THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.

THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V493000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
I KEEP HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COLUMN. I HAVE FIXED THIS SAME PROBLEM 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. THE LAST TIME I FIXED THE PART SEEMS TO HAVE CHANGED AND THE PART WAS HIGHER THE LAST TIME. THE PART CHANGED SUPPOSEDLY TO BE BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS PART BUT IT SEEMS TO GO OUT EVERY YEAR. *TR

THE INSURANCE COMPANY COVERED THE DEALER REPLACING THE IGNITION SWITCH, WIRING, INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE FUNCTION, REPROGRAMMED THE MASTER KEY, ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL REPAIRS. MONTHS LATER, THE SERVICE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LAMP FLASHED AND THEN REMAINED LIT. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE WHILE TRAVELING OVER 40 MPH EACH TIME THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER. THE CONTACT ALSO CHECKED WITH A SECOND DEALER WHO ALSO INDICATED THAT THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE WHILE WAITING FOR THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

WHEN PUMPING GAS AND IT SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY GAS SPEWS OUT LIKE A VOLCANO FROM THE GAS TANK. IT'S SO BAD THAT THE GAS ATTENDANT HAS HAD TO COME OVER AND PUT ABSORBENT MATERIAL ON TOP OF THE GAS SPILL AND WE'VE HAD TO WASH DOWN OUR CAR SO IT WON'T EAT THE PAINT. I CONTACTED JEEP WHO TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, BUT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH OTHER JEEP MODELS AND THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL ON THOSE MODELS. IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY NEED TO EXPAND THEIR RECALL TO INCLUDE THE 2007 JEEP LIBERTY'S THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU. *TR

JEEP DEALER SAID THEY HAVE NO PARTS AND NO FIX AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME! WHEN AND IF THIS PART ON BACK ORDER COMES IN IT IS GOING TO COST AN ESTIMATED $400.00 TO FIX. 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REAR STRUCTURE REINFORCEMENT RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE MATTER IN A REASONABLE TIME. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *JB
RIGHT FRONT OF 2007 JEEP LIBERTY FELL TO THE GROUND JUST AFTER MOVING FORWARD IN A PARKING LOT. WHEEL BENT OUT AND ALL FLUIDS RELEASED TO THE GROUND. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED A FEW MINUTES LATER WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN PUSHED, SO MOST LIKELY AT THAT SPEED IT WOULD HAVE FLIPPED OVER CARRYING A MOTHER AND CHILD. JEEP HAD RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM THROUGH 2005. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS EXACT ISSUE ON THE 2007. JEEP REFUSED TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY. THE MANAGER STATED THAT IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. PARTS NEEDED FOR REPAIR: CONTROL ARM, BALL JOINT AND WHEEL WHICH WAS CRACKED WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. 1231.00. JEEP NEEDS TO STEP UP AND COVER/REIMBURSE FOR SAFETY ISSUES THAT ARE KNOWN ISSUES ON THEIR VEHICLES. NO GOOD FAITH FOR SAFETY FROM JEEP. RECALL THESE PARTS BEFORE PEOPLE GET KILLED. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL UP FOR GAS, THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF IS TRIGGERED TOO LATE AND A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GAS SPILLS OUT OF THE CAR, SOAKING THE SIDE OF THE CAR, THE PUMP HANDLE, THE GROUND AROUND IT, AND ANYONE STANDING NEXT TO THE TANK. THIS CREATES A SIGNIFICANT RISK OF FIRE, AND IS ALSO HARMFUL FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. THERE WAS NO ATTEMPT TO TOP OFF THE TANK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND REAR WINDOWS FAILED TO GO UP OR DOWN WHILE USING THE WINDOW SWITCHES. ALSO, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AND REAR WINDOWS MOVED VERY SLOWLY WHEN THE WINDOW SWITCH WAS ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO OPEN WITHOUT THE WINDOW SWITCH BEING DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TPMS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED EVEN THOUGH THE TIRE WAS INFLATED TO THE MANUFACTURER'S VEHICLE SPECIFICATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE AUTO GASOLINE SHUTOFF FAILED TO WORK AND GAS SPILLED ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND GROUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT. OUR CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY WORKS FINE AT THE SAME GAS STATION. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO THE BLOWER MOTOR. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE BLOWER MOTOR ON MY JEEP BECAUSE THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. THE FIRST TIME WAS TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AFTER MY PURCHASE IN 2014. BUT IT HAS GONE OUT AGAIN. THIS TIME THE BLOWER MOTOR HAD GOTTEN SO HOT THAT IT MELTED THE WIRE CASING OF THE WIRES. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THE COMPANY SAID THAT SINCE IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY IT'S NOT THERE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT SOMEONE SHOULD LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM WITH THE BLOWER MOTORS. I HAD ALSO CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON TRAILER HITCH. WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM I ASKED ABOUT THE BLOWER MOTOR. THEY SAID THAT THERE WASN'T A RECALL ON IT. BUT THE PERSON I SPOKE TO HAD SAID HE HAS THE SAME VEHICLE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIM AND THAT HE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL BLOWER MOTOR AND CHRYSLER SHOULD TAKE IT SERIOUSLY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED BECAUSE IT STARTS A FIRE. I WAS JUST LUCKY ENOUGH THAT MINE DIDN'T CATCH FIRE. *TR

