NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2025 Hyundai Tucson. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Horn inoperative. Vehicle sets diagnostic trouble code C2A23 indicating horn switch / clock spring failure. Multiple owners report similar failures. Horn is a safety device and failure may prevent warning other drivers. This include the airbag that might be affected since the clock spring is having an issue.
The horn on my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Limited failed without warning in mid January 2026 and no longer functions. This creates a serious safety risk because I was unable to warn another driver while they were merging into my lane on the highway. Without a functioning horn, I cannot alert other drivers to avoid potential collisions. The vehicle was inspected by Balise Hyundai in Springfield, MA, on January 23, 2026, and the dealership confirmed the horn requires replacement. However, they cannot cannot order the replacement part because it is unavailable, possibly due to a redesign or manufacturer change. Hyundai Consumer Affairs has acknowledged the defect and confirmed there is no timeline for repair. They are not allowing dealerships to order the old part and do not have a timeline on when the redesigned part will be available. Because the horn does not function, my Massachusetts State Inspection sticker is expired and cannot be renewed until the horn is repaired, making the vehicle illegal to operate. There were no warning lamps or prior symptoms before the failure. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
The contact rented a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle would stop and would restart independently while driving. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse, the vehicle failed to respond on several occasions while the gear shifter was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure occurred while there was a vehicle parked behind the vehicle or further away. There was no warning light illuminated. The rental company was informed of the failure. Additionally, the contact stated that upon shifting to reverse on one occasion, the vehicle responded, but unintendedly accelerated. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal was stiff and failed to respond, causing the vehicle to crash into an unoccupied parked vehicle. The contact stated that the distance between the two vehicles could fit two parked vehicles. The contact stated that her teenager was occupying the front passenger's side seat during the incident. The contact stated that the front passenger's side and driver's side seat belts failed to restrain the passengers as needed, causing both passengers to use their arms to protect themselves. The police officers arrived at the scene but did not file a report. Both passengers sustained arm, neck, and head pain but declined to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact stated that the gear shifter was locked after the crash and required two hands to move to park(P). The rental company was informed of the failure. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence. The vehicle was driven to the Rental Company the following day. No further information was available. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,292.
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the horn was inoperable. While another driver was reversing, the contact attempted to use the horn to alert the driver, but the horn failed to operate as intended. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was confirmed that the horn was not functioning properly. The dealer informed the contact that the necessary parts to repair the vehicle were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,400.
No visible speedometer as the dashboard was either blank or flashed message "No Signal". The HUD was not showing either. A vehicle unable to display the speed is inherently unsafe. This occurred with an overnight parked car. After about 20 minutes of driving, normal operation resumed.
The emergency breaking system automatically engages whenever it feels it wants to. It has become extremely dangerous to drive the vehicle on a daily basis. I have been in contact with Hyundai, Hyundai consumed affairs and have brought the vehicle back to two dealerships to see if they can duplicate the problem. They have been incredulous thus far and still I am left with the safety issue. I feel very scared to drive the vehicle. I am not sure what to do at this point because Hyundai said if they can’t duplicate the problem then the vehicle is working as designed but is it going to take a serious accident for this to be taken seriously. It has been happening since September 2025. Thank you
The forward collision avoidance engaged when it was unnecessary and nearly caused me to be rear ended. It doesn't slow you down, it brings your vehicle to a complete stop and leaves you stuck unable to move for a few seconds... just long enough for the person behind you to read end you. This is incredibly dangerous. I would speculate that this feature will result in many rear end wrecks and should be addressed expediently or Hyundai may risk a significant class action lawsuit.
WHEN OPERATING WILL SCREEN GOES BLANK ABD INDICATED “LOST SIGNAL” DURING THIS TIME NO SPEED INDICATION. ON HYUNDAI FORUM THERE ARE MANY WHO ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM.
