SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD. THESE CARS HAS A DEFECT WITH THE DASHBOARD. I PURCHASE THE CARE IN JAN OF THIS YEAR AND IT WAS IN SUPREME CONDITION AS THE PREVIOUS OWNER KEPT IT IN HER GARAGE. I DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE, SO WHEN THE TEMP REACH OVER 100 DEGREES THE DASHBOARD STARTED TO MELT, PULLING AWAY FROM THE SPEAKERS AND DWINDSHIELD. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT IS UGLY AND JAGUAR WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR PRODUCT AND THAT IT WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED. THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS IS, I KEEP TAKING MY EYES OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE THE GLARE OF THE WINDSHIELD DRAWS MY ATTENTION TO THE DASHBOARD AS I DRIVE. I HAVE SEEN ON LINE THAT MANY CONSUMERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND JAGUAR WILL NOT RECALL IT BECAUSE THEY COST ABOUT $6000 THE HQS WANTS TO GIVE ME $1600 TOWARDS REPLACING, AND I AM TELLING THEM NO..... WHY SHOULD I GO BEHIND JAGUAR AND FIX THEIR DEFECTIVE PART? ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE BY ANY MEANS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS AND I JUST PRAY I DON'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. IN ADDITION, THE DEALERSHIP SELLS A THIRD PARTY WARRANTY THAT IS SUPPOSE TO COVER SUN UV RAY DAMAGES TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY SAID IT IS A DEFECT BY JAGUAR MANUFACTURER---SO THEY WON'T GET STUCK WITH THE BILL. THE INSURANCE COMPANY AGREES AND WILL NOT COVER THE DAMAGES AS A COMPREHENSIVE LOSS. NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND IS PASSING IT ON TO THE CONSUMER WHO IS NOT AT FAULT. I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT I NEED A NEW AIRBAG FROM THE RECALL AS OF JULY 29, 2016. NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN UNDERTAKEN AS OF YET. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE REASON FOR THE DELAY.

2011 JAGUAR XFR SUPERCHARGED DASHBOARD GLARE & VISIBILITY OBSTRUCTION THE LEATHER DASHBOARD ON THE JAGUAR XFR SUPERCHARGED HAS BEGUN TO SEPARATE, RIPPLE, & BUBBLE. RESULTING IN A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS THE RIPPLING (LOOKS SIMILAR TO WAVES) CAUSES THE SUN TO REFLECT / GLARE DIRECTLY TO THE WINDSHIELD & INTO THE OPERATORS EYES. THE RESULT, UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCE (HIGH NOON, VERY SUNNY DAYS, DUSK/DAWN), IS COMPLETE VISION IMPAIRMENT.

TAKATA RECALL - IT HAS BEEN OVER 8 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE NOTICE OF THE RECALL. EVERYTIME I CALL THE JAGUAR NUMBER LISTED IN THE LETTER, I AM TOLD THEY HAVE NO IDEA OF WHEN THEY MIGHT BE STARTING REPAIRS. I DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL THERE IS A FATALITY TO GET SOMEONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THERE IS A RECALL NUMBER BY NHTSA 16V-373 AND MANUFACTURERS RECALL NUMBER JD69 BUT IT IS UNDETERMINED WHAT THE PROBLEM IS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JAGUAR XF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V521000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
BUBBLING DASHBOARD
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DOES NOT PROPERLY WORK AND THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO REPAIR. MY WIFE WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 100 POUNDS AND THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THE AIR BAG IS DESIGNED TO NOT WORK FOR PASSENGER 100 POUNDS OR LESS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I WOULD LIKE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING AND THERE WAS FUEL ODOR PRESENT. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING AND THE FUEL INJECTOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V521000(FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
MY GEARSHIFT SELECTOR KEEPS GOING OUT I WAS IN THE DRVE THROUGH, PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK BECAUSE I WAS IDLING TOO LONG, TRIED SHIFTING BACK INTO DRIVE VEHCLE WOULD NOT SHIFT, 2 HOURS LATER AFTER SEVERAL ANGRY CUSTOMERS MY VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, GET HOME TO PUT INTO PARK VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT TO PARK, SO NOW IM STUCK IN DRIVE, COULDNT DO ANYTHING BUT SIT AND WAIT NOTHING, SO I HAD TO SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND DOING SO VEHICLE ROLLED WITH NO BRAKES HITTING VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, LUCKILY IT WAS MY VEHICLE, VEHICLE HAS NOT REVERTED BACK TO OPERATION STILL STUCK IN DRIVE

