The contact indicated that the audible chime was present with or without the seat belts being secured. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. Side curtain air bags didn’t deploy during rollover

The contact had attempted several times to connect the seat belt until they pressed on the release lever on the seat belt to hook into place in the buckle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 180,000.
I WAS ON A SIDE STREET AND ROLLED OVER I HAD JUST BOUGHT THE CAR NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED
4 OUT OF 7 SEAT BELTS WILL NOT CLICK IN. ONE OF THOSE THAT WON'T CLICK IN CAN SOMETIMES GO IN BUT THEN IF PULLED WILL COME OUT.

WHEN CONNECTING THE SEAT BELT, THE RED BUTTON HAD TO BE PRESSED IN ORDER FOR IT TO LOCK AND SECURE. ONCE LOCKED, THE WARNING INDICATOR WOULD ERRONEOUSLY ILLUMINATE, INDICATING THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT LOCKED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. REEDMAN TOLL CHRYSLER JEEP (300 BALTIMORE PIKE, SPRINGFIELD, PA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
WHEN MOVING AT A SPEED OF GREATER THAN 3MPH, THE PASSENGERS SEAT SEATBELT SENSORS INDICATES THE PASSENGER IS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT AND SINGS CONSTANTLY. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT REGISTER THAT THE SEATBELT IS ENGAGED.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
I JUST PURCHASED THIS 2006 JEEP COMMANDER AND NOTICED AFTER PURCHASE THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. READ LATER THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. DID MANUFACTURER EVER PUT OUT A RECALL FOR THIS? IS THIS A SENSOR ISSUE?
FIRST THE SEAT BELT WOULDN'T CLICK INTO PLACE WITHOUT PRESSING DOWN THE RED BUTTON. NOW EVEN IF YOU DO THAT THE SEAT BELT LIGHT/DINGS WILL BE ON THROUGHOUT THE RIDE. I SEE ON THE INTERNET MANY OTHERS HAVING THIS ISSUE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD @ 40 MPH & MY HORN STARTED SOUNDING NON STOP & KEPT DRAINING MY BATTERY. TURNS OUT IT IS A FAULTY CLOCK SPRING, & MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 51K. THE PART TO FIX IS RETAILED OVER $800 & YOU CANNOT GET AHOLD OF ONE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. WAS TOLD CHRYSLER WILL NOT DO A RECALL BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS OVER 10 YEARS OLD, BUT IT ONLY HAS 51K & THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER JEEP/CHRYSLER MODELS. SINCE IT IS HOOKED TO MY AIRBAG, THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT CHRYSLER DOES NOT SEE IT THAT WAY. WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER JEEP BECAUSE OF THIS.

FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS CAN ONLY BE BUCKLED IF THE RELEASE BUTTON IS DEPRESSED. SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT IS ON.
PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT IS SHORTER THAN DRIVER SIDE. PASSENGER SEATBELT IS ALWAYS TIGHT ON THE AVERAGE SIZE PERSON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,721.
WE HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP 3 TIMES. THIS LAST TIME IT STILL DOES NOT START. THE FUEL PUMP IS GETTING POWER, WE TRACED THE POWER ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE FUEL PUMP AND IT IS GETTING POWER BUT IT IS NOT KICKING ON. WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR WIRING DIAGRAMS TO TRACE THE LINES BUT NO AVAIL. IF WE GET IT TO RUN IF IT GETS SHUT OFF WE CANNOT GET IT TO RESTART SOMETIMES FOR DAYS. WE HAVE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AT TIMES AND IT WILL START FOR A TIME OR TWO BUT IT GOES BACK TO NOT STARTING AGAIN. WITH THE AIR BAG, THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON IN THE DASH AND DOES NOT GO OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO LATCH CORRECTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND AN AUDIBLE INDICATOR WAS HEARD WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE JEEP STORE (810 NJ-35, OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ 07712 (732) 774-6500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY FAILURE THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT GOOGLED THE FAILURE AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 205,000.
REAR SEATBELT LATCHES ARE BREAKING, AND SUSCEPTIBLE TO BREAKAGE. THE ORANGE RELEASE BUTTON ON THE SEATBELTS BREAK EASILY. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THERE'S AN EMERGENCY AND THE OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE MATERIAL IN THE LATCH RELEASE, POSSIBLY TRAPPING THE OCCUPANT. I SUSPECT THAT THE MATERIAL USED FOR THESE PLASTIC RELEASE LATCHES WAS INCORRECTLY SPECIFIED, AND BECAME BRITTLE OVER TIME.
