The frame of this vehicle has deteriorated to the point of becoming a safety hazard. The frame has rusted through over 50% of the thickness (internally) and has broken through to the outside in several areas around where the suspension and transmission attach. I recognize that this is an older vehicle, but it has larger percentage of rust than other vehicles I have owned and I do not believe it should be this deteriorated. I believe there must have been a manufacturing defect in the design (water/dirt) can get trapped in the frame or the material used was of insufficient corrosion resistance. Component Malfunction: Frame Structural Integrity Safety Risk: Drivetrain/Suspension could detach from vehicle causing safety risk to occupant of vehicle or nearby pedestrians/vehicles/structures. Inspected by dealership: Dealership did not mention it, probably because this is a 'known' issue that they don't have a fix for. (Frame replacement is expensive) Inspected by police: Indiana does not require inspections. (No) Warning Lamps: No. Symptoms appeared in 2020, seem to have accelerated over the last two years/5000 miles.
HELLO, I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A LEAKING DOOR SEAL ON MY 2006 WRANGLER. THE SEAL HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES, BUT CONTINUES TO LEAK. WHEN IT RAINS, WATER COLLECTS ON THE FLOOR CREATING A WET AND SLIPPERY CONDITION THAT MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, AS THE HEEL SLIPS WHILE OPERATING THE PEDALS. FURTHERMORE, THE WATER LEAK CAUSES A MOLD CONDITION THAT IS HARMFUL TO HEALTH. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU CAN DO. THANK YOU.

WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, IT SPILLS. PRESSURE IN THE TANK AND/OR FILLER HOSE BUILDS UP AND CAUSES THE FUEL TO SPRAY OUT, PRIOR TO THE TANK REACHING A FILLED CONDITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED FROM THE FIRST FILL-UP TO PRESENT...OVER A PERIOD OF 4 YEARS...AND CONTINUES. SEEMS TO BE A POOR DESIGN OF ANGLE OF THE TANK FULLER HOSE. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON NEW FROM A DEALERSHIP. AFTER FEW YEARS I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH FUEL SPITTING OUT OF THE GAS FILLER WHEN FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION. ABOUT 1/4 TO 1/2 CUP AT A TIME. DOESN'T MATTER WHICH STAION OR WHICH PUMP I USE. THE PUMP I USE WOULD CLICK OFF,BUT ALWAYS A SECOND TOO LATE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM IN THAT NOT ONLY IS IT DAMAGING MY PAINT AND WHEEL WELL FLARES BUT ALSO SPILLING GAS ON THE GROUND CREATING AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD AS DEFINED AND REGULATED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, AS WELL AS SPLASHING ONTO THE PERSON FILLING THE JEEP COVERING THEM IN FLAMMABLE CHEMICALS AND EXPOSING THEM TO LONG-TERM HEALTH ISSUES THROUGH INHALATION AND SKIN ABSORPTION AS ADDRESSED BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH. NOT TO MENTION WITH THE FUEL SPILLING OUT LIKE THAT, IT ALSO CREATES A LOT OF FUEL VAPORS. WITH JUS A STATIC SPARK, IT COULD VERY WELL INGNITE THE FUEL. I CONSIDER THAT A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE THE HOOD, BOTH SAFETY LATCHES FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE HOOD LATCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THERE ARE NO CRASH TEST RATINGS FOR THE REAR OCCUPANTS IN JEEP WRANGLERS. PASSENGERS ARE EXTREMELY VULNERABLE IN THE BACK SEAT SINCE THERE IS NO PROTECTION EXCEPT THE ROLL BAR BUT IF THEY ARE REAR-ENDED, THE OTHER CAR COULD SIMPLY HIT THE BACK SEAT DIRECTLY. THERE IS NO NECK PROTECTION AS THE SEAT IS TOO SHORT. WHEN CHILDREN RIDE BACK THERE, THEY ARE BASICALLY UNPROTECTED. THIS SITUATION NEEDS TO BE ADVERTISED SO PEOPLE DON'T ASSUME IT IS SAFE TO HAVE PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN IN THE BACK OF JEEP WRANGLERS. THE BACK SEAT IS ONLY DESIGNED FOR CARGO, NOT PEOPLE! THAT'S WHY THEY DON'T HAVE DATA ON REAR OCCUPANT CRASH TEST RATINGS, BECAUSE THEY WOULD FAIL. *TR
MY 2006 "TRAIL RATED" JEEP WRANGLER SE SUFFERS FROM CHEAP QUALITY, PAPER-THIN, SHEET METAL FRONT FENDERS THAT BEND FROM ROCKS THROWN FROM THE WORTHLESS GOODYEAR WRANGLER STREET-TREADED, PEBBLE THROWING TIRES!! CHEAP QUALITY!! MY JEEP HAS 8,400 EASY DRIVEN MILES, BUT NOW HAS DENTED FENDERS WITH CRACKED PAINT FINISH AND PAINT FLAKING!! I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A TOYOTA INSTEAD OF A "TRAIL RATED" JEEP THAT ISN'T "GRAVEL ROAD RATED"! *JB
