THE IGNITION SWITCH ON MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED BY JEEP. CURRENTLY THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THE CAR IS "OPERABLE" SO I CAN DRIVE IT UNTIL THE PART COMES IN, BUT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS RECALL CAUSES THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL AT ANY TIME.. YET THEY CONSIDER THIS OPERABLE. TODAY MY CAR STALLED DUE TO THIS RECALL AND I CAME VERY CLOSE TO ROLLING INTO ANOTHER CAR. THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT OFFER A RENTAL BECAUSE THE CAR STILL TURNS ON. I FEEL THIS IS INEXCUSABLE AND UNSAFE BECAUSE I AM OUT DRIVING AROUND IN A CAR THAT CAN STALL ON ANY POINT IN TIME. (I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO MY LIFE.) AS I WAS DRIVING ALONG, THE LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. THE TIRE ALERT LIGHT CAME ON WHICH INDICATED A FAILURE. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE, WHICH WAS GOOD (33 PSI). THE TIRE ALERT LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON AND OFF. THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN WITH THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLLER. ENGINE WOULD START. PROBLEM CONTINUED TO BE INTERMITTENT UNTIL IT STOPPED COMPLETELY.