CHRYSLER JEEP SAFETY RECALL NOTIFICATION THE FUEL TANK ON YOUR VEHICLE HAS A SMALL CHANCE OF EXPERIENCING A FUEL LEAK DURING CERTAIN TYPES OF REAR END COLLISIONS. *MW THE CONSUMER STATED IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE SHE RECEIVED THE RECALL, AND THE PARTS WERE STILL NT AVAILABLE. I WAS DRIVING TO MY DAD'S FOR THANKSGIVING, AND ON THE PA TURNPIKE MY JEEP SUDDENLY DROPPED FROM 60MPH TO 20MPH AND UNDER THE HOOD LOOKED LIKE SMOKE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND POPPED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE WHOLE DRIVER'S SIDE NEAR THE BATTERY WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911 BUT BECAUSE I WAS ON THE TURNPIKE THEY CAME FIRST. I HAD LEFT MY HOOD UP AND BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING THE FIRE WENT OUT. THE TURNPIKE OFFICIAL CANCELLED THE FIRE TRUCK AND WE WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK. THE JEEP WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST GARAGE TO MY HOUSE BUT THEY HAVE HAD IT OVER 2 WEEKS AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THEY MIGHT NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I SAW A SIMILAR PROBLEM ON A JEEP CHAT ROOM AND THIS GUYS JEEP WAS TOTALED BECAUSE HE HAD TO WAIT FOR THE FIRETRUCK AND THEY HAD TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,753.

