TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I RECEIVED AN OVER THE AIR UPDATE FOR MY VEHICLE, WHICH I BEGAN TO INSTALL. THE INSTALLATION FAILED, AND THE NEXT TIME I GOT IN MY CAR MANY THINGS WERE WRONG, SOME OF WHICH ARE A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN TO ME. WHEN I PLACE THE CAR IN REVERSE THE BACKUP CAMERA SHOULD COME UP AND THE MIRRORS AUTOMATICALLY REDIRECT DOWNWARDS. SINCE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL THIS UPDATE, SOMETIMES THESE THINGS DON'T HAPPEN AT ALL, OR HAVE A LONG DELAY (OTHERS IT WORKS AS IT SHOULD). OTHER TIMES, THE BACKUP CAMERA AND MIRRORS WILL STAY ON AS IF I AM STILL IN REVERSE WELL AFTER I BEGIN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, WHICH MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO USE THE SIDE MIRRORS AND IS VERY DISTRACTING AND DIZZYING SEEING THE BACKUP CAMERA WHILE DRIVING. ADDITIONALLY, THE GPS HAS BEEN IMPACTED AND OFTEN HAS ME ON A DIFFERENT ROAD AND ANNOUNCES A SPEED LIMIT INCORRECTLY. I CAN NOT FIND A WAY TO STOP THE VOICE FROM ANNOUNCING THE SPEED LIMIT WHILE I'M DRIVING. IN ADDITION, MY BLUETOOTH, PRESETS AND USB CONNECTION ALL STOPPED WORKING. AGAIN, ALL OF THIS WAS WORKING 100% UNTIL THIS UPDATE THAT WAS SENT TO MY CAR. I BELIEVE THE FACT THAT THIS UPDATE WAS SENT TO MY CAR UNSOLICITED AND RESULTED IN THESE ISSUES WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA, MIRRORS, GPS AND SPEED LIMIT CONFUSION ARE ALL SAFETY CONCERNS AND SEEM LIKE SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE WORTH REVIEWING FOR A POTENTIAL RECALL. FYI, I DID TAKE THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE RADIO AND COMPUTER AT AN OUT OF POCKET COST OF $2,400.
THE STEERING IS LOOSE AND UNSTABLE. EVERY TIME YOU HIT ANY BUMP THE STEERING WIGGLES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. PER JEEP THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING IS CONSTANTLY FEELING AS IF IT WILL LOSE CONTROL. THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE THIS IS THAT THE STEERING CONTROL IS LOOSE. IT IS UNSAFE, I'VE COME TO GET USED TO THE STEERING WHEELS JUMPINESS AND THE VEHICLES INSTABILITY IN THE ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE WILL JERK VIOLENTLY WHILE GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD, AND 3RD TO 4TH GEAR. IT ALSO DOES IT WHEN YOU BRAKE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP 7/25/17 AND WAS TOLD THAT A VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PART IS ON BACK ORDER. TODAY, 7/30/17, WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT NO MORE THAN 30MPH ON A CITY STREET, IT GOT STUCK IN 3RD GEAR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. WOULD NOT LET ME DO A MANUAL ENGAGE OR SWITCH TO SPORT MODE. HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR TO GO BACK TO NORMAL.
SUDDEN ALTERNATOR FAIL. BURNED UP AND CAUGHT FIRE.... BURNED BELTS AROUND IT AS WELL. SAW A BETTERY FAIL THEN HOOD STARTED SMOKING WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD!!! SAW RECALLS ON THIS FOR THE 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE BUT NOT SURE WHY MY VIN DOES APPLY?? HAVING SAME EXACT PROBLEM AS THE REST OF THEM THAT WERE RECALLED. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR THE DRIVER AS IT'S BURNING UP UNDER THE HOOD. STILL LOW MILES ON THREE-YEAR-OLD VEHICLE, THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. NEED A RECALL ON THIS MODEL AS WELL -- PLEASE HELP!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WHEN THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE AIR CONDITIONER WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK, IT SUDDENLY BEGAN TO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE REVERSED ONTO THE NEIGHBOR'S YARD WHERE IT CAME TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE NORTH POINT CHRYSLER DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 31950316. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE REMEDY WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR ANOTHER MONTH AND A LOANER VEHICLE COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,500. LEATHER DASH COMING UNGLUED WITH THE ADHESIVE JEEP USED TO ADHERE THE LEATHER DASH TO THE PLASTIC UNDERNEATH CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES ALONG WITH A SAFETY ISSUES THAT CAN BLOCK DEFROST VENT ALONG WITH AIRBAG INTERFERENCE.
