THREE YEARS AGO, I HAD THE SKY SLIDER ON THE JEEP REPLACED COMPLETELY. ON TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2016, I OPENED THE SLIDER UP AND IT WOULD NOT CLOSE. I TOOK IT TO BACK TO THE BUSINESS THAT REPLACED THE SKY SLIDER IN 2013, PAYMER & PHILLIPS, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL 2008 JEEP LIBERTY SKY SLIDERS. THEY SHOWED ME THE PLASTIC PIECE WHICH WAS BROKEN WHICH IS THE REASON WHY THE SKY SLIDER WHICH IS A CONVERTIBLE TOP, WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE FIRST TIME, THE REPAIRS COST $3362.81. TODAY I WAS TOLD THE REPAIR COST WOULD BE $2768. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT CHRYSLER AND REPORT THIS INCIDENT AND ASK THEM TO ABSORB THE COST. I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM A CASE MANAGER AS OF TODAY.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY SKYLINE SUNROOF FLEW BACK
I OWN A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY AND EVERY TIME I FILL IT THE FUEL COMES BA K AT ME NOT JUST A LITTLE EITHER IT GEISERS OUT OF THE TANK AND HAVE GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE I HAVE TO STAND UP WIND NOT TO BE SHOWERED IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I BOUGHT IT
SEVERAL YEARS AGO THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY FUEL TANK FOR GAS OVER SPILLING WHILE FUELING THE CAR. THAT WAS REPLACED BUT NOW I CAN'T FILL MY TANK COMPLETELY BECAUSE WHEN I DO THE INSIDE OF MY CAR SMELLS OF GAS FUMES FROM THE TANK UP TO THE FRONT SEAT. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR STALING AT A STOP OR THE IGNITION HAVING TROUBLE CATCHING WHEN I CRANK THE CAR.
THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON ONLINE FORUMS ON THE JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED EDITION WITH THE SKY SLIDER. BASICALLY, THERE ARE REPORTS ON THE SKY SLIDER COMING OFF THE TRACK AND FLYING OFF OF THE VEHICLE. MY SKY SLIDER PERSONALLY WILL NOT CLOSE BECAUSE OF A "SYSTEM FAULT" JEEP TELLS ME AND ONLY SOME JEEP DEALERSHIPS HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO FIX A SKY SLIDER. THEY WANT TO CHARGE $3K TO FIX THE ROOF, BUT THEY ARE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT IT IS A CONSISTENT ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE, THAT THE SKY SLIDER WILL NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY, WHICH RESULTS IN IT COMING OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS.
THE SKYSLIDER ROOF FAILS TO CLOSE. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE BUYING IT NEW IN 2008. THE SKYSLIDER WAS REPLACED IN JUNE OF 2013 AFTER FAILING TO CLOSE AND MAKING DRIVING UNSAFE DUE TO THE FLAPPING OF THE CLOTH ROOF AT 45 MPH OR HIGHER. ROOF HAS BROKEN AGAIN AS OF MAY 2016 WITH THE SAME ISSUE AFTER ONLY BEING OPENED 5 TIMES. THIS TYPE OF ROOF IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. AT ANY TIME THE CABLES OR PLASTIC FRAME CAN SNAP CAUSING THE ROOF TO PEEL BACK. I WAS AFRAID THE ROOF WAS GOING TO COMPLETELY DIS-ATTACH AND HIT THE CAR BEHIND ME.

I WAS ON MY WAY BACK TO WORK DURING MY LUNCH HOUR DRIVING ON ALEXANDER ST. IN CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS. THAT STREET HAS SEVERAL DIPS. AS I DROVE OVER ONE OF THE DIPS THE JEEP SUDDENLY ACCELERATED IN SUCH A SPEED THAT I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT AND IT HIT A PARKED CAR. MY CAR WAS APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET FROM THE PARKED CAR WHICH MADE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THE ACCIDENT WAS A RESULT OF "SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION" THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO EXPLAIN THIS UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT. WITH ALL THE DIPS ON THAT STREET IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEED, ADDITIONALLY IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF A SCHOOL WHICH HAS A SPEED LIMIT OF NO MORE THAN 15 MPH. IF THIS HAD OCCURRED IN A DIFFERENT AREA THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC, FATALLY INJURING MYSELF AND FAMILY OR ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. IT STARTED WITH MY POWER DOOR LOCKS 2 YEARS AGO. THEY QUIT WORKING BUT THE POWER WINDOWS WORKED FINE. WHEN YOU TRIED TO CHANGE THE FUSE IT WOULD POP AND BURN OUT RIGHT AWAY. WE ASSUMED IT WAS A SHORT SOMEWHERE. THEN MY REAR OUTLET QUIT WORKING, MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID STOPPED WORKING, AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF AMONG OTHER ISSUES. NOW NOTHING WORKS. THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED SO WE COULD TRY TO RESET THE SYSTEMS AND NOW THE HORN SIRENS CONTINUOUSLY, LIGHT FLASH, WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND FLUID ARE FLYING, DOOR LOCKS THAT WOULD NOT WORK ARE MOVING UP AND DOWN. IT LOOKS LIKE MY JEEP LIBERTY IS POSSESSED! WHY IS THIS NOT RECALLED???? THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE READ THAT IT MAY START WORKING AGAIN BUT IT WILL MALFUNCTION... YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN.
AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING WHILE DRIVING. JEEP SHAKES AS IF UNSTABLE OR STRUTS THE SUSPENSION AND MY VISIBILITY DUE TO THE DEFROSTER AND WIPERS DON'T WORK PROPERLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, PARTS OF THE SKYSLIDER ROOF BECAME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND FLAPPED IN THE WIND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRACKETS AND CABLES WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
THE SOFT TOP ON THIS JEEP COMES OFF WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IF YOU LOOK ON LINE SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
DRIVING ON CITY STREET WHEN HORN BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY BEEPING AND WIPERS AND WASHERS FRONT AND BACK ACTIVATED. PULLED OFF TO SIDE OF ROAD, REMOVED KEY, ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN, ALONG WITH HORN, WIPERS, WASHERS AND LOCKS CONTINUED TO INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVATE. LASTED 15 MINUTES AND THIS IS THE 5TH TIME HAPPENING. AFTER CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME CAR FUNCTIONS NORMALLY. ONE INSTANCE OCCURRED AT NIGHT AND LIGHTS TURNED OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SKY SLIDER SUN ROOF DETACHED AND FELL OFF TRACK, WHICH CAUSED THE SUN ROOF TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF WAS UNABLE TO BE CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE REAR SLIDER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,900.
SKY SLIDER ROOF POURS WATER INTO DASH AND STEERING COMPONENT. POWER STEERING HAS BE DISABLED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. WHEN WATER POURS IN IT SATURATES BOTH DRIVER AND DASHBOARD AREA RUNNING DOWN STEERING COLUMN INTO THE COMPONENTS. IN ADDITION, THE LIFT OF THE ROOF CAUSES VEHICLE TO SWERVE WHEN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. NOISE CREATED BY THIS DEFECT PREVENTS DRIVER FROM HEARING EMERGENCY VEHICLES.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF MY 08 LIBERTY. I HAVE BEEN USING THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALL MAINTENANCE. I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY SKYSLIDER ROOF IN THE PAST WHICH, AFTER 5 YEARS OF HAGGLING, HAS BEEN FIXED. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVEING NOW IS WITH A DYING BATTERY. REPLACED THE BATTERY ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE BATTERY WAS STILL GOOD. NEW BATTERY DOESN'T LAST OVERNIGHT. FOUND THAT THERE COULD BE 3 ISSUES CAUSING IT. RADIO, FUEL PUMP OR TIPM. CD PLAYER BEGAN TO CONSTANTLY EJECT A CD WHEN NO CD WAS PRESENT, SO I PULLED THE RADIO FUSE TO STOP THE DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. NO GOOD! NEXT DAY, DEAD BATTERY. LISTENED TO ANY SOUND THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS RUNNING WHILE ENGINE WAS OFF. DID NOT APPEAR TO BE RUNNING. CHECKED WITH THE JEEP FORUM, WOW WAS I SHOCKED! LIBERTYS HAVE NOTHING BUT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM. CHRYSLER/JEEP/FIAT HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT HAVE NOT DONE A RECALL, CAUSING ALL IT'S CUSTOMERS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS T REPAIR A KNOWN ISSUE. CLASS ACTION SUIT ONLY PUSHED THEM TO REPAIR TIPM'S FROM 2010 AND UP VEHICLES LEAVING EVERYONE ELSE HIGH AND DRY. I NOW NEED TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE EVERY NIGHT SO THE CARE STARTS IN THE MORNING. DEALER WILL DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, AT COST AND THEN FIX THE PROBLEM, AT COST, PLUS LABOR. ALL ON A VEHICLE WITH 83,000 MILES. IN THE LAST YEAR, I HAVE REPLACED THE PCM, ECM, 4 O2 SENSORS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. THANKS TO THE GOVERNMENTS EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY OF 8/80,000, THEY WERE COVERED. THE TIPM IS NOT! WHEN ISSUE IS CONFIRMED BY THE DEALER, I'LL BE CALLING DETRIOT!!!!!!!!
