THE POWER STEERING BECOMES INEFFECTIVE PARTICULARLY IN COLDER WEATHER. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE, POWER STEERING PROBLEMS ARE VERY COMMON WITH THIS YEAR MODEL. THIS STARTED HAPPENING IN 2017 TO OUR VEHICLE. WE HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, MOVE THE WHEEL LEFT & RIGHT A FEW TIMES TO GET IT TO START WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN WE ARE GOING FROM REVERSE, THEN SWITCH GEARS TO DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET, IN OUR DRIVE WAY, & WHEN TURNING AT A RED LIGHT, IT WAS VERY SCARY FOR MY WIFE WHEN IT HAPPENED AT THE LIGHT.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO NOT RETRACT. IT CAME TO A POINT WHERE THE PASSENGER WOULD STRAP IN THE BELT AND THEY WOULD HAVE ENOUGH ROOM ON THEIR LAP FOR AN ADDITIONAL 2 PEOPLE IN ORDER FOR BELT TO FEEL SECURE. WHEN I FINALLY GOT IT TO RETRACT BACK IN, I COULDN'T GET IT OUT AGAIN. IN ORDER FOR A PASSENGER TO SIT COMFORTABLY WHILE WEARING THE BELT, THEY WOULD HAVE TO RECLINE THE SEAT ALL THE WAY BACK. I REACHED OUT TO 2 DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERS IN MY AREA AND RECEIVED A QUOTE FOR ABOUT $540.00 BEFORE TAXES. I WAS ALSO TOLD IF MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER 60,000 MILES, I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE WORK DONE FOR FREE. MY LUCK RIGHT?! IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE TO PAY ABOUT $600 FOR SOMETHING THAT IS AN APPARENT ISSUE FOR A LOT OF OTHER JEEP GC OWNERS. THERE SHOULD BE AN OPEN AND ACTIVE RECALL FOR THIS AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE! TO MAKE MATTER WORSE, MY DRIVER SEATBELT FEELS LIKE IT IS ALSO ON ITS WAY OUT BECAUSE IT IS SLOWING RETRACTING AFTER I TAKE IT OFF. I LOVE MY JEEP, HOWEVER, THE COMPANY NEEDS TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND REALIZE THAT THIS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT CAN AND WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH DUE TO A FAULTY SEATBELT RETRACTOR THAT SHOULD BE BROKEN AFTER 5 YEARS!!!!!
THE HEADREST OF THE DRIVERS SEAT DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND AND THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STEADY SPEED WITH NO SUDDEN JOLTS OR STOPS. I HEARD A VERY LOUD POP AND THE HEADREST HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THE INCIDENT STARTLED ME AND CAUSED ME TO HIT MY BREAKS.
SEATS - DRIVERS SEAT - SEAT CONTROLS BROK AWAY FROM THE SEAT. SEAT CONTROL TRIM REPLACED, SEAT FRAME REPLACED, PROBLEM HAS RETURNED AGAIN. RADIO - SCREEN GOES BLACK RANDOMLY. RADIO REPLACED 2 TIMES AND MODULE ONCE THESE ARE OVER VARIOUS DATES AN CURRENTLY AN ISSUE AGAIN. WILL SELECT CURRENT DATE
THE 'SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM' DISPLAY AND AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. I HAD IT REPAIRED BUT THE DEALER SAID IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER THE 'SAFETY WARRANTY' . I THINK IT SHOULD BE.