I WAS ACCELERATING AWAY FROM TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND THE THROTTLE JAMMED OPEN. I HAD TO SWITCH INTO NEUTRAL TO REDUCE THE REVS AND BRING THE CAR UNDER CONTROL. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER SAYS THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DESIGNED TO NOT WORK FOR PASSENGERS 100 POUNDS OR LESS AND SAYS THAT THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE TO WITHIN THEIR DIAGNOSTICS. I BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND JAGUAR REFUSES TO CORRECT THE ISSUE OR RETURN OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE. THE AIRBAGS ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE NOT BEEN ENGINEERED CORRECTLY AND JAGUAR NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ERROR. MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE AS A PASSENGER IN THIS CAR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FOR MY WIFE, WHO WAS PRESENT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. JAGUAR FAILED TO MENTION AT TIME OF PURCHASE THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT WORK FOR A PERSONAL WHO WEIGHS 100 POUNDS OR LESS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE, CURRENT MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
PROBLEM: AUTOMATIC SPEED LIMITER MALFUNCTION WHILE TRAVELING AT 69 MPH SETTING. PAGE 87 OF OWNER'S HANDBOOK STATES" IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS, SUCH AS A STEEP DOWNHILL GRADIENT", THE VEHICLE SPEED MAY EXCEED THE SET SPEED LIMIT. THIS IS BECAUSE ENGINE BRAKING IS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN OR REDUCE THE VEHICLE SPEED. ASL ALLOWS SELECT BETWEEN CRUISE CONTROL AND ASL. ONCE SET, FURTHER ACCELERATOR PETAL PRESSURE WILL NOT INCREASE SPEED BEYOND SET SPEED. SYSTEM FAILED, AND A SURGE IN SPEED TO 90 MPH FROM SET 69 MPH HAPPEN.INCIDENT IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO JAGUAR OF HUNTINGTON,1249 E. JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON, NY, 11743(631-427-2708) TECH COULD NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT AT THAT TIME. ACCELERATOR PRESSURE HAD BEEN APPLIED DUE TO MANY HOURS OF OPERATING FROM TRIP FROM FLORIDA TO HUNTINGTON, NY(SELLING DEALER'S LOCATION). ASL MAY HAVE BECOME DISABLE AND ERRONOURSLY RESPONDED TO PETAL POSITION. HARD BRAKING APPLIED TO AVOID COLLISION WITH MERGING VEHICLES ON I 95 IN MARYLAND. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING NORTH ON I-75 AND EXITED AT HIGHWAY M-24. AS WE TURNED RT., THE LEFT FRONT TIRE LOST AIR PRESSURE (LT. FRONT CAR TIRE WAS RECENTLY CHANGED AND NOT SURE PROPER SEALANT WAS USED WHEN INSTALLING NEW TIRE) AND THE CAR SUDDENLY SHOT TO THE LEFT AND WE WENT OVER AN EMBANKMENT INTO A DITCH FOR APPROX. 20 FEET THEN SHOT UP AND OVER AN EXPRESSWAY ENTRANCE RAMP INTO A STEEL BARRIER. THE SEAT BELTS WERE ON BOTH OF US AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WE BOTH SUFFERED SEVERE BLUNT FORCE BODY TRAUMA AND HAD TO BE TAKEN BY EMS TO THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. RECOVERY HAS BEEN SLOW AS WHIP LASH AND BACK INJURIES JUST DON'T SEEM TO WANT TO HEAL. ON ANOTHER NOTE, MY RIGHT EAR WAS DAMAGED BY THE EXPLOSION FROM THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND NOW I HAVE HIGH SHRILL RINGING 24/7 AND CAN'T SLEEP. I HAVE BEEN TO HEARING SPECIALISTS AND THEY SAY IT IS TENITIUS (SPELLING) BUT THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY SOLUTION. DOES ANYONE IN GOVERNMENT HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS? THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED WHICH EMITTED A LOUD CONSTANT SQUEAKING AND GRINDING NOISE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME DEFECT. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY BRAKE DUST ACCUMULATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND THE VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS ON HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY TRAVELLING 60 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED.. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND THE SPEED FAILED TO DECREASE. I APPLIED THE BRAKES WHICH DID WORK BUT THE ENGINE STILL CONTINUED TO RACE. . THE BRAKES OVERTOOK THE ACCELERATION AND SLOWED THE CAR BUT EACH TIME I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKES THE CAR RESUMED ACCELERATING AT A HIGH SPEED( WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS.) I SLOWED THE CAR BY APPLYING WITH FORCE THE BRAKES WHICH WAS CAUSING A BURNING SMELL PROBABLY FROM THE BRAKE PADS. I DROVE THE CAR TO THE CLOSEST SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY ( ABOUT 1/2 MILE) THAT I ENCOUNTERED AT WHICH POINT I PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL WHILE IT WAS STILL MOVING SLIGHTLY WHILE MY FOOT PUSHING HARD AGAINST THE BRAKE.. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE STILL CONTINUED TO RACE ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THAT POINT. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND THEN WAITED ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. AFTER FIVE MINUTES I TURNED ON THE ENGINE AT WHICH TIME IT WAS NOT RACING. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO MY JAGUAR DEALERSHIP AND LEFT THERE FOR THREE DAYS. A REPORT WAS SENT BY THE DEALER TO JAGUAR ALTHOUGH MY DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *TR

I PURCHASED A 2011 XF THE LAST DAY OF JULY 2010. DURING THE TEST DRIVE AND DURING THE FIRST WEEK, THE CAR HESITATES (FEELS LIKE IT IS RUNNING OUT OF GAS) AND THERE APPEARS TO BE GRINDING UNDER THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. I PURCHASED A 2011 JAGUAR XF IN JUNE 2010. WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK, THE CAR SUDDENLY CUT OFF AS WE WERE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AT LESS THAN 20M MPH. THE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT MOVE.
