I experienced a strong fuel smell on filling the tank of my Jeep. The dealer and an independent diagnosed a cracked fuel tank. The tank had 3 cracks in the top of the tank which allowed fuel fumes to enter the car. The fuel tank was replaced at my cost of $785.11, the problem was solved. This created a very hazardous situation with risk of explosion or fire at any time.

A FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE RESULT IN A NO-START CONDITION.
AT APPROXIMATELY 120K MILES I BEGAN TO NOTICE A SLIGHT TICK COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE MOTOR. OVER THE NEXT 5K MILES I CHANGED THE OIL SEVERAL TIMES, SWAPPED PLUGS, COIL PACKS AND INJECTORS TO RULE OUT ANY POTENTIAL ISSUES. I ALSO DID A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND GOT WORSE. THERE WAS ALSO A CONSISTENT HESITATION UNDER MEDIUM TO HEAVY THROTTLE INPUT. I'M NOW AT 126K MILES AND HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - P0303 FOR CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE. I HAVE STARTED DISASSEMBLING THE MOTOR AND NOTICED THE LIFTER HAS SEIZED AND STARTED DESTROYING THE CAMSHAFT.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AFTER STARTING, TICKING FROM ENGINE AT RANDOM SPEEDS, RUNS ROUGH AT RANDOM SPEEDS DURING DIFFERENT TIMES. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER BECAUSE OF THIS AND THEY SAID THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS FAILING AND CAN CAUSE ME TO CRASH/STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SUDDENLY AND THAT THERES BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS FOR ALMOST A YEAR BUT THEY CANT HELP ME OR FIX MY CAR BECAUSE THERES NO PARTS. The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V115000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the recall repair was completed. The contact stated that the failure persisted after the recall repair. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls or warranty on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
MY CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH START. BUT I AM MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR THE JEEP TO STALL AND CRASH WHILE THE IN DRIVING. I AM RISKING THE LIVES AND THE LIFE OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS EACH TIME I DRIVE THIS JEEP. THIS FULE PUMP RELAY SWITCH RECALL (V62) (NHTSA 19V-813) WAS ISSUED BACK IN NOVEMBER 2019. MY COMMUNICATIONS WITH KOONS CHRYSLER IN TYSONS CORNER VIRGINIA AND MOPAR HAVE NOT PRODUCED POSITIVE RESULT. THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE WITH A DATE FOR RESOLUTION. THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION, SO I HAVE NO OTHER OPTIONS FOR TRANSPORTATION. I PRAY EACH TIME I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE THAT ME, AND MY PASSENGERS MAKE IT TO AND FROM OUR DESTINATIONS SAFELY. ON NOVEMBER 21, 2019 MOPAR ISSUED A FUEL PUMP RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH MY FUEL PUMP RELAY AND THEY REPLACED IT WITH THE DEFECTIVE MODEL PART BECAUSE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A REMEDY TO THE RECALL ISSUED. I AM EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN. A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. AS A CONSUMER I NEED AN UPDATE AS WHEN AN EFFECTIVE REMEDY WILL BE AVAILABLE, FOR THE SAFETY AND RESALE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE. I HAVE A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT IS UNDER A RECALL V62?NHTSA 19V-813 FOR AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT HAVE A REMEDY YET FOR THIS ISSUE. I HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VEHICLE WHILE STATIONARY FOR 3 DAYS IN A ROW. ON THE FOURTH DAY, I AM NOW UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE, WHILE STATIONARY.
HELLO, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN UNDER A RECALL SINCE 2019 AND JEEP HAS NOT FOUND THE PARTS YET STILL. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY COMES ON AND I'M SURE IT IS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER UNTIL MY SUV CUTS OUT COMPLETELY.
THIS VEHICLE HAS ON AT LEAST FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS JUST SIMPLY STOPPED RUNNING. TO BE CLEAR, EACH TIME I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING SOMEWHERE AND THE ENGINE WOULD JUST STOP. EACH TIME, I WAS DRIVING SOMEWHERE LOCALLY AND ON CITY STREETS. THE FIRST FEW TIMES THIS HAPPENED, I WAS EITHER STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, OR STOPPED AT A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT, AT WHICH, I EITHER "FELT" THE ENGINE STOP, OR I REALIZED IT WHEN I WENT TO PROCEED AFTER THE STOP AND GOT NO REACTION FROM THE CAR WHEN I HIT THE GAS AND TRIED TO PROCEED ON MY WAY. THESE TIMES, I SIMPLY TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, AND STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN. I DON'T REMEMBER AND DIDN'T TAKE NOTE OF WHETHER ALL ELECTRICAL HAD TURNED OFF OR NOT. BUT THE MOST RECENT TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS VERY CONCERNING. IT WAS JULY 10TH, APPROXIMATELY 11PM, AND I WAS DRIVING ON A LOCAL BOULEVARD AT APPROXIMATELY 40-45MPH WHEN, AGAIN, THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. THIS OF COURSE, DISABLED POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. HEADLIGHTS AND RADIO CONTINUED TO WORK. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND TURN ON MY HAZARDS. I THEN TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, AND WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN. THE CAR HAS NOT REPLICATED THE ISSUE SINCE THEN, BUT I HAVE TO CONSIDER THIS WHEN I TAKE MY FAMILY FOR A DRIVE/TRIP. I HAVE TO CONSIDER THEIR SAFETY, AND THE THOUGHT THAT IT COULD JUST STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN OR AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE FREEWAY, OR BOTH, IS VERY CONCERNING. THE FACT THAT THE ENGINE JUST STOPS, (AND DOESN'T SPUTTER OR SHUDDER OR SHAKE TO A STOP) MAKES ME BELIEVE THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER INTO A TIRE STOP AND THEY PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A DEALER CLASSIC CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF ARLINGTON (1111 I-20 FRONTAGE RD, ARLINGTON, TX 76018 682-206-3532). THEY STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE AND THAT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE COMPUTER. THE BURNT ALTERNATOR AND PCM WERE REPLACED AS WELL. THESE REPAIRS WERE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE SAME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND GAVE THE CONTACT A CASE NUMBER. THEY CALLED THE CONTACT BACK LATER AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE FOR THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. *BF *AS
CAR UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING
IN 2019 MY ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON WITH CODE P0520 - OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. I REPLACED THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON A MONTH LATER WITH THE SAME CODE P0520, SO I REPLACED THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR FOR A SECOND TIME. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER I BEGAN GETTING A GENERIC CODE P06DD. I HAVE SENSE REPLACED THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR A 3RD TIME ALONG WITH THE OIL FILTER HOUSING AND OIL PUMP. IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT A WEEK BUT THEN CODE P0520 - OIL PRESSURE SENSOR RETURNED. THERE ISSUE IS NOT MECHANICAL AND NO ONE HAS BEEN MECHANICAL AS ALL OF THE PARTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CODE HAVE BEEN REPLACED REPEATEDLY. NOBODY IS ABLE TO RESOLVE IT AND I CANNOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL THEY DO.

