VIOLENT SHAKING AND VIBRATION OF STEERING CONTROL WHEN BRAKING. THIS CAN CAUSE DRIVER TO PANIC AND LOOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE. DUE TO WARPED BRAKE ROTORS AND WORN BRAKE PADS.
VEHICLE HAS A "WOBBLE" IN THE FRONT END AT SPEEDS FROM 51MPH UP. THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. FRONT STABILIZER SHOCK, ALL FOUR TIRES (TWICE) ALL FOUR RIMS-WHEELS, BOTH AXLES, AND NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CORRECTLY ALIGN THE TIRES. THE PROBLEM DEVELOPED IMMEDIATELY UPON PURCHASE AND WAS SERVICED WITHIN ONE WEEK OF DELIVERY. I MOVED LAST YEAR AND THE JEEP DEALER IN STAUNTON, VA. STATED THAT THE JEEP ENGINEERS ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND ARE TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. THIS IS THE SAME THING I WAS TOLD ALMOST ONE YEAR AGO AND THEY STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I ATTEMPTED TO HANDLE THIS THROUGH ARBITRATION, HOWEVER, AS I TRAVEL A LOT, JEEP TOLD ME MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRENTY AND EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED THE SIX-YEAR, 100,000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY, THEY DENIED ANY CLAIM I MAY HAVE AGAINST JEEP. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CONTINUOUS WOBBLING WILL NOT ONLY SPEED UP TIRE WEAR, BUT OTHER COMPONENTS MAY VIBRATE LOOSE.*AK
VEHICLE ROLLED IN REVERSE WHILE IT WAS PUT IN PARK, AND IGNITION WAS TURNED ON. VEHICLE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN VEHICLE. *AK
FRONT END WAS VIBRATING AND BRAKES WERE GRABBING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER CHANGED ROTORS AND PADS.*AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ROTORS WERE DEFECTIVE. *YH
FRONT BRAKES ROTORS ARE CORRODED AND ARE PREMATURELY WEARING. CAUSE UNKNOWN.*AK
HAD TO SERVICE BRAKES FOR THE 3RD TIME AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE BRAND NEW. DEALER AND MANUFACTURE HAD BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
THESE VEHICLES DEFINITELY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH FRONT END VIBRATION AND ROTORS. 5401 MILES I NEED NEW ROTORS, AT 23,000 MILES NEW BRAKES AND RESURFACING ROTORS AND REPLACING BEARINGS. DEALER NOW SAYS IT IS NORMAL WEAR. I DON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE THAT FAR MAYBE 20 MILES A DAY IF I'M LUCKY. NOW THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT. ROTORS HAVE REQUIRED TURNING 4 TIMES WITHIN 30,000 MILES. DT
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THERE WAS PULSATION AND THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON 6 OCCASIONS FOR THE ROTORS. *JB
WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIDAS AND THEY SAID THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. *NLM
THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES SINCE JANUARY 2003. THE BRAKES LOCKED TWICE AND DAMAGED THE ROTORS. ALSO, EXPERIENCED VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND PULSATION IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. ON 6/6/2003 THE ENTIRE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS REPLACED BY SEARS AUTO SHOP. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME SYMPTOMS. *AK
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. VEHICLE SHAKES WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. *AK
DESIGN FLAW IN DEGRADATION OF THE SEALS ON THE DRUM OF THE VEHICLE'S ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM.*MR THIS ALLOWED MORE MOISTURE INTO THE DRUMS, CAUSING UNPREDICTABLE LOCKING OF THE VEHICLE'S REAR BRAKES. SUCH LOCKING COULD CAUSE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL. CONSUMER MADE MANY ATTEMPTS TO FIND A RESOLUTION WITH JEEP AND LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DIVISION, TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALERSHIPS ADMITTED THE PROBLEM WAS ENDEMIC TO THE DESIGN AND REPLACING THE BRAKES WOULDN'T ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM- IT WOULD COME BACK IN TIME. THEY ADMITTED IT'S AN INHERENT FEATURE, BUT STATED THEY HAVE NO PLANS TO ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY IT. OTHER THAN THE BRAKE PROBLEM, THE CONSUMER WAS PLEASED WITH THE PURCHASE. *PH *JB
WHEN MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN ,THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT COME BACK AUTOMATICALLY. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOUR TIMES BUT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *AK THE SERVICE DEALER HAD DONE EVERYTHING THAT THE MANUFACTURER SAID TO DO IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINED THE SAME. *SCC *JB
A FUEL LEAK. RECALL 00V159000 WAS ISSUED FOR THE FUEL TANK VENT TUBE WELDS; BUT, THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
TRUCKS REAR SEATS DO NOT COME EQUIPPED WITH A HEAD REST. CONSUMER FEELS "DUE TO THE OCCUPANTS HEAD NOT BEING PROTECTED THEY COULD SUSTAIN SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES IF VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT". THE REAR SEAT BACK IS VERY LOW. *PH *PH
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS MOVING IN REVERSE WHEN ACTUALLY IT WAS IN PARK. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON PERIODICALLY. *AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A BRAKE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM INCLUDED PREMATURE WARPING OF BRAKE ROTORS AND CALIPERS. ROTORS WERE REPLACED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. *AK
