THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. *JB
WITH LESS THAN 12000 MILES THE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END WOULD SHAKE UPON APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. THE JEEP WAS TAKEN IN AND "ROTORS WERE ADJUSTED." THIS TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 48000 MILES WHERE THE DEALER REPORTED AN "ENGINEERING DEFECT" WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND THAT A TEMPORARY FIX FOR $129.00 COULD BE DONE, BUT THEY SAID I WOULD BE BACK IN AFTER 10,000 MILES SO I FELT I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE THEM INSTALL THE NEW CALIPER, BRAKE AND ROTOR SYSTEM FOR A COST TO ME OF $420.00. THE BRAKE PADS WERE NOT WORN AND THESE MILES WERE HIGHWAY MILES. THIS CALIPER/ROTOR SYSTEM SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO THE DESIGN DEFECT AND NOT CHARGED TO THE CONSUMER. *JB
VEHICLE VIBRATES WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES ALREADY. DEALER HAS RESURFACED FRONT ROTORS 3 TIMES ALREADY (8000 MILES, 15500 MILES AND 16500 MILES) AND REPLACED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS AND CALIPERS WITH 29500 MILES. AFTER ALL THIS REPAIRS, PROBLEMS STILL PERSIST AND NOW VEHICLE IS WITH THE DEALER AGAIN (43000 MILES) BUT DEALER ALREADY TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE ADVISE.
2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LARADO PURCHASED USED IN SEPT 2002. (VIN UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME (I'M AT WORK AND CAR ISN'T WITH ME. IF REQUIRED, I CAN E-MAIL INFO LATER) AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS OF DRIVING THIS JEEP, NOTICED DRIVERS SIDE FRONT SEAT FELT LOOSE. IN APRIL, DECIDED TO CHECK OUT AS SEAT WAS TO A POINT OF ROCKING WHEN ENTERING THE JEEP. FOUND THAT FRONT LEFT SIDE (OUTBOARD) BOLT THAT HOLDS SEAT TO SEAT SLIDE HAD PULLED THROUGH AND RIPPED THE METAL BOTTOM OF THE SEAT FRAME. NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED THIS, BUT I'VE HEARD OF MANY OTHERS THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM (INCLUDING SEARCHING THE NHTSA WEB SITE) NOT SURE IF THIS IS A DEFECT, BUT IT COULD PRESENT A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF ANY OF THE REMAINING THREE BOLTS SHOULD HAVE FAILED (SEAT COULD HAVE COLLAPSED BACKWARDS IF THAT HAD HAPPENED).*AK
BAD GASKET IN FUEL PUMP ALLOWS GASOLINE TO FLOW BACK INTO THE GAS TANK WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF.*AK
ROTORS AND FRONT BRAKES WERE REPLACED AT 28,000 MILES. THE FIRST TIME WAS APRIL 2003, AND IN SECOND TIME JULY 2004. THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES HOPPING ON 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO. HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE 20,000 MILES. WILL BE REPLACING THE FRONT BRAKES AT 54,000 MILES. FOUND MANY OTHER JEEP OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. *NLM
BRAKES PULSATE; WHILE BRAKING, VIBRATIONS OCCUR THROUGHOUT BODY OF VEHICLE AND STEERING ASSEMBLY. VEHICLE IN FOUR TIMES FOR REPAIRS, NO FIXES YET AS OF THIS DATE. OCCURS DURING LIGHT, MODERATE AND HARD BRAKING APPLICATIONS. CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ROTORS WARP WITHIN A SHORT TIME FRAME. *NLM
THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *NLM
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. IT HAS DEFECTIVE BRAKE ROTORS. CHRYSLER REPLACED THEM ONCE AT NO CHARGE. AT 24,000 MILES HAD TO REPLACE THE TWO FRONT ROTORS ON MARCH 2003 . AFTER DRIVING ANOTHER 25,000 MILES THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. CURRENTLY, CONSUMER IS HAVING ALL FOUR ROTORS REPLACED AGAIN . A TOTAL OF SIX ROTORS WERE REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE. DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE ROTORS CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE THE CALIPERS. CONSUMER NOTICED WITH THIS LINE OF VEHICLE THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE ROTORS. *AK