VEHICLE STATIONARY AT GAS STATION, USING GASOLINE 87 OCTANE AND FILLING VEHICLE, AFTER ABOUT 8 GALLONS FUEL SPITS OUT OF FILLER NECK AND PUMP STOPS, I HAVE TO SLOWLY AND REPEATEDLY SQUEEZE PUMP TO GET TANK TO FILL. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER A FEW YEARS BACK. WHEN FUEL SPITS OUT OF FILLER IT SPITS ON ME AND THE GROUND POTENTIALLY CAUSING FIRE HAZARD AND DEFINITELY BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

THE CONTACT THEN NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE NOTICED THAT SMOKE CAME FROM THE ENGINE BUT NOTICED A WIRING ODOR. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000. UPDATED 12/13/2017 *LN *JS
WHEN I TRIED TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, THE IGNITION BUTTON FELL INTO THE DASHBOARD. I WAS ABLE TO REACH INTO THE DASHBOARD AND PRESS THE BUTTON SWITCH TO START AND STOP THE ENGINE. THE DEALER CLAIMED IT WAS THE OWNERS' FAULT BECAUSE "THE BUTTON WAS PUSHED TOO HARD" AND A REPLACEMENT HOLDING RING (NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY) ENDED UP COSTING $250 PLUS TAX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID A DEER. IN THE PROCESS, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CLIPPED THE DEER. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE ROADWAY, LANDED IN A DITCH, AND FLIPPED AND ROLLED OVER. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE (THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND)SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE AND HEAD. THE CONTACT (SEATED IN THE FRONT SEAT) SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
JEEP T36 RECALL (NHTSA 17V-435) HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE JULY 2017 BUT JEEP/FCA SAYS PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT OTHER REMEDIES/REPAIRS ARE AVAILABLE SINCE IT HAS BEEN SO LONG.

THE DEALER (ROCKETTOWN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 1221 N H ST, LOMPOC, CA 93436, (805) 617-3000) WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY WHEN THE REMEDY AND PARTS WOULD BE SUPPLIED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED TO DETERMINE WHEN THE REMEDY AND PART WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY SEVEN MONTH PREGANT FIANC AND I ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND BEFORE STARTING THE TRUCK THE PASSENGER SIDE (AHR) HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT PROVOCATION. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT TO CAUSE IT TO DEPLOY AND DURING THE INCIDENT IT STRUCK HER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. WHEN THIS HAPPENED SHE NEARLY HAD A PANIC ATTACK HAVING BEEN STARTLED. THE BROKEN PIECES FROM THE HEADREST FLEW OUT AND LANDED IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. HAD SOMEBODY OR MY CHILD BEEN IN THE REAR SEAT THEY WOULD'VE BEEN SHOWERED WITH PIECES AS THE HEADREST EXPLODED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS 600 MILES OVER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE IT REALLY BOGGLES ME WHY I AM LIABLE TO PAY FOR DAMAGES. THIS ISN'T A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR DEAL WITH THE VEHICLE, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. NOW THAT THE HEADREST HAS EXPLODED SHE IS EVEN MORE IN DANGER RIDING IN THE SEAT, THE HEADREST BEING APART CAUSES HER TO ADJUST HOW SHE SITS IN THE VEHICLE INCLUDING HOW SHE HOLDS HER HEAD. IF THERE IS A REAR-END COLLISION MY FEAR IS THE MALFUNCTIONED PIECE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT WILL CAUSE MORE DAMAGE THAN HELP. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE CUSTOMERS RIDING WITH MALFUNCTIONING HEAD RESTRAINTS.
