THE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING GARAGE FOR NO REASON.
THE GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A TIRES HAVE ALL STARTED TO DRY ROT AND BECAUSE OF THAT THE VEHICLE HAS HAD 2 FLAT TIRES IN 3 DAYS. THE TIRES ARE 2 YEARS OLD AND NO WHERE NEAR THE 50,000 MILE TREAD LIFE. SO 2 TIMES IN 3 DAYS WE WHERE DRIVING AND WE HAVE GOTTEN A FLAT THANKFULLY NOT A BLOW OUT BUT THESE TIRES ARE JUNK AND NEED TO BE RECALLED.
WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, I HEAR A POP NOISE FROM THE PASSENGER SEAT, I HEAR MY MOTHER IN LAW YELL OOOW, THE HEADREST POPPED OUT AND HIT HER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
ACTIVE HEAD REST ON PASSENGERS SIDE DEPLOYED WITHOUT BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, BRAKES AND OIL, AT THE DEALERSHIP.
OIL COOLER LEAKING, CHRYSLER CORP CHANGE PART THAT USED TO BE METAL TO PLASTIC IN 2014 AND THESE OIL COOLERS LEAK/ SEALS WEAR OUT AT LOW MILES. JEEP JUST STARTED TO LEAK OIL AND FROM A PART THAT SHOULD NOT FAIL AT 80K MILES
SERVICE 4WD ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS LIT UP AND CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE IS NOW IN THE SHOP FOR AN EXPECTED ABS MODULE FAILURE.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE DRIVER SEAT HEADREST DEPLOYED - NO ACCIDENT NOTHING.
I WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE TO JEEP ABOUT MY PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYING WITHOUT ANY CAUSE WHILE MY CAR WAS IN PARK FOR MORE THAN 6 HOURS... AFTER READING MORE THAN SEVERAL THREADS AND CONCERNS FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS AND IT ALSO HAPPENING TO THEM AND THE OUTRAGEOUS COST TO REPAIR A SINGLE HEADREST INCLUDING LABOR IS BEYOND ME. I FEEL CHEATED OUT. THIS REPAIR IS ALMOST A 800.00 REPAIR ... WHY HAS JEEP NOT MADE THIS VERY REPETITIVE ISSUE A RECALL? I FEEL JEEP SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIAG AND ALSO THE REPAIR FOR MY JEEP. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE AND HAS FELT THE SAME. I AM ASKING FOR SOMEONE TO HANDLE THIS IN A FAIR MANNER. BEING A SINGLE PARENT AND NOT BEING ABLE TO FORK MONEY LIKE I AM A BANK HAS MADE THIS TREMENDOUSLY FRUSTRATING.
I WAS DRIVING AROUND 65 MPH ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THE ACTIVE HEADREST POPPED OUT FORCEFULLY, HITTING ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. IT WAS ENOUGH TO CAUSE ME TO VEER INTO A NEIGHBORING LANE, BUT FORTUNATELY I REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE SO MANY REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER DRIVERS, AND IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT. TO BE CLEAR, I DID NOT HIT A POTHOLE OR ANYTHING ON THE ROAD'THE HEADREST JUST POPPED OUT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I INSPECTED THE HEADREST LATER AND FOUND THAT THE PIN THAT HOLDS THE HEADREST IN PLACE HAD SNAPPED IN HALF. THIS HAPPENED LAST YEAR ON A 2014 MODEL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE.