COMPLETE ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATIONS FAILURE OF INSTRUMENT PANEL FROM UNKNOWN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL OVER TRANSMISSION SHIFTING AND MOST CONTROL SWITCHES LIKE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, TURN SIGNALS, EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND BRAKE WARNING LIKE IS ON THAT I BELIEVE INDICATED NO ABS. EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM MANY TIMES DRIVING ON I-75 IN MICHIGAN AND OHIO. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING. INITIAL WARNING IS "SERVICE SHIFTER SOON" FOLLOWED BY "NO BUS". AFTER MULTIPLE TRIPS TO THE FCA DEALER, ROOT CAUSE NOT IDENTIFIED AND MORE FIX TO DATE. SUSPECT THE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER MALFUNCTIONING BUT NO HELP FROM DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. REOCCURING PROBLEM FOR THE PAST 9 MONTHS. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 79,000 MILES WITH VIN # (XXX) 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. NO ACCIDENTS OR AFTERMARKET ADD ON WORK EVER. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE TO FLORIDA FOR RETIREMENT ON 1-25-2019 THROUGH 1-29-2019. AGAIN, NO RESOLUTION FROM GOLLING CHRYSLER OR FROM FCA STAR CASE #57876853. RIMS WILL COLLECT MUD, DIRT, SNOW AND BECOME SEVERELY OUT OF BALANCE. LIVING ON A GRAVEL/DIRT ROAD MAKES THIS A RE-OCCURRING. REQUIRING THE INSIDE OF THE RIMS TO BE WASHED OUT. NEVER IN 54 YEARS OF DRIVING HAVE I OWNED A VEHICLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT MAKES THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE RIMS IS WASHED OUT.
IN COLD TEMPERATURES, THE JEEP QUADRALIFT AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM FREEZES AND SHORTS OUT THE RELAY. THIS RENDERS THE AIR SUSPENSION USELESS AND MAKES DRIVING UNSAFE. MY VEHICLE WAS FIXED ONLY TO HAVE THE UNIT FAIL A WEEK LATER WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THERE IS CLEARLY A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE SYSTEM IN THAT IT DOES NOT WORK IN COLD TEMPERATURES.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING A 40MPH STREET WHEN I WAS GOING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. I WAS WAITING FOR CARS TO PASS TO MAKE THE TURN WHEN THE THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. I WAS TRYING TO TURN BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T LET ME ACCELERATE. I AM THANKFUL THAT THERE WASN'T ANY CARS COMING TOWARDS ME. I PULLED OVER TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON IT WENT AWAY. THE CAR HAD A RECALL IN 2017 FOR THE ALTERNATOR. I HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT WHERE I WAS DRIVING AND THE JEEP HAD SLOWED DOWN IT COMPLETELY TURNED OFF BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AT A APARTMENT COMPLEX. THE JEEPS DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE FLASHING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ON REALLY FAST, EVERYTHING WAS FLASHING. I COULDN'T PUT THE CAR IN PARKING, IT WAS SMOKING. I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT, I HAD MANAGED TO TURN AROUND GET HER OUT WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE PEDAL JUMP OUT OF THE CAR WITH HER IN MY ARMS. THE CAR KEPT MOVING UNTIL IT CRASHED INTO A CAR INFRONT OF IT. I FELT LIKE I WAS GOING TO DIE WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I FEEL LIKE THE THROTTLE COULD BE RELATED TO THE ALTERNATOR. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR.
TWO OCCURRENCES OF CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE LEAVING ME STRANDED ON HIGHWAY FEARING FOR MY LIFE. FIRST EVENT DEALER HAD JEEP FOR 5 MONTHS TO "REPLACE MOTOR" I HAD TO CONTACT THEM SEVERAL TIMES AFTER GETTING IT BACK TO OBTAIN DOCUMENTATION AND WAS TOLD ORIGINAL WARRANTY OF 100K MILES WOULD BE RENEWED. RECENT SECOND OCCURRENCE AT 60K MILES ON NEW MOTOR DEALERSHIP HAS NOW HAD VEHICLE FOR OVER 2 MONTHS. NOW TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR HIGH PRESSURE DIESEL PUMP THEY REPLACED, CAR STILL NOT RUNNING. PLAN TO REPLACE ALL VALVES, WILL IT RUN? INITIALLY IT HAD SHOWN SO MANY CODES THEY COULDN'T DETERMINE WHY THE CAR FAILED. NHTSA HAS OVER 130 COMPLAINTS ON THIS MOTOR. JEEP FIAT CHRYSLER AWAITING GOVT. TO SIGN OFF ON EMISSIONS SCANDAL SETTLEMENT THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO NOT HAVE TO BUY BACK THIS VEHICLE, UNLIKE VOLKSWAGEN WHO DID THE RIGHT THING FOR SAME ISSUE AND BOUGHT BACK. UNLIKE VOLKSWAGEN THIS VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE DOCUMENTED DEFECTS AND SAFETY ISSUES. I AM BEING STONEWALLED BY JEEP FOR RESOLUTION. SINCE MY PURCHASE OF THIS JEEP IN 10/2014 IT HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS UNRELATED TO NORMAL USE MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT, OVER 7 MONTHS IN SHOP WHILE I AM PAYING ON IT WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE IT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR RELIABILITY, IT HAS FAILED THAT TEST OVER TIME. THEY COULD AGAIN REPLACE THE MOTOR AND I DO NOT WANT THE VEHICLE BACK, I WILL NOT AGAIN RISK BEING STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY, ENGINE NEARLY ON FIRE AFTER SHAKING, KNOCKING, ROCKING, AND SMOKING NOT ABLE TO TURN OFF UNTIL IT DIES. I REFUSE TO RESELL IT TO SOME UNKNOWING UNSUSPECTING PERSON THAT WILL END UP WITH A LEMON IF THE DEALER GETS IT RUNNING. THIS JEEP NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE! JEEP AND THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS NEED TO BE MADE TO STOP DEFRAUDING CONSUMERS AND MAKING MILLIONS ON A DEFECTIVE LEMON. I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MANY ISSUES WITH A VEHICLE IN MY LIFE. HELP!!!
