TL* - WHILE CHANGING THE TIRE ON HER 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, THE JACK WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE JACK WOULD ONLY GO UP TO A CERTAIN HEIGHT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO RAISE THE VEHICLE ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE TIRE. HVAC SYSTEM FAILURE ON JEEP WJ. CREAKING NOISES FREQUENTLY HEARD FROM UNDERNEATH DASH, LOAD FAN NOISES HEARD FROM INSIDE DASH. THESE SOUNDS INDICATE THE START OF A BLEND DOOR FAILURE IN THE HVAC SYSTEM. I ASK YOU TO CONSIDER A PARTIAL OR TOTAL RECALL REQUEST TO DAIMLER CHRYSLER ON BEHALF OF THE NHTSA AND JEEP OWNERS AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM. *JB
DEFROSTER ON 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR. ICE BUILDS UP ON WINDSHIELD REDUCING VISIBILITY. *NM
ON JAN. 10, 2007, I WAS IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE WHOLE FRONT END OF MY JEEP WAS SMASHED AND I HAVE TO GET A WHOLE NEW FRONT CLIP FOR IT. ALSO, THE BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK PROPERLY. I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THIS TYPE OF COLLISION. *NM
HEATER BLOWS ONLY COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NO MATTER THE TEMPERATURE SETTING. *NM
I OWN A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED WITH 116,000 MILES. THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE OF THE VENTILATION SYSTEM WERE (1) RAPID FOGGING OF FRONT WINDSHIELD, (2) NO DEFROST ON PASSENGER SIDE OF WINDSHIELD, (3) FOGGING OF FRONT PASSENGER WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD,(4) FAILURE OF PASSENGER HEAT WHILE STILL MAINTAINING DRIVER HEAT FUNCTION, AND (5) ONLY COLD AIR RELEASE ON PASSENGER SIDE OF JEEP. CONSEQUENTLY THE WINDSHEILD AND FRONT WINDOWS DO NOT DEFOG, AND NO HEAT IS PROVIDED FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR AND DASHBOARD VENTILATION SYSTEM. TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, A BLEND DOOR ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1,350 INCLUSIVE OF 8 HOURS OF LABOR. ACCORDING TO THE CERTIFIED SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND ONLINE FORUMS, THIS HAS BECOME A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR 1999-2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES.
UPON GENERAL USE THE PLASTIC PIN IN THE WINDOW REGULATOR (DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT) BROKE DROPPING THE WINDOW DOWN INTO THE DOOR. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT KEEP THESE IN STOCK AS THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. I WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. HOWEVER, AT THE TIME IT WAS 20 DEGREES BELOW ZERO AND I HAD A 6 MONTH OLD BABY IN THE CAR. I HAVE NOT FIXED IT YET AS THERE ARE SO MANY REPLACEMENTS FOR THIS THAT THE ONE FOR MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN FOUND AND THE COST IS VERY STEEP. CHRYSLER HAS ADMITTED THAT THIS WAS A POOR DESIGN AND HAS SINCE BEEN CHANGED. I FEEL THEY SHOULD FIX MY CAR AT THEIR EXPENSE. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. HE RECEIVED RECALL 06V199000 FOR ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT HAS BEEN ABOUT FIVE MONTHS AND THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE RECALL. THE DEALER TOLD HIM A MONTH AGO THAT HE WAS NEXT ON THE LIST, BUT HE HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET.*AK UPDATED *JB
2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SAFETY RECALL F25 ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN**NAR**CC SECOND LETTER RECEIVED 01/22/2007**CC THE CONSUMER RADIATOR FAN FAILED PRIOR TO RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE REPAIRS. *NM
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT WAS INVOLVED IN NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V199000. CONCERNING ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM. ON 10/16/06 CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS, AND IT COULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIRS UNTIL AFTER 1/1/07. ON 01/03/06, THE CONTACT NOTICED COOLANT LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ,AND WHO IS REPAIRING THE VEHICLE FOR THE RECALL, BUT THAT VEHICLE IS MISFIRED. IN ORDER FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHATWAS WRONG WITH VEHICLE THEY WILL NEED TO CHARGE THE CONTACT AN EXTRA FEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE WELL , AND THAT THE VEHICLE HASN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH MISFIRING BEFORE. *AK

TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING WHINING NOISE WAS HEARD UPON TURNING THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT AT LOW SPEEDS, NO PROBLEM AT ALL ON HIGHWAY SPEED. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 99V312000 REGARDING THE STEERING: GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION). THE VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO IDLE ABNORMALLY. APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE COMPRESSION RING WAS BUSTED ,AND THE HEAD GASKET, INTAKE/OUTTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET, AND WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT RECEIVED RECALL # 06V199000 CONCERNING ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN, AND STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD PAY FOR THE ENGINE DAMAGE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE ENGINE. ABOUT EVERY YEAR THE TAILLIGHT/BRAKE LIGHT SOCKETS CORRODE AND THE LIGHTS QUIT FUNCTIONING. CLEANING THEM SOLVES THE PROBLEM. WE LIVE IN PHOENIX AREA AND SO MOISTURE IS NOT A FACTOR. *JB
FAILURE OF CLIMATE CONTROL "BLEND DOORS" WHICH RESULTS IN LACK OF CONTROL OVER HEAT OR A/C ENTERING PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. *TR
THE BLEND DOORS HAVE FAILED 2X. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I NO LONGER HAVE DEFROST ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THIS COSTS OVER $1000 TO FIX. THE BLEND DOORS HAVE FLAPS TO CONTROL THE HOT AND COLD AIR FOR THE HVAC. MINE WAS STUCK ON COLD, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO DEFROST MY CAR. I CAN NOT AFFORD ANOTHER $1000. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AT A REDUCED SPEED, AND THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE DROPPING AT DIFFERENT TIMES INSTEAD OF TOGETHER, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ALERTED.

TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED RECALL 06V199000 ON 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE RADIATOR OVERHEATED. SHE IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AT HITECH AUTO MOTIVE WHERE THE ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN WAS REPLACED. AFTER REPLACING THE RADIATOR ELECTRIC FAN, THE CONTACT WENT TO DAIMLER CHRYSLER TO BE REIMBURSED, AND THEY TOLD HER THAT BECAUSE THE RADIATOR FAN HAD NOT FRACTURED OR SEPARATED THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE SAFETY RECALL REPAIR WORK THAT SHE PAID FOR. *AK
THE BLOWER MOTOR ON MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED FAILED DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH DOORS IN THE HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM. THE REPAIR WILL COST $ 900 - 1,200.00 TO REPAIR. THERE WAS HEAT. THERE WAS COOLING. THERE WAS NO BLOWING TO SEND THAT AIR INTO THE VEHICLE COMPARTMENT. DEFROSTING OF WINDOWS WAS SLOW.THE CONDENSATION EVAPORATED ONLY AFTER THE AIR MOVED ITSELF. I CAN ONLY SWITCH TO "DEFROST", A MINIMAL ASSIST IN THE PROCESS. MY HUSBANDWAS UNWILLING TO DRIVE OR BE A PASSENGER IN THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THE DANGER CAUSED BY THE DEFROSTING PROBLEM (WE HAVE A HOME IN MN AND I WILL BE MOVING THERE SOON) OR DURING THE EXTREMES OF TEMPERATURE DURING WINTER AND SUMMER. THERE WAS A WEBSITE WITH A LONG LIST OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CLAIM. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THERE WAS A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE HEAT GAUGE SPIKED TO 300. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS INSPECTED. THE FLUID IN THE RADIATOR WAS AUDIBLY BOILING, AND THE COOLING FAN HAD CEASED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN BACK TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SEEN BY A DEALER. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL# 06V199000, WHICH PERTAINS TO THE COOLING FAN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE VIN.
HEATER DOES NOT WORK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, COST TO FIX IS RIDICULOUS AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING THIS EXPENSIVE HAPPENS SO OFTEN ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE READ DOZENS OF ACCOUNTS FROM OTHER WJ JEEP OWNERS HAVING THIS PROBLEM! *NM
MY VENTILATION SYSTEM IS IN THE PROCESS OF FAILING. I HAVE A LOUD CREATING SOUND COMING FROM UNDERSIDE MY DASH. WHEN I TURN ON THE SYSTEM, IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HEAT/COOL THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO. SOMETIMES THE HEAT COMES ON, SOMETIMES THE COOL COMES ON WHEN THE OTHER IS CHOSEN. SOMETIMES IF IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE FLOOR ITS ON THE DEFROSTER. ALSO, THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT HEATER ACTS UP BUT MOSTLY IT DOESN'T WORK.
