ABS UNIT FAILED. YELLOW DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. RED BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN PUSHED TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR. FRONT WHEEL BRAKES BECAME COMPLETELY INOPERATIVE AS VERIFIED BY JACKING UP THE FRONT WHEELS AND TESTING. REAR BRAKES STILL OPERATED, BUT MINIMALLY. SUSPECT THE ABS UNIT FAILS BY STICKING IN A FAULTY BYPASS STATE THAT DISABLES MOST OF THE BRAKING CAPACITY, INSTEAD OF A FAIL-SAFE FAULT MODE.
THE VEHICLE JUMPS OUT OF GEAR OFTEN WHEN BEGINNING ACCELERATION WHILE IN FIRST GEAR AND SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING WHILE IN THIRD GEAR. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT. IT COULD HAVE PARTICULARLY DEADLY CONSEQUENCES WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP AND PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC (OF COURSE WHEN GIVEN PLENTY OF TIME AND SPACE AND YIELDING OF RIGHT OF WAY TO OTHER VEHICLES), IF IT WERE TO LEAVE YOU STOPPED ALL OF A SUDDEN AFTER POPPING OUT OF GEAR. IT'S UNBELIEVABLE THAT JEEP AND DEALERSHIPS DENY THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A DECADE NOW WITH NO OFFICIAL FIX OR RECALL. WE'VE "LEARNED" TO DRIVE IT WITH THIS DYSFUNCTION, BUT THIS SHOULD BE LEADING TO WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUITS IF IT EVER CAUSED SUCH.
VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND PUT ITSELF INTO LIMP MODE UPON DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF A 3 WEEK PERIOD. OBD-II THREW CODES PERTAINING TO FAILING SENSORS IN EGR, CAMSHAFT AND ACCELERATION PEDAL. READ MANY ONLINE FORUMS ABOUT OTHER WITH JEEP AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING FAULTY TIPM UNITS. MY CAR WILL NOW NOT RUN WITHOUT SOUNDING LIKE IT'S BEING STARVED OF FUEL. I FEAR THE BAD TIPM MAY HAVE ALSO CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO GO BAD. CHRYSLER WAS LESS THAN HELPING IN SUGGESTING I BRING THE VEHICLE IN AND WAS TOLD MY WARRANTY (IF I EVEN HAD ONE STILL VALID) COULD BE VOIDED FOR BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A SHOP MY FRIEND OWNS FOR THE REPAIRS INSTEAD OF A DEALERSHIP. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED IT TWO YEARS AGO. I'M IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN NON ROUTINE REPAIRS AND OWE TOO MUCH ON IT TO WALK AWAY FROM IT. IT'S MY DAILY DRIVER AND HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK OR AROUND.
THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY MY CAR DIED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD RAN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE THE LIGHT WAS ON. I FILLED UP WITH THE GAS CAN AND THE JEEP DID NOT START. I TRIED TO JUMP IT USING CABLES AND IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER. I WENT TO AUTOZONE AND BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY, THE JEEP STARTED AFTER THAT. YESTERDAY I GOT AN OIL CHANGE, THEY CHECKED MY BATTERY AND SHOWED ME THE OIL AFTER THE CHANGE, SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOLDEN. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME WHEN MY BATTERY LIGHT POPPED ON AGAIN, I KIND OF SHOOK IT OFF CONSIDERING I JUST REPLACED IT. WELL MY CAR JERKED ME FORWARD, EVERY SINGLE LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGH WAY AS MUCH AS I COULD AND MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I GOT IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THAT THE ISSUE WAS MY "TIPM" AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO GET IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. AS I GOOGLED WHAT THAT WAS REGARDING MY YEAR MAKE AND MODEL I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ABOUT 7 YEARS AGO FOR MY JEEP SPECIFICALLY.
I HAVE BROUGHT AND CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT THE PART THEY NEED TO REPAIR THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING IN MY JEEP. THEY CONTINUALLY TELL ME THAT FIAT-CHRYSLER HAS NOT RELEASED THE PART. THIS RECALL HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS NOW AND THEY HAVE NOT REPAIRED IT YET ! THIS IS MY SECOND REQUEST FOR HELP THE SRS SYSTEM LIGHT STARTS TO FLASH AT TIMES.
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. RECENTLY IT HAS STARTED TO OCCASIONALLY AND VIOLENTLY POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR. THE ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS FROM A STANDSTILL INTO A ROLLING START SUCH AS AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE AS I COULD EASILY BE REAR ENDED IN BUSY TRAFFIC. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IN THE DIFFERENT WRANGLER FORUMS, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THERE IS A DETAILED TSB REGARDING THIS REPAIR. I KNOW STARTING IN 2008, THE JEEPS CAME WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE POWERTRAIN. I'M INQUIRING TODAY AS TO WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR THOSE OF US WITH THE '07. IT'S THE SAME MOTOR, SAME TRANSMISSION AS THE 08-2010 MODELS. I ONLY HAVE 124K MILES ON IT, AND HAVE OWNED THE JEEP FOR 10 YEARS. THE TSB RELATED INVOLVES REPLACING FIRST GEAR, AND THE 1/2 SYNCHROS. I HAVE ALREADY REACHED OUT TO JEEP/FCA AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO JUST SEEK REPAIR. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT JEEP/CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM/ COMMON DEFECT IN ENGINEERING, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE MODEL YEAR JK AFTER '07 CAME WITH THE LIFETIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND HEAD LIGHTS FLICKERED. THE CONTACT SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND SAW FIRE SHORTLY AFTER. THE CONTACT STATED HE PULLED OFF NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FROM THE BATTERY AND THE FIRE TURNED OFF ON IT'S OWN. A POLICE WAS NOT FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE HE WAS TOLD THE TIPM/FUSE BOX SHORTED OUT AND MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
EVERY TIME I FILL THE JEEP WITH GAS, ABOUT A CUP OF FUEL SPILLS BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK BEFORE THE PUMP SHUTS OFF.
