THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED PER RECALL AND NOW THE NEW EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP IS COMPLETELY FAILED AND MY JEEP WON'T START AT ALL. SOMETIMES IT WILL START AND OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE WILL JUST STALL AND TURN OFF ON ME. SOMEONE HAS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. IN COLD WEATHER, THE ENGINE FAILED TO IMMEDIATELY START. NAPLETON'S ARLINGTON HEIGHTS JEEP (1155 W. DUNDEE RD, ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) IN WHICH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, ONCE THE TEMPERATURES BECAME COLDER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. *TT *JB
PER RECALL P54 EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPLACED BY DEALER. THAT EXTERNAL RELAY HAS NOW FAILED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. OWNER WAS ABLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE AND DRIVE TO ROAD SIDE. EXTERNAL RELAY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A BETTER DESIGN OR OPTION TO PREVENT A CRASH.
CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. NO POWER TO ENTIRE CAR. FOUND OUT IT WAS A FAULTY ALTERNATOR THAT WAS UNDER RECALL.
1. JEEP DIES FOR NO REASON WHEN DECELERATING IT HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN TAKING THE FOOT OF THE GAS IT LAST HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 1 ON A BIG CURVE, STEERING AND BRAKES LOST POWER ON A CLIFF SIDE ROAD.(SCARED ME AND THE FAMILY 1/2 TO DEATH) IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE DUMBARTON BRIDGE IN COMMUTE TRAFFIC IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN DECELERATING ON OFF RAMPS OR COASTING TO STOP LIGHTS. YOU NEED TO COMPLETELY STOP THE CAR PUT IT IN PARK AND PRESS ON THE BRAKE TO RESTART IT. THIS IN TRAFFIC IS ALSO DANGEROUS JEEP SAYS 10 THINGS MAY CAUSE IT AND THEY WILL NOT FIX TRY ANY OF THEN BECAUSE THEY CANNOT PINPOINT WHICH ONE IT IS. 2. CRUISE CONTROL SLAMS ON THE BREAKS FOR NO REASON. ANOTHER DANGEROUS PROBLEM NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME, OPEN HIGHWAY, NO OVERHEAD BRIDGES OR GUARD RAILS IN SIGHT AND THE BRAKES SLAM ON.
DASHBOARD DELAMINATING, LEATHER SEAT RIPPING UNDER NORMAL WARE WITH LOTS OF MAINTENANCE. THE LEATHER USED IN THE DASHBOARD IS SEPARATING FROM THE DASHBOARD ITSELF AND CAUSING A WRINKLE EFFECT, WHERE AS THE LEATHER SEAT JUST RIPPED EVEN THOUGH ITS CLEANED AND CONDITIONED AT LEAST 4 TIMES A YEAR
THE VEHICLE HAS NOW HAD IT'S 3RD WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT, JEEP HAS PUT A WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THE WATER PUMP'S FOR THE 13-17 MODEL YEARS AND I HAVE A 2012 WITH THE SAME EFFECTED PART AND JEEP REFUSE'S TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THEY KNOW ITS A PROBLEM, THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME AND I HAVE HAD TO HAVE IT FIXED BY AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE WARRANTY EXTENSION IS X73 FROM JEEP.

SOMETHING AS SUCH AN CARS/TRUCKS, BULBS OR HEADLAMP HOUSING DESIGN SHOULDN'T BE SUCH A ISSUES ON ONLY 6 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. BLUB WHICH COST OVER $99.99OEM AND $300 AT THE DEALERSHIP JUST FOR BLUB PART PLUS LABOR. IT'S SUCH A SAFELY ISSUES READING MANY MESSAGE BOARDS ON OTHER OWNERS HAVING CONCERNS DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH ONE HEADLIGHT BEING OUT UNTIL THE REPAIR IS MADE OR ISSUES ARE FIXED WITH THIS PROBLEM. WHICH I FEEL IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN CAUSE OF ALL I HAVE READ ABOUT. ONLINE. I WOULD LIKE TO BRING THIS MATTER TO ATTENTION FOR THE MANY DISAPPOINTED CONSUMERS DEALING WITH SUCH ISSUES THAT IS RELATED TO THE SAFETY OF TRAVELING DURING THE EVENING HOURS. CHRYSLER SHOULD BEWARE OF THIS ISSUES IN THEIR TRUCKS AND OFFER RECALLS IF KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE DESIGN OR WIRING. THIS JEEP HAD THE FUEL PUMP RECALL DONE ON IT WHICH WAS FOR THE TIPM RELAY BUILT IN FAILS CAUSING THESE JEEPS AND DURANGOS TO STALL OUT. WELL NOW THE WHOLE MODULE IS BAD PER THE DEALER. THIS FAILURE IS WORST THAN THE RELAY FAILURE. THE JEEP STALLED OUT WHILE BEING PARKED AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN ALSO WHILE NOT WORKING SITTING IN MY GARAGE THE JEEP TRIED TO START ON ITS OWN AND LIGHTS AND HORN GOING OFF. JEEP WAS ALREADY SUED OVER THIS AND I HAVE BEEN READING FORMS WITH MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS STILL HAVING THIS ISSUE AND THESE MODULES SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED NOT PLACING A BANDAID ON THE RELAY WHILE THE WHOLE MODULE IS GARBAGE WHICH IS NOW COSTING ME 1600 AND WE HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR A MONTH SINCE SHE WAS SCARED TO BE LEFT STRANDED OR HAVING THE CAR STALL WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE BRING THIS UP WITH THEM I ALREADY EMAILED ASKING FOR HELP ON THIS PROBLEM SINCE THEY NEVER ADDRESSED IT THE FIRST TIME IT WAS BROUGHT UP.