AFTER THE EMISSIONS RECALL, MY JEEP HAS DANGEROUS LAG ON ACCELERATION. YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND THERE IS A 3-5 SECOND DELAY BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ETC. ADDITIONALLY THE FUEL ECONOMY HAS DECREASED SUBSTANTIALLY. ANY HELP WITH THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS, MIKE

I HAVE A SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT COMING ON CONSTANTLY AS WELL AS SOME RANDOM RADIO STATION CHANGES. IT ALL STARTED AFTER LAST RECALL WAS FIXED. I LOVE MY JEEP BUT AM SO FRUSTRATED.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SOFTWARE PATCH UPDATE THAT WAS REQUIRED FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DUTCHESS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (2285 SOUTH RD, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY 12601, (845) 462-7700) AND THE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. UPON THE UPDATE BEING PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 30 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING. FURTHERMORE, THE VEHICLE JERKED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR LATER ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, ALL THE INTERNAL ELECTRIC UNITS, SUCH AS THE PHONE CHARGER, 3G WI-FI, VOICE CONTROL SYSTEM UNIT, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL UNITS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HEALEY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (557 NY-52, BEACON, NY 12508, (845) 831-1148) WHERE THEY REPLACED A SENSOR UNDER WARRANTY. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR INITIALLY TURNED OFF AFTER THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED SOON AFTER THE REMEDY WAS PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THEY WERE STILL AWAITING ANOTHER SOFTWARE UPDATE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
ACTIVE HEADREST ON THE DRIVER'S SITE DEPLOYED WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN DRIVE MODE AND RUNNING. UPON INSPECTION, IT LOOKS LIKE THE PLASTIC PART THAT HOLDS THE HEADREST IN PLACE BROKE LOOSE ON BOTH SITES OF THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM.
SEAT HEADREST POPPED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING 6/24/19; UNABLE TO PUSH BACK IN PLACE
MANUFACTURES SEATBELT FAILURE IN MY CHRYSLER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE BOTH FRONT SEAT BELT HAVE BECAME NON-OPERATIONAL WHILE TRAVELING ON A HWY IN YELLOW STONE, WY. ON JUNE 24, 2019, BOTH FRONT SEAT BELT BECAME NON-OPERATIONAL. THEY NO LONGER RETRACT OR STOP WHEN TESTED. TWO YEARS AGO MY CURBSIDE REAR PASSENGER BELT FAIL TO RELEASE TRAPPING MY DAUGHTER IN HER SEAT. I WAS FORCED TO CUT HER FREE AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE MECHANISM. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. MY JEEP IS CURRENTLY UNSAFE TO OPERATE UNTIL I BUY AND INSTALL TWO NEW FRONT SEATBELTS. THIS WILL COST THE AVERAGE AMERICAN OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPAIR. MANY WILL JUST DRIVE UNSAFE AUTOMOBILES DUE TO THE OUTRAGES COST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BREEDEN DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 5900 US-71 BUS, FORT SMITH, AR 72908, (479) 646-4731) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT TWO OF THE SIX INJECTORS WERE INOPERABLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN WHY THE INJECTORS FAILED. THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE INJECTORS WERE DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
ACTIVE HEADREST COLLISION SYSTEM RANDOMLY DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. APPEARS TO HAVE SOME KIND OF RETAINING MECHANISM FAILURE AS I CANNOT CLIP IT BACK IN. MANY OTHERS APPEAR TO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AS REPORTED ACROSS INTERNET FORUMS AND STILL NO RECALL.
WHILE IN PARK, THE DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED IN MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN A COLLISION, NOR HAS IT BEEN IN THE PAST. THE VEHICLE COMPUTER SHOWS NO EVIDENCE OF A COLLISION OR CAUSE FOR DEPLOYMENT OF THE ACTIVE HEADREST. THE VEHICLE WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 77,000 MILES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I WAS UNABLE TO RESET THE ACTIVE HEADREST, AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DO SO AS WELL, INDICATING IT NEEDED REPLACED. UPON INVESTIGATION ONLINE, AND INSPECTION OF THE HEADREST, I FOUND THAT THERE WERE BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES IN THE BACK PART OF THE HEADREST THAT APPEARED TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILED ACTIVE HEADREST. IT APPEARS EVIDENT TO ME THAT A DEFECTIVE PART OF PLASTIC BROKE AND MADE THE HEADREST DEPLOY.
