Engine stalls upon acceleration from a dead stop major safety concern. Mechanic says it’s crankshaft sensor which the 2016 Jeep Patriot recall was for the same issue.
I have purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot from Sunrise car dealer it has been 3 months now I took it back to the dealer they couldn't find anything wrong with it the car cut off in the middle of traffic in the middle of the expressway with a big 18-wheeler behind me scared me to death. I can see why they sold it to me without any warranty. I took it to a car repairment person ran a test on it couldn't find anything wrong with it. No codes were found, we took the car for a ride in the air and the radio didn't cut him off but as soon as I got back in it down the road it cut off again several times before I made it home. Please tell me if I can take the car back and trade it in for another car. Help
I noticed a vibration and it felt like the vehicle was shaking at times. This problem increased at higher speeds. I took it to a dealer for inspection and found out the control arms, tie rods, and ball joints were in critical condition and needed to be replaced. This vehicle has less than 50,000 miles on it.
While driving the car RPM dropped to zero, I pressed the gas pedal, and RPMs went back to normal engine continued to work. The crank shaft sensor was replaced, it drove for another month (approximately) before it began with the same issue. This time I was driving on the highway (twice). The third time I was on a busy street when it happened with complete loss of power and the stability control light came on. This is so dangerous and could possibly cause an accident. After looking into this issue, I have found that this is not a common occurrence and there is even a recall for this exact reason for the 2016 Jeep Patriots. The vehicle was taken to the local Jeep dealership, and they stated there was no way of knowing what the issue is without the check engine light coming on. I find this hard to believe knowing that there are many instances of this happening and a recall on a newer model for the same thing. They replaced the Crank Shaft Sensor (which had already been replaced) and two cam shaft sensors, replaced the catalytic converter that was recalled and the passenger side seat which had deployed. We were charged nearly $800. This is outrageous considering this is a dangerous issue that has been recalled on the 2016 models. Jan 31, 2023, NHTSA reached out to Ms. Eanes for additional information involving issues of the Crankshaft in the 2015 Jeep Patriot.
Two issues- First one the vehicle engine tends to randomly sputter like there is a dead cylinder. Which I have found by adding electric jell to the spark plug connector will make the problem go away for a short time. Second one now in the rear transfer case is marking a grinding noise and is getting louder.
The vehicles rpms drop to zero and then almost stalls out but picks up again and sometimes dies completely and you have to wait to restart the vehicle. No codes are available when it stalls out. It happens almost every day and sometimes multiple times a day
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the check engine warning light was flashing. The contact stated that the engine was overheating. The contact stated that the failure occurred at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to Manufacturer Communications Number: U67 Catalytic Converter replacement (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
I was driving and the headrest on the passanger seat popped opened
My truck goes into a code where the electric throttle control light, the engine light, and the tire traction light comes on. When the vehicle does this it reduces the speed to 35 no matter what or where you are. When you ho get the engine light checked, the code says it's a suction problem . Jeep started doing this in the colder weather than progressed to every other week
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated while she was exiting a parking spot, the vehicle accelerated independently and crashed into a tree. No Air Bags deployed. The contact stated the front passenger had bruises on her chest from the seat belt but did not seek medical attention. No police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to towing shop and now was at an insurance location. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
Throttle conrol sensor redlightning bolt on dash, after jeep seemed to loose power.check engine light. Available upon request. Had to drive home with virtually no exceleration with hazzards on due to unusual dangerous circumstances. Jeep problem not confirmed by dealer. Needs to be towed, for fear of safety. Disheartened, and without a vehicle hoping this can be affordable to fix or fixable at all.
While vehicle was stationary, driver side headrest deployed. Had I been just a few inches closer to the headrest it would have hit me. I will be contacting a Jeep dealership in regards to this but there is currently no active recalls on the Jeep per the NHTSA website.