The Automatic Emergency Braking system, I think it may be called (or is a part of) the Forward Collision Avoidance system by Hyundai, triggered incorrectly while on Interstate 265. My car was travelling at about 35 MPH on the off ramp when the Automatic Emergency Braking system triggered and cause my car to rapidly decelerate to a near standstill. The vehicle following behind me had to swerve into another lane to avoid hitting my car. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. The component has not been inspected yet, but we will be bringing it to the dealer in the near future. There were not warnings or messages that this was about to happen other than the emergency sound and light when the Automated Emergency Braking engaged. This has happened twice before on other roads and in other situations with this car.
I started to accelerate from a full-stop to turn left at arrow onto highway ramp and car's emergency brakes came on with a real jolt - almost rear-ended by semi behind me. So scary. So dangerous. Backache, now, too.
customer of Hyundai 4 years now. issues with the Forward Collison-Avoidance Assist (FCA) on my 2025 Tuscan, malfunctioning, aggressively breaking, fantom breaking when absolutely no imminent collision will happen, causing other drivers to come within inches of a rear crash with me, also the same fantom breaking while parallel parking. the breaking causes me to be thrown towards my windshield. made appointment with a Hyundai service they inspected on a diagnostic machine and no recommended "codes" were available after test was done, no repairs made they said my car is fine. happened again within 2 blocks of service center PLEASE HELP
Rear Door automatically opens randomly. This feature is configured to be disabled through the onboard settings.
The car keeps randomly dying. Completely loses power even when driving
The Driver Attention Warning is not disabled, even when doing exactly that in Settings. This is incredibly annoying and distracting and is a major reason I cannot recommend this car to others.
Vehicle dash intermittently goes out. Flickers, goes dark, or shows every warning that exists on the panel. Could be unsafe as speed, gas gage, or other warnings that provide safety are going dark. Took it to dealer in Roseville, Ca. They tried to repair it, but problem began to occur again a week later. I have a video of it, but can’t show here.
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the Forward Attention Warning (FAW) system had failed to detect the driver's eyes while wearing sunglasses, causing the cruise control to disengage unintendedly. Several messages advising the driver to pay attention to the road were displayed. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while wearing prescription glasses and while the driver was not wearing glasses. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the system could not be disabled because the manufacturer considered it a safety feature. The dealer informed the contact that a software update was previously performed over-the-air to correct the issue; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 800.
Issue Type: Intermittent Electronic System Failure / Critical Safety Hazard Description of Incident: A severe safety-related incident occurred while driving at night on 12/29/2025, at approximately 5:48 pm. Under fully dark winter conditions in MA, while the vehicle was in motion with the headlights set to AUTO, the following events occurred: Total System Blackout: All interior and exterior lighting systems suddenly failed simultaneously, including the digital instrument cluster, infotainment display, and backlighting for all illuminated buttons and controls. The complete failure of exterior lighting and interior displays resulted in an immediate loss of forward visibility and access to critical driving information. Duration: The blackout lasted approximately two seconds before the system appeared to reboot. Recurrence: Approximately ten seconds after the first incident, the same total blackout occurred again under identical conditions. Vehicle Status: The engine remained running throughout the incidents; however, the simultaneous loss of lighting and instrumentation created an extremely high-risk driving situation. This incident constitutes a critical safety failure. The vehicle had experienced repeated electrical system failures prior to this incident, and was previously presented to the dealer on 8/7/2025 for diagnosis and repair. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the malfunction and failed to take appropriate corrective action to address these issues: 07/13/2025: The Auto Stop function became inactive, and the vehicle failed to accelerate properly after stopping at traffic lights, creating a hazardous driving condition. 07/14/2025: The phone failed to connect to the vehicle’s infotainment system. 07/17/2025: While reversing in a parking lot, the Parking Collision Warning system failed to detect a moving vehicle behind the car. No audible or visual warning was issued, rendering the safety feature ineffective in preventing a potential collision.