WHEN TURNING ON THE RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS COME ON INSTEAD OF THE TURN SIGNAL. FOG LIGHTS DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. WIND SHIELD WIPERS COME ON RANDOMLY WHETHER IT IS RAINING OR NOT. THESE ALL HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL TURN OFF RIGHT AFTER STARTING. I HAVE TO RE-START.
VEHICLE IN MOTION, BUT DECELERATING FROM HIGHER SPEED TO A STOP OR LOWER SPEED. ENGINE SHUTS OFF. NO WARNING/DASH LIGHTS COME ON EVERYTHING ELSE (RADIO, LIGHTS) CONTINUE TO WORK. THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW THE ENGINE IS NO LONGER RUNNING IS THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES DON'T WORK AND THE RPM ON THE TACHOMETER GO TO ZERO. CAR TYPICALLY WILL RE-START WITH NO ISSUE, BUT WILL ALMOST IMMEDIATELY STOP AGAIN. WHEN THE CAR SITS FOR ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES, IT'LL START RIGHT UP AND DRIVE FINE. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A PATTERN, OTHER THAN SLOWING DOWN. IT'S STALLED ON ME THE FOLLOWING TIMES AND SITUATIONS: * SLOWING DOWN TO TURN RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY - WAS RAINING, STARTED RIGHT UP AFTER STALL RAN FINE (2014) * SLOWING DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP AT AN INTERSECTION, WOULD RESTART, BUT NOT STAY RUNNING. WAITED 20 MINUTES FOR TOWTRUCK AND THE VEHICLE STARTED RIGHT UP. (2016) * SLOWING TO A STOP FOR LIGHT IN TOWN, STARTED RIGHT UP, BUT WOULD NOT REMAIN RUNNING, WAITED 20 MINUTES RAN FINE (2016) * STALLED IN STOPPED TRAFFIC. STARTED RIGHT UP WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO A PARKING LOT BUT STALLED AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RESTART FOR 15-20 MINUTES. RAN FINE ONCE STARTED AGAIN. (2017) * STALLED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON I-95 IN PHILADELPHIA. STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN, BUT HAD TO WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR IT TO REMAIN RUNNING (03/2018) * STALLED WHEN COMING TO A STOP FOR STOP SIGN. WOULDN'T START RIGHT UP. HAD TO WAIT 15-20 MINUTES THEN IT STARTED AND RAN FINE. (09/29/2018) HAVE TAKEN TO THE JEEP DEALER ON THE THREE EARLIER OCCASIONS, HOWEVER, THEY INDICATE THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE SITUATION AND THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES TO REVIEW - THEREFORE THEY ARE UNABLE TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS IS, BUT AFTER THE LAST TWO TIMES OF THIS OCCURRING I MUST REMEDY THE ISSUE. ASSISTANCE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
My transmission keeps clunking
JEEP WILL NOT START FROM EITHER USING THE KEYFOB OR ON DASH START BUTTON. VEHICLE CRANKS AND ATTEMPTS TO START. BATTERY IS NEW AND CHARGED. POSSIBLE TIPM ISSUE.
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 3 YEARS, AND IN THAT TIME IT HAS RANDOMLY LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING 5 DIFFERENT TIMES, MAKING IT HARD TO TURN OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THERE IS NO WARNING, IT JUST DIES. I AM NOT FINDING A RECALL CONCERNING THIS, BUT THERE SHOULD BE. I HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE.