***VEHCILE WAS PURCHASED JANUARY 2021. LATER FOUND OUT THE 2015 JEEP PATRIOT I PURCHASED HAD 5 PREVIOUS OWNERS...MAKING ME THE 6TH OWNER.*** SEPT 2021 I WAS DRIVING DURING RUSH HOUR ON BUSY LAS VEGAS CITY STREET WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE AND NO WARNING MY 2015 JEEP PATRIOT LOST POWER...3 DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON (LIGHTNING BOLT/CHECK ENGINE LIGHT/TRACTION CONTROL). I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A HOTEL PARKING LOT AFTER CROSSING 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC. ONCE PARKED, I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS TRIED RESTARTING IT AGAIN AND TO NO AVAIL THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MECHANIC SHOP WHERE THEY DETERMINED/DIAGNOSISED THE PROBLEM TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY SO I HAD TO COME OUT OF POCKET ALMOST $1000. ALL THIS DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC. WHEN I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE MECHANIC THEY INFORMED ME THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS STILL ON BECAUSE MY RACK/PINION WAS DAMAGED SO MY ALIGNMENT IS OUT OF WHACK. THEY ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE OFF WITH MY VEHICLE EVEN WHEN THE ALIGNMENT BEING SCREWED UP. WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE HOME, I WAS SO SCARED BECAUSE IT FELT LIKE MY VEHICLE WANTED TO GO IN EVERY DIRECTION AT THE SAME TIME. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BIG O TIRES TO HAVE THEM TEST THE ALIGNMENT. AFTER THEY RE-ALIGNED THE JEEP IT RAN PERFECT. BUT I SPOKE TO SOON...JUST AFTER 1 WEEK, IM NOW STARTING TO EXPERIENCE MORE ISSUES...CAR ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF FROM RED LIGHT, BACK FIRING FROM EITHER THE TAIL PIPE OR UNDER THE HOOD (ALMOST SEEMS LIKE THE ENGINE IS BEING FLOODED OUT WITH TO MUCH GAS), MY GAS MILEAGE HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED!!!
The Air Bag Spring has failed, apparently due to metal fatigue, in my 2015 Jeep Patriot. This renders the horn non-functioning and may also make the air bag not function.
the engine cuts out and stalls as you are driving, this is intermittent but happens often
The vehicle was involved in a major accident. None of the air bags deployed at all. Yet, the air bag that stretched front to back along the roof was completely exposed and simply hanging.
My driver side headrest exploded while the car was stationary. It appears the active head restraint system failed. Jeep dealers refuse to tell me if this is covered by warranty. I have not yet had it inspected, but as the car was stationary, not moving and not colliding it is clearly a manufacturer defect. This is an extremely dangerous defect. There are reports of drivers being concussed while driving, and I mostly only drive to take children to and from school.
The AHR deployed on my passenger side seat while driving down the road hitting my teenaged daughter in the back of the head.
I see there is a recall on other Jeep Patriots for a catalytic convertors. Mine was not included but i have had numerous emission issues. My catalytic convertor and both O2 sensors went and it is not covered. I am wondering why my jeep wasn't included in the recall.
For the past several months we are having trouble with the computer issue with this vehicle. We took it to a repair shop and they confirmed, in fact one of the mechanics had the very same problem, that the computer is malfunctioning. Here is what is happening...the car won't start and as you turn the key it just hesitates and you pray it will start. The A/C won't come on...the clock on the dash does not show the correct time...the "bell" dings when you exit the vehicle even though there is no key in the ignition, the lights have been turned off, etc. It won't stop dinging until you shut the door. Also, the rear window defogger indicator light is flashing like warning you to turn it off. Also, the CD player won't eject a CD. Then come a few days later and none of this happens. It is always a gamble when you get in the Jeep wondering if it will start. I feel, since this has happened to other Jeeps, there should be a recall on this particular situation.
I WAS SITTING STATIONARY LEAVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT WAITING TO TURN RIGHT ONTO A MAIN ROAD FROM A BUSINESS. AS TRAFFIC CLEARED AND I BEGAN TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC NUMEROUS MALFUNCTION LIGHTS SHOWED ON THE DASH, SOME SOLID AND ONE FLASHING, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I LOST ALL THROTTLE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY IDLE OR VERY SLIGHTLY ACCELERATE TO 1-2 MPH. THIS CAUSED OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD TO BRAKE AGGRESSIVELY OR CHANGE LANES TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS ABLE TO IDLE TO THE NEXT ENTRANCE AND PULL THE CAR OVER AND PARK IT. WAS NECESSARY TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR FACILITY AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN INTERNALLY FAILED THROTTLE MOTOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO "LIMP MODE". THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER HAD THE NEW THROTTLE MOTOR IN STOCK INDICATING TO ME THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PARTS FAILURE. THIS SITUATION WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE ENDED UP MUCH WORSE.