REAR CALIPER IS LOCKING UP CAUSING THE BURN TO THAT PAD AND THE ROTOR . VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
FIRST OFF, THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! IT'S ALREADY BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS BEAT AROUND THE BUSH AND WILL NOT REPLACE THE TIPM! THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS TO NOT HAVE A DEVICE TO PROPERLY TEST THE TIPM, AND SAYS ITS OTHER PARTS CAUSING THE ISSUE. MY JEEP'S LIGHTS WON'T WORK CORRECTLY, MY HORN CONSTANTLY BLARES, I'VE SPENT ALMOST A HUNDRED DOLLARS ON WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID BECAUSE THOSE CONSTANTLY SPRAY, AND IT'S BEGINNING TO RUIN PARTS INSIDE OF MY VEHICLE! TODAY THE FUZE BOX WAS SO HOT IT COULD HAVE BEEN ON FIRE! WHY IS THIS NOT RECALLED?! SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE, AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPLACE THE PART IN FEAR OF HAVING THE RECORD OF IT BEING REPLACED! WE HAVE SPOKE TO COOPERATE AS WELL AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. ALL IT TAKES IS THE TIPM FREAKING OUT CAUSING A FIRE, OR HEADLIGHTS TO FAIL AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH. THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY! I LOVE MY JEEP TO DEATH, BUT TO TAKE MY JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP TO "FIX" THIS ISSUE, SPEND OVER 600 DOLLARS TO REPLACE A MELTED CORD AND A BURNED OUT FAN MOTOR FOR AC/HEAT THAT COULD BE CAUSING THESE ISSUES IS A FREAKING JOKE, WHEN THE FAULTY TIPM CAUSED THE WIRE TO MELT!!

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED NO SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE WATER PUMP, BELT, AND THERMOSTAT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS THERE IS A "BURP" THAT PUSHES GAS OUT OF THE PIPE TO THE TANK. IT'S LIKE THE TANK ISN'T VENTING, AND BUILDING PRESSURE WHEN FILLING. THIS HAPPENS ON EVEY FILL-UP. I THOUGHT THE SERVICE STATION SHUT OFF WERE THE PROBLEM, BUT AFTER BEING ON A WEB SITE, THERE ARE ALOT MORE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
THIS IS OUR SECOND PROBLEM SINCE 2010 WHEN WE PURCHASED VEHICLE THAT THE SLIDER SUNROOF HAS COME OFF IT'S TRACKS. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS ABOUT A MONTH AFTER WE PURCHASED IT AND COST 1400.00 TO FIX NOW FOR NO REASON IT JUST POPPED OFF AND BOWS AND TRACK BROKE. RAINED IN HER CAR AND SHORTED OUT ELECTRICAL. THIS IS A PIECE OF CRAP AND WHEN I LOOK AT ALL THE COMPLAINTS IT SHOULD BE SOMETHING THEY ARE LIABLE FOR FIXING BECAUSE NOW ITS GOING TO COST 3500 AND JEEP DEALERS ARE TELLING US THEY DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH IT BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FROM THE BEGINNING. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS THAT JEEP PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR FAULTY PRODUCTS AND THE NHTSA IS NOT MAKING THEM. THEY HAVE QUIT MAKING THIS FOR A REASON. BECAUSE IT WAS FAULTY AND NOT SOMETHING THAT WOULD WORK. NOW VEHICLE OWNERS ARE STUCK WITH NO OPTIONS. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING US! MY DAUGHTER IS IN NURSING SCHOOL AND I'M A SINGLE MOTHER. WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS. JEEP DEALERSHIPS DON'T WANT THESE CARS BACK!
