TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FOB WOULD INADVERTENTLY SPLIT IN HALF. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE KEY FOB WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT REPLACE THE KEY FOB. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
2009 JEEP COMMANDER - START CAR AND ABLE TO REMOVE KEY - CAR WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE/RUN AS NORMAL WITHOUT KEY IN VEHICLE. ALSO KEY FOB WILL GET STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND NOT COME OUT. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THIS HAPPENS ON A DAILY BASIS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP TO FIX ADVISED WIRE MODEL ISSUE. 700.00 TO REPAIR NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY - HOWEVER IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY JEEP COMMANDER, IT STALLED WITH NO WARNING. ALL THE TRUCKS LIGHTS LIT UP AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD NOT WORK. I WAS ABLE TO START IT BACK UP AND DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP ME AS THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE. SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPENED AN ADDITIONAL 2-3 TIMES WITH THE DEALERSHIP STILL UNABLE TO HELP ME. ALL TIMES THE TRUCK HAS STALLED OUT AND I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE AWAY. THE LAST TIME BEING IN SEPTEMBER OF 2012 WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP COMMANDER 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED THEN A FEW SECONDS LATER THE OIL AND ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT RESUMED AS NORMAL. THE MALFUNCTION OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWO TIMES FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR LOCATE THE MALFUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
AFTER 3 HOURS OF DRIVING AS I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, BEGAN BRAKING THE VEHICLE STALLED. (21000 MILES) AFTER STOPPING I TURNED THE KEY TO OFF AND THEN ON BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. I TRIED A SECOND TIME AND THE VEHICLE STARTED BUT RPM'S WERE SPORADIC. AFTER A FEW MINUTES EVERYTHING LEVELED OUT AND DROVE FINE FOR THE REMAINING 3 HOUR DRIVE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN OFF AND ON SINCE STALLING WITH 5 VISITS TO THE DEALER FOR CORRECTION. I NOW HAVE 29000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED O2 SENSORS, REPLACED THE GAS CAP, REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND CLEARED THE FAILURES BUT NOT 10 MINUTES FROM LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COME BACK ON. IT HAS BEEN 8000 MILES AND STALLING HAS STARTED HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH THE DASHBOARD LIT UP AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE KEY. THE SECOND TIME THE DEALER RE-PROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER. NEITHER REPAIRED THE FAILURE. WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT STALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN UNUSUAL INCREASE IN RPMS WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO THE SUDDEN INCREASE IN RPMS AND THE VEHICLE SPEED WOULD DECREASE UNTIL THE RPM'S FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AND NEARLY CAUSED A CRASH. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,600.