MY 2015 JEEP PATRIOT STARTED MAKING WHINING NOISES AND JERKING WHEN IN MOTION, I HAD THE TRANSMISSION AND CONVERTER REPLACED AT 75,000 MILES, NOW I AM AT 95,000, AND IT IS HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN, LOUD WHINING NOISES AND JERKS RANDOMLY WHEN IN MOTION, DOES NOT MATTER THE SPEED OR IF I AM ON A CITY STREET GOING 40 MILES AN HOUR OR HIGHWAY GOING 70 MILES AN HOUR OR EVEN IN A NEIGHBORHOOD GOING 10 MILES AN HOUR, I ALSO HAVE NOTICED THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY, I CURRENTLY HAVE MY CAR IN THE SHOP TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEMS AGAIN.
MY JEEP PATRIOT WILL STALL OUT ON ME UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD THOUSANDS OF WORK DONE ON IT JUST FOR IT TO CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. NO SHOP HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG DUE TO NO CODE SHOWING UP. IT HAS BEEN OVERHEATING ON ME AND HAS BEEN CAUSING ME TO THROW AWAY A LOT OF MONEY. I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS NOTHING HAPPENING AND ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS IS RIDICULOUS!!
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL KEEPS ACTING UP. THE LIGHT FLASHES ON AS IT LOSES POWER THEN IT WILL RUN FINE FOR A LITTLE BIT AND DO IT AGAIN. THERE IS NO CODE. I KEEP GETTING HESITATIONS IN THE JEEP. IT WILL HICCUP ALONG THE HIGHWAY OR AS I TRY TO ACCELERATE. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC TIME WHEN IT HAPPENS. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE WIRE HARNESS REPLACED IN MY JEEP A YEAR AGO.
I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS JUST ABOUT EVERYONE HERE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. I HAVE STALLED TWICE AND ONE OF THOSE TIMES ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I WAS EXITING THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT STALLED. MANY TIMES NOW FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS IT HAS BEEN SLOWING DOWN TO A CRAWL AND REPEATEDLY HESITATING LIKE IT'S CHOKING. THIS HAPPENS PRESENTLY, AT ALMOST EVERY TURN I MAKE AND SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. DEFINITELY SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO AS IT MOST CERTAINLY IS A ROAD SAFETY CONCERN/ISSUE.
MY DRIVER SEAT HEADREST DEPLOYED LIKE AN AIRBAG WITHOUT WARNING OR BY RESULT OF IMPACT. IT JUST SPLIT OPEN AND DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS A SAFETY DEVICE BUT IT IS AN EXPENSIVE JOB FOR SOMETHING THAT SUDDENLY BECOMES DEFECTIVE AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A SAFETY DEVICE THAT FAILED. I WASN'T IN VEHICLE WHEN IT HAPPENED. BUT THE WEEK BEFORE THIS HAPPENED THE JEEP WAS PARKED DUE TO AN EXTREMELY HORRIBLE SNOW STORM AND IT WAS TRAPPED UNDER SNOW FOR OVER A WEEK AND WHERE I LIVE THAT TYPE OF WEATHER HAS NOT HAPPENED BEFORE. AND THE WEEK AFTER IT BECAME HOT SO NOT SURE WEATHER HAD A ROLE IN IT. BUT BECAUSE I HAD BRAIN AND NECK SURGERY THE HEADREST HAS MADE IT UNCOMFORTABLE AND IT IS IMPACTING MY SAFETY AS WELL.
