I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE R06 / NHTSA 15V-046 MANY MONTHS AGO. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO REPAIR MY CAR. I LAST CALLED OVER A MONTH AGO (APRIL 13, 2015), AND THEY SAID THAT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I AM WRITING TO COMPLAINT THAT JEEP IS NOT TAKING REASONABLE, PRUDENT ACTIONS TO ACQUIRE PARTS TO MAKE THE MANDATED REPAIR AND, AS A RESULT, IS PLACING ME (AND, I ASSUME, OTHERS) AT RISK BY FAILING TO ACQUIRE PARTS AND MAKE THE REQUIRED REPAIR IN A TIMELY MANNER.
VEHICLE STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING, POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING AS WELL AS THE POWER BRAKES. DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAY. HAD THE CRANK SENSOR REPLACED DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED BUT THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN ON 12/22/14. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V527000 (AIR BAGS) PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
TO WHOMEVER IT MAY CONCERN, I RECEIVED NOTICE OF A RECALL OF MY VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY OF 2015. THE SAFETY RECALL NUMBER IS R06 / NHTSA 15V-046 OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE. I PURCHASED THIS JEEP NEW AND SINCERELY HAVE CONCERNS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE KNOWING THE SAFETY RISK IN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. I HAVE CONTINUOUSLY FOR OVER 6 MONTHS BEEN TRYING TO GET THE AIR BAG ALARM/LIGHT TO BE FIXED/REPAIRED. JAKE SWEENEY CHRYSLER JEEP, IN CINCINNATI, OHIO, HAS TOLD ME THE NEEDED PART HAS TO BE MADE. THE PART WAS TO BE DELIVERED ORIGINALLY BY 1/25/15 THEN IT WAS CHANGED TO 2/25/15, THEN THE DATE WAS MOVED TO 5/30/15 AND NOW I WAS TOLD LAST WEEK THE DELIVERY DATE IS SHOWN TO BE UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO THE PARK POSITION IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDEPENDENTLY REPLACED THE TIRE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AS THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

WHILE DRIVING NORTH ON I-75 FROM MANATEE COUNTY TO TAMPA TO GO TO WORK, BOTH SIDE AIR BAGS SELF-DEPLOYED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO FERMAN JEEP ON SR 54. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE INCIDENT HAD BEEN ELEVATED AND THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD GO OUT AND CALL ME WITHIN ONE BUSINESS DAY. I CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE HAD BEEN ESCALATED AND THAT I WOULD BE CALLED WITHIN 1-2 BUSINESS DAYS, MEANING THURSDAY. I CALLED THURSDAY AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO WAIT UNTIL 8PM THAT EVENING. NO CALL. I CALLED SATURDAY REQUESTING AN UPDATE ON MY VEHICLE. NO CALL. I CALLED THIS MORNING MONDAY JULY 7, REQUESTED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. I HAVE NO UPDATE ON MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION AND AM DESPERATE TO UNDERSTAND, IF MY VEHICLE CAN BE FIXED. I NEED TEMPORARY TRANSPORTATION. I COMMUTE 100 MILES IN THIS VEHICLE EVERY DAY. I NEED HELP ESCALATING MY CASE TO THE PROPER PEOPLE. THANK YOU. *JS
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED THE ENGINE STOPPED WORKING ALONG WITH AUXILIARY SYSTEMS SUCH AS POWER BRAKES AND STEERING. THE TACHOMETER SLOWED TO 0 RPM AND WE WERE ABLE TO PULL CAR OFF THE SIDE OF ROAD. UPON STOPPING, THE CAR RESTARTED AND NO ODB CODES WERE IDENTIFIED. THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY THROUGH HAS A TENDENCY ON COLD STARTS AFTER VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR WHILE. SINCE LOSS OF ALL POWER IT IS A TREMENDOUS SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
CANNOT GET THE POWER WINDOWS TO WORK..AFTER CLOSING & OPENING THE DRIVER DOOR AND TURNING THE INSIDE LIGHTS OFF & ON IT WORKS VERY RARELY.. THIS STARTED IN EARLY JUNE 2014.... THIS IS UNSAFE WHEN MY GRANDCHILDREN ARE IN THERE CAR SEATS AND THE WINDOWS DECIDE TO MALFUNCTION.. I AM AFRAID THEY COULD EXIT THE JEEP WHILE IT IS MOVING CAUSING INJURY OR EVEN A FATALITY !!! *TR