During normal winter operation with the heater in use, the center console area becomes excessively hot. I have measured surface temperatures exceeding approximately 130°F using an infrared thermometer. The affected area includes interior touch surfaces, cup holders, and a factory-installed wireless phone charging pad. The heat appears to originate from HVAC ducting routed through the center console to supply the rear seat vents. Closing the rear vents does not reduce the console temperature, indicating heat transfer through the ducting rather than airflow. The condition is most severe after a warm-soak cycle (driving to operating temperature, briefly parking, then driving again). When a phone is placed in the intended storage or wireless charging area, the device overheats and triggers thermal protection warnings. The console surfaces also become hot enough to present a potential burn risk with prolonged skin contact. These temperatures exceed recommended ambient conditions for consumer electronics and lithium-ion batteries in a normal-use interior storage and charging location. The issue was reported to a Hyundai dealership. The service department stated the heat was caused by the rear HVAC duct and considered the condition “normal.” No repair, insulation review, or corrective action was offered, and no specific temperature measurements were provided in writing. Hyundai Consumer Affairs directed me to return to the same service department, despite the concern remaining unresolved. This condition occurs during normal vehicle operation and represents a potential interior thermal safety concern.
DEC 24, 2025 I STARTED MY AND WENT A VERY SHORT DISTANCE DOWN THE ROAD, MY ENTIRE DASH DISPLAY WENT COMPLETELY BLACK. IT STAYED THIS WAY FOR ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES AND I PULLED OVER AND TURND THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, PRETTY SCARY
I was travelling East in the left kane on the southern state parkway in Long Island, NY. The car in fron of me stopped short. I had plenty of time to slow down, then my car brakes locked up and I was almost rearended. Fortunately the driver behind me was alert and moved to the shoulder to avoid contact.
The car in front of me, 8 to 10 feet ahead, slow down and turn on their blinker. My car slammed so hard on its break. It threw me and my dog forward. It never gave us a warning until it slammed. There was plenty of time for me to slow down, but also the car was partially already in the turn lane. There is then 223 seconds where my car will not move forward. I am a sitting duck to cars coming behind me.
Multiple times the car has locked the brakes when there was a car several car lengths in front of me. This has resulted in me nearly being rear ended three different times. The force of the stop has also caused me to have neck and back pain. This is u safe and will result in injuries. There are many reports about this on Reddit.
The automatic brake system triggers when there is no obstacle. It has caused the car to stop suddenly in the middle of the road and almost become rear ended several times. We took it to the Hyundai service center and they said they’ve had complaints of this before but checked the system and don’t see any issues.
Since taking possession of the vehicle, I have experienced two incidents involving the automatic emergency braking system activating unexpectedly, despite no obstacle or hazard being present. During one of these incidents, the vehicle braked abruptly and forcefully enough to cause an injury to my wrist. On March 7, 2026, I brought the vehicle to the dealership for inspection, where it was confirmed that there is an issue with the front right camera, which appears to be affecting the forward collision and automatic braking system. In addition, the vehicle required premature brake pad replacement due to persistent squeaking. Experiencing brake component issues on a brand-new vehicle raises further concerns about the integrity and reliability of the braking system. Brakes are a critical safety component, and premature wear or abnormal behavior so early in the vehicle’s life undermines confidence in the system designed to protect drivers and surrounding traffic. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure. The first instance occurred within 30-days of taking possession of the vehicle. The second two months later.
The dashboard and heads up display intermittently goes on and off. All warning lights are on when the dashboard comes back on. It goes off long enough to not know how fast you are going. Hyundai has this as a known issue for Limited trims of the Hyundai Tucson yet they only tell you to take it to the dealer for the vehicle to be fixed. Customers have taken their vehicle back to the dealership after the dealerships stated that the issue was fixed because the issue happens again a few days later. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.
My wife was driving our Hyundai Tucson on the city street at about 35 mph. She signaled left to get into a turning lane. The turning lane has two lanes and is very long. She got into the turning lane and the traffic in front of her stopped. The car's collision avoidance system activated and slammed on the brakes even though the vehicle was not very close to the cars in front of her. As a result, a vehicle behind her rear ended her causing over $9,000 in damage. This car has done this before on the highway and city street. The collision sensitivity setting was on normal and had been since we got the car and until the accident. I had also been driving the car when the collision avoidance activated. The problem with this car is that it only knows to slam on the brakes and results in getting rear ended. It does not gradually apply the brakes even when the car in front is not very close and locking up the brakes is not necessary and is actually unsafe as shown when my wife was in a rear collision accident. This is a major safety problem and needs to be looked into.
