER FOLD UP FLUSH WITH THE ROOF AND WILL LOWER ITSELF WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS AND POTHOLES. THIS IS A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AT UNEXPECTED TIMES AND COULD DROP TO THE POINT OF BLOCKING THE VISION OF THE DRIVER FOR A SHORT PERIOD UNTIL THE DRIVER LOWERS THEIR EYES TO SEE BELOW THE VISOR . THE SUNVISOR WAS IMMEDIATELY REPLACED AS IT INTERFERED WITH SAFE DRIVING AND IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. *LN
THIS ISSUE INVOLVES THE COMBUSTION OF A PLASTIC FUEL PUMP POWER SUPPLY CONNECTOR INSIDE THE FUEL TANK OF A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. A PIN ON THE OUTER CONNECTOR WAS ALSO BURNT. THE PUMP ACTUALLY STILL WORKS - IT ONLY QUIT BECAUSE THE CONNECTORS BURNT - INCLUDING THE CONNECTOR INSIDE THE TANK TO THE POINT THAT AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTION COULD NOT BE MADE. IF THE FUEL PUMP MOTOR WORE OUT AFTER SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES (USUALLY WELL OVER 100K IN MOST CARS - NOT 68K) THEN I MAY UNDERSTAND AN ARGUMENT FOR THE HYUNDAI SERVICE MANAGER'S CONTENTION THAT THIS IS "NORMAL WEAR". I BELIEVE THAT A CONNECTOR BURNING INSIDE A FUEL TANK IS NOT "NORMAL WEAR" AND IS ALSO LIKELY TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD. HYUNDAI MOTORS AND THE DEALERSHIP HAVE BOTH BEEN NOTIFIED OF MY CONCERNS AND THEY SHOW NO INDICATION OF DOING ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT OTHER THAN TO REPLACE THE PUMP AT MY EXPENSE - UNDOUBTEDLY WITH ONE OF THE SAME DESIGN. I TOOK THE OLD PUMP FROM THEIR SHOP AND I AM KEEPING IT FOR FUTURE EVIDENCE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN TRYING TO RE-START THE VEHICLE AFTER IT HAD BEEN PARKED. I DON'T PLAN ON KEEPING THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 68K MILES BECAUSE I'M CONCERNED THAT WE MAY NEED AN UNDERTAKER INSTEAD OF A TOW TRUCK THE NEXT TIME. *TR
I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM MY DEALERSHIP THAT MY REAR DISC BRAKES ON MY 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (PADS, ROTORS). MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS 56K MILES ON IT, AND ANY CAR I'VE EVER OWNED NEVER NEED A REAR BRAKE JOB (PADS ONLY) BEFORE 100K MILES. THE FRONT DISC BRAKE PADS WERE JUST REPLACED IN NOVEMBER, AND DURING THAT VISIT THE TECHNICIANS STATED THAT ALL BRAKES (AFTER THE JOB) WERE FINE. ADDITIONAL ISSUES WITH CAR, REPAIRED DURING RECALL: ESC LIGHT DISPLAYED ON DASHBOARD ABS LIGHT DISPLAYED ON DASHBOARD AIRBAG LIGHT DISPLAYED ON DASHBOARD *TR
THAT'S THE PROBLEM THERE IS NO SERIOUS EVENT LEADING UP TO THE PROBLEM. IT IS HAPPENING BECAUSE THESES CARS ARE NOT BUILT FOR SAFETY. I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 5 MONTHS AND THERE ARE SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS, HYUNDAI AND YOU ALL MAY NOT THINK SO BUT IT IS. IF IT WAS YOUR CAR THAT HAD ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS YOU WOULD BE COMPLAINING ALSO. PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE WITH MY HYUNDAI SONATA: PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT ON EVERY TIME YOU CRANK UP, AIRBAG LIGHT IN THE DASH BOARD ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (SENSORS GOING BAD IN THE CAR). IF ITS NOT EQUIPPED FOR THE CAR DON'T TRY SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO HAVE PEOPLE SPENDING OUT OF THE POCKETS AND THEN PAYING FOR A CAR ALSO. RECALLS ON 06 HYUNDAI SONATA WHAT'S THE PURPOSE IF IT CANT BE FIXED EVERYTHING ON THE RECALL LIST IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. IF I HAD A SECOND CHANCE I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUT THAT '!@#$% FROM HYUNDAI. *TR

