I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN MY VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. I WAS PULLING A TRAILER & GOING UP A BRIDGE AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH WHEN I LOST CONTROL & HIT THE GUARDRAIL. MY ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT END ON THE DRIVER SIDE WAS SMASHED. IT BENT MY FRAME AS WELL, HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE # JUST TO LET THEM KNOW THAT IT HAPPENED, JUST SO THEY WOULD HAVE A RECORD OF IT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDELY BY A "CUSTOMER SERVICE" REP IN ALL OF MY LIFE, HE ACTUALLY HUNG UP ON ME WHEN I ASKED FOR HIS NAME. I CALLED BACK TO REPORT HIM AND WAS DISCONNECTED AGAIN. I AM NOT SUING. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT HURT. BUT I WAS SURPRISED THAT YOU COULD HAVE AN IMPACT THAT HARD & SEVERE AND THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOY. I WILL BE VERY SURPRISED IF MY JEEP IS NOT TOTALLED.*AK
(1) I PULLED THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TO A STOP IN FRONT OF A SELF-SERVE CAR WASH BAY WHERE THE PREVIOUS USER HAD LEFT THE CAR WASH WAND HANGING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BAY. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, I OPENED THE DRIVER DOOR AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK; THEN PROCEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE TO MOVE THE WAND. (I DID NOT TURN THE IGNITION OFF SINCE I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 10 FEET TO MOVE THE WANDER OUT OF THE WAY.) WHILE I WAS STANDING BETWEEN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND OPEN DOOR, THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. 2) THE FAILURE WAS THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFT SLIPPING FROM "PARK" TO "REVERSE", OR BEING IN THE "PARK" GEAR ENOUGH TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND ALLOW ME TO GET OUT, BUT NOT "LOCKING" IN THE "PARK" GEAR, AND THUS SLIPPING BACK TO "REVERSE". AFTER I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS, TOO FAST FOR ME TO GET INSIDE TO APPLY THE BRAKE. THE DRIVER'S DOOR GOT CAUGHT ON A NEARBY VACUUM STRUCTURE, CAUSING THE DOOR TO SPRAIN. THE BACK END OF THE JEEP ROLLED OVER A LOW CEMENT WALL WHICH IS AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE CAR WASH. THE CENTER OF THE VEHICLE GOT HUNG ON THE WALL, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND DAMAGE TO THE TRANSFER CASE AND UNDERBODY. (3) NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE WILL REQUIRE A NEW DRIVER'S DOOR AND FRONT SIDE PANEL, AND A NEW TRANSFER CASE. TOTAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE- APPROX. $5,000. *AK
SERVICE BRAKES ? PROBLEM WITH ROTORS. VERY DANGEROUS FRONT WHEEL WOBBLE WHEN BREAKS ARE TOUCHED AT HIGH SPEEDS. ALSO HAVE SLOW PULSE PRESSURE ON BRAKE PEDDLE AT LOW STOPPING SPEED DUE TO ROTORS THAT HAVE WARPED, AGAIN. *AK HAD TO FIGHT WITH DEALERSHIP TO RESURFACE ROTORS AT 20K AND THEY HAVE AGAIN REWARPPED AT 24K CAUSING AN INTERMITTENT HIGH SPEED WOBBLE WHEN THE BREAKS ARE TOUCHED. WE HAD A 2002 MODEL AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT THAT AFTER REPLACING THE ROTORS TWICE, ON THIS VEHICLE, THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH JEEP AND WAS DUE TO THE POOR QUALITY OF MATERIAL USED IN THE ROTORS THAT CAUSE THEM TO WARP. CAR IS IN OUR LOCAL INSTALLER TODAY INSTALLING BETTER QUALITY ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. MY QUESTION IS WHY NO RECALL IF THIS IS AN OLD PROBLEM WITH ALMOST EVERY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT IS OUT THERE.