KEYLESS ENTRY NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL ON FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS. LOCKS MUST BE MANUALLY OPERATED. ACTUATOR MAKES A LOUD GRINDING/DRILLING NOISE. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED RECALL # F25 FOR ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN WAS RECEIVED AFTER THE FAN HAD FRACTURED AND BEEN REPLACED. THE PAPERWORK HAD BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR REIMBURSEMENT. AFTER 4 WEEKS THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AGAIN AND ASKED WHEN THE REFUND WOULD BE SENT OUT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE PAPERWORK HAD BEEN RECEIVED, BUT HAD NOT BEEN REVIEWED AND WOULD TAKE UP TO 8 WEEKS.

CONSEQUENTLY,(1) THE WINDSHIELD AND FRONT WINDOWS DO NOT DEFOG, AND (2) NO HEAT WHATSOEVER COMES FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR AND DASHBOARD VENTILATION SYSTEM. TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, A "BLEND AIR DOOR" IS NECESSARY AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1,400. ACCORDING TO THE CERTIFIED SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND ONLINE FORUMS, THIS HAS BECOME A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR 2000-2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED'S WITH DUAL ZONE VENTILATION SYSTEMS. GIVEN THE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF 110,000, I THOUGHT IT A REASONABLE FAILURE. LATER I FOUND OUT THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE. 14 MONTHS LATER, THE HEATER BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN AND SEEMED NOT TO RESPOND TO THE CONTROLS. THE SHOP SAYS IT IS THE "BLEND DOORS" AGAIN! I TOLD THEM THEY WERE REPLACED 14 MONTHS EARLIER AND THEY REPLIED IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS EVERY SERVICE COORDINATOR AT THIS PARTICULAR DEALERSHIP HAD A SET OF BAD BLEND DOORS UNDER THEIR DESK TO SHOW PEOPLE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! IF THIS IS SO COMMON, IT SEEMS THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT! 14 MONTHS EXPECTED LIFETIME?? $3K IN 14 MONTHS JUST TO GET A HEATER WORKING? TOO MUCH! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!! *TR
I WAS IN A CAR WRECK INVOLVING MYSELF AND ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHEN A THIRD VEHICLE CHOSE TO STOP FOR NO APPARENT REASON IN AN INTERSECTION WITH A GREEN LIGHT. WE WERE TRAVELING AT MAYBE 40 MILES PER HOUR. I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO REACT AND RAN SQUARELY INTO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. MY AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT, BUT NOT PROPERLY, AS THE SHOULDER BELT WASN'T ACROSS MY CHEST. HOWEVER, WHEN THE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY, MY HEAD SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL, CAUSING INJURY. I HAVE CONTUSIONS TO MY UPPER JAW, THE LOWER HALF OF MY NOSE, MY UPPER LIP, AND CHIN. MY FRONT TEETH WERE KNOCKED LOOSE, AND IT IS UNKNOWN YET IF THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RECOVER, A ROOT CANAL MIGHT HAVE TO BE DONE. I BROKE A FINGER ON MY LEFT HAND,, WHEN IT WAS ALSO SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE POLICE, EMT'S, AND FIREMEN ON THE SCENE WERE ALL DISCUSSING WHY MY AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. I FEEL LIKE IF IT WOULD HAVE INFLATED I WOULD NOT HAVE ANY FACIAL INJURIES AT ALL. THE ACCIDENT JUST OCCURRED YESTERDAY, SO I HAVE YET TO FIND OUT IF THERE WAS ANY MECHANICAL PROBLEMS CAUSING THIS FAILURE. *JB
FAN BLADE CAME APART BREAKING THROUGH SHROUD AND DAMAGING RADIATOR. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A NHTSA RECALL LETTER #06V199000 REGARDING ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO REPLACED THE RADIATOR FAN BUT CHARGED THE CONTACT FOR A RELAY SWITCH PART AND LABOR. THE DEALER DID NOT COVER THE PARTS AND LABOR UNDER RECALL, AS STATED IN THE NOTICE RECEIVED BY THE CLIENT.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE DEFROSTER MALFUNCTIONED AND THE WINDOWS FROSTED. THE CONTACT HAD NO VISIBILITY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BLENDING DOOR HEAT ACTUATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,500.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FRONT END SHOOK. AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE ROTORS FOUR TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM RETURNED AFTER FOUR MONTHS.