I’ve been driving this car for nearly a year, and during that time I’ve had multiple incidents where the Forward Collision-Avoidance system applied sudden hard braking when it wasn’t necessary, creating dangerous situations. I don't think I will be fortunate every time. I believe there is a serious issue with how the Hyundai's FCA system is operating and it needs to be investigated as a priority. Currently I am driving with it turned off every time I start the car. On my research I found this issue has been reported by multiple other drivers as well and I don't see any acknowledgement or reference from Hyundai on this so far.
I am reporting a serious safety and reliability concern with my 2025 Hyundai Tucson. At only about 2,000 miles, I was informed by the Hyundai dealership that the transmission has already failed and needs to be replaced. This vehicle is essentially brand new and should not be experiencing a major powertrain failure so early in its lifespan. The transmission issue has caused significant concern regarding the safety of the vehicle. Sudden failure of a major drivetrain component creates an increased risk of loss of power, unpredictable drivability, and unsafe operation in traffic. This is especially concerning because this vehicle was already given to me as a replacement for a previous Hyundai Tucson that qualified under my state’s lemon law. A transmission failure at such a low mileage indicates a possible manufacturing defect or a systemic quality issue that could affect other consumers. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to determine if this is part of a broader problem in the 2025 Hyundai Tucson model line. This situation is unacceptable for a vehicle this new, and it raises serious concerns about long term safety and reliability. I am seeking further review and action so that other consumers are not placed in similar unsafe situations.
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the instrument panel and the infotainment screen display went black. The contact stated that the failure had progressively worsened and was a daily recurring failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the Heads-Up Display (HUD) harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
The Forward Attention Warning system performs erratically, frequently disabling the adaptive cruise control without warning. Even when it does emit a warning, which again, is erractic, the warning is barely audible. When conditions, such as grooved pavement or loud cabin noises, such as when a window or moonroof is open, the warning is completely in-audible. Similarly, the warning message displayed is not readable within the 0.5 - 1.0 sec (best estimate) that it is shown, as it is several lines of text - a distraction in itself. The disabling occurred during times when this ADAS feature is most value, cruising at highway speeds in heavier traffic - a time when automatic speed control and braking, along with maintaining a clear distance, are all invaluable to driver safety.
The automatic braking was inappropriately applied while I was coming to a controlled stop on a 45mph stop light intersection. I was already slowing down and about 30 feet behind the car in front of me the Collision Avoidance warning starting going off, slightly applied brakes (to the additional amount I was already applying) then slammed on the brakes to a complete stop. There was some teen behind me who wasn't paying attention, and obviously no one expects the car in front of them to slam on their brakes 30 feet behind the cars in front of them, then plowed into back end of my car. This isn't the first time it's happened and I wasn't even at risk of collision as I was already slowing down in the other instances. But this time it caused an accident and injury. I am suffering from whiplash and possible herniated disk. The system is on the Late setting as well but is still dangerous to drive. There needs to be a firmware update or sensor recall, this is very dangerous!
Horn stopped before odometer hit 6,000 miles, dealer was unfamiliar with problem until I googled it and found out Hyundai is having horn issues, then they were aware of problem. Took 34 days to get this issue repaired.
I purchased the 2025 Hyundai Tuscon Limited in October this year. My conern is the headlights. When driving at night using the normal headlights, on the road on the left side shining there appears to be a black spot ahead of me. I've had asked front seat passenger if they noted it also to which they affirmed. I did asked my Hyundai Dealer about this and they stated that it is intended that way so that the oncoming vehicle is not blinded by my headlights. I'm driving on a 4 lane divide highway and it is very disracting to me as I feel I cannot see anything on the left side of the left lane when I am in the right lane. This is very distracting and they informed that it's that way on all of thier moderls
Once entire display screen including entertainment display and dashboard display went black/ turned off while driving. It came back on within a few seconds. Once dashboard display (without entertainment) went black/ turned off while driving. Last a few seconds.