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 50MPH AND THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED STRIKING ME IN THE HEAD. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY A COLLUSION JUST DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE WITHOUT CAUSING A CRASH. UNDER FURTHER INSPECTION IT WAS NOTICED THE PLASTIC CLIPS HOLDING THE PIN WERE BROKEN. I RESEARCHED THIS AND HAVE NOTICED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT FIAT NEEDS TO RECALL THIS YEAR MODEL AND HEADREST BEFORE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IS CAUSED. ALSO THE VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY SO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE COST OF A FAULTY SYSTEM.
MIDDLE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT WHEN THE BELT IS RELEASED. YOU HAVE TO FEED THE BELT ALL THE WAY BACK INTO THE SEAT AND THEN IT IS STILL SLIGHTLY LOOSE. THIS IS NOT EVEN COVERED BY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY EITHER. SINCE THE BELT WILL NOT RETRACT AND TIGHTEN CORRECTLY I'M AFRAID TO USE IT UNTIL I GET IT REPAIRED. I HAVE A CAR SEAT IN THE BACK BUT WE CAN NOT USE THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT FOR OUR BABY UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.
MY DASHBOARD OUT OF NO WHERE JUST GOT BUBBLE AND WRINKLED..
PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT TENSIONER/RETRACTION MECHANISM BROKE, DRIVERS SIDE IS ON ITS WAY OUT. CAR HAS 40K MILES ON IT. 700 PER SIDE TO FIX OUT OF WARRANTY. SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. WILL NEVER BUY FROM FCA AGAIN UNLESS THIS IS RECALLED/REMEDIED.
I HAVE A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DIESEL MODEL WHEN I'M DRIVING A LOT OF DIESEL FUMES ENTER THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE I CHANGED CABIN FILTER AND STILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM
AFTER THE RECENT RECALL WAS COMPLETED IT'S NOT HARD FOR MY CAR TO SHIFT INTO DESIRED GEAR. IT MUST HAVE THE BREAKS FULLY APPLIED IN ORDER TO GO FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE ON CITY STREETS IF IT GETS BUMPED OR GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH. IT HAS CAUSED SEVERAL OCCASIONS OF THE CAR WASH LOCATION I GO TO TO SHUT DOWN BECAUSE I CAN'T GET MY CAR INTO DRIVE IN TIME. WHILE HOOKING UP A TRAILER I CAN NOT SAFELY BACK UP TO IT BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE, BEFORE I HAD TO LEAVE MY DRIVER DOOR SLIGHTLY OPEN TO NAVIGATE AND NOW IT AUTO SHIFTS INTO PARK. THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING. THE WORST PART IS I PAID $600 FOR A 'BACK UP SYSTEM' FROM THE MANUFACTURER UPON PURCHASE- THEY ONLY INSTALLED SENSORS AND NO CAMERA! I COMPLAINED MANY TIMES BUT NEVER GOT THE ATTENTION OR EQUIPMENT I THOUGHT I PURCHASED. NOW THAT 'RECALL' MADE EVERYTHING WORSE AND ALMOST CAUSE ACCIDENTS I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH BEFORE.
MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER PARKING MY GRAND CHEROKEE AND VERIFYING THAT IT IS IN PARK VIA THE DASH, I'VE NOTICED MY GRAND CHEROKEE ROLLING A FEW FEET IF PARKED ON AN INCLINE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT TYPICALLY ROLLS 3-5 FEET, AND THEN STOPS.
THE DEFROST AND TEMPERATURE WILL IT STAY CONSTANT. I CAN SET THE TEMP TO 70. IT WILL GET SUPER HOT AND MINUTES LATER IT FEELS LIKE THE AC IS ON. THE DEFROST DOESN'T WORK MOST OF THE TIME AND WILL NOT DEFROST THE MIRRORS
I OWN 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE OVER, 40,000 MILES. THE COVERING ON THE IS SEPARATING IN SEVERAL AREAS. THE PLASTIC VENT COVERS ON THE DASHBOARD HAVE ALSO SEPARATED FROM THE DASH COVER. VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGED MOST OF THE TIME OTHERWISE HAVE USED SUN PROTECTORS ON DASH.
I STARTED RECEIVING THIS ERROR JUST AFTER THE 'RECALL FIX' FOR THE SHIFTER. NOW IT GOES ON WHILE DRIVING AND SHIFTING. THEY WANTED $180 JUST TO EVALUATE THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH I TOLD JEEP SERVICE THE ISSUE IS THEIR FAULT.

VEHICLE LUNGES AND BUCKS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GEARS WHILE DRIVING AND ENGINE STALLS AFTER REFUELING OR DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS NUMEROUS OTHER SERVICE LIGHTS COME ON AND CAR STALLS MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND AFTER REFUELING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO DICK SCOTT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (734-451-2110, LOCATED AT 684 ANN ARBOR RD, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,800.

CONSTANTLY WILL MAKE A SQUEELING SOUND EVERY MORNING ON START UP. LASTS OVER A MINUTE - NOT EVEN ON COLD DAYS! HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT - STATE CAN'T DUPLICATE THE OEUVRE (OF COURSE BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS THE FIRST START UP! ROUGH IDLE EVERY 2-3 MINUTES, TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD OUT OF FIRST GEAR. POUR FUEL ECONOMY AS WELL. MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE. JUST BOUGHT THE CAR - SEVERAL ISSUES
MOTOR OIL IS LEAKING FROM THE OIL COOLER/FILTER HOUSING. OIL HAS PUDDLED IN THE ENGINE VALLEY AND RUN DOWN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING. VEHICLE SMELLS LIKE HOT MOTOR OIL AND OIL LEVEL WAS LOW.
KEEP GETTING A MESSAGE THAT STATES THE 911 SYSTEM NEEDS MAINTENANCE. WHEN STARTING MY JEEP MY SCREEN WILL STAY BLANK FOR ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES BEFORE COMING ON. WHEN IT IS BLANK I AM UNABLE TO USE MY BACK UP CAMERA, ADJUST MY CLIMATE CONTROLS, BLUETOOTH PHONE. THE VEHICLE WILL SWITCH BETWEEN AIR CONDITIONING AND HEAT, HIGH FAN AND LOW FAN SPEED. WHEN THE SCREEN IS BLANK I AM UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING.....EVEN USING THE BUTTONS BELOW THE SCREEN DO NOT WORK. I AM UNABLE TO UNLOCK MY DOORS USING MY DOOR UNLOCK/LOCK CONTROL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. WHILE IM DRIVING I CAN UNLOCK MY DOORS, WHICH AS A SAFETY FEATURE I SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO. MY OIL CHANGE NOTIFICATION WILL NOT GO AWAY EVEN AFTER GETTING MY OIL CHANGED.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ONE MORNING WHILE IT WAS STILL DARK I NOTICED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE HEAD LIGHT WENT OUT AND CAME BACK ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE NEXT MORNING I TRIED AGAIN AND ALL THE LIGHTS WENT IN AND OUT COMPLETELY. PROVIDING A VERY DANGEROUS SATIATION NOT ONLY TO ME BUT OTHER DRIVER'S. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER (HAD TO WAIT ONE WEEK TO GET IT IN TO SERVICE). THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID THEY NEEDED TO ORDER A PART AND GAVE THE JEEP BACK AND WOULD CALL WHEN THEY HAD THE PART. WHEN WE TOOK IT BACK FOR THE REPAIRS THEY KEPT THE JEEP FOR THREE WEEKS TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SAYING THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE FIX AFTER CHRYSLER TOLD THEM TO CHANGE A PART IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. WHEN THAT DID NOT WORK THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND GOT A TECHNICIAN WHO ADVISE THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER CHANGE OUT THE HEADLIGHTS AND CHARGED US $917.88 FOR THE REPAIRS SAYING IT WAS NOT COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I TRULY BELIEVE THIS IS A CHRYSLER PROBLEM WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES, WIRING OR COMPUTERS AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY CHRYSLER NOT BY INDIVIDUAL OWNERS. THIS IS SUBSTANTIATED BY ALL THE COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM.