JUST DISGUSTED WITH THE NUMBER OF REPAIRS I HAVE NEEDED TO MAKE TO THIS VEHICLE. IN THE LAST SIX YEARS THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE: BRAKES REPLACED 3 TIMES AND NEED TO BE DONE AGAIN DOOR WINDOW MOTOR COOLING FAN, RADIATOR EVAPORATOR COILS HOOD LIFTERS-HOOD WILL NOT STAY UP DRIVERS DOOR CLUNKS STARTER COMPRESSOR LEAKING AXLE SEALS AND NOW I HAVE A CRACKED HEAD ON THE ENGINE. THE JEEP JUST FAILED OUT OF THE BLUE. GLAD I WAS CLOSE TO HOME. THIS VEHICLE IS A LEMON. BUY AMERICAN AGAIN--MOST LIKELY NOT. ARE OUR "AMERICAN" VEHICLES BEING BUILT WITH INFERIOR PARTS? OR ARE THEY PROGRAMMED TO BE OBSOLETE WITHIN A FEW YEARS? *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH DOWN AN INCLINE ON SLICK WET ROADS, THE BRAKES SHUDDERED WHEN APPLIED LIGHTLY. PRIOR WARNING OF BRAKE PROBLEMS WAS GRADUAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAN TORE TO PIECES, AND TORE A HOLE IN THE RADIATOR. BOTH THE FAN AND THE RADIATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE WEATHER NOR THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE A FACTOR IN THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE WHEN SHE HEARD A NOISE, SHE TURNED HER CAR OFF, AND THEN TURNED IT ON AGAIN AND IT WAS MAKING SO MUCH NOISE THAT SHE TOOK IT TO BE INSPECTED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHEN THE HEATER WAS ACTIVATED, THERE WAS NO HEAT COMING FROM THE VENTS. THE CONTACT ADDED ANTIFREEZE TO THE VEHICLE, BUT THE HEAT STILL WOULD NOT WORK. SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE AND THEY PERFORMED A FLUSH. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE, BUT THE PIPES BECAME HOT. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE REVOLVING BLEND DOORS AND THE HEATING BLEND DOORS. THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR FREE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD PAY A PORTION OF THE REPAIR COST. WHEN SHE WENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED, THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVED, NO ONE FROM THE DEALER CALLED TO INFORM HER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR COST. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN CONTACTED, WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE STEPS BEING TAKEN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO KEEP CHECKING WITH THE SERVICE DEALER FOR INFORMATION ON THE AVAILABILITY OF THE PARTS.

FAILURE OF BRAKES LIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS WHEN CHECKED WERE DUE TO OVER HEATED POWER STRIPS IN MY 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. COULD CAUSE FIRE AND NOW HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH STRIPS AT 200$ EACH PLUS 150$ LABOR-THIS IS ALL FROM POOR DESIGN THE LIGHT BULBS PLUG INTO A BLACK POWER STRIP THAT ACTUALLY HEATS UP FROM THE BULBS MELTING THE POWER STRIP-CAUSING LIGHTS TO NOT WORK-BULBS STILL WORK WHEN TESTED,BUT DUE TO MELTING OF THE BLACK STRIP THE CONNECTION DOESN'T WORK. WE CALLED CHRYSLER MAIN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS ONLY TOLD WERE SORRY, THE AGE OF THE JEEP AND PAST WARRANTY...WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ALL THE PAST DEFECTS SINCE 2000 AND THE FACT WE TRIED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IN 2002 AND GOT NO WHERE AGAIN. NO MATTER THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE...SAFETY IS SAFETY. AND IF BALL JOINTS GO BAD FOR NO REASON AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED THEN, IT SHOULD GO AS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ALL THEIR VEHICLES. *JB