THE ENGINE STALLED COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, PREPARING TO MAKE A TURN ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY. LOSS OF POWER TO BRAKES & STEERING SINCE THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK, STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN, SHIFTED INTO DRIVE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. EVENTUALLY (IN A MATTER OF SECONDS) THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE HOME.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP AND THEN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN, WITH NO POWER. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, SO THANK GOD IT HAPPEN LATE WHEN THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC. I IMMEDIATELY SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURNING AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO POWER TO THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE ALTERNATOR BURNED UP AND DAMAGED THE BATTERY. THIS EXACT ISSUE IS RECALL T36 BUT JEEP STATES THAT THAT RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE A 220AMP ALTERNATOR. OBVIOUSLY, IF MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOM THAT THE T36 RECALL IS FOR, THE 220AMP ALTERNATOR IS ALSO AFFECTED. THE INITIAL REPAIR COST ME $1500. A MONTH LATER I HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER REPAIR FOR $3000, DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES, WHERE THE PARKING ASSIST AND BLIND SPOT ASSIST MODULES WENT OUT, ALONG WITH A HEADLAMP MOTOR ASSEMBLY. IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE THAT REPAIR AND NOW I HAVE MORE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON AGAIN AND I GET A SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM, THE HEAT IS INTERMITTENT, AND MY TEMP GAUGE DOESN'T MOVE. I HAVE BEEN EMAILING BACK AND FORTH WITH JEEP CUSTOMER CARE BUT THEY JUST KEEP SAYING THAT THE T36 ALTERNATOR ISSUE DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE.
MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT8 IS HAVING FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS, IT IS STALLING WHILE RUNNING AND STUTTERING WHEN PRESSING THE GAS, MORE SPECIFICALLY HAPPENS WHILE MERGING ON HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY NOTIFIED ME OF THERE BEING A RECALL ON THE PUMP AND THERE ISN'T A FIX FOR IT. ALSO NOTIFIED ME THAT I CAN NOT REGISTER OR SELL THE VEHICLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR

THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
IN A PULL FORWARD PARK SPOT, SHIFTED TO REVERSE TO BACK OUT. CAR LURCHED BACKWARD VERY FAST. CROSSED THE ROAD, STOPPED BY A 4' X 6' POST SET IN THE GROUND. THE COLLISION BROKE THE POST AND CRACKED MY CAR'S REAR BUMPER. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BUT IT COULD NOT CONTROL THE SPEED. THANKFULLY, NO PEOPLE WERE IN THE ROAD. NO INJURIES. THIS WAS PIN A COMMERCIAL FARM, WHERE PEOPLE CAN HARVEST THE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. THE ROAD IS BLACKTOP. MY CAR LEFT SKID MARKS ACROSS THE WIDTH OF THE ROAD. IT WAS A FRIGHTENING EVENT FOR ME AND MY FRIEND. I CALLED MY CAR DEALER LATER TO ASK IF THERE HAD BEEN ANY INCIDENTS LIKE THIS...SHIFTING INTO REVERSE AND THE CAR ZIPPED OFF- OUT OF CONTROL. TECH SAID ' NO'.

MY VEHICLES RECALL CANNOT BE FIXED BECAUSE RECALL PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THEY HAVE APPARENTLY NOT CREATED A WORKING RECALL PART YET. MY VEHICLE HESITATES TO TURN ON JUST LIKE IT DID BEFORE WHEN THE RECALL HAD TO BE FIXED FOR THE SECOND TIME AROUND. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO JEEP AND CHRYSLER NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NOT MUCH HELP. THEY TELL ME TO CONTACT DEALER FOR TEMPORARY FIX, DEALER TELLS ME THERE IS NO PART AVAILABLE FOR TEMPORARY FIX. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET SOMETHING DONE FOR OVER 6 MONTHS NOW WITH NO HELP. THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL ON MY JEEP, I WAS NOTIFIED OF OCTOBER OF 2019. IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER OF 2020, AND THERE IS NO RESOLUTION FOR THIS RECALL. MY TRUCK HAS HAD TROUBLE STARTING SEVERAL OCCASIONS. HEADRESTS POPPED A FEW MONTHS OF EACH OTHER WHILE I WAS AT A STOP. I THOUGHT SOMEONE THREW SOMETHING INTO THE CAR! HIT THE BACK OF MY HEAD!
I have been waiting for over 2 years for Jeep to complete the recall for V62/NHTSA 19V-813. In May of 2020, the fuel pump relay failed and my Jeep would not start. The dealer (Fort Collins Jeep in Fort Collins CO) replaced the relay with the same previous version of the relay, which fixed the problem but did not satisfy the recall. They did not have parts available to fix the recall and I was put on a wait list. In the fall of 2020 I moved from Colorado to Tucson, AZ. In June 2021, I called Larry H Miller Chrysler/Jeep dealer in Tucson and was put on a wait list for the part. It's now been almost another year since then and they are still telling me that they don't have the parts available. For what is considered a safety issue, it seems wrong to have to wait for years to have it fixed. (Note: The date I entered, 5/19/2020, is the day that the Jeep failed to start. UPON PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HEADREST SAFETY MECHANISM ACTIVATED, PROPELLING THE HEADREST FORWARD, FOR NO FORESEEN REASON. Dashboard pad cover is wrinkling and detaching from the dashboard top. The area most effected is on the passenger side. The covering has detached about 2 inches away from the windshield and has detached from the air vent cover. The detachment has caused the air vent cover to rise. The air vent cover is no longer flush with the top of the dashboard. While driving, the distortion in the dashboard pad covering and air vent cover distracts from my peripheral view and when I'm checking the right side or viewing the right view mirror. The service dealer at Koons Tysons Corner, VA was notified in May 2020. I was told there had been a recall to repair the dashboard pad, but parts were on order and there was a backlog for repairs. On December 28, 2021, the service center stated the Dashboard Pad Replacement was expected June 2022. Now, each time I call reference the replacement, I'm told the vehicle is on a waiting list or I get a service person who has no knowledge of the recall or issue.

THERE'S A EECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP, THAT MAY CAUSE MY JEEP TO STOP ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN DRIVING IT. THE RECALL HAS YET TO HAVE AN ANSWER AS TO WHEN IT WILL GET FIXED. I DON'T WANT MY CAR TO STALL AS UM DRIVING AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN IS AT RISK. NEED THIS TO BE FIXED ASAP.
THIS IS MY THIRD TIME EXPERIENCING THIS SYSTEM FAILURE. EACH TIME WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE IN MOTION, THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF. EACH TIME THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS I WAS TURNING ONTO A STREET. THE FIRST TIME IT SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING WAS AS I EASY SLOWING DOWN TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND LOST ALL CONTROLS AS THE VEHICLE DIED. I DID NOT ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH ANYTHING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BOUT IT ASAP. IT TURNS OFF UNWARRANTED WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND PRESS THE START BUTTON TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT PART IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS OUT OF NOWHERE OCCASIONALLY AND NOT EVERYDAY EITHER.