ON OUR 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THE PLASTIC SEAT BELT GUIDE, ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAS CRACKED PINCHING DOWN ON THE SEAT BELT RENDERING IT NOT USABLE. THE SEAT BELT WILL EXPAND OUT, HOWEVER IT DOES NOT RETRACT IN DUE TO THE PRESSURE FROM THE BROKEN PIECE. THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT STOP THE DRIVER IN A SUDDEN IMPACT AND HAS ENOUGH SLACK THAT YOU CAN EASILY MAKE CONTACT WITH THE DASH AND STEERING WHEEL. THIS MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHILE STATIONARY, AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED BY FCA.

OIL FILTER HOUSING LEAK. NOTICED CAR BEGAN LEAKING OIL AFTER JEEP DEALER CHAGNED OIL. TOOK TO A DIFFERENT DEALER, AND FOUND OUT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING WAS LEAKING. KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE AND YEAR, YET THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL.
MY DASH BOARD IS SEPARATED, MEANING THE LEATHER IS SEPARATING FROM THE DASH FOR NO REASON, THIS IS KNOW PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. MY JEEP IS A GARAGE KEPT, AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS IS WELL PROBLEM AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THEY WANT OVER $3000 TO REPLACE THE DASH. I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS, PLUS I KNOW THREE OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES. CHRYSLER SHOULD REPLACE THE DASH AT NO COST TO US THE CUSTOMER, THESE VEHICLES ARE IN THE 40 AND 50,000 RANGE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE KIND OF ISSUES.
WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING SPOT, AND STOPPING. I PUSHED THE SHIFT LEVER ALL THE WAY FORWARD, UNTIL IT STOPPED, RELEASED THE FOOT BRAKE, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING BACKWARDS. I STILL HAD MY HAND ON THE SHIFTER, AND ATTEMPTED TO PUSH IT FARTHER, BUT IT WAS ALL THE WAY FORWARD, AND WOULD NOT MOVE FURTHER. AT THE SAME TIME I LOOKED AT THE INDICATOR AND IT SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, AND IT WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK. MEANWHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL MOVING BACKWARDS AND ALMOST STUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD TO RELEASE THE SHIFTER, AND PUSH IT FORWARD AGAIN, ALONG WITH STEPPING ON BRAKE PEDAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 3 TIMES. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATE DONE TO IT. THE UPDATE IS ONLY GOOD IF YOU ARE TRYING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. IF YOU ARE NOT PAYING VERY CLOSE ATTENTION, WHEN YOU PARK, THE VEHICLE WILL TAKE OFF IN REVERSE UNEXPECTEDLY, VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
COOLANT WEEPAGE AT EGR HOSE SAME SYMPTOM AS DESCRIBED IN SERVICE BULLETIN 07-003-14 WHILE STATIONARY
THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NO LONGER RETRACT WHICH MEANS IT CANNOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN A CRASH I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND TO CALL THE CHRYSLER HELP LINE. I DID, THE SUPERVISIOR ANTHONY STATED IT WAS A MECHANICAL PART AND OUT OF THE WARRANTY BY MILEAGE AND TIME. I ASKED IF THE AIRBAGS WERE ALSO OUT OF WARRANTY. THE MAN SAID THAT'S RIDICULOUS. I STATED WHAT REASON OTHER THAN A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WOULD CAUSE THIS HE SAID HE COULDN'T SPECULATE. I SAID ME NEITHER SINCE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT DOESN'T COME APART. WHICH, IN MY OPINION, WOULD PUT THE RESPONSIBILITY BACK ON THE MFG. TO RECAP - A SAFETY COMPONENT THAT IS LEGALLY REQUIRED TO BE USED AND HAS NO REASON FOR BEING INOPERABLE OTHER THAN MFG DEFECT WAS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED. AND THEY DID RECALL WORK ON THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE WHILE I WAS THERE. HONDA AND OTHERS WARRANTY SAFETY COMPONENTS FOREVER.
OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS SITTING IN OUR CLOSED GARAGE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. WHEN WE WENT INTO OUR GARAGE WE NOTICED THE REAR WINDOW HAD EXPLODED OUT AND THERE WAS GLASS EVERYWHERE. THE WINDOW IS SHATTERED EVERYWHERE EVEN ON THE EDGES. IT SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED ON ITS OWN. NO ONE WAS DRIVING OR IN IT AT THE TIME.
Seatbelt retractor faulty Could not secure seatbelt around driver side of seat which IF an accident occurred, no restraint to hold in passenger. Yes Vehicle was inspected by the dealership and replaced for $527.50. There was no warning or problems prior to failure of the seatbelt retractor.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM DISPLAYS INCORRECT INFORMATION. MAP IS 2012 FOR A 06/13 BUILD ON A 2014 VEHICLE. ALSO, RADIO SOFTWARE CANNOT BE UPDATED, WHICH IS NEEDED FOR MAP UPDATE. JEEP CLAIMS NEITHER IS A DEFECT OR FRAUD. NAVIGATION DISPLAYS INCORRECT ROADS (NAMES, LOCATIONS), SPEED LIMITS, AND INTERSECTION/JUNCTION INFORMATION. HUGE POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENTS. PROBLEM WHEN IN MOTION.
WILL PUSH TO START WHILE MY FOOT ON BRAKE AND IT WILL NOT START. LIGHTS RADIO ALL INTERIOR WILL TURN ON BUT ENGINE WILL NOT START . IT HAPPENS AT FIRST ATTEMPT IN THE MORNING AND IT WILL HAPPEN AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY. IT COULD BE OFF FOR 15 MINUTES TO 5 HOURS AND IT WILL STALL THE SAME. ITS PARKED IN GARAGE, BUT ITS THE SAME IF I LEAVE OUTDOORS. THIS HAS BECOME AN EVERY DAY THING FOR THE LAST 3 OR 4 MONTHS.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. A BURNING ODOR WAS PERCEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO WALSER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (866-323-0559, LOCATED AT 314 MAINSTREET, HOPKINS, MN 55343) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000.
THE BRAKES ON OUR GRAND CHEROKEE STOPPED WORKING WHILE IN A PARKING GARAGE. AFTER GETTING THE CAR TOWED BACK HOME THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER. THE ISSUE I HAVE WITH THAT IS I HAD TAKEN IT IN FOR THE RECALL EARLIER IN THE YEAR AND IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY TAKEN CARE OF. EITHER THEIR INTERIM FIX DID NOT WORK OR THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING WHEN I TOOK IT IN THE FIRST TIME. WE WERE FORTUNATE NO ONE WAS HURT.
CAR CUT OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING IN TRAFFIC. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I HAD TO CALL 911 BECAUSE I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC. CAR WAS TOWED. IT WAS DETERMINED THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT NEEDED REPLACING WHICH IS EXPENSIVE. THIS CAR IS JUST 4 YEARS OLD AND I'VE KEPT IT SERVICED. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED. I HAVE RECEIPTS.

EXCESSIVE CORROSION ON THE OUTER THREADS AND NUT THAT HOLD THE HUB (ROTOR/WHEEL & TIRE) ON THE AXLE. I HAVE PICTURES FROM THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT ON MARCH 10TH 2018. IT LOOKS EXPONENTIALLY WORSE TODAY. LEFT WITHOUT REPLACEMENT THE WHEEL & HUB WILL FAIL & CAUSE SERIOUD INJURY IN LESS THAN 12 MONTH. RECOMMEND MANDATORY MANUFACTURE RECALL ON 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE. THE PIC ATTACHED IS FROM MARCH 2018. THE CORROSION IS EXPONENTIALLY WORSE ON 11/12/2018.