2001 GRAND CHEROKEE-ROTORS AND CALIPERS- DEFECTIVE CAUSING SEVERE PULSATING OF STEERING WHEEL UPON BRAKING.
SENT JEEP GRAND CHERROKEE LAREDO TO JAY WOLFE JEEP ON JAN 31 2003 TO CHECK OUT LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR WHICH COMES ON DAILY AND LOW COOLANT WHICH COMES ON EVERY SO OFTEN. VEHICLE HAS BETWEEN 48000 AND 49000 MILES ON IT. WAS TOLD IT WAS SENDING UNIT THEN GOT CALL SAYING THAT IT WASNT AND WOULD HAVE TO DROP OIL PAN. WAS ALSO TOLD NO SIGN OF COOLANT LEAK OR MIX WITH OIL. I NOW HAVE RECIEVED CALL INDICATING THAT IT COULD BE BLOWN HEAD GASKET WITH MILES INDICATED ABOVE. AFTER FURTHER INQUIRE I FOUND THAT NONE OF THE BASIC TESTING WAS DONE TO CHECK FOR OIL AND COOLANT MIX, THIS WAS ADMITED TO ME BY JEFF WHO IS ONE OF THE SERVICE ATTTENDANTS. JEEP SHOULD BE THE ONE PAYING FOR A BLOWN HEAD GASKET WHEN THE CAR HAS THESE LOW MILES ON IT. JEEP DEALER SHOULD ALSO BE COVERING COSTS SINCE THEY FAILED THEIR FUDICIARY DUTY TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE CAR WITH THE BASIC CHECKS.
I OWN A 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THIS MODEL HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF 4 NHTSA SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING THE PREMATURE WEAR AND OR/FAILURE OF THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS, YET DAIMLER-CHRYSLER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AT THEIR OWN COST. I HAVE PAID A TOTAL OF $852.00 ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO REPAIR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME THE ROTORS FAILED WAS AT 29,000 MILES (WELL UNDER THE WARRANTY). I AGAIN HAD TO REPAIR THEM AT 39,000 MILES (ONLY 3 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY). THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER CONSUMERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP!!! *JB
THE AIR CONDITIONER ( A/C) DOESN'T WORK. THE DOOR BLENDS ARE FAILING.*AK
THE FRONT BRAKES IN THE CONSUMER'S 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FAILED TWICE WITHIN 62000 MILES. *NM THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER MAKES FAULTY ROTORS THAT WARP, THAT CAUSED THE FRONT BRAKES TO PULSATE SO BAD THE CONSUMER HAD DIFFICULTY COMING TO A STOP. *JB
HAVE NOTICED AN UNEVEN BRAKING AND SHAKE IN THE FRONT WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THAT THE BRAKES BE CHECKED. BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOKED AT THEM THE SERVICE PERSON KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS....WARPED ROTORS. I ASKED IF IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRENTY AND HE SAID NO.....EXTENDED WARRENTY AND HE SAID NO. I TOLD HIM THAT I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 30,000 MILES ON THE CAR, IT'S ONLY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD AND THAT I'VE HAD VEHICLES WHOSE BRAKES LASTED TO 40,000 OR 50,000 MILES. HE SAID HE'S SEEN THESE BRAKES GO AT 20,000! ALSO TOLD ME THAT DIAMLER/CHRYSLER KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM.....HMMMM FUNNY HOW THEY DON'T COVER BRAKES PAST 12 MONTHS/12,000 MILES. SAID THAT HE'D PUT NEW BRAKES ON THAT WEREN'T FACTORY INSTALLED FOR $400 WHEN I GET TIRED OF THE SHIMMERING.....AND GUARANTEE THEM FOR THE LIFE OF MY VEHICLE.