ABOUT THREE DAYS AGO THE LIGHT CAME ON AND I RAN A CODE END IT SAY IT 4 WHEEL DR. SYSTEM SERVICE GOT IT DYNASTIC BUT IT DIDN'T GO OFF BEEN HAVING TROUBLE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS JEEP SINCE I BOUGHT IT INTO THOUSAND 17 I THINK THEY SOLD ME A LEMON
MY PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN A LOCAL STREET IN LINCROFT, NJ. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 75K MILES AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT AND UPON VISUAL INSPECTION THE PLASTIC PART THAT LATCHES INTO THE FIXTURE SNAPPED OFF LEAVING THE HEADREST PERMANENTLY DAMAGED.
"SERVICE SHIFTER" WARNING APPEARS ON DASH. WHILE DRIVING ON CITY OR HIGHWAY. ALL LIGHTS ON SHIFTER ARE LIGHTED UP AT ONE TIME. IE. P,R,N,D,S ALL LITE AT ONCE. BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR PCM UPDATE. THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINTS ON MY PASSENGER SEAT HAS DEPLOYED. THERE APPEARS TO BE 2 BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES THAT HELD A SMALL METAL ROD THAT APPEARS TO HAVE CLIPPED TO A RELEASE - WHICH IS STILL IN PLACE - AS THE ROD WAS STILL HELD BY IT. UPON FURTHER REVIEW ON THE INTERNET, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THIS MODEL OF JEEP/DODGE HEADRESTS.
VIBRATION COMING FROM WINDSHIELD/ WIPER AREA ON DRIVERS SIDE WHEN TRAVELING AROUND 65/70 MPH. VERY LOUD AND ANNOYING.

AIRBAG IN HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR AN UNKNOWN EMISSIONS RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO WARM UP FOR TEN MINUTES BEFORE PULLING OUT AND ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE THROTTLE RESPONSE BEING DELAYED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. AUBURN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1901 GRASS VALLEY HWY, AUBURN, CA 95603, 888-268-8026) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMED LIKE OTHER VEHICLES THAT NEEDED THE EMISSIONS REFLASHED; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE EMISSIONS RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,182. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
I HAVE A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH A 3.0L ECODIESEL ENGINE THAT HAD THE APPROVED JEEP V08 RECALLED INSTALLED. SINCE HAVING A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN INSTALL THE V08 EMISSIONS RECALL, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER REPEATEDLY TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING PARTS REPLACED: 14 TOTAL FUEL INJECTORS, FUEL LINES (HIGH AND LOW PRESSURE) FROM TANK TO ENGINE REPLACED TWICE, FUEL TANK CLEANED, DEF INJECTOR REPLACED, NUMEROUS SENSORS AND THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED. EACH "FIX" WORKS FOR ANYWHERE FROM 1 - 6 WEEKS BEFORE A LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. EACH OF THESE REPAIRS HAS INCLUDED ADDITIONAL CHARGES THAT WERE REQUIRED TO BE PAID OUT OF POCKET. PRIOR TO THE V08 EMISSIONS RECALL, I DROVE THE VEHICLE OVER 100,000 MILES WITHOUT AN ISSUE. SINCE THE RECALL, DRIVING HABITS HAVE NOT CHANGED, BUT MILES PER GALLON HAVE DROPPED 2-3 MPG. THE DEALER AND JEEP HAVE ALSO INDICATED THAT SINCE THE RECALL WAS INSTALLED, THE VEHICLE MUST BE DRIVEN DIFFERENTLY COMPARED TO PRIOR TO THE RECALL. ACCORDING TO THE V08 RECALL NOTICE, JEEP PROMISED THE RECALL WOULD NOT AFFECT THE WAY THE VEHICLES DRIVES AND ALSO WOULD NOT AFFECT MILEAGE, WHICH HAS BEEN PROVEN FALSE.
MY VEHICLE HAS A LONG CRANK BUT WILL NOT TURN OVER. STUCK NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM BUT I SEE ONLINE THAT EARLIER MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT WAS SAID A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. AM WONDERING IF THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM.