I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY ROAD AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING MY JEEP JUST STALLED. I LOST ALL ENGINE POWER, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OFVTHE ROAD. I PUT CAR IN PARK AND TURNED THE KEY TO OFF POSITION. TRIED TO RESTART AND IT WOULD NOT, BUT CONTINUED TO TRY TO START BY ITSELF. WHICH IN TURN KILLED THE BATTERY. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAPPENED TODAY WHICH IS A SATURDAY AND MAYBE THEY WILL GET TO LOOK AT IT ON MONDAY. THIS REALLY SCARED ME AS I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. THANK GOD MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT WITH ME AS IT WAS ONLY 5 DEGREES AND SNOWING.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IN MOTION IN HER 2015 PATRIOT WHEN SIMULTANEOUSLY THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL ICONS ALL CAME ON. SUDDENLY THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND JERKING SLOWLY BACK AND FORTH. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO A FIRESTONE AND THE SERVICE TECH SAID IT LOOKS LIKE FAILURE TO THE THROTTLE CONTROL. THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED AT CAREFULLY SINCE THE DRIVER LOSES CONTROL WITH NO POWER OF THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. MANY PEOPLE REPORT THIS SAME PROBLEM ON CARPROBLEMZOO.COM
My Jeep Patriot stalls after I fill up the gas tank 1-2 miles after it is filled every time. It does this at random times with no warning, the steering and brakes lock up with no throttle control. It is extremely dangerous as it’s happened in heavy traffic and could turn out worse for others with the same issue.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, WHEN HE HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HIS DESTINATION. THE CONTACT CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER MONROEVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP (3651 WILLIAM PENN HWY, MONROEVILLE, PA 15146, (412) 856-1422) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated while driving at various speeds with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle was shifted to park and turned off. After waiting for several minutes, the vehicle was restarted and regained power; however, the vehicle was sputtering while starting. The check engine warning light illuminated with a red lightning bolt flashing when the failure occurred. The failure reoccurred after being repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the electronic throttle body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred a second time and the vehicle was returned to the mechanic but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000.
DRIVING ALONG AT SPEEDS OF 35 MPH, THE ENGINE RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, LOCKED THE STEERING WHEEL, AND CAME TO A STOP. THIS OCCURRED ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. THE NEXT DAY, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED ON A STATE ROUTE 28. A MANUAL RESTART OF THE VEHICLE WAS REQUIRED EACH TIME, AND THE ISSUE OCCURS DAILY. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS, SPEEDS, TIMES OF DAY, ETC. THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE.
DURING DRIVING, THE CAR STALLS OUT, RPM GOES TO ZERO AND IT FLUCTUATES RANDOMLY EVEN DURING HIGHER SPEEDS ON HIGHWAYS AND STREETS. THIS RISKS AN AUTO ACCIDENT DUE TO LOSING POWER AT SPEEDS OF UP TO 70 MPH.
PURCHASED MY 2015 JEEP PATRIOT ON 10/16/2020. THREE HOURS LATER, AS I WAS DRIVING HOME, I HAD A MAJOR LOSS OF POWER (WENT FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO 10MPH) AND THE DASH LIT UP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL AND "LIGHTNING BOLT" ALL FLASHING OR LIT. I ALSO LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND THE JEEP WOULD ONLY COAST AT 10MPH AND WOULD SHAKE/SHUDDER IF STOPPED.
WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOUSE THE DRIVER HEADREST DEPLOYED. NO COLLISION OCCURRED. THE PLASTIC CLIP HOLDING THE HEADREST IN POSITION BROKE AND THE HEADREST DEPLOYED.
CVT TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIGHTLY SLIP AT AROUND 90,000 MILES AND AT THE TIME I DID NOT KNOW THAT THIS WAS IN FACT THE PROBLEM. AS TIME WENT ON IT BECAME MORE OBVIOUS WHAT IT WAS AND OF COURSE AFTER 100,000 MILES IS WHEN THE WARRANTY WAS GOOD NOLONGER SO LOST OUT ON THAT.
CAR LOSE POWER WILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65MILES P/ HOURFROM 65MILES TO 5MP/H,THIS IS A SAFETY ISUE, SURE BE ADRESS AS A SAFETY RECALL,WE COULD GET HIT FROM BEHIND AT THE FREEWAY,WE FOUND OUT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A FAILURE OF THE THROTLE CONTROL VALVE.
THE ENGINE STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING, DUE TO THE INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE CRANKSHAFT OR CAMSHAFT SENSOR ON THE ENGINE. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVING ON A CITY STREET GOING 45MPH WHEN RANDOMLY CAR ACCELERATION JUST DROPPED DOWN TO ABOUT 25MPH. CAN'T ACCELERATE CAR FEELS LIKE IS BARELY GOT ANY ACCELERATION POWER. ESC AND ETC LIGHTS TURN ON.
I BOUGHT MY 2015 JEEP PATRIOT ON JULY 4, 2020. EVERY SINCE I'VE HAD MY TRUCK, THERE HAS BEEN PROBLEMS. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO 4 MECHANICS AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A PROBLEM. ALSO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I GOT THE TRUCK FROM HAS NOT EVEN TRIED TO CONTACT ME BACK ABOUT THEM FIXING IT FOR ME. I'M STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T WORK AT THIS POINT.