UPON DOING REGULAR OIL CHANGE THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER CRACKED AND THE SPRING CAME OUT. THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER NOW REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. THERE IS A KNOWN SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE PROBLEM FROM CHRYSLER. REFERENCE #09-003-13 * DATE OF ISSUE = 10/26/13
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, SEVERAL WARNING INDICATORS BEGAN TO FLASH ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SMOKE ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MONROEVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP (LOCATED AT 3651 WILLIAM PENN HWY, MONROEVILLE, PA 15146, (412) 856-1422) AND REPAIRED PER NETS CAMPAIGN NUMBER: (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED SEVERAL FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFT SELECTOR FAILED TO OPERATE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING SOUND EMITTING FROM THE TRANSFER CASE, THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WAS MELTED, AND THE BATTERY EXPLODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ECMA AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE CLICKING SOUND STILL PERSISTED AND THE SHIFT SELECTOR WAS ALSO STILL INOPERABLE. AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AT MEMORABILIA CHRYSLER JEEP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000. *TTT *JB
STARTER TURNS OVER BUT WONT CRANK AND LEAVES ME STRANDED. HORN GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS SOMETIMES WONT WORK. GOOGLE SAYS ITS THE TIPM. HAPPENS WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND NON MOVING. HAS HAPPEND MULTIPLE TIMES.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, NOTICED A SMOKE SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING. COULDN'T PUT A FINGER ON IT UNTIL LATER WHILE DRIVING THE CAR FILLED WITH SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLINER AND BURN HOLE IN LINER. PULLED OVER AND PULLED HEADLINER DOWN AND SAW FLAMES AND SMOKE. PUT FIRE OUT. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THERE WAS A RECALL THAT HAD BEEN DONE BY THEM ON OUR VEHICLE FOR THE VANITY MIRROR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM PREVIOUS TO THIS INCIDENT. THEY TOOK OUR VEHICLE AND GAVE US A RENTAL AT THEIR EXPENSE UNTIL FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT..
I HAVE TWO MAJOR ISSUES. THE FIRST BEING THAT THE LEATHER ON MY DASH HAS COMPLETELY SHRIVELED UP INTO WEIRD BUMPS AND LOOKS HORRIBLE. I'M NOT SURE WHAT WOULD OF CAUSED IT BECAUSE IT IS SOMETHING THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE. THE SECOND THING IS THAT MY BACK RIGHT SUSPENSION IS MESSED UP. THE BACK LEFT SIDE OF MY JEEP SAGS WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK AND AS IT LOWERS INTO PARK LEVEL.
ENGINE FAILING WHILE DRIVING BUT I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY REMOVE VEHICLE FROM THE ROAD TO AVOID CRASH. ISSUE IS THE ENGINE ROD BEARING FAILURE. RECALL FOR SAME ISSUE CAME OUT IN 2011 BUT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V487000
FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL R09 WAS PERFORMED IN 2015. RELAY THAT WAS INSTALLED DURING THE RECALL FAILED IN 2018 CAUSING CAR TO STALL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND FAILING TO START. CREATED A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AS I WAS LEFT SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. RECALL WAS NOT EFFECTIVE AT SOLVING THE PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER IS NOW BILLING CUSTOMERS FOR THE PART AND LABOR THAT THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX.
WHILE IN MOTION AT ANY RATE OF SPEED, VEHICLE WILL LOOSE POWER TO ACCELERATE (ALL INTERNAL ELECTRONICS ARE STILL ACTIVE, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STALLS). THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES RESULTING IN NEAR CRASHES DUE TO INABILITY TO ACCELERATE TO PULL OVER. FUEL PUMP REPLACED RECENTLY IN 2018, INCLUDING A TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE. MULTIPLE CODES ARE BEING THROWN WHICH ARE BROAD SPECTRUM AND UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. I OWN THIS VEHICLE AND REQUIRE IT FOR WORK TRANSPORTATION, INCLUDING THE TRANSPORTATION OF CHILDREN. I AM TERRIFIED THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND I CANNOT GET OVER IN TIME TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED OR WORSE. THE DATE SELECTED BELOW IS THE FIRST TIME THIS INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED AND CONTINUES TO HAPPEN MORE THAN TWICE A WEEK
FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED AFTER BEING REPLACED BY RECALL. OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WOULD NOT START. MOST RECENTLY THE CAR STALLED ON ME WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE FIRST TIME I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE CAR. THE SECOND, AND LAST TIME IT STALLED, I WAS TURNING OFF A RESIDENTIAL SIDE STREET ONTO A MAJOR 4 LANE ROAD DURING RUSH HOUR. IT STALLED IN THE INTERSECTION. I COULD NOT RESTART IT. I WAS TOLD BY MY AUTO SHOP THAT THE PART HAS NOT BEEN IMPROVED, ONLY REPLACED. THAT IS NOT A FIX!