MY HEAT SHIELD CAME LOOSE AND DETACHED AT 110000 MILES WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS OBVIOUSLY RESTING ON MOVING PARTS UNDER MY VEHICLE. IT MADE A KLATTERING RATTLE AS THE VEHICLE SLOWED TO A STOP WHERE I COULD CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM. THE HEAT SHIELD READILY CAME OUT WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS REMOVED TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE PART ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
JEEP STATIONARY IN DRIVEWAY OVERNITE STARTED BURNING ALL WIRING HARNESES UNTIL BATTERY DIED, INTERIOR SATURATED WITH BURNED WIRE SMELL, ELECTRONIC DASHBOARD SAID NO-BUS, TOWED IT TO JEEP-CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE ALL HARNESSES, FUSE RELAYS, MODULES, HARNESS GROUNDED OUT TO METAL BAD FACTORY INSTALLATION, COST 4,400!
WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE, HORN SUDDENLY BLOWS, WIPERS AND WASHERS COME ON, LIGHTS COME ONCAR BUCKS. BROUGHT TO DEALER KEPT FOR 3 DAYS, NO ANSWER. 3 DAYS LATER CAR PARKED HORN BLOWS WIPERS ON, DOORS LOCK. 2 DAYS AFTER CAR PARKED SAME THING. DEALER CAN FIND NO CODES. REPEAT OF SAME INCIDENTS FROM 8/20/14, SAME RESPONSE FROM DEALER.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE SUNROOF LEAK, THE HEAT SHIELD BRACKET RUSTED/BROKE AND CAME LOOSE FROM THE AUTO AND HIT THE DRIVE SHAFT, AND THE AIR CONDITIONER DOES NOT BLOW OUT ON THE CORRECT VENTS, THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF,
I HAD LEFT MY CONVERTIBLE ROOF CRACKED OPEN AS IT WAS HOT WHEN I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE. APPROXIMATELY 6-8 INCHES OPEN. I BEGAN DRIVING HOME AND WAS TRAVELLING AT 45 MPH WHEN I HEARD THE ROOF FLIP OPEN AND WAS FLAPPING IN THE AIR. I QUICKLY REDUCED MY SPEED AND WAS ABLE TO REACH UP AND GRAB THE ROOF TO PULL IT BACK DOWN. I HELD THE ROOF DOWN BY HAND FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DRIVE HOME UNTIL I COULD INSPECT THE EQUIPMENT. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, THE TRACK SLIDER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS BROKEN AND DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE MOTOR WHEN OPENING OR CLOSING THE SKYSLIDER CONVERTIBLE ROOF. ALSO BOTH PINS HOLDING IN THE ROOF TO THE TRACK SLIDERS HAD POPPED OUT OF THEIR MOUNTING BRACKETS. HAD I BEEN DRIVING FASTER THAN 45 MPH I'M SURE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE DAMAGE AS I HAVE READ SIMILAR COMPLAINTS HERE STATING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR, BETWEEN $2,500 AND $3,500. WHAT IF THE ROOF WERE TO FLY OFF COMPLETELY AND HARM MY CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT, OR ANOTHER PERSON DRIVING NEAR ME ON THE ROAD AT THE SAME TIME?
ELECTRICAL PROBLEM- DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 20 MPH AND HORN STARTS GOING OFF, WINDSHIELD WIPERS ( FRONT AND BACK ) STARING MOVING, INTERIOR LIGHTS AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS START FLICKERING. SHUT CAR OFF AND IT DOESN'T STOP UNTIL YOU PULL THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. NOTHING WORKS DURING THIS OUTBURST NO KEYLESS ENTRY NO POWER WINDOWS. CAR KINDA SITS THERE CONFULSING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE SKY SLIDER FAILED TO COMPLETELY CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHEN THE AC COMPRESSOR SEIZED AND BLEW THE BEARINGS OUT. OIL GOT ON BELT WHICH CAUSED IT TO SLIP ON POWER STEERING PULLEY WHICH SLIGHTLY INCREASED STEERING EFFORT. AC COMPRESSOR IS USED TO OPERATE DEFOGGER. SINCE AC COMPRESSOR IS BROKEN, DEFOGGER WILL NOT WORK AND VISIBILITY MAY NOT MEET FEDERAL STANDARDS DEPENDING ON WEATHER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BUTTON THAT OPERATES THE SKY SLIDER ROOF MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE WHEN DEPRESSED. THE ROOF BEGAN TO OPEN AND THEN STOPPED. THE ROOF FAILED TO OPEN ANY FURTHER OR CLOSE FROM THAT POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL REPAIRED AS IT WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE!!. WHAT CHOICE DID I HAVE? I PAID. . . THROUGH THE NOSE FOR SOMETHING THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED HAD I BOUGHT A 2007 MODEL. I WAS GIVEN THIS WEBSITE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT. ADDITIONALLY, HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING (POP UP ON THEIR OWN WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED) AND AUTOMATIC WINDOWS NOT ALWAYS WORKING (HAD TO HAVE HAVE SOME "CYLINDER" FOR THE ELECTRONICS IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR REPLACED.) THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT STILL SHOWS 'ON' BECAUSE A PART THAT'S ON "BACKORDER" IN THE BACK BY WHERE THE GAS IS FILLED IS RUSTED AND NEEDS REPLACING.