NO LOW BATTERY WARNING LIGHT, ONLY SHOW A WARNING IF ALTERNATOR IS BAD AND NOT CHARGING BATTERY. THUS, CAR CAN STOP WITHOUT WARNING DUE TO LOW BATTERY BECAUSE OF WEAR AND NEEDING REPLACEMENT- WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, EVERYTHING IN CAR WORKS ON ELECTRICITY CAN CAUSE A VERY BAD ACCIDENT IF STOPS IN TRAFFIC. ALSO, WITH NO KEY OVERRIDE WHEN THE CAR ELECTRICAL MODULE WILL NOT READ TO THE KEY FOB IF YOU ARE IN OR OUT OF THE CAR YOU CAN NOT OPEN DOORS OR WINDOWS OR TURN ON OR OFF ANYTHING, IF DOORS/WINDOWS LOCKED WHEN THIS HAPPENS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS-NO WAY TO GET OUT OR IN. IF STUCK IN THE DESERT WITHOUT HELP AND CAR MODULE STOPS PICKING UP KEY FOB ONE IS SOL. LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE FACT THAT CHRYSLER CREATES RECALLS ONLY FOR A SELECT FEW WHEN THEY KNOW THAT THEY CONTINUE TO USE THE SAME FAULTY TECHNOLOGY ON MOST OF THEIR CARS THEY BUILD. MY REAR DOOR MODULE STOPPED WORKING AND I HAD TO REPLACE IT AND IT COST ME OVER $500. WHEN GOING ONLINE I SEE THAT CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM FOR OLDER MODELS BUT WOULD NOT COVER THE NEWER YEARS ALTHOUGH THEY USED THE SAME FAULTY TECHNOLOGY ON THEM AS WELL. FORTUNATELY, I HAD JUST PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE AND DID NOT LOCK THE DOORS SO WE COULD STILL GET IN IT AND HAVE IT TOWED.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, MY DRIVERS SIDE HEAD REST "EXPLODED" AND HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THE FORCE PUSHED ME FORWARD AND I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT I WAS REAR-ENDED. I ENDED UP WITH A SEVERE HEADACHE AND SORE NECK. I CAN SEE THIS DEFECT EASILY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD, BUT COULD HAVE EASILY LOST CONTROL IF I WAS GOING AROUND A CURVE OR EXPRESSWAY RAMP. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK MY VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS NOW. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THIS WAS A KNOWN ERROR AND CHRYSTER HAS MADE MODIFICATIONS TO THE GAS TANK/VAPER LOCK BUT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE $1600 IT WILL COST TO FIX IT. IF THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT, THEN IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC FROM A PARKING LOT, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXCESSIVE EFFORT WAS NEEDED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAVE SYVERSON CHRYSLER (LOCATED AT 2310 E MAIN ST, ALBERT LEA, MN 56007, (507) 373-1438) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER REPLACED SEVERAL OF THE COMPUTERS IN THE VEHICLE, WHICH POSSIBLY INCLUDED THE ECM, PCM, AND TCM; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,999.
INTERIOR DASH AND DOOR TRIM DETACHING FROM INTERIOR. SHARP CARBON FIBER TRIM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO OCCUPANT ENTERING AND EXITING AUTO.
SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT IS ON. I PULLED UP INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE LIGHT POPPED ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATED, AND THE DISPLAY SCREEN WENT BLANK. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE BEFORE THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT HE COULD SMELL SMOKE FROM THE ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED MARBURGER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 1310 E DIXON BLVD, SHELBY, NC 28152, (704) 484-0049) TO NOTIFY THEM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING FAILURES SIMILAR TO WHAT WAS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). I RECENTLY HAD THE ECODIESEL UPDATE INSTALLED ON OUR 2014 ECODIESEL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE STATEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER IS THE DRIVING CONDITIONS, FUEL MILEAGE, AND PERFORMANCE WILL NOT BE IMPACTED DUE TO THE ECM UPDATE. THESE ARE FALSE STATEMENTS AS THE UPDATED HAS GREATLY IMPACTED OUR VEHICLE! FUEL MILEAGE AS DECREASED GREATLY, THERE IS A HUGE LAG IN THE TURBO, AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GEARS ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE UPDATE IS UNSAFE! MY WIFE DRIVES THIS CAR WITH OUR TWIN 15 MONTH OLD BOYS. THE LACK IN RESPONSE OF THE TURBO MAKES IT UNSAFE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THERE IS NO GET UP AND GO, IT'S DIFFICULT TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, AND NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS. THERE IS NO RESPONSIVNESS IN THE THROTTLE TO FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER THE CAR. WE LOVED THIS CAR BEFORE THE MADATED UPDATE (WE LIVE IN CALIFORNIA, WE HAVE TO GET THE UPDATE TO REGISTER THE CAR). NO WE FEEL LIKE THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH OUR CHILDREN IN IT!
