My 2020 Jeep Renegade has been burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles or so. Im sure many people do not check it as consistently as i do. Burning oil im sure is hard on the spark plugs, catalitic converters, and the emissions.
Vehicle has an oil leak due to a faulty vacuum pump and gasket which is causing the vehicle to leak an excessive amount throughout the engine and other components. It was seen by a repair shop and they pinpointed the leak. This could cause an engine to stall while driving if not fixed soon which could potentially involve being in a accident to cause injury and or even death. The leak first appeared in August 2025 and can not be driven until fixed. This issue is also happening to my husbands vehicle which is the same as mine.
Engine stalled in much the same way as numerous other owners are describing on this forum. It happened on the freeway at 70mph in cruise control. Engine instantly killed, NO check engine light, dealership ran codes and found no errors. Very dangerous. Can Stellantis please diagnose this and get a recall. I don't trust this car and stopped driving it.
While driving, my radiator cooling fan malfunctioned and a piece broke off. The fan now does not work properly to cool my radiator and the car shakes when I turn on the ac or when I’m at idle.
Vehicle constantly overheats and the cooling fans go out. I work for a company that has 30 Jeep Renegades ranging from year 2020 to 2023. They all have this issue. Leaking coolant, AC going out, cooling fan needing replacement, not starting, stalling, overheating, etc. I can give all VIN numbers if necessary.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was dark smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall and shut off after being shifted into drive. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the compression in the engine was low, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 80,000.
THE PCV WILL ONLY WORK IN ONE DIRECTION ON THE CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT INTAKE!
CAMSHAFT PCV-(PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE) DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY=(IN WRONG DIRECTION). ASKING FOR A RECALL. CAN CAUSE ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF LOW IDLE AND IMPROPER VACUM IN BRAKES CAUSING THEM TO FAIL.
THE PCV-(PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE) WORKS LIKE A DIAPHRAGM BREATHING IN AND OUT, WHICH THEN BLOCKS LIQUID FROM ENTERING THE AIR INTAKE AND MANIFOLD.
ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, TRAVELING AROUND 45-60 MPH, THE ENGINE WENT INTO WHAT WAS DESCRIBED AS "LIMP MODE" AND THE SPEED DECREASED TO 20 MPH WITH THE TACH READING ~6500 AND WAS NOT ABLE TO ATTAIN AND MAINTAIN SAFE TRAVELING SPEEDS. THE FIRST THREE OCCASIONS WERE ON A RURAL ROAD, TWICE IN A SLIGHT CURVE AND ONCE IN A STRAIGHT AWAY. IT FELT LIKE THE CAR HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED AND THEN WAS NOT ABLE TO ACHIEVE HIGHWAY SPEEDS (WHICH I TURN RIGHT ONTO FROM MY ROAD). THE FOURTH OCCASION WAS AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACE AND WHILE GETTING UP TO SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE REGISTERED THE CAR AS BEING IN SECOND GEAR, WHILE IT WAS PHYSICALLY IN DRIVE AND WAS UNABLE TO GET ABOVE 45 MPH WHILE REVVING ~7000. IT SHOULD ALSO BE STATED THAT THE LOANER VEHICLE ALSO A 2020 JEEP RENEGADE HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT RESULTING IN "LIMP IN" AND HAVING TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 JEEP RENEGADE. THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART. THE CHECK OIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A FEW DAYS AFTER, WHILE TURNING RIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH INTO THE GAS STATION THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AGAIN CAUSING THE VEHICLE THEN TO ROLL BACKWARDS INTO AN ONCOMING TRAFFIC CAUSING THE VEHICLE'S REAR END TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE 0 INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CONTACT'S HOME TO THE DEALER (JOEY ACCARDI CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM 909 S FEDERAL HWY, POMPANO BEACH, FL 33062; (954) 943-6700) WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,300.