I STARTED MY JEEP LIBERTY AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED GOING WHEN THE SWITCH WAS IN THE OFF POSITION. I TURNED ON MY HEADLIGHTS AND THEY STOPPED. WHEN I GOT HOME I TOOK DISCONNECTED THE NEG WIRE ON THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER IN JEEP AND I HOOKED IT BACK UP AFTER 20 MINS AND WHERE THE MILEAGE IS SHOWN IT SAID ERROR.
DRIVING AT 40 WHEN THE HORN, WIPERS, AND LIGHTS START GOING CRAZY. HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR TO GET IT TO STOP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY DIAGNOSED THE TPIM TO BE FAULTY AND IT WOULD COST 1200 TO FIX. COME TO FIND OUT THE TPIM HAS BEEN RECALLED BY CHRYSLE BUT NOT FOR THE 2008 MODELS.
1ST INCIDENT OCCURRED IN MARCH 2013. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN A 25MPH ZONE. SUDDENLY, THE HORN STARTED BEEPING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS (FRONT AND REAR) WERE GOING, WASHER FLUID WAS POURING OUT, POWER DOOR LOCKS WHERE GOING ON AND OFF. HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE WITH THE FLUID SPRAYING OUT AT FULL SPEED. I TURN THE CAR OFF AND REMOVED KEY FROM THE IGNITION AND THIS CONTINUED TO GO ON FOR 5 MINUTES. BROUGHT THE CAR TO MANFREDI DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE TIPM MODULE WHICH WAS VERY COSTLY. A YEAR AND 1/2 LATER ON MAY 18, 2015, I EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. THERE IS DEFINITELY A MAJOR FLAW WITH THIS PART. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS OCCURS ON A HIGHWAY/TURNPIKE DOING THE SPEED LIMIT. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR YET ANOTHER TIPM. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY EXPLAINED IT'S ONLY A 1 YEAR/12 MONTHS GUARANTEE, BUT THIS PART SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 5 YEARS. REALLY???

THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,100.
I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE 08 LIBERTY FOR 3 MONTHS NOW AND I STARTED SEEING LITTLE SPOTS NEAR THE CURTAIN AIRBAGS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE, BUT WHEN IT RAINS A LOT OR I GET MY CAR WASHED THE SPOTS GET BIGGER AND NOW IT'S COMING DOWN FROM THE MAP LIGHT WHICH TO ME IS VERY DANGEROUS AND DISTRACTING WHILE NOT TO MENTION ITS LEAKING ON THE CARS COMPONENTS AS WELL. ON ONE OTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS INDEPENDENTLY POWERED OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED AGAIN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE FOBIK AND THE HORN CONSISTENTLY SOUNDED AND THE HEADLIGHTS FLASHED. THE CONTACT DETACHED AND REATTACHED THE BATTERY CABLE AND THE LIGHTS POWERED OFF AND THE HORN NO LONGER SOUNDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON A MAIN 2 LANE, 2 WAY ROAD AND I NOTICED THAT THE RPMS WERE SUDDENLY DECREASING EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS. SO BATTERY DIES JUST UNDER 3 YERAS LATER (STILL UNDER WARRANTY) ODD.REPLACED FREE YAY, ONLY FREE THING IN THIS WHOLE ENDEAVOR. AFTER REPLACING BATTERY CLOCKSPRING GOES OUT, DAMMITT!!! REPLACED, NOT A WEEK LATER LOCK FUSES KEEP BLOWING. FOUND OUT ALTERNATOR HAS A BUILT IN RELAY THAT IF IT GOES WREAKS ABSOLUTE HORROR ON COMPUTOR, AND ENTIRE ELEC. SYSTEM, IT EVEN CONTROLS THE LIGHT ON YOUR DASHBOARD INDICATING THAT IT HAS GONE OUT,BRILLIANT. HAD I KNOWN THIS IT COULD'VE SAVED MANY HOURS AND CLOSE TO $1,500. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED. *TR