A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. WHEN ACCELERATING THE TICKING GETS LOUDER. HAD NOISE CHECKED BY MECHANIC AND IT WAS THE LIFTER AND ROCKER ARM. HAD SOME REPLACED, THIS WOULD BE THE THIRD TIME. I HAVE A 3.7 ENGINE V6 GRAND CHEROKEE AND FOUND THAT DODGE HAS A RECALL FOR THE CHARGER, WHICH IS THE SAME COMPANY.
THE 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WILL CRANK WITH NO START. THE JEEP REFUSES TO FIRE UP, IT WILL CRANK FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME BUT WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT START UP. COULD BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE OR FUEL PUMP RELAY OR ENGINE. SEEMS A LOT OF FRIENDS OF MINE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS VERY SAME MODEL. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE DEFECTIVE CAR.
SEAT BELT LIGHT AND AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND WONT GO OFF. WARNING SOUND WONT STOP RINGING.

2012 JEEP HAS 55K MILES, ORIGINAL OWNER. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND A COUPLE RECALLS, TO BE INFORMED THE STEER RACK IS LEAKING, ALONG WITH A BENT TIE ROD, COST TO FIX IS $2000.
FUEL PUMP, RECALL DONE BUT NOT EFFECTIVE. ALMOST THREE TIMES A WEEK, THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DOES NOT START OR STALLS RIGHT AFTER STARTING. THIS IS WHEN I AM PARKED AND WILL JUST KEEP CRANKING AND NOT START. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL IS FAULTY. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES AND WAS INFORMED THAT POWER STEERING RESIVOIR IS LOW DUE TO A LEAK IN THE BOOT OF THE RACK AND PINION STEERING ASSEMBLY. COST OF REPAIR WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $2000. THIS PART SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER THAN 60,000 MILES. DRIVEN VERY LIGHTLY AS ONLY 60,000 MILES IN 6 YEARS TO START HAVING SUCH ISSUES.
THE AUTOMATIC CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON 2 HOURS INTO DRIVING NORTH ON THE HIGHWAY TO WISCONSIN FROM CHICAGO. THERE WAS NO HUMAN ACTION THAT CORRELATED WITH THE LIGHT COMING ON. IT SIMPLY CAME ON WHEN GOING CONSISTENT SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY IN NO TRAFFIC. I LEARNED FROM THE DRIVER'S MANUAL THAT THIS MOST LIKELY MEANT THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED AND I NEEDED TO GET ASSISTANCE IMMEDIATELY. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A REPAIR SHOP ON A THURSDAY WHERE IT WOULD REMAIN FOR 10 DAYS AS THINGS BEGAN TO UNFOLD. THE EMPLOYEES OF THE REPAIR SHOP COULD IDENTIFY NO FAULT IN THE ALTERNATOR AFTER THOROUGH INSPECTION AND DRIVING TESTS. THE WARNING LIGHT HAD TURNED OFF. HOWEVER, AFTER IT HAD BEEN CLEARED OF ALL INSPECTION AND TURNED ON, THERE WAS AN ENORMOUS FAILURE IN THE CAR CAUSING IT TO SMOKE. WITHOUT WARNING, THE ALTERNATOR CAUSED SUCH A MASSIVE SHORT THAT IT NOT ONLY FAILED ITSELF, BUT ALSO BROKE THE CAR'S ENGINE COMPUTER. I COME TO FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BY CHRYSLER (T36) FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE AND INCLUDED 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S. I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF THIS RECALL BUT THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT THIS FAILURE IS SPECIFIC TO THE MANUFACTURING ERRORS BY CHRYSLER JEEP. THERE HAVE BEEN A TOTAL OF 10 RECALLS ON THE 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, 3 OF WHICH HAVE BEEN SPECIFIC TO THIS VEHICLE, AND CLEARLY, NOW A 4TH. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A BEEN AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THE FAILURE BY CHRYSLER TO NOTIFY ME OR INCLUDE MY VEHICLE IN THEIR RECALL IS PREPOSTEROUS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE TIPM SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER AN UNKNOWN RECALL. A VIN TOOL SEARCH FOUND NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CAR STARTED OVERHEATING RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. PULLED OFF, AND THE RADIATOR HOSE WAS LEAKING, AND THE BATTERY LIGHT TURNED ON, IN THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS LEAKING FLUID, BELIEVE IT TO BE RADIATOR, AND AC FLUID. TOOK THE JEEP INTO THE MECHANIC TO VERIFY THE ISSUE, AND FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. SHORTLY BEFORE TAKING THE JEEP TO THE MECHANIC, WHILE DRIVING, THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT APPEARED, AND THEN THE RED LIGHTNING BOLT TURNED APPEARED AS WELL, ON THE DASH AS WELL. NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IT NOW.