WHILE APPLYING PRESSURE TO MY BREAK PEDAL FRONT WHEELS BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED ON EXPRESSWAY. TOOK VEHICLE TO JEEP DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE IS A PRODUCT PROBLEM WITH FRONT ROTORS, CALIPERS AND PADS AND THAT MANUFACTURER HAS ISSUED AN UPGRADE KIT. DEALER SAID HE SEES THIS ON MANY, MANY GRAND CHEROKEES. I HAD JUST HAD MY PADS REPLACED 14,000 BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. JEEP DEALER COULD NOT WORK ON MY VEHICLE FOR A WEEK SO I HAD TO HAVE NEW ROTORS AND PADS PUT ON BY ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY. CALLED CHRYSLER-JEEP CONSUMER HOTLINE. ASKED IF THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND IF THEY KNEW ABOUT THE NHSTA SUMMARY BULLETIN NUMBER. I WAS TOLD IF I PERSISTED IN SEEKING AN ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION I WOULD BE DISCONNECTED. I ASKED AGAIN AND WAS DISCONNECTED. WHAT KIND OF STONE WALLING IS HAPPENING HERE? PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS INCIDENT. I HAVE READ OF OTHER WHERE ROTOR HAD BROKEN OFF AND CAUSED WHEEL TO LOCK UP. TS
ENGINE REPLACEMENT DONE, NEW ENGINE BLOWN NOW. THIS VEHICLE DRIVEN IN NORMAL FASHION. HIGHER MILEAGE THAN NORMAL DUE TO TRAVELING 64 MILES EACH WAY TO AND FROM WORK EACH DAY. OIL PRESSURE DROPS TO ZERO. ENGINE KNOCKS SO LOUD SOUNDS AS IF IT WILL BLOW ANY SECOND. THEREFORE, IT IS NOT DRIVABLE. LOW COOLANT LIGHT COMES ON EVERY DAY. WE HAVE SPENT A FORTUNE IN ANTIFREEZE AND IT'S NOT EVEN WINTER YET. WHEN PUT IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE WHEELS POP AND CRACK. THEN SOUND AS IF SOMETHING MAJOR HAS BROKEN. PAY OFF ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP IS $31,078.31. THE LEMON LAW DOES NOT APPLY BECAUSE IT DID NOT HAVE PROBLEM UNTIL AFTER 18000 MILES. IS THERE NOTHING I CAN DO. WHILE DRIVING, THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM SHUT DOWN CAUSING VEHICLE TO STOP IN MOVING TRAFFIC. DEALER CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. TS
VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, IN THE PARK POSITION, NO DRIVER IN DRIVER'S SEAT, ACCELLERATED IN REVERSE STRIKING VEHICLE WHICH WAS PARALLEL PARKED BEHIND VEHICLE, CATAPULTED FORWARD, STRIKING VEHICLE PARALLELED PARKED IN FRONT OF VEHICLE.
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAVE WARPED, CAUSING DEMINISHED STOPPING DISTANCE, AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE DURING BRAKING (STEERING WHEEL SHUDDERS). DEALER WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH WE PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UP TO 96000 MILES.