While using cruise control and traveling at a speed of approximately 70 miles per hour on the highway, my car accelerated on its own and ai had I had to hit the brakes. I was thankfully able to slow it down, to which the entire car shuts down. The vehicle completely shut off and would not start. I had to have it towed to Jeep and they told me it was not one, but BOTH fuel pumps had failed. They charged me over $1700.00. There is currently a recall for this very issue and Jeep made no attempt to fix it. I had no idea there was even a recall for this until now and this happened a few years ago.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORMANDIN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (LOCATED AT 900 CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTO MALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136, TEL: 408-266-9500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECO-MODE FEATURE, WHICH WAS DEFAULTED ON, CAUSED THE VEHICLE NOT TO BE RESPONSIVE. IF THE ECO-MODE WAS TURNED OFF, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO REMEDY THE ISSUE BUT, ON THIS SPECIFIC VEHICLE, THE SOFTWARE WAS INCOMPATIBLE. THE DEALER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: S-1508000166. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
BACK PANEL OF DUAL PANE MOON ROOF SHATTERS FOR NO REASON
HAD RAPID FAILURE OF ALTERNATOR VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT IS MENTIONED IN NHTSA 14V-634. BASED ON THE FACT THAT MILEAGE SEEMS TO BE LOW FOR AN ALTERNATOR FAILURE (44K) AND SAME ENGINE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES, I QUESTION WHY MY JEEP ISN'T COVERED IN THE RECALL OR IF THE RECALL SHOULD/NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. WE WERE PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. WHEN I SHIFTED THE CAR IN REVERSE, THE LOW VOLTAGE LIGHT CAME ON, THE ALTERNATOR QUIT WORKING AND ENDED UP DESTROYING THE DRIVE BELT. THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR AND I WAS CONCERNED OF POSSIBLE FIRE.
THERE WAS A RECALL NUMBER S27 OR 16V-240 HOWEVER, THERE IS STILL NO SOLUTION TO FIX IT AND THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW TIMES I HAVE PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO OPEN THE DOOR THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACK
ON A CITY STREET, STOPPED CAR, PUT IT IN PARK AND GOT OUT ENGINE RUNNING.I WALKED BEHIND CAR TO A HOUSE TO GET SOMETHING OFF OF THE PORCH. WHEN I TURNED AROUND THE CAR WAS NO LONGER WHERE I PARKED IT. IT WAS IN THE YARD OF THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR AND HAD CRASHED INTO THE NEIGHBORS SHORT WALL AND PATIO SET. THE CAR WAS RESTING ON A CINDER BLOCK. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN REVERSE AND DRIVE IT OUT OF THE YARD. IT DID DAMAGE TO THE WALL AND THE PATIO SET. THE STREET WHERE I PARKED WAS LEVEL, IT WAS NOT ROLLING WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR. I DIDN'T SEE IT UNTIL IT WAS STOPPED. THIS IS PROBABLY THE FORTH TIME MY CAR HAS NOT STAYED IN PARK. ON TIME I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING OUT AND IT STARTED ROLLING BACK, I HOPPED BACK IN AND STOPPED IT. THE OTHER TIMES I CAUGHT IT BEFORE I GOT OUT.
THERE HAVE BEEN MORE RECALLS THAN I CAN COUNT, BUT RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING IT AND THE ALTERNATOR (WHICH WAS RECALLED) WHEN OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND I HAD IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. I'VE HAD ANOTHER RECENT RECALL NOT THE SHIFTER AND MY STEREO RANDOMLY WENT BLACK, ALLOWING NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE SETTINGS OR A/C. THIS CAR IS A LEMON!
