GLASS LIFT PLATE& MOTOR HAVE BOTH GIVEN OUT AT LEAST TWICE IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. IT COSTS OVER $200 TO HAVE THE DEALER FIX IT. THE WINDOW JUST FALLS FOR NO REASON. COME ON WE NEED A BREAK. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE WORLD BUT WHEN I HAVE TO PAY TO FIX SOMETHING AND IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE I EXPECT QUALITY. *TR

ALL 4 OF MY WINDOWS HAVE FALLEN IN TO THE DOOR. EACH HAPPENED AT A DIFFERENT TIME. TWO WHILE I WAS DRIVING 75MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND COULD NOT PULL OVER. THE COST TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE WINDOW MOTOR IS $450 EACH! APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR. I HAVE SEEN THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE. I HAVE TEMPORARILY HELD THE WINDOWS UP WITH ZIP TIES. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS. NONE OF MY WINDOWS ROLL DOWN NOW! I HAVE BEEN IN A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT (IN A DIFFERENT VEHICLE) WHERE IT WAS NECESSARY FOR ME AND THE PASSENGER TO CRAWL OUT OF THE WINDOW TO EXIT THE CAR. A CLOUDY, SMOKE RESIDUE EMITTED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH BURNED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED PAIN TO THE SHOULDERS, LEFT ANKLE, AND ARM. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK PAINS. BOTH OCCUPANTS RECEIVED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,260.
RE:RECALL N46 HAVE TALKED TO JEEP NUMEROUS TIMES. THE FIX APPEARS TO BE INSTALLING A TRAILER HITCH, WHICH JEEP INDICATES THEY HAVE TO MAKE MANUFACTURE. I TALKED TO SEVERAL JEEP DEALERS IN MY AREA, THEY ALL HAVE SAID THEY CAN HAVE ME TO THE PARTS IN 1 DAY. UNLESS THE TRAILER HITCH IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT, IT APPEARS IT SHOULD NOT TAKE OVER A YEAR TO GET THIS SAFETY ISSUE FIXED. IF THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AT THE JEEP DEALERS CAN GET THE PARTS IN 1 DAY WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH GETTING THE RECALL FIXED. *TR
SAME GAS PROBLEM IT OVERFLOWS TANK WHEN FILLING IT. ABS LIGHT, ESP BAS, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND BRAKES GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AT TIMES. WINDOW REGULATORS KEEP GOING OUT MAKING MY VEHICLE UNSAFE FOR ME TO PUT MY CHILD IN. AS A SINGLE PARENT I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR COSTLY REPAIRS (MAINLY THE WINDOWS) TO PREVENT MY CHILD FROM GETTING SICK IN WISCONSIN WINTER. WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED ON THREE SEPARATE WINDOWS STARTING IN 2010, AND ONE IN 2013 AND NOW 2014. DEALERSHIP SAID ONLY LIFT PLATE HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY, NOT THE REGULATOR. YET MY DEALERSHIP (TWO SINCE 2010) TOLD ME IT'S THE REGULATOR. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE 4TH ONE GOES OUT. I'M SICK OF PAYING FOR THIS WHEN TWO OF THE WINDOWS THAT BROKE I HAVE NEVER ROLLED DOWN EXCEPT TO CLEAN. AND ONE REGULATOR BROKE WHILE THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLEANING IT. IF IT BREAKS UPON CLEANING, THAT IS A BIG ISSUE AND I WANT IT COVERED AND REIMBURSED FOR MY COSTS.. *TR