I RECENTLY DID THE EMISSIONS RECALL UPDATE FOR THE ECODIESEL. SINCE THE UPDATE I HAVE HAD VERY ABRUPT SHIFTING AND NOTICEABLY BAD TURBO LAG. WHEN I PULL OUT SOMETIMES I DON'T GET UP TO SPEED IN TIME BECAUSE THE LAG IS SO.BAD BAD FROM MY PEDAL TO THE ENGINE. LASTLY NOW THAT IS A LITTLE COLDER OUTSIDE I HAVE NOTICED WHEN THE CAR SHIFTS FROM 2ND GEAR TO 1ST GEAR IT DOES SO VERY ABRUPTLY AND ALARMINGLY.
DROVE MY CAR A SHORT DISTANCE TO A DESTINATION. TURNED THE CAR OFF TO COMPLETE MY ERRAND. RETURNED TO MY CAR 10 MINUTES LATE AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START. THE EQUIPMENT WOULD COME ON,I.E. RADIO, LIGHTS, BUT BRAKE SEEMED TO BE LOCKED AND ENGINE WOULD NOT START. THIS HAPPENED DURING CITY STREET DRIVING. I JUST PURCHASE THE GARDEN THE DEALER ABOUT 3MOS AGO.
THE MOST RECENT RECALL TO CORRECT ENGINE PROGRAMMING TO MEET EMISSIONS HAS HAD A SEVERE IMPACT ON ENGINE AND VEHICLE PERFORMANCE. THERE IS A SEVERAL SECOND DELAY IN ACCELERATION FROM WHEN THE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED TO WHEN THE VEHICLE RESPONDS AND BEGINS TO MOVE, THAT DID NOT EXIST PRIOR TO RECALL REPAIRS. THIS DELAY IS MOST NOTICEABLE FROM A STANDING START. THE DELAY IN ACCELERATION IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE WHEN THE DRIVER MAKES A DECISION TO ACCELERATE AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND ACCIDENTS COULD OCCUR.
DEALER TOLD ME I HAVE A SLOW POWER STEERING LEAK WITH RACK AND PINION STEERING. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR VEHICLE THAT HAS POTENTIAL SAFETY IMPACTS FOR POTENTIAL FIRE, YET I DON'T SHOW THIS AS A RECALL AFFECTING MY VEHICLE.
THE CAR IS MAKING A HUMMING NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE WIND NOISE FROM THE WINDSHIELD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE . THE NOISE OCCURS MORE OFTEN AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 60 MPH BUT ISN'T EVERY TIME. IT STARTS GRADUALLY AND GROWS LOUDER. IT IS DISTRACTING AND NOT GOOD FOR DRIVERS BEING ABLE TO FOCUS ON THE ROAD.