I PURCHASED MY USED 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FROM JT'S CHRYSLER & JEEP IN LEXINGTON, SC ON MAY 27TH, 2017. SOMETIME A FEW WEEKS LATER IN JUNE, WE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH OUR RADIO AND TOUCH SCREEN PANEL. IT DID AN AUTOMATIC UPDATE BY ITSELF (SCREEN SAID TO KEEP VEHICLE RUNNING FOR 15 MINS TO COMPLETE) AND NOW IT WILL NOT SAVE ANY PRESETS THAT WE TRY AND SAVE TO IT. THE VOLUME TO THE RADIO WORKS FINE SOME DAYS, OTHER DAYS, WE CANNOT GET THE VOLUME TO WORK ON THE RADIO AT ALL...OR WORSE, SOMETIMES IT WILL LET US TURN THE VOLUME UP SOME AND THEN WE CANNOT GET IT TO TURN BACK DOWN (CAUSING ISSUES WHEN I NEED TO HEAR THINGS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE) UNTIL WE POWER THE IGNITION DOWN. IT HAS AFFECTED THE NAVIGATION AND SPEAKERS TO SOME DEGREE ALREADY AND WE HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT WITH NO RESOLUTION. THEY HAVE TOLD US THEY TRIED A "FLASH UPDATE" BUT IT STILL HAS NOT HELPED. WE CONSTANTLY GET AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING "VEHICLE PHONE NEEDS SERVICE". I DID SOME RESEARCH AFTER OUR LAST SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND REALIZED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE RADIO'S FOR THIS MODEL AND YEAR JEEP FOR THE SAME ISSUES WE ARE HAVING BUT, I DO NOT SEE OUR VIN # LISTED IN THE RECALL. I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SHED SOME LIGHT IF POSSIBLE ON HOW WE CAN GO ABOUT GETTING THIS RESOLVED. THANK YOU!
MY VEHICLE'S ALTERNATOR SUDDENLY STARTED MAKING A HIGH PITCH WHISTLING NOISE, THE RADIO AND OTHER ELECTRONICS WERE NOT WORKING IN THE VEHICLE, SO I STOPPED. A WHITE SMOKE STARTED TO POUR OUT OF THE FRONT GRILL AND THE SMOKE SMELLED LIKE PLASTIC/WIRES BURNING. I OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE AREA WHERE THE ALTERNATOR WAS. AFTER THE SMOKE STOPPED, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND NOTHING WOULD WORK. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP STATED MY BATTERY WAS BURNT UP, THE ALTERNATOR WAS DEAD AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE USABLE LINK BECAUSE THAT ALSO BURNT UP. THEY ALSO SAID THEY PLACED A BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND THEIR BATTERY BURNT UP AS WELL. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 64,000 MILES ON IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. HEADREST IS DESIGNED TO RELEASE/ SPRING FORWARD TO HELP PREVENT NECK INJURIES WHEN VEHICLE IS STRUCK FROM THE REAR. INTERNAL MECHANISM HAS FAILED PLASTIC SUPPORTS WITHIN ARE BROKEN HEADREST CANNOT BE RESET THUS ACTIVE SAFETY FUNCTION CANNOT FUNCTION. HEADREST IS STUCK IN THE FORWARD OR TRIGGERED POSITION. LEE SUMMIT DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (1051 SE OLDHAM PARKWAY, LEE SUMMIT, MISSOURI 64081) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED AN UNKNOWN WIRE IN THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED A SECOND TIME AS NEEDING THE WIRING HARNESS REPLACED UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,300.