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. OWNER WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE BEGAN ACCELERATING. OWNER HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKES, AND HAD TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. *AK
I OWN TWO JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES 2003 MODELS, BOTH PURCHASED IN DEC 2002. BOTH OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS, CONSISTING OF WARPPED BRAKE ROTORS. I HAVE OWNED 9 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES SINCE 1992. 6 OF THE NINE JEEPS HAVE HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS. 4 OF THOSE JEEPS HAVE HAD THEIR BRAKES REPAIRED OR REPLACED AT NO CHARGE TO ME. HOWEVER THE 2003 JEEPS I CURRENTLY OWN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD THEM BOTH REPAIRED IN 2004 AND I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IN 2005. ONE OF THE JEEPS HAS 13,000 MILES SINCE THE 2004 REPAIR AND THE SECOND ONE HAS 7570 MILES ON IT SINCE THE 2004 REPAIR. MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CALIPERS USED TO APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PADS NEVER FULLY RELEASE, THEREFORE THERE IS ALWAYS SOME PRESSURE BEING APPLIED TO THE ROTOR AND THE ROTOR IS WARPPED FROM THE HEAT CAUSED BY THE PAD BEING CONSTANTLY IN CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR. *AK

2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED DRIVERS-SIDE SEAT HEATER MALFUNCTIONED. DRIVER'S SEAT HEATING ELEMENT STARTED TO SMOKE, A BURNING SMELL WAS EVIDENT. SEAT HEATER WAS DEEMED INOPERABLE BY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF SANTA FE. CONSUMER ASKED FOR WARRANTY ADJUSTMENT, BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. CONSUMER PAID FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS, SEAT PAD AND LABOR. *JB
RE: 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND SUDDENLY THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS AND DURING RAINY/SNOWY WEATHER THE WINDSHIELD FAILS TO DEFROST PROPERLY, CAUSING AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION. HAPPENING SINCE 2005. REPAIRED (JEEP ADMITS TO AN IMPROPERLY DESIGNED ORIGINAL PART) AT MY EXPENSE IN 2006, MALFUNCTIONING AGAIN SINCE 2007, NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN. *TR
2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE INTO SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH APPROX. 18,000 MILES. IT WENT IN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. I ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A CHIRPING NOISE IN THE PASSENGER DOOR AREA. AFTER INSPECTION, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE ROTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IF THIS IS TRUE, IT INDICATES TO ME THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM OR A BRAKE PROBLEM. EITHER WAY, I, AS A CONSUMER, DO NOT FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEALERSHIP WANTING ME TO PAY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINS TO SIT AT THE DERALERSHIP. *AK
MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WHEN PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOME WHILE I RAN IN TO GET MY GLOVES JUMPED INTO REVERSE AFTER CLOSING THE DOOR. I WAS AWAY FROM THE TRUCK FOR LESS THEN 1 MIN. AND IT ROLLED IN REVERSE 75 FT STRIKING A NEIGHBORS MOBILE HOME. WHEN I GOT TO THE TRUCK IT WAS IN REVERSE AND HAD EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE WHOLE TAILGATE HATCH AND GLASS. DAMAGE WAS ALSO DONE TO THE MOBILE HOME. I AM CONTACTING A DEALER AS OF FEB. 28 2005. *JB
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION PROBLEM. OWNER WAS PULLING OUT OF THE GARAGE AND VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD, CRASHING INTO THE PARKED VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE, AND FORCING IT THROUGH THE WALL OF THE GARAGE. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE RIGHT BACK TIRE DUG INTO THE GRAVEL UP TO THE GRAVEL. *TC
THE RELAY SWITCH FAILED TO OPERATE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY OWNER AND WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *JB
WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE SEVERELY. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC THAT ROTORS HAD WARPED UNEVENLY AND EXCESSIVELY. THE ROTORS REPLACED ON 4/21/05. *JB *NM