I OWN A STOCK 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WITH THE 3.7L V6 AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHILE DRIVING HOME THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY ON A BUSY FIVE LANE 50 MPH ROAD. AS I COASTED INTO A DRIVEWAY I SAW HEAVY DARK BLACK SMOKE POURING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AS I OPENED THE HOOD THERE WAS 5-6 INCH FLAMES ON MOST OF THE STOCK WIRING UNDER THE HOOD. THE POSITIVE CABLE THAT RUNS UNDER THE ENGINE RUBBED UNDER THE ENGINE UNTIL IT SHORTED ON THE GROUNDED ENGINE BLOCK SHORTING OUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SHOWED UP AND PUT OUT THE FIRE AND CUT THE NEGATIVE CABLE TO STOP THE OUTBREAK OF ANOTHER FIRE. ALL OF THE CABLES ARE NOW MELTED AND BURNED TOGETHER. THE REPAIR ESTIMATE IS CLOSE TO $5000 WITHOUT FIXING WHAT ACTUALLY CAUSED THE PROBLEM, JUST FIXING THE MELTED WIRES. THE FIRE WAS STARTED BY STOCK WIRES ON A STOCK VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARKWAY BEFORE WE BOUGHT IT AND WENT THROUGH COMPLETELY "FIXING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG OR BAD WITH THE VEHICLE." THEY CLEARLY MISSED THIS MAJOR PROBLEM THAT COULD HAVE KILLED TWO TEENAGERS. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS NOT THEIR FAULT. I BELIEVE IT IS, AND I WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT DOES KILL SOMEONE. I AM OPEN TO PHONE CALLS, I AM OPEN TO EMAILS ANYONE YOU WANT TO CONTACT ME WOULD BE PERFECT. WINDOWS FALL INTO DOOR WHILE DRIVING. VEH IS OVER 7 YRS. THEREFORE JEEP WILL NOT OVER THE COST TO REPLACE FAULTY PART.
I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FOR MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY (N46 / NHTSA 13V-252). ON 2/19/14 I TOOK THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS PUT ON A WAITING LIST TO HAVE THE REPAIR MADE. I HAVE SINCE RECEIVED A SECOND NOTICE, BUT THERE IS STILL NO ACTION FROM MY DEALERSHIP. I CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AND WAS GIVEN A LECTURE ON SUPPLY AND DEMAND INSTEAD OF BEING GIVEN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO EXPECT THE REPAIR. I MAY BE RELOCATING SOON, WHICH MEANS I WILL HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THEIR WAITING LIST. *TR

WHEN PLACING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION NO CRANK, NO START, WIRING HARNESS AND CENTRAL SENDING UNIT REPLACED, AND RETURNED TO ME 2/28/2014 A FRIDAY AFTERNOON UPON RECEIPT OR SUV FROM DEALERSHIP REPAIR RETURNED HOME WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATE IE ESP AND ANTISKID IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE CAR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEY AND WILL NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO SHIFT FROM PARK CARE RETURNED TO FOR REPAIR 03/03/2014 APPARENTLY SOME TYPE OF RELAY AND SENSORS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED AND "SMOKED" PER THE DEALER IN THE DASH AND STEERING COLUMN. *TR
WENT OUT TO START VEHICLE IN THE MORNING FOR WORK. MADE LOUD BANGING/RATTLING NOISE. IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF ENGINE AND TOOK TO MECHANIC. THE ROCKER ARM HAD COME LOOSE. FIXED FOR $100.00. LESS THAN 1 WEEK LATER, THE HEAD GASKET BLEW, CYLINDERS HEAD ARE WARPED AND NEED REPAIR AND NOW IT WILL COST ME $2000. THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO ENGINE ISSUES PRIOR TO THESE TWO INCIDENTS, NO OVERHEATING. *TR

IN 2010 I PURCHASED A USED 2007 JEEP LIBERTY FROM A DEALERSHIP. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF THE PURCHASE THE MECHANISM INSIDE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR BROKE CAUSING THE WINDOW TO DROP INTO THE DOOR RENDERING IT UNUSABLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPAIRED THE MECHANISM FOR FREE. IN 2012 THE SAME MECHANISM IN THE SAME DOOR BROKE AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE BUT WAS FORCED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF AS JEEP HAS NOT YET RECALLED THE MECHANISM. YESTERDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2013 THE MECHANISM BROKE AGAIN THIS TIME IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN BUT HAVE NOT YET SCHEDULED A TIME TO FIX THE UNIT. I DO NOT FEEL AS IF I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AS IT IS AN ON-GOING ISSUE AND OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. *TR