THE AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT ON MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. THE DEALER'S SERVICE WRITER IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME THAT 85% OF THE TIME WHEN THE A/C GOES OUT IN THIS VEHICLE IT'S THE EVAPORATOR INSIDE THE CAR BEHIND THE DASH. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION BY THE REPAIR TECHNICIAN THAT'S WHAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED IF THEY REPLACE THE EVAPORATOR WITH THE SAME PART AND HE SAID NO, THEY NOW USE A DIFFERENT SKU REPLACEMENT EVAPORATOR. OBVIOUSLY, JEEP IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS MADE CHANGES TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, IN MY CASE JEEP WON'T PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT SAYING MY VEHICLE WITH 45,000 MILES IS PAST THE WARRANTY PERIOD. IT'S MY POSITION THAT JEEP USED A DEFECTIVE EVAPORATOR IN THE FIRST PLACE AND IT'S ONLY MY BAD LUCK THAT IT DID NOT START LEAKING FREON SOONER. APPARENTLY THE EVAPORATOR IS NOT *THAT* EXPENSIVE BUT IT IS LOCATED IN A DIFFICULT LOCATION TO GET TO, BEHIND THE DASHBOARD, AND THAT MAKES IT AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR ($1,680). I BELIEVE JEEP/CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AT A MINIMUM, AND FAILING THAT, A RECALL SHOULD BE PUT INTO EFFECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DALLAS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (11550 LYNDON B JOHNSON FWY, DALLAS, TX 75238) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND BURNED THE WIRE THAT WENT TO THE BATTERY, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE ALTERNATOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS AND LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY.
ALTERNATOR SEIZED ON THE CAR AFTER ONLY 33,000 APPROX. THE VEHICLE IS JUST OUTSIDE OF THE 36 MONTH WARRANTY. JEEP WILL NOT FIX AND SAYS IT DOES NOT FALL UNDER RECALL P60/ NHTSA 14 -634 EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUES DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL ARE EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. I CALLED THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND FCA AND NEITHER ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH ME OR DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I'M TOLD PER MY VIN NUMBER THAT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE FAULTY ALTERNATOR YET IT HAS THE EXACT PROBLEMS OF THE RECALLED ONE FROM THE SAME YEAR. ISSUE DESCRIPTION- I WAS DRIVING FROM NASHVILLE TN TO NAPERVILLE IL AND APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS FROM NAPERVILLE I STOPPED FOR GAS AND A BREAK AND UPON STARTING THE CAR THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO NAPERVILLE IL AND UPON EXITING THE HIGHWAY THE CAR STARTED LOSING POWER. IT SOUNDED LIKE A VACUUM CLEANER AND NOT LIKE A NORMAL ENGINE. I KEEP DRIVING AND PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT. AS I PULLED IN I LOST ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, INCLUDING THE BRAKES. THE CAR WOULD NOT START. UPON TAKING IT TO MY MECHANIC, THEN TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP IT WAS DETERMINED THE ALTERNATOR SEIZED AND DAMAGED THE BATTERY AND BELT. THEY REFUSE TO CORRECT IT AND I'M NOW PAYING $680 FOR REPAIRS.
PASSENGER SIDE FRONT ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED ON IT'S OWN, (NO COLLISION, OR IMPACT) WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT, ADULT PASSENGER IS SUFFERING WITH WHIPLASH, AND TERRIFIED TO RIDE IN MY JEEP AGAIN.

THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ROLLED OVER THREE TIMES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE UPPER BODY, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,978.
THE TRANSMISSION HAD A HARD SHIFT. THE VALVE BODY WAS REPLACED AND IT SHIFTED WORSE. NOW THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION IS BEING REPLACED AS I AM TYPING THIS BUT I FEEL THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE ISSUES. HIS IS HE MODEL THAT HAD THE DEFECTIVE GEAR SHIFTER AND RECALL.