OIL COOLER HOUSING ON MY 3.6 L PENTASTAR ENGINE, WHICH IS MADE OF PLASTIC, HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK CAUSING MOTOR OIL TO LEAK ONTO THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. THERE COULD BE A POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE. DEALER HAS THESE ON BACK ORDER. THIS PART USED TO BE MADE OF METAL ON PRIOR MODELS AND WAS NOT AN ISSUE. SOUNDS TO ME THAT THIS PART SHOULD BE REDESIGNED.

WENT TO START MY CAR TODAY, AND THERE WAS A LONG CRANK BUT THE CAR DID NOT TURN ON. THIS HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES. FINALLY, THE THIRD TIME DURING THE LONG CRANK, I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINE FINALLY TURNED ON. DURING THE WHOLE THING, THE DASHBOARD WAS ON, LIGHTS WERE ON, AND RADIO WAS ON - SO IT WAS NOT A BATTERY ISSUE. THERE WAS NO WARNINGS ON MY DASHBOARD AND NO LIGHTS TURNED ON AFTERWARDS - AS IF EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I AM WORRIED BECAUSE I HAVE READ MULTIPLE LISTINGS REGARDING CARS STALLING WHILE IN DRIVE, OR WORSENING OF THESE SYMPTOMS. I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A TPIM RECALL CONTRIBUTING TO FAULTY STALLING - BUT 2014 MODEL WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. IF MY CAR SYMPTOMS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE - I AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING - PLACING ME AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD IN HIGH RISK FOR DANGER.
TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN DEGRADING AS I DRIVE. IT STARTED BY DOWNSHIFTING TO 3RD GEAR AND IT GOT STUCK. NOW CONSISTENTLY I CANNOT SHIFT FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR WITHOUT HARD SHIFTING AND MAKING A LOUD NOICE WHILE IN AUTOMATIC, IT DOES HELP CHANGING GEARS WHILE USING THE HAND PEDALS AND NOT ACCELERATING AND GOING SLOW TO BE ABLE TO SHIFT TO 4TH GEAR... I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER WHEN I DO OIL CHANGE BUT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME TO DIAGNOSE WHICH IS A POWER TRAIN AND EVERY TIME I TAKE IT THEY SAY THERE IS NOT ANYTHING. IT USED TO BEHAVE WHEN COLD BUT NOW EVEN IF ENGINE IS HOT AND DRIVEN IT DOES THE SAME. SOMETIMES EVEN WITH PEDALS THE TRANSMISSION SWITCHES BACK TO 3RD EVEN IF I AM IN 6TH GEAR AND DOES NOT GET PASS 3RD GEAR UNLESS I TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. IN ADDITION THE REVERSE DOES NOT WORK IF I DON'T SHIFT RIGHT AWAY ON REVERSE. IF I LEAVE THE ENGINE ON FOR A FEW MINS AND DON'T USE THE REVERSE GEAR IT WON'T LET ME AND GOES TO NEUTRAL AND CAMERA GOES OFF, SO I HAVE TO TURN ENGINE OFF AND THEN I CAN SWITCH TO REVERSE. TRANSMISSION IS HORRIBLE. I CAN'T SWITCH FROM 3RD TO 4TH AND I CAN'T GO REVERSE WITHOUT HAVING TO TURN CAR OFF, WIFE CAN'T DRIVE IT AND DON'T HAVE MONEY TO PAY THE DEALER TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY A FAULT AT THE MANUFACTURE. I'VE CALLED DEALERSHIP BUT THEY ONLY ARE INTERESTED ON CHARGING AND MENTIONED THAT THEY MAY CHARGE ME UP TO 5K TO CHANGE MY TRANSMISSION... I WILL FIND AN EXACT DATE, BUT I AM GIVING AN APPROXIMATE DAY, IT WAS WHEN I WAS HEADING TO COURT TO HELP A FAMILY RELATIVE SO I'LL FIND OUT IF I NEED TO PROVE WHEN EXACTLY THIS STARTED. THANK YOU...