JEEP HAS BEEN EXCEEDINGLY SLOW TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON THE MANDATED RECALL OF MY VEHICLE--I WAITED WELL OVER A YEAR FOR THE FIRST NOTICE, ANOTHER 6 MONTHS FOR THE NOTICE TO CONTACT MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER TO HAVE A HITCH INSTALLED TO PREVENT EXPLOSION DURING REAR-END COLLISION,OR HAVE MY AFTER-MARKET HITCH INSPECTED FOR MEETING THIS REQUIREMENT.I TRIED FOR 2 MONTHS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL BUT WAS DELAYED REPEATEDLY.I ONLY GOT THE RECALL INSPECTION PERFORMED DURING THE COURSE OF HAVING OTHER PAID REPAIR WORK DONE.MY AFTER MARKET HITCH PASSED INSPECTION,SO NO OEM HITCH WAS INSTALLED. I MAILED IN THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT FOR THE AFTER-MARKET HITCH TO JEEP AS INSTRUCTED ON THE RECALL POSTCARD FOR REIMBURSEMENT BUT RECEIVED A PHONE CALL TODAY STATING THAT JEEP WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR THE AFTERMARKET HITCH BECAUSE IT IS NOT AN OEM PART. I THEN REQUESTED TO HAVE AN OEM HITCH PUT ON IN PLACE OF THE ONE I PREVIOUSLY HAD INSTALLED BUT THEY REFUSE. THIS RECALL PROCESS HAS BEEN MISHANDLED BY JEEP ALL AROUND, START TO FINISH, AND NEEDS TO BE BETTER MONITORED BY NTSB OR OTHER APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPELLING AUTOMAKERS' COMPLIANCE WITH RECALLS. IF I HAD KNOWN JEEP WOULD APPROVE MY AFTER MARKET HITCH FOR RECALL PURPOSES BUT NOT REIMBURSE ME, I WOULD HAVE REMOVED MY AFTERMARKET HITCH TO SELL AND REQUIRED JEEP TO INSTALL AN OEM HITCH AT THEIR EXPENSE. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO SAY THAT JEEP'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RECALL IS MET BY THE HITCH I PAID TO INSTALL, BUT THEN REFUSE TO REIMBURSE ME, WHEN I COULD HAVE REQUIRED THEM TO INSTALL AN OEM HITCH AT THEIR EXPENSE HAD I REMOVED MY HITCH PRIOR TO INSPECTION. JEEP/CHRYSLER IS GETTING AWAY WITH SOMETHING THEY SHOULD NOT. IF A HITCH SATISFIES RECALL REQUIREMENTS AND WAS PAID FOR BY THE CAR OWNER, THEN IT SHOULD QUALIFY FOR REIMBURSEMENT. LAST MONTH I RECEIVED A LETTER TO CONTACT THE DEALER.I DID THIS , THEN I FIND OUT THIS PART IS BACKORDERED. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER I HAVE NO ANSWER. NOW I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH YOU . IN A PRESS RELEASE CHRYSLER SAID FEW PEOPLE ARE COMING IN AND THE PART IS AVAILABLE. MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WAS PARKED OVER NIGHT AND WHEN I STARTED TO DRIVE AWAY I FELT THE CAR RESISTING. AFTER AN INSPECTION I REALIZED THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS TIPPED INWARD .HAD A WRECKER TAKE IT TO MY AUTO DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS. HAD TO REPLACE THESE AND HAVE AN ALIGNMENT. I ONLY HAVE 52658 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I AM THE ONLY OWNER AND HAVE MAINTAINED IT VERY WELL. I DO NOT DO OFF ROAD DRIVING . THE ONLY THING IS THAT IT IS EXPOSED TO A LOT OF SALT. I FEEL THE RECALL ON THE REAR SUSPENSION #91164 SHOULD ALSO COVER THE FRONT. HAD I BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.I HAVE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO DAIMLER CHRYSLER. *TR

AFTER THE WORK IS DONE I TRY TO FIND OUT THE RATING CLASS OF THE HITCH, BUT NO ONE KNOWS. I CALL CHRYSLER RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AND I AM TOLD THAT IT IS A FRAME REINFORCEMENT AND NOT A TRAILER HITCH. IT CAN NOT BE USED FOR TOWING ANYTHING. ALTHOUGH IT HAS THE LOOK OF A TRAILER HITCH. I MANAGE AN EMISSIONS TESTING BUSINESS A WOMAN CAME IN WITH A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY FOR A SMOG CHECK. DURING THE ASM TEST, WHERE I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR ON THE DYNAMOMETER, IT HOPS OFF THE DYNO, GOING THROUGH THE PRECAUTIONS I TAKE FOR A REAR-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE(PLACING A SHOCK IN FRONT OF THE FRONT WHEELS), AND CRASHES INTO THE WALL, DAMAGING MYSELF AND $5,000 WORTH OF EQUIPMENT. MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL CONCERNING THE POTENTIAL FOR FIRE IN CERTAIN REAR END COLLISIONS. I WAS NOTIFIED OVER A YEAR AGO (APPROXIMATELY NOVEMBER 2013) BY MAIL AND WAS INFORMED I WOULD BE CONTACTED AGAIN WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. APPROXIMATELY MAY 21, 2014 AT 7:32 AM, I CALLED THE NUMBER ON THE RECALL TO FIND OUT WHY THERE HAD BEEN NO FURTHER CONTACT. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED NOM LATER THAN AUGUST 2014. ON SEPT 10, 2014, I CALLED THE NUMBER AGAIN ON THE ORIGINAL RECALL AND WAS FINALLY CONNECTED TO A DEALER. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 9/12/14 AT 2:00PM AS I WAS TOLD THE SERVICE DEPT. WAS WIDE OPEN.