SOMETIMES WHEN USING E-SHIFTER, IT DOES NOT MOVE INTO CORRECT GEAR OR MOVES OUT OF THE GEAR UNKNOWINGLY
THURSDAY EVENING MY HUSBAND WAS BACKING OUT OF OUR GARAGE AT OUR HOUSE. WHEN HE GOT TO THE STREET (A RESIDENTIAL ROAD) HE PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND THAT'S WHEN THE DRIVER'S HEADREST DEPLOYED (SEPARATED FROM THE PLASTIC PIECE LIKE AN AIRBAG, HEADREST RESTRAINT ACTIVATION THING) HITTING MY HUSBAND IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD FORCEFULLY. HE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING OR RUN OVER ANYTHING WHILE BACKING OUT. NO OTHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN THE CAR, JUST THAT ONE. HE PULLED BACK INTO THE GARAGE AND TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED. WE GOT ON CHRYSLER'S MOPAR WEBSITE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS REGARDING THAT PART. THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON OUR VEHICLE AND WE WERE UP-TO-DATE WITH ALL THE RECALLS ON OUR VEHICLE. WE CONTACTED CHRYSLER SEVERAL TIMES AND GOT NOWHERE WITH THEM, BUT THE FIRST REPRESENTATIVE WE TALKED TO DID GIVE US A CASE NUMBER. THEY ARE BASICALLY SAYING IT IS OUT OF THEIR HANDS AND IN THE DEALERSHIPS. WE THEN CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED AND SERVICE OUR JEEP. THEY TOLD US TO HAVE IT TOWED THERE AND THEY WILL INSPECT THE PROBLEM. EVEN IF THEY FIX THE PART OR RESET THE AIRBAG THING, I AM STILL SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR TO AND FROM WORK AND TRANSPORT MY CHILD. *TR
DRIVER'S HEADREST AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHEN WE WERE NOT IN THE CAR, AND THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED AND DID A PRIVATE INVESTIGATION WHICH LED THEM TO BELIEVE THAT THE INCIDENT WAS NOT DUE TO MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITY. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED SOME TIME IN EARLY APRIL - WE NOTICED IT AROUND APRIL 14TH. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM 6 TIMES SINCE THEN AND THEY REFUSE TO EXPLAIN WHY THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, OR OFFER ASSISTANCE IN REPAIRING IT.
ISSUE: WHEN I PUT FUEL INTO MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, WHETHER I AM PUMPING OR WHETHER IT IS ON AUTO PUMP, THE FUEL SPITS BACK OUT. EVEN IF YOU TRY HOLDING THE FUEL PUMP LEVER SO THAT ONLY VERY MINIMAL FUEL IS COMING OUT, IT CONTINUOUSLY "STOPS"(LIKE IT SHOULD WHEN THE TANK HAS BECOME FULL) IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE FUEL CANNOT GO DOWN INTO THE VEHICLE, AS THE VEHICLE THINKS AFTER 3 SECONDS OF PUMPING IT IS FULL AND SPITS BACK OUT(USUALLY ALL OVER MY HANDS OR CLOTHES).

CHROME METAL INTERIOR TRIM IS PEELING OFF. THIS IS HAPPENING ON DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE AND CUP HOLDER AREA. AS A RESULT, THE EDGES ARE RAZOR SHARP AND HAVE CUT MY HANDS ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS CAUSING LACERATIONS.

A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING PART NUMBER 68105583AF CRACKS ON 2014 MODELS CAUSING OIL LEAKS. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FIRE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THERE IS A BACK ORDER OF SEVERAL THOUSAND FOR THIS PART.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEARLY 2 YEARS AGO AND IT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM INTERMITTENTLY. AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK, THE RADIO/PHONE/NAVIGATION PANEL WILL NOT START WHEN THE CAR DOES. SO I HAVE NO HEAT OR AIR CONDITIONING, NO BACK UP CAMERA, NO RADIO, NO HANDSFREE PHONE. THIS SITUATION USUALLY LASTS ABOUT 5 MINUTES BUT EVENTUALLY WILL START. I HAVE NOT BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE ABOUT IT SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. BUT THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME. I AM A REALTOR AND I'VE PUT 70K MILES ON MY CAR IN THE PAST YEAR. I AM IN IT ALL THE TIME AND I NEED THESE FEATURES TO WORK. I BOUGHT THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE USED AND I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, EXCEPT THIS. PLEASE DO A RECALL ON THIS FEATURE.