THE ROTORS ON THE FRONT WARP AND WE HAVE THEM RE-SURFACED AND THEY END UP WARPED AGAIN IN A MONTH OR TWO. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED OF A KIT TO REDUCE THE PRESSURE EXERTED ON THE ROTOR BUT THEY WANT THE CUSTOMER TO PAY FOR THE KIT. SO IF THEY HAVE A KIT TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM. DT
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT DISENGAGED FROM THE FRAME AND ABRUPTLY EXTENDED TO THE BACK SEAT. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS OR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
WIFE NOTICED UNUSUAL MOVEMENT IN DRIVER'S SEAT WHILE OPERATING VEHICLE. WE TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION THINKING THAT PROBLEM WAS LOOSE BOLT. DEALER REPORTS THAT SEAT TRACK IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. PROBLEM SEEMS TO INDICATE DESIGN FLAW SINCE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A CRASH OR EXTREME DRIVING. INTERNET DISCUSSION BOARDS INDICATE OTHER OWNERS OF SAME VEHICLE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I SENT A LETTER TO JEEP ON 11/6/02 REQUESTING INVESTIGATION INTO TRACK FAILURE AND AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE A COPY AT YOUR AGENCY'S REQUEST. COST TO REPAIR IS APPROXIMATELY $600 (PARTS & LABOR). WHEN DRIVING AT 50 MPH, CONSUMER STATES IF YOU APPLY THE BRAKES THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THIS IS CAUSING CONSUMER TO LOOSE CONTROL. CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS AND CALIPERS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ROTORS WORE OUT. DEALER NOTIFIED REPAIRED AND REPLACED 8 MONTHS LATER PROBLEM REOCCURRED. CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE. MR THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE VIOLENTLY WHENEVER BRAKES WERE APPLIED-NEW ROTORS INSTALLED, WHICH WERE SUPPOSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND A YEAR LATER THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN, MORE SEVERELY. THERE'S A SHIMMY IN THE FRONT WHEELS WHEN BRAKING-PER INVOICE. DIFFERENT SPECIALISTS HAVE RAISED THE ISSUE AND TRYING TO GET TO THE ROOT OF THE FRAME OUT OF ALIGNMENT. SCC
WHEN BRAKING AT SPEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MPH AND ABOVE, THERE IS A VERY NOTICEABLE PULSATING, SHAKING SENSATION FROM THE FRONT END. I FIRST NOTICED THIS AT ABOUT 12,000 MILES. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS, CALIPERS, AND ROTORS WITH AN UPGRADE KIT--A KIT SPECIFICALLY ASSEMBLED FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE SERVICE REP AT THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM BECAUSE AS THE JEEPS HAD BECOME LARGER AND HEAVIER, THE BRAKING SYSTEM HAD NOT BEEN REDESIGNED TO HANDLE THE ADDED WEIGHT. THE UPGRADE KIT WORKED A LITTLE LONGER THAN THE ORIGINAL PARTS, BUT NOW AT 29,000 MILES--ONLY 17,000 MILES LATER--I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AGAIN. THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP HAS VERIFIED THAT THE ROTORS ARE WARPED AGAIN AND NEED TO BE TURNED OR REPLACED YET ONE MORE TIME. IN TALKING WITH THE SERVICE REPS AT CHRYSLER, I HAVE BASICALLY BEEN TOLD THAT I CAN LOOK FORWARD TO THIS FAILURE OF MY BRAKE SYSTEM APPROXIMATELY EVERY 15,000 MILES. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, BUT AREN'T BRAKES A FAIRLY CRUCIAL COMPONENT OF ANY VEHICLE? SO MUCH IN FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT OFFERED AS AN OPTION--THEY COME STANDARD ON EVERY VEHICLE.*AK
THE ROTORS ON MY 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WARPED AT 12,000 MILES. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS, CALIPERS, AND ROTORS. THE ROTORS WARPED AGAIN AT 29,000 MILES--ONLY 17,000 MILES LATER. DURING BOTH FAILURES, THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE PULSATING, SHAKING SENSATION FROM THE FRONT END WHEN BRAKING AT SPEEDS OF 30-35 MPH AND ABOVE. THE KEY EVENT LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE WAS USE OF THE BRAKES--UNFORTUNATELY THE BRAKES ARE A VERY INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF MY JEEP--AS THEY ARE FOR THE MANY OTHER OWNERS OF 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THIS VERY SAME FAILURE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. BRAKES THAT DON'T WORK OR PERFORM THE WAY THEY ARE DESIGNED AND INTENDED TO WORK ARE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I IMPLORE YOU TO ISSUE A RECALL SINCE CHRYSLER WILL DO NOTHING PAST THE 12,000 MILE POINT. CHRYSLER MUST BE FORCED TO REPAIR THESE VEHICLES WITH QUALITY PARTS OR SOMEONE IS GOING TO BECOME ANOTHER VEHICLE FATALITY STATISTIC. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED THEM THREE TIMES. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY 6-8,000 MILES. *TT