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at various speeds, the imminent crash braking failed to function as intended. The first time that the failure occurred, the contact's wife was driving in the rain, and a beeping sound was coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle stopped independently. The vehicle returned to normal functionality after several minutes. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while his wife was driving in slow traffic, there was an abnormal beeping sound coming from the vehicle before the vehicle independently stopped. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality minutes later; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the instrument panel turned black. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road, turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as intended. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, but the diagnostic information was not provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.
I was exiting a freeway a unusually slow speed as it was very congested, making a right hand exit. While I was in the curve of the exit ramp, the car suddently applied the brakes to a full stop. There was a car in front of me but we were going the same speed. Fortunately, the car behind me was able to stop in time and not hit me. There was no risk of me hitting the car in front of me.
engine RPMs surged and the car accelerated forward without foot on the gas pedal concerned about possible pedestrian accident or collision with objects and prop. damage. dealer was unable to duplicate the problem and no repair was made there is no warning...I never know when it will happen and it has occurred in a number of different circumstances
I’ve been driving this car for nearly a year, and during that time I have observed 6+ incidents when my instrument cluster went blank and rebooted in the middle of the road while the vehicle is moving. This seems to be widespread issue with no resolution from Hyundai what so ever. I have raised this issue with Hyundai as well.
Bought new, less that 400 miles in November 2025. Within 2 weeks dash board went blank/black. I consider this a driving distraction especially at night when nothing shows, no speed no gauges. Blackout time varies each occasion. Sometimes after a few seconds all warning light come on and stay on until vehicle shut off . Sometimes a NO GIGNAL message. Contiued after service visit with update to vehicle at about 7300 miles in January 2026. Service department acted like they have never heard of this issue.
2 times, while driving 35-40 mph, the vehicle automatically slammed hard on brakes to full stop without any danger or other vehicle near, causing neck pain/whip lash. 3 days ago, I attempted a U-turn in busy intersection, suddenly the vehicle braked hard and came to full stop without any danger near. The dash lights lit up, the vehicle stalled. I was in middle of very busy intersection. It would not move forward. I reversed just in time to miss being slammed into by fast moving oncoming traffic.
The front end collision avoidance “feature” slammed on my brakes so hard today, for zero reason. I was already braking, going less than 20mph and had plenty of room. This is NOT the first time, closer to double digits since I purchase in April. This time the car behind me narrowly avoided hitting me which was made worse as my vehicle takes too long to unlock and allow me to begin driving again. This is going to cause an accident and ruin my tires/brakes costing me money.
I started the car and put it in gear and it would not move. Then the check hybrid system and transmission warning showed up. This happened two times and I had to have the car towed in. The second time, it was determined that it is related to a recent recall for the Oil pump unit OPU Software. This recall is not listed any where and drivers are not being informed of it. Hyundai is not responding to my complaint.
Bought car end of April brand new. June 25 brought in, console display went blank. Tried to start my car 11/10 and it would not recognize the key. Had to have it towed to dealership. Car battery was not dead, fob could start car, open doors, etc, but the car shut off as soon as you tried to start the car inside. Originally told fob problem. Nope. The told security control. Nope. Now being told it’s the BDC, basically the “control brain” of the car. Part is back ordered and my car is sitting parked at the dealership. It’s useless. Did some research and found that the BDC is becoming more and more common with a lot of people that have this car. It’s only 7 months old. No warning, dealer knows it won’t recognize fobs and not a fob problem. I was told, that the screen going blank in June was connected to this.
We were driving on I4 in stop and go traffic. Our speed was under 25 mph and we were over a full car length back from the vehicle in front of us. I was actively braking to come to a stop due to traffic and the forward collision / emergency braking kicked in and stopped us immediately. This caused a car behind us to almost hit us and cause an accident due to sudden stopping. This happened 3 separate times within a 30 minute timeframe with 2 different cars behind us. The system will take control of braking the car and the steering wheel, and will not always give it back immediately to be able to continue driving. This has occurred previously when slowing down due to someone turning in front of us just in every day driving, and has almost caused a wreck then as well. Our local Hyundai dealer said there was no recall or issue with the system. This is dangerous and going to cause an accident sooner or later.
