The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that the plastic bushing inside the steering column was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed by the mechanic that there might have been a recall on the vehicle related to the failure. The mechanic referred him to the dealer. The dealer informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle, and he was then referred to the NHTSA.gov website. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
STARTED CAR STEERING WAS HARD COULD NOT TURN . RESTARTED STEERING WAS BETTER. DEALER TOLD WIFE BRING TO DEALERSHIP WITH THEM KNOWING STEERING PROBLEM . THEY TOLD HER NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WILL TAKE TWO MONTHS TO CORRECT. CAR ONLY SEVEN MONTHS OLD. PAID CASH SO I HAVE NO OPTIONS.