WE OWN A SMALL STORE AND MY HUSBAND HAD PULLED UP TO THE GA TANK TO FILL UP THE JEEP. HE GOT OUT AND PROCEEDED TO PUT GAS IN THE TANK WHEN IT SUDDENLY JUMPED INTO REVERSE AND SPED BACKWARD. THE JEEP WAS GOING AT AN EXCESSIVE SPEED AND THE DOOR WAS OPEN, IT HIT A POST AND BENT THE DOOR BACK. MY HUSBAND PROCEEDED TO JUMP INTO THE JEEP AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SKIDDED TO A STOP. MY HUSBAND PULLED SOME MUSCLES IN HIS CHEST AND BRUISED SOME RIBS. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND A CONSULTANT HAS BEEN SENT OUT, BUT IN MY CALLS TO THE COMPANY I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TALK WITH ANYONE THAT CAN TELL ME WHAT TO DO OR WHERE TO CALL.*AK
CAR WAS IN PARK WITH ENGINE RUNNING WITH NO ONE IN THE CAR AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY JUMPED INTO REVERSE, BEGAN BACKING UP AND PICKING UP SPEED. THE CAR TRAVELED IN A WIDE CIRCLE CROSSING BACKWARDS ACROSS ALL LANES OF TRAFFIC. A MAN AT THE SCENE CHASED THE VEHICLE GOT THE DOOR OPEN AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY THE ONLY OTHER VEHICLE AT THE SCENE WITNESSED WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND MANAGED TO ESCAPE DAMAGE OR INJURY.*AK
THE BRAKE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED/RESURFACED THREE TIMES. THE PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, AND THEY STILL DO NOT STOP THE VEHICLE THE WAY THEY SHOULD. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO HELP, AND THE DEALERS HAVE DONE ALL THEY COULD DO. *AK THE ROTOR BECOME WARPED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY AT 50-60 MPH. THE CONSUMER WAS MADE AWARE THAT THERE WERE MANY 2001 JEEPS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE BRAKES PULSATE WHEN STOPPING, THE VEHICLE PULLED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT AND WHEN HITTING BUMPS, THE LEAKING FRONT STEERING DAMPER WAS REPLACED AND BOTH FRONT ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 TO 40MPH, CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, CAUSING INJURIES TO OCCUPANTS OF VEHICLE.*AK. *JB
THIS SAME SITUATION HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT APPEAR UNTIL THE 4TH INCIDENT. EACH TIME I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ON. I MISSED A TURN, STOPPED, PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, STOPPED AND THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE. HOWEVER, THE CAR ENGINE JUST RACED AND WHEN I PUT THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 35 MPH. I'VE ALMOST BEEN KILLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP (JOE JACOBY) COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM AND NOW REFUSES TO RETURN MY CALLS. I'M NOW DRIVING ANOTHER HOUR FURTHER AWAY (2 HOURS FROM HOME) TO A DEALERSHIP THAT IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I'VE HAD IT IN...LAST TIME I PAID $700 FOR SERVICE. IF I DON'T GET THIS FIXED SOON, EVENTUALLY SOMENE WILL HIT ME AS I PULL OUT AT 35 MPH ONTO A 65 MPH HIGHWAY. UNFORTUNATELY I THINK MY PRETTY SUV IS A LEMON.*AK

I FIRST CALLED THE DEALERSHIP; THEY REPORTED THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THIS TYPE OF DEFEAT. THEN I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I LATER FOUND THERE IS AN INVESTAGATION ON THIS HAPPENING TO JEEPS. I DID $8,000 DAMAGE TO MY JEEP AND ANOTHER CAR. NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED. *AK

SUV DRIVER SIDE DOOR HIT TREE, BENDING THE DOOR COMPLETELY FORWARD INTO THE FRONT QUARTER PANEL AND RIPING INTERIOR OF DOOR OFF. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED, OR MORE PROPERTY DAMAGED.*AK