TRANSMISSION MAKING NOISE 1 WEEK AFTER PURCHASE, TOOK IT IN EVERY 2 WEEKS TO HAVE IT FIXED FOR FIRST 2 MONTHS. VEHICLE HAD 40,000 KM. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ANSWER WAS FOR US TO DO TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE (OUR EXPENSE), DID NOT STOP THE NOISE, GAVE UP AFTER WE TOOK VEHICLE BACK 5 TIMES, TERRIBLE SERVICE. HEATER MOTOR FAILED WITHIN 1 WEEK OF PURCHASE, REPLACE MOTOR SWITCH, HEATER FAN MAKING NOISE. REAR END WAS REBUILT 2 TIMES WITHIN FIRST 2 MONTHS OF OWNING VEHICLE. STRUTS NEEDED REPLACING WITHIN FIRST MONTH. SMOKE COMES FROM ENGINE WHEN STOPPED (INTERMITTENT), WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITHIN FIRST MONTH (OUR EXPENSE AGAIN). THIS IS OUR FIRST AND LAST JEEP/CHRYSLER PRODUCT.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 06V197000, SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:SEAT HEATER/COOLER, AND 09V117000, SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:SEAT HEATER/COOLER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR BOTH RECALLS. AFTER BEING REPAIRED HE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS STILL A HOLE DEVELOPING IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT DUE TO THE HEATED SEATING FEATURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED A THIRD TIME. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY OVERHEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ONE TIME A YEAR FOR FIVE YEARS CONSECUTIVELY WHERE THE ENGINE FAN RELAY AND MOTOR WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,742 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE DRIVER'S EXTERIOR MIRROR ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE HEATING ELEMENT. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HAD AN EVAPORATED EMISSION LEAK WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO FAIL INSPECTION. THE FAN RELAY WAS REPLACED FIVE TIMES, THE AIR CONDITION WAS INOPERATIVE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR OF A HOLE THAT DEVELOPED IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT APPROXIMATELY THE SIZE OF A BASEBALL WHICH HE BELIEVED WAS RELATED TO THE HEATED ELEMENT PROBLEMS. UPDATED EVOQ 01/27/11 ..UPDATED 09-17-12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED CHRYSLER HAS CONSIDERED THE CASE TO BE A GOODWILL CASE AND OPENED UP A REIMBURSEMENT CASE IN REGARDS TO THIS VEHICLE. THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS HIT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH FROM THE LEFT FRONT. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*AK
I WAS AT A BANK DRIVE THROUGH TELLER AND HAD PLACED MY VEHICLE INTO PARK TO DO MY PAPERWORK. WHEN I FINISHED I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND PLACED THE CAR INTO DRIVE. THE CAR TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET. I APPLIED THE BREAKS AND THE EMERGENCY BREAK WITH VERY LITTLE OR NO EFFECT. THE CAR PRODUCED OVER 40 FEET OF SKID THEN VAULTED OVER A DRAINAGE DITCH ABOUT 15 FEET WIDE. IT THE IMPACTED ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE DITCH WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO RIP OFF MY FRONT LICENSE PLATE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE UNTIL IT STRUCK A BRICK RETAINING WALL. THE ABS SYSTEM AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT WORK AT ALL. THE TOTAL DISTANCE TRAVELED WAS WELL OVER 200 FEET. *NM
AFTER CONDUCTING BUSINESS AT A DRIVE IN BANK CONSUMER PROCEEDED TO LEAVE. CONSUMER PLACED FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. THEN, HE APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, HOWEVER, IT DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. IT STROKE A FOUR FOOT EMBANKMENT, THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THE VEHICLE WAS A CONCRETE RETAINING WALL, WHICH WAS STRUCK AT 30 MPH. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES DID NOT KICK IN.*AK
THE FRONT ROTORS WARPED. CONSUMER STATED THAT THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME REPLACING THE FRONT ROTORS. ALSO, AFTER 10,000 MILES THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES FROM 60 MPH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE AND PULSATE. THE VEHICLE'S ROTORS WERE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. *NM THE CONSUMER HAS HAD TO CHANGE THE ROTORS EVERY 5000 MILES. *NM
VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CONSUMER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THAT THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED AT 13,000 MILES, AND BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. CURRENTLY, AT 20,000 MILES THE PROBLEM RESURFACED AGAIN. MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONSUMER THAT HE WAS FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. *AK