WIND SHIELD WIPERS, OVER DRIVE LIGHT AND HEAD LIGHTS ON AND CAN NOT TURN OFF. SIGNAL LIGHTS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS NOT WORKING.
MY JEEP HAS DEVELOPED SEVERAL LARGE WRINKLES ON THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD COVER. I'VE SEEN COMMENTS FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE WRINKLES IN AND STIFFNESS OF THE DASHBOARD COVER MIGHT INTERFERE WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG.
Since purchasing this vehicle, the entire wood trim inside the vehicle has broken off chunk by chunk and continues to do it. It started with the front around the start button and has worked around to the passenger dash and now is falling off on the doors. Sometimes I will get in my vehicle and see a piece of wood on the floor board. Dealership states that only the carbon fiber trim on the SRT is covered but not the wood for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. First started when my leather dash started to bubble and wrinkle up. Also, the plastic vents on the dash broke during the leather dash bubbling up and once that was fixed by recall, dealership stated that plastic vent is not covered even though it is caused by the leather wrinkling and bubbling up.
The brake booster of my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was supposedly inspected and or replaced as part of a recall that I had performed on the vehicle on 12/22/2017 has intermittent failure. Prior to having the recall work performed on the brake booster I had no issues with my power brake systems. However, within a year of having the recall work done I had the BRAKE warning light come on while driving and noticed that my brake pedal was extremely firm when trying to start my vehicle. I made an appointment at a Jeep dealer to have the problem diagnosed and fixed immediately but the problem went away before my scheduled appointment. The problem recurred (BRAKE warning light and extremely firm brake pedal upon starting) about 2 weeks ago. I immediately drove to the nearest dealership and asked that they scan what error code was causing my BRAKE light (suspecting that it was a faulty brake booster but wanting a definitive diagnosis prior to pursuing the matter). Thankfully even though the light had gone off by the time I got it to the dealer they said the error code was still stored and came back as "C0021-02" or "Brake Booster - General Signal Failure" that likely indicates a failing brake booster BUT the dealer also said I was out of warranty and so no work would be covered even though the brake booster recall work led to this dangerous intermittent failure. I have had multiple occasions recently where my vehicle has taken longer to stop than expected and I never know when its going to happen and so I have to leave very long stopping distances now or else risk rear-ending a stopped vehicle if my brakes randomly stop working effectively (also to keep my kids safe from being in an accident when I need to get them to school). I can provide the brake booster for inspection if/when this defective part is replaced properly at the manufacturer or the dealership's expense. The time and specifics below refer to the first time the first time the BRAKE light activated.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE LIGHTS POP UP ON MY DASH, USUALLY AFTER IT RAINS, BUT ONCE FOR NO REASON. I WILL BE DRIVING ANYWHERE FROM 20-65MPH AND THE LIGHTS WILL JUST POP UP. VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. NO INDICATIONS OF PROBLEM AS FAR AS WARNINGS. LOSES ALL ENGINE POWER, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES. HAPPENS WHEN SLOWING. ONCE SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL OR PARK, IT WILL RESTART WITHOUT ISSUE. INTERMITTENT DANGEROUS PROBLEM. NO FAULTS ACTIVE, NO DIAGNOSIS TO BE FOUND. VEHICLE IS UP TO DATE ON RECALLS AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL. CONCERNS FOR SAFETY ARE PRESENT. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 128929 MILES, BUT THIS HAS HAPPENED 3-4 TIMES A YEAR RANDOMLY SINCE WE PURCHASED IT AT 33K IN 2014.
ALTERNATOR AND PCM WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED IN JULY 2017. HOWEVER, I NOW HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT IS WORSE. THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL COME ON INITIALLY THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS START, RADIO WILL SHUT OFF AND THEN THE AIR CONDITIONING SUDDENLY STARTED TO BLOW OUT HOW AIR AND IT WAS BLOWN AT THE FEET. I TRIED ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. THIS HAPPENED A FEW MORE TIMES WHEN UNDER REGULAR STRESS OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY!