WHILE DRIVING, MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT HEAD REST EXPLODED AND IS NOW UNABLE TO GO BACK TOGETHER.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 50 M.P.H., WHEN THE HEADREST ON THE PASSENGER'S SEAT EXPLODED. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS SEATED IN IT AT THE TIME. I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL JEEP MODELS. I AM NOW CONCERNED, WONDERING WHEN OR IF THE DRIVER'S SIDE MAY DEPLOY WHILE I AM DRIVING.
HEADREST WAS DEPLOYED ON DRIVERS SIDE, NOTICED SMALL PLASTIC PIECE WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY OF THE HEADREST WAS BROKEN. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT RESIDENCE, UPON ENTERING AND SITTING DOWN I REALIZED THAT THE HEADREST WAS NOT SET BACK AND THEN REALIZED THERE WAS AN ISSUE.
THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS REPAIRED IN NOVEMBER OF 2019. IT IS JULY OF 2020, I HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 2500 MILES SINCE THE INITIAL REPAIR AND THE VEHICLE IS PRODUCING THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS IT WAS BEFORE THE REPAIR. IT HESITATES, ALMOST STALLS, AND LUNGES WHILE DRIVING. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE DRIVE BY WIRE WARNING LIGHT ALL FLASH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND RUNNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ASSEMBLY FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL AND FAILED TO ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ALMOST WAS REAR ENDED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TONY DOMIANO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 816 SCRANTON CARBONDALE HWY, ARCHBALD, PA 18403, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ASSEMBLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WAS PROVIDED WITH A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000. *BF *AS
I HAVE A 2015 JEEP PATRIOT WITH 65,000 MILES ON IT. OVER THE LAST 2 WEEKS, THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED TO CUT OFF OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE DRIVING. THE RPM DROPS TO ZERO AND THEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. NO ERROR CODES SHOW UP. NOTHING. IT STARTS BACK UP, USUALLY WITH NO ISSUE BUT THEN DOES IT AGAIN SHORTLY AFTER. IT HAPPENS VERY SPORADICALLY AND SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. IT HAPPENS WHILE GOING SLOW, GOING FAST, WHILE ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING. I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD AND WE LIVE ON BACK ROADS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT THERE ARE THIS MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE AND THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL.
THE HEADREST DEPLOYED ON IT'S OWN WHILE DRIVING. I WAS TOLD BU MY WIFE TO TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED AND THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE METAL BAR THAT LOCKS HEADREST IN PLACE WAS BROKEN. THE METAL SHAFT IS STILL LOCKED IN PLACE . PLEASE SEE PICTURES. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL A JEEP DEALERSHIP. I NOTIFIED BAY DODGE JEEP CHRYSLER IN PANAMA CITY AND HAVE THEM CHECK FOR ANY RECALLS. THEY TOLD ME NO AND I GET WITH SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO GET A NEW ONE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR DEFECT.
THE POWER STEERING HOSE CLAMP MAY NOT BE INSTALLLED CORRECTLY DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS THE LOW PRESSURE POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE MAY DETACH AND CAUSE A LARGE VOLUME POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK
VEHICLE STALLED AND LURCHED UPON ACCERALING FROM A TRAFFIC RED LIGHT. THE ELECTRIC THROTTLE LIGHT APPEARED ON DASHBOARD. PURCHASED WITH LOAN FOUR DAYS AGO. INITIALLY SAME THING OCCURRED WITH HIGH RPM AS WELL. NO WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AT FIRST. FIFTH DAY OF DRIVING THIS REVEALED THE WARNING LIGHT ON DASHBOARD. DEALER INDICATED RECALL FIXED PRIOR TO SALE. VEHICLE WARNING LIGHT STILL APPEARS. RPMS TOO HIGH ON ACCELERATION. REPAIR SHOP INDICATED THE RECALL DID NOT FIX ISSUE AND NEEDS TO HAVE JEEP DEALER CHECK IT.
WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF, THE STEERING LOCKED AND I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKILY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENED WHEN TURNING THE KEY. ALSO NO HORN, NO LIGHTS ... NOTHING. A SIMILAR THING HAPPENED 2 YEARS AGO AND THE JEEP DEALER STATED IT WAS A COMPUTER ISSUE.