WE RECEIVED AN AIR BAG RECALL FROM YOU OVER A YEAR AGO (BELOW DATE IS A GUESS ON WHEN SERVICE WAS PERFORMED) REGARDING A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS. WE HAD A DODGE/JEEP DEALER IN INDIANOLA IOWA CHECK FOR RECALL. THAT WEEK AFTER WE HAD VEHICLE BACK FROM THIS DEALER, OUR AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOTHING THEY DID, WAS VERY RUDE TO US AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX IT UNLESS WE PAID FOR REPAIRS. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS NOT ON BEFORE WE TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, BUT AFTER THEY DID WHATEVER TO VEHICLE THIS IS WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON. WITHIN THIS LAST YEAR I HAVE CONTACTED THIS DEALER AND TALKED WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WHICH HE WAS VERY RUDE AND I HAVE LEFT MESSAGES WITH THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER MANAGER OR OWNER OF THE BUSINESS TO CALL ME, AND I STILL CONTINUE TO WAIT FOR A RESPONSE FROM THEM. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO OR YOU TO HAVE THIS RECALL CHECKED TO MAKE SURE REPAIRS WERE DONE?, AND DONE CORRECTLY?, AS WITH THE LIGHT ON AFTER REPAIRS WERE MADE, MAKES ME CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE.

WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A SHUTTER AT ALL SPEEDS. ON THIS DAY AFTER HITTING A SMALL BUMP THE WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AS SLOWING DOWN IT VIOLENTLY SHOOK WHERE YOU COULDN'T HOLD THE WHEEL. I HAD BLISTERS TRYING TO CONTROL IT. I WAS TOLD BRAKES BEARING ETC. REPLACED BRAKES CALIBER ROTORS TIRES WHEEL BEARING STILL DID IT REPLACED STEERING DAMPER AND THE VIOLENT SHAKE WAS GONE YET STILL HAD SHUTTER AT ALL SPEEDS. I'VE BEEN ALL OVER THE FRONT END AND HAD SEVERAL MECHANIC LOOK TO WE CANT FIND ANYTHING ABOUT THE SHUTTER. WHILE DRIVING 12/14/2014 MAKING A CURVE HIT A BUMP IN ROAD AND THE VIOLENT SHAKE STARTED AGAIN ALMOST PUT ME IN A 4 FOOT CALVERT. I BEEN REVIEWING THE SAME COMPLAINT ALL OVER THE INTERNET AFFECT ALL TYPES AND YEARS OF JEEP. WHAT IS THE TRUE PROBLEM SO I CAN FIX THIS BEFORE IT KILLS ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO OPEN RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

DEAR SIR/MADAM: THIS CONCERNS THE M35 RECALL RELATING TO THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (2003 IN MY CASE). YESTERDAY, 2-26-14, THE DEALERSHIP SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED THE FIX TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME THAT I HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT AFTER THEY HAD PRESUMABLY GOTTEN THE PARTS NEEDED TO DO THE JOB. THE PREVIOUS 2 TIMES, IN MARCH AND SEPTEMBER 2013, AFTER GETTING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CONSIDERABLE WAITING, I ENDED BEING TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THE SERVICE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS--'PRIOR TO MARCH 2013, THEY SAID NOT TO KNOW WHAT PARTS WERE NEEDED. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS STILL ON AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT ALLEGING THAT THE RECALL DID NOT PROVIDE FOR THAT. I FOUND THIS ILLOGICAL. ON THE ONE HAND, I BELIEVE THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AND, ON THE OTHER HAND, THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY HAVE NOW FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. AROUND THE TIME CHRYSLER JEEP INFORMED OF THE PROBLEM, MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT TURNED ON. IT TOOK CONTACTS OVER A YEAR'S TIME WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO FINALLY HAVE THEM "CORRECT"' THE PROBLEM AND I AM NOW LEFT WONDERING IF IT HAS INDEED BEEN CORRECTED.