2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. MY BRAKES VIBRATE AND I HAVE HAD THE FRONT ROTORS TURNED TWICE IN A TEN THOUSAND MILE PERIOD (44K MILEAGE). THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AND AM WONDERING IF THIS IS A NATIONAL PROBLEM AND THERE MAY BE SOME DEFECT. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA AND HAVE HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR BREAK ON ME 3 TIMES, EACH THROUGH NORMAL USAGE. HOWEVER, IT WILL ONLY STAY DOWN AT THIS POINT. INTERNET SEARCHES WITH "HYUNDAI SONATA VISOR" WILL SHOW CASES OF MULTIPLE BREAKAGES FOR MANY OWNERS. THE DATE LISTED IS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. IN ADDITION, FURTHER SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THEIR LACK OF STOCK. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS, DRIVING WITHOUT A VISOR, WHICH HAS BECOME VERY DIFFICULT AT TIMES WITH THE SUN IN THE EYES. DO WE NEED A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT TO OCCUR IN ORDER TO CAUSE THEM TO REDESIGN A SIMPLE YET IMPORTANT PIECE? *TR
2006 HYUNDAI SONATA 6 CYL. THE REAR BRAKES NEED COMPLETE REPLACING ONLY AFTER 26,000 MILES. THE FRONT BRAKES ARE FINE. NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FOUND ONLINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE REAR DECK STOP LIGHT IN THE BACK WAS INOPERATIVE. THE FAILURE TO NOTIFY OTHER DRIVERS OF INTENTIONS INCREASED THE RISK FOR A VEHICLE CRASH. A TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT DESIGN AN ACCESS PORT, THEY WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE THE ENTIRE REAR DECK IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULB. HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40,000.
I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER ON MY 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA REGARDING THE STOP LAMP SWITCH. I KNEW I HAD THIS PROBLEM, BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN ON JUNE 24, 2009, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME APPROXIMATELY $275.00 TO REPAIR. I CANNOT AFFORD SUCH REPAIR. THEN THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPT. CAME AND OFFERED TO REPAIR IT FOR LESS, BUT THAT HE WOULD CALL ME LATER WITH A QUOTE. I NEVER RECEIVED SUCH A CALL. TODAY, I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO SERVICE DEPT. AT 7:00 IN THE MORNING AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE UNTIL ABOUT 7:00 IN THE EVENING TO REPAIR, WHEN I TOLD THEM I COULD NOT BE WITHOUT A CAR THAT LONG, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD TO SEE IF EVEN MY CAR QUALIFIED FOR THIS RECALL. THE PERSON CAME BACK TO SAY THAT MY CAR DID NOT. I WOULD LIKE A RESPONSE TO THIS REQUEST. THE WOMAN TAKING DOWN MY INFORMATION DID NOT EVEN LISTEN TO THE OTHER THINGS I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT, SUCH AS A RUBBER (DO NOT KNOW CORRECT NAME) FELL OFF FROM THE SUNROOF AND OTHER ITEMS. SHE DID NOT EVEN HEAR ABOUT THOSE ITEM. *TR
THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON, WHICH WILL NOT LET THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY IF AN ACCIDENT. PROBLEM WAS A SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT. HAD IT REPLACED, WITHIN 2 MONTHS AND $600 LATER, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. WILL NOT GET FIXED AGAIN UNTIL A RECALL IS MADE, MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. TOO EXPENSIVE, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED OUT OF SAFETY OF PEOPLE IN VEHICLE. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. DEALER HAS FIXED TWO TIMES BUT COMES BACK ON. NOW NO WARRANTY AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE. I CAN PLAY WITH THE WIRES UNDER DRIVER SEAT AND SOMETIMES IT WOULD GO OFF. BUT NOW IT IS JUST STAYING ON, AND CANNOT PASS VA INSPECTION WITH IT ON. *TR

THIS IS A DRIVING HAZARD BECAUSE IT LIMITS VISIBILITY AND IS A DISTRACTION FOR THE DRIVER OF THE CAR. OFTEN TIMES, I HIT MY HEAD ON THE VISOR. NIGHT TIME IS THE MOST DIFFICULT TIME BECAUSE THERE IS NO REASON TO HAVE THE VISOR DOWN (NO SUNLIGHT) BUT THE VISOR HINDERS PROPER VISION OF THE ROAD. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE PASSENGER HAVING BAD POSTURE WHEN SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
I HAVE A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER VISORS HAVE BROKE WHEN BEING PROPERLY USED. ON THE DRIVER ONE, THERE WAS A CRACKING SOUND AND A PIECE OF PLASTIC BROKE OFF THE CORNER OF THE VISOR. BOTH VISORS DO NOT STAY IN THEIR NON-USED OR USED POSITIONS. THE VISORS FALL IN THE SIGHT OF DRIVING AND CAN ONLY BE HELD UP BY OTHER MEANS, SUCH AS VELCRO, WHICH IS NOT EFFECTIVE. I AM UNABLE TO USE MY VISORS AT ALL BECAUSE I AM FORCED TO HAVE THEM PERMANENTLY MODIFIED IN THE UNUSED POSITION. WHEN IN USE, THE EDGE OF THE VISOR RESTS AT FOREHEAD LEVEL MAKING IT EVEN MORE OF A HAZARD, NOT JUST BECAUSE OF LACK OF SIGHT, BUT BECAUSE OF THE FEAR OF GETTING IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND HAVING THE VISOR IMPALE THE DRIVER'S OR THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER'S HEAD. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT MY WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THEM AND THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THEM. DURING NORMAL USE OF MY SUNVISORS THEY BOTH BROKE. WHEN IT FIRST BEGAN BOTH VISORS WOULD FALL ANYTIME I HIT A BUMP, BLOCKING MY VIEW OF THE ROAD, VERY DANGEROUS. I WOULD PUSH THEM BACK UP. THIS HAPPENED OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL MONTHS. AT THIS POINT BOTH VISORS HANG DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION. SINCE THEY REMAIN IN THE DOWN POSITION THEY OBSTRUCT MY VIEW OF THE ROAD AND ARE A DANGER. AT THIS POINT ALL I HAVE BOTH VISORS TIED WITH ROPE TO THE HANDLE BAR NEAR THE TOP OF EACH DOOR. *TR
BOTH SUN VISORS IN MY 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA BROKE WITHOUT WARNING. THEY BOTH FLOP DOWN AND WON'T STAY UP. I TOOK THEM APART AND FOUND THAT THE PLASTIC FRICTION-SLEEVE AROUND THE METAL HANGER HAS BROKEN ON EACH ONE. THE FLOPPED-DOWN VISORS RESTRICT THE DRIVER'S VISION AND THEIR MID-WAY POSITION BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE MAKES RE-FOCUSING ONE'S EYES BETWEEN THE OUTSIDE AND THE INSIDE OF THE CAR PROBLEMATIC. MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO I HAVE NOT HAD THE VISORS REPLACED. INSTEAD, I PUT STRIPS OF VELCRO ON THE ROOF AND ON THE VISORS TO KEEP THEM UP. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER WAS CHANGED UNDER WARRANTY ON MY 2006 SONATA. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE PRETENSIONER HAS SET A CODE. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. AN ONLINE SEARCH PROVED TO BE QUITE FRUITFUL. THIS IS NOT BY ANY MEANS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. HYUNDAI IS AWARE THIS PROBLEM EXISTS AND SPANS MULTIPLE MODELS YET HAS DONE NOTHING TO REPAIR VEHICLES OUT OF WARRANTY. I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT A SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER IS NOT A WEAR ITEM. THIS PART WORKS IN CONCERT WITH YOUR AIRBAG. IT ALSO IS A CONTROLLED EXPLOSION WHICH TIGHTENS THE SEAT BELT TO A PERSON AS THE AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED. IF SOME HYUNDAI AIR BAGS WERE TO SET CODES FOR BEING OUT OF SPEC ALL VEHICLES USING THEM WOULD NO DOUGH BE RECALLED. HOWEVER, A PART WORKING IN UNISON ON THE SAME SYSTEM WITH THE SAME TECHNOLOGY IS NOT. I AM AT A LOSS FOR WHY THIS IS NOT A NATIONAL RECALL. *TR

BOTH SUN VISOR SPRING MOUNTS BREAK. WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE IT CAUSES THE VISOR TO HANG DOWN BLOCKING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. DRIVER'S SIDE HAS BROKEN 3 TIMES AND THE PASSENGER SIDE 2 TIMES OVER THE LAST 18 MONTHS. THE LAST 2 TIMES WE HAD IT IN UNDER WARRANTY TO GET REPAIRED WE WERE TOLD THAT HYUNDAI HAS FIXED THE KNOWN FLAW, ONLY TO HAVE THEM BREAK AGAIN. *TR
09V122000-I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO FIX THE CAR AS THEY HAVE NOT STARTED THEIR CAMPAIGN YET. MY CAR HAS NO BRAKE LIGHTS AND THE ABS/ESC LIGHT IS ON IN THE DASH ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I CANNOT SHIFT OUT OF GEAR WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE SHIFT RELEASE BUTTON. *TR

AIRBAG LIGHT / PROBLEM. TOOK CAR TO CAR PROS HYUNDAI, SEATTLE WA ON AURORA. ADVISED THEM MY AIRBAG LIGHT ALL OF A SUDDEN STAYS ON. THEY ADVISED ME THAT IT WAS SEAT BELT ISSUE AND SOME WIRING UNDER THE FLOOR BOARD. HYUNDAI ADVISED ME THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULDN'T WORK IF I WAS IN A ACCIDENT. ASKED THEM IF THIS WAS UNDER WARRANTY, THEY SAID ONLY UP TO 60, 000 MILES. AND MY CAR IS OVER THAT. I ADVISED WHY AREN'T ALL SEAT BELT FUNCTIONS AND AIRBAGS COVERED THROUGH THE LIFE OF THE CAR. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. ITS THE LAW THAT I HAVE TO WEAR A SEATBELT, WELL IT SHOULD BE A LAW THAT THE SEAT BELTS ARE WORKING PROPERLY AND AIRBAGS FOR THE LIFE OF VEHICLE. *TR

THE SUN VISOR LABELS ALSO BEGAN PEELING AND THE CONTACT INQUIRED WITH THE DEALER IN REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V234000 (EQUIPMENT: OTHER LABELS) AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THAT THE REPAIR WAS PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED. THE DEALER REFUSED ANY ADDITIONAL REPAIRS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V377000 (SEATS: FRONT ASSEMBLY: RECLINER) AND THE DEALER REFUSED REPAIRS UNDER THE RECALL, STATING THAT THE WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE NEVER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS UNDER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE. SHE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V122000 (SERVICE BRAKES) AND WHEN TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, SHE WAS INFORMED AGAIN THAT THE WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR ANY OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

THE FOURTH TIME THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE WARNING PANEL, THE DEALER STATED THE OCCUPANT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY AT THE TIME. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL, HIS VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE CAMPAIGN (SEE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V161000; COMPONENT: AIR BAGS; POTENTIAL NUMBER OF UNITS AFFECTED: 393308). NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNDER 93,359. *KMJ