ON OUR 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THE PLASTIC SEAT BELT GUIDE, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS CRACKED PINCHING DOWN ON THE SEAT BELT RENDERING IT NOT USABLE. THE SEAT BELT WILL EXPAND OUT, HOWEVER IT DOES NOT RETRACT IN DUE TO THE PRESSURE FROM THE BROKEN PIECE. THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT STOP THE PASSENGER IN A SUDDEN IMPACT AND HAS ENOUGH SLACK THAT YOU CAN EASILY MAKE CONTACT WITH THE DASH AND STEERING WHEEL. THIS MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHILE STATIONARY.*DT COMSUMER STATED IT WAS NOT TAKEN ANYWHERE FOR DIAGNOSIS AS I HAVE BEEN A MECHANIC FOR OVER 30 YEARS. I DID NOT KEEP ANY RECORDS BUT I DID FIX THE PROBLEM BY TRIMMING THE PLASTIC ON THE UPPER SIDE OF THE SEATBELT OPENING TO ALLOW FREE MOVEMENT. THIS DID NOT IN ANY WAY COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF THE SEATBELT OR THE ABILITY FOR IT TO PERFORM IT'S JOB AS THE TOP OF THE PLASTIC TRIM SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TOUCHING IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE PLASTIC GUARD IS THERE TO KEEP DIRT, DUST AND LITTLE FINGERS FROM GETTING INSIDE THE BELT ASSEMBLY AND PERFORMS NO OTHER FUNCTION. BY REMOVING 1/8" FROM THE TOP OF THE OPENING, THE SEATBELT IS NOW FREE TO MOVE BACK INTO THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR AND STILL PROVIDE PROTECTION FROM ANYTHING ENTERING INTO THE SEATBELT AREA BEHIND THE PLASTIC TRIM. SEAT BELT DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE OF POOR DESIGN.*JB

IN ADDITION, THE FORWARD FACING CAMERA THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO ST. CLAIR CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5224, 1250 S CARNEY DR, ST CLAIR, MI 48079, 810-329-2100) WHERE THEY PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND GAVE HIM THE CONTACT A REPAIR ESTIMATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR. THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR SPECIFICS WERE NOT DISCLOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,900.

TAKATA RECALL AS I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET AND WAS TRYING TO TURN, MY STEERING WHEEL STOPPED WORKING. IT WOULDN'T TURN AT ALL SO I HAD TO PULL OVER AND CALL FOR HELP. I GOT IT TO A SHOP AND THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
A MESSAGE DISPLAYED IN OUR SCREEN THAT THE 911 CAR PHONE NEEDED SERVICING AND TO CONTACT THE JEEP DEALER. AT THAT POINT THE GPS MALFUNCTIONED, THE FRONT AND BACK DEFROSTERS STARTED TO FUNCTION AT FULL SPEED AT 78 DEGREES AND ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THE RADIO FUNCTIONS WERE USEABLE. UCONNECT SENT JEEP DEALER AN UPDATE FOR THE RADIO AND THE UPDATE FAILED. WE WERE TOLD OUR JEEP NEEDED TIME THE RADIO TO BE REPLACED. BUT WE COULD ONLY GET A REFURBISHED RADIO AND THERE WEREN'T ANY AVAILABLE. IT HAS BEEN 4 WEEKS AND UCONNECT INFORMED US THAT THERE HAS BEEN AN ADDITIONAL DELAY ON THE REFURBISHED RADIO. WE REQUESTED A NEW RADIO BE INSTALLED AND A RENTAL CAR PROVIDED TO US UNTIL THE RADIO IS FULLY FUNCTIONING. WE ARE INFORMED BY BOTH JEEP DEALER AND UCONNECT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FOR US UNTIL THE REFURBISHED RADIO BECOMES AVAILABLE. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. A NEW RADIO VENDOR SHOULD BE USED. UCONNECT IS INADEQUATE TO SERVICE THEIR PRODUCT IN A TIMELY FASHION, CANNOT PROVIDE A NEW RADIO REPLACEMENT IN STOCK, AND ONLY CAN OFFER REFURBISHED RADIO REPLACEMENT AND CANNOT GIVE A DATE WHEN ONE WILL BE AVAILABLE. WE LIVE IN ILLINOIS BUT ARE VACATIONING IN CALIFORNIA AND OUR CAR IS STUCK ON 78 DEGREE DEFROSTERS.RUNNING FULL SPEED. NO GPS OR ANY OTHER FEATURES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RADIO.
