The contact stated that as a result of the failure, the vehicle hydroplaned and collided with a jersey wall. The contact sustained back and neck injuries; however, no medical treatment was received. A police report was filed. The contact also stated that none of the air bag deployed during the incident. The vehicle was not towed, and the contact was able to drive the vehicle home with a police escort. The following day, the contact inspected the vehicle and stated that the left side of the steering was movable, but the right side was inoperable. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000. The VIN was not available.