HAVE OWNED A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS. AT 11,000 MILES HAD A MODERATE PULSATION OF BRAKE PEDAL WITH MODERATE VIBRATION AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKING. DEALER REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY BY TURNING FRONT ROTORS THAT THEY SAID WERE WARPED. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MORE MILES SAME PROBLEM WITH SAME RESULT. DEALER SAID THAT THEY UNDERSTOOD THE PROBLEM, BUT CHRYSLER HAD DECIDED DUE TO SO MANY COMPLAINTS THEY WERE ONLY GOING TO WARRANT FOR FIRST 12,000 MILES/12 MONTHS. I PAID FOR REPAIR. AFTER APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER 10,000 MILES THE PROBLEM RECURRED. IT IS SO SEVER THAT AT BRAKING OF APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND OVER THE VEHICLE IS HARD TO CONTROL AND, WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED LOOSES IT VIBRATES UNCONTROLLABLY. IF YOU ARE MAKING A TURN WHILE BRAKING IN THAT SITUATION, A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER OR ONE NOT EXPECTING IT COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. FILED COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY ALLEGE IT WAS DUE TO DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE FIRST 3,000 MILES WERE HIGHWAY MILES AS WELL AND MANY OF THE OTHERS SINCE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN REGULARLY LONG DISTANCES ON THE INTERSTATE. I DO NOT RIDE THE BRAKES, BRAKE HARD, OR DRIVE WITH TWO FEET. *NM
AT 18,000 MILES THE BRAKES HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE. CONSUMER CONTACTED JEEP, AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO ASSIST THE CONSUMER. *AK
I PUT MY JEEP IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, I STEPPED OUT OF THE JEEP AND THEN THE JEEP WENT INTO REVERSE AND THE OPEN DRIVERS DOOR KNOCKED ME DOWN AND DRAGGED ME. THE JEEP THEN CRASHED INTO 3 PARKED CARS BEFORE IT CAME TO REST.*AK
THE FRONT ROTORS ON MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WARPED OUT OF TOLERANCE BEFORE REACHING 20,000 MILES. WHILE THE BRAKING ABILITY DID NOT APPEAR TO BE IMPAIRED, THE SHUDDERING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE BRAKING WAS A CONCERN.*AK
NEW 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROCKEE OVERLAND - 18,000 MILES - NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS - ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO WE NOTICED A PULSATING ACTION WHEN BRAKING - THEN, WHILE DRIVING AT 45-55 MPH AND ACTING ON THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE STEERING STARTED SHAKING HARD - TWO DAYS LATER WE TOOK THE JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHANGED THE FRONT PADS (ALSO IF STILL GOOD) AND RESURFACED THE ROTORS AT A COST OF $ 300.00. READING ON YOUR WEB SITE, ABOUT OTHER DRIVERS COMPLAINTS, I AM AFRAID THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE STORY.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT HAS EXPERIENCED FAILURES WITH ALL FOUR WINDOW MOTORS, THE FUEL LINE, THE AIR CONDITIONER, THE WATER PUMP, AND THE FUEL CAP. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC WHO REPAIRED ALL THE FAILURES. HOWEVER, SOME OF THE FAILURES HAVE RETURNED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 50,400 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,029.
MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS FAULTY BRAKE ROTORS. WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AT SPEEDS ABOVE 35 MPH, THE CAR SHAKES AND CONTROL OF THE CAR IS LOST. IT DOES NOT STOP PROPERLY OR QUICKLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FIRST SET OF ROTORS AND BRAKES AT 9,000 MILES. THE SAME PROBLEM IS HAPPENING AGAIN AT 17,000 MILES. THE DEALER AND CHRYSLERDAIMLER CORP. IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY RESPONSIBILITY IN THE DEFECTIVE BRAKE ROTORS. (THE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLERDAIMLER CORP. CURRENTLY). *JB
DT: CONSUMER OWNED A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE,, IT HAD 50,000 MILES ON IT. VEHICLE HAS GONE THROUGH THREE SETS OF ROTORS. WHEN BRAKING THE VEHICLE SHOOK;. ROTORS WERE FIRST REPLACED AT 18,000 MILES. THE REAR WHEELS WERE STILL SHINY. THREE SETS ON THE FRONT AND ONE SET ON THE REAR WERE REPLACED. THE BRAKE PADS WERE EFFECTIVE, BUT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE FIRESTONE SERVICE CENTER. *AK

AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE - ALL YEARS (INTERNET BASED RESEARCH) THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY SAID THAT THESE PARTS (BRAKES AND ROTORS) ARE ONLY WARRANTEED FOR ONE YEAR OR 12K MILES. MOST OTHER PARTS ARE WARRANTEED FOR 3 YEARS AND 36K MILES. THIS PROBLEM IS KNOWN BY THE MANUFACTUER (CHRYSLER) AND THEY HAVE HAD THIS SAFETY PROBLEM FOR YEARS OF PRODUCTION WITH THIS MODEL. BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MANUFACTUER REFUSE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. DUE TO THIS KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE BY CHRYSLER AND THEIR GREATLY REDUCED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON JUST THESE ITEMS (WHICH INDICATES THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM) IT IS DETERMINED THAT A SAFETY ISSUE EXISTS THAT COULD HAVE OR ALREADY HAS CAUSED INJURY TO OTHERS. *AK

WAS INFORMED OF THE POTENTIAL FAILURE OF GEN 3 SEAT BELTS THROUGH A WEBSITE. I PERFORMED MY OWN "ELBOW" TEST ON THE SEAT BELTS IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DISCOVERED THEY UNLATCHED DURING MY SIMULATION. *LA

THE STEERING GEAR BOX HAD TO BE REPLACED THREE TIMES. THERE WAS A BANGING NOISE, WHICH COULD BE FELT THROUGH THE FLOOR BOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT COOPERATE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM

ON 03-19-04 I TOOK MY JEEP FOR REPAIR BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING. ON 07-12-04 I MADE A RETURN VISIT BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING AGAIN. ON 04-13-05 I RETURN BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING AGAIN. THE THIRD TRIP TO SALERNO DUANE CAME NINE MONTHS LATER, ON APRIL 13, 2005 AT 22,731 MILES. AGAIN, SERVICE ADVISOR REPORTED THAT THE FRONT ROTORS WERE ROUGH AND WERE RESURFACED. WHEN ASKED IF THIS WORK WOULD BE COVERED BY A WARRANTY AS WELL, WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY NECESSARY DUE TO PAST EXPERIENCE, MANAGER SAID SHE BELIEVED IT WOULD BE. WHEN I REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION AS PROOF TO THAT STATEMENT, SHE REFUSED. I THEN ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, A MR. G WHO WAS, LESS THAN PROFESSIONAL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT, JUST PLAIN RUDE IS MORE ACCURATE. HE REFUSED TO WARRANTY THE WORK THAT HAD BEEN DONE ON MY VEHICLE STATING THE PROBLEM WAS NOT SALERNO DUANE, BUT POSSIBLY A CHRYSLER DEFECT. AS OF APRIL 2006 I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM OF MY BRAKES PULSATING. I PHONED SALERNO DUANE ON APRIL 5, 2006 AND SPOKE TO SERVICE MANAGER AND SHE INFORMED ME THE WORK WILL NOT BE WARRANTED AND I WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE REPAIRS. BEING THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM I FEEL THAT THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE THE CAR DEALER RESPONSIBILITY. I AM AFRAID TO CONTINUE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR I FEEL IT IS VERY UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY AND FOR OTHER MOTORIST AND PEDESTRIANS ON THE ROAD. PURCHASED A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED FROM CARMAX ON SEPT 30TH 2002. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, A HIGH PITCH SOUND STARTED TO BE HEARD WHILE THE CAR IS IDLING. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS APPROXIMATELY A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES OR MORE AND NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. INITIALLY, THE DEALER THOUGHT THE NOISE MIGHT BE RELATED TO THE BELT, BUT ONCE THE BELT WAS CHANGED THE NOISE PERSISTED. THE ENGINE WAS ALSO CHECKED AND UNFORTUNATELY THE NOISE IS STILL BEING HEARD AND IT IS MORE PRONOUNCED. THEN ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE, THE HEATING VENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS MALFUNCTIONED CONVIENTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY JUST RECENTLY EXPIRED. IN ADDITION ON MARCH 12TH 2004, UPON BRINGING MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICING, THE MACHANIC SCRAPS THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK REMOVING THE PAINT OFF OF THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND ANTWERPEN JEEP DOESN'T WANT TO COMPENSATE ME. PLEASE ADVISE. ANY INFO THAT YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THIS HAS NOT BEEN A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR ME.