Component that fails & available for inspection upon request? HVAC heat exchange and faulty gas gauge. I drive from Minneapolis to Warroad, MN frequently and the floor wells has insufficient heat hence impairing use and safety in Minnesota's severe climate. I have videos on the following but I am unable to upload videos to your site: (1) when I have heat on high, full blast and to foot well ONLY, the dashboard vent is 115-143 degrees (using a digital food thermometer) and a ~60 degree difference with the footwell at 65-85 (although 85 degrees sounds warm at 1 degree outside my feet are very cold - I would be happy to have you test this with me). (2) Brand new SUV consistently 1.5 - 3 hrs to warm up. I explained to Hyundai this is NOT a software issue rather an HVAC air exchange issue. (3) The gas gauge consistently underestimates the remaining fuel available by 50% in cold weather - an issue that between Bemidji, MN and Baudette, MN (102 miles/1hr 45min) there are few gas stations. On 11/11/2025 I took the SUV to first Bloomington Hyundai - they said it is working as designed. Then 11/20/2025 to Morries Hyundai said they are aware of a similar situation with the EON. However, without an "error code" Hyundai is unwilling to fix the air exchange. Additionally, I opened case#: XXX[XXX] -68 with Hyundai corporate - additionally they are unwilling to admit fault - this vehicle should NOT be sold in Minnesota's extreme climate conditions. How was your safety of others put at risk? If I run out of gas, my passengers and I risk frost bite or fatality of hypothermia. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer service center? Yes. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer? Yes. Were there any warning messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning messages have ever appeared. On numerous occasions (over 20) the forward collision system just slams on the brakes to a full stop, there was nothing close enough to vehicle to cause this issue. Sometimes it’s caused by rain or wind, sometimes for no apparent reasons. One time it caused a no damage accident as person behind me tapped my bumper. In traffic it is set off often with nothing within a safe distance away. There was no obstacles or sudden movements from other vehicles around me. I have brought the car back too Hyundai 3 times only to tell me either a dumb excuse or nothing is wrong with vehicle. I have seen on forums there are a lot of incidents with this particular car We have serviced the vehichle 3 different times over this issue and were told there is nothing wrong with the vehicle Accident happened in summer so I will say there was a crash in additional details but last date occurrence of automatic stop was this morning
The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) is braking aggressively without a valid hazard, creating a serious rear-end collision risk. Incident 1 [XXX] , approx. 60 mph) : A vehicle legally changed into my lane with safe separation. The FCA system detected this as a collision risk and applied hard braking on the freeway. Following traffic had to brake abruptly and I narrowly avoided being rear-ended. Incident 2 (Intersection U-turn, 15 mph): While completing a permitted U-turn on a green light, the FCA detected a distant cross-traffic vehicle and suddenly braked in the intersection, leaving me stopped in an unsafe position. I set FCA sensitivity to the minimum/“Late” setting after the first event. The false hard-braking continues. Hyundai dealership [Anaheim Hyundai] states “no issue found.” This behavior is repeatable and unsafe. I request investigation into false positives and unintended hard braking, a software remedy, and guidance to disable automatic braking until fixed (warning-only) if permitted by Hyundai.Currently even if it is disabled it resets after the SUV is turned OFF. I realized there are multiple threads on reddit on the same issue for Tuscon 2025 models with some of them resulting in accidents. I was 15 minutes into my commute home on route 9 in Massachusetts when I stopped at a red light. When I took my foot off the brake and stepped on the gas the car would not accelerate more than 5 miles an hour. I was stuck in the intersection for about 10 minutes and had to put on my hazards and get into the right lane and Keep driving at 5 mph until I found a place to pull over and restart the car. When I restarted it it drove ok
FCA system slammed brakes all the way to a complete stop in middle of traffic for no reason. Car in front was slowing down, and I was already braking at more than a safe distance. This is completely unacceptable and extremely dangerous. There needs to be a way to permanently disable this overkill feature that creates way worse problems than it is supposed to solve. There are numerous complaints about this issue from other owners of this model, please help!