SUSPENSION FAILURE: I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY STEERING COLUMN SINCE HAVING BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE. ABOUT A WEEK AGO MY GEAR BOX FELL OUT OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE STEERING COLUMN SHAKING VIOLENTLY SINCE HAVING IT REPAIRED. THIS SHAKING WAS ALSO A PROBLEM FOR ME ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO.
MY O2 SENSORS (ALL 4) AND MY ECU CONTINUED TO COME UP FAULTY. I TOOK MY JEEP TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIR MAN TOLD MY THAT MY LEFT AND RIGHT MANIFOLDS WERE CRACKED AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. ALSO HAD A BOLT THAT HAD BROKEN OFF ONE OF THE MANIFOLDS.
AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON FOR 2-3 SECONDS AND TURN OFF FOR 5 SECOND TO 1 MINUTES AND COME BACK ON. NOW LIGHT IS PERMANENTLY ON. THIS COULD BE RELATED TO THE TAKATA RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED.
REAR BRAKE CALIPERS STICKING. REPLACED JANUARY 2018. AGAIN 6 MONTHS LATER AND AGAIN 6 MONTHS AFTER THAT. THE LAST REPLACEMENT LASTED 2 WEEKS AND REAR RIGHT HAS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN.
ON 2/22/19 THIS VEHICLE WAS TOTALED IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IMPACTED ANOTHER CAR, IT'S FRONT TO THE OTHER VEHICLE'S REAR... ON THE HIGHWAY, FLIPPED 4 TIMES, AND IMPACTED A TELEPHONE POLE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THIS VEHICLE HAD AN AIRBAG RECALL, AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ALLEGEDLY CORRECTED WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. *DT PICTURES ATTACHED*JB
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK MAKES CLICKING NOISE, WILL ONLY UNLOCK/LOCK WHEN DONE ON INSIDE MANUALLY OR ON THE OUTSIDE BY KEY. DOOR SWITCH AND KEY FOB BOTH DO NOT UNLOCK/LOCK DOOR WHEN PARKED. THE DOOR DOES NOT AUTO-LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
MY JEEP IS EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE". IT ALMOST TURNED OVER ON I-85 OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 55MPH AND THERE WAS A SMALL DIP IN THE ROAD. THE JEEP BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. SHE COULD HARDLY CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE JEEP. WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH (ALMOST REAR ENDED TWICE) AND PULL OVER. THIS IS NOT ISOLATED. WE HAD THE JEEP IN FOR REPAIRS BEFORE AND EVERYTHING LISTED FOR REPAIR OF THE DEATH WOBBLE REPLACED. IT IS DOING IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU NEED TO RECALL THESE JEEPS AND MAKE CHRYSLER FIX THEM BEFORE SOMEONE LIKE MY 23 YEAR OLD DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!1
FACTORY CAR RADIO GOES ON AND OFF FOR NO REASON. WHEN IT GOES OFF THE UNIT SEEMS TO HAVE NO POWER TO IT AND IT COMES BACK ON AT RANDOM TIMES. YOU CAN GO WEEKS WITHOUT THE RADIO AND IT WILL COME BACK ON FOR A DAY OR SO FOR NO REASON.
I PURCHASED THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER USED WITH 77, 000 MILES ON IT. I NOW HAVE 84500. EVERY SINGLE TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS, ONCE A WEEK, IT OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE END SPILLING ON THE FENDER, DRIVER SIDE AND GROUND. I HAVE LEARNED NEVER TO STAND NEAR IT. SINCE GETTING SOAKED A FEW TIMES.
FUEL SPILLS OUT OF FUEL TANKL FILLING PORT AFTER FUEL DISPENSING EQUIPMENT AUTOMATICALLY STOPS. FUEL DISPENSING PUMP SAFETY FEATHERS INCOMPATIBLE WITH JEEP GAS TANK FUEL FILLING DESIGN.THIS PRESENTS DANGEROUS CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN WITH EVERY FUEL FILL UP REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION RAN OR EQUIPMENT. IT'S ALMOST AS IF FUEL VILUME GREATLY INCREASES AFTER GAS DISPENSER STOPS FUELING. MY JEEP HAS THE "DEATH WOBBLE"- I'VE SPENT OVER $1000 TRYING TO FIX IT. WHEN GOING OVER 50 ON A HIGHWAY, A SLOW SHAKE QUICKLY TURNS INTO A VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE JEEP BACK AND FORTH UNTIL I'M ALMOST STOPPED (5PMPH-ISH) ON THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED THE OTHER DAY, AND AM PETRIFIED TO BRING IT ON THE HIGHWAY NOW.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHUT OFF. DROVE IT INTO THE CARPORT TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP RUNNING, EVEN WITH THE KEY TURNED OFF AND REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION... ALL GAUGES WERE RANDOMLY TURNING ON AND OFF, AND THE HORN WAS INTERMITTENTLY BLARING. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME.
PURCHASED VEHICLE FROM DEALERSHIP TIM SHORT ACURA SO. CHARLESTON WV TOOK IT BACK 2 DAYS LATER 150 MILES OVER IT SHAKING REAL BAD DRIVING IT. THEY TOLD ME THEY WAS ORDERING PARTS TO FIX IT BUT NOW WANTS 2000.00 TO REPAIR IT REFUSING TO FIX IT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND IT WAS INSPECTED AT STATE OF WV INSPECTION STATION 300 MILES BEFORE I PURCHASED IT WHAT DO I DO ON THE SAFETY AND INSPECTION PART OF HAVING MY VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE
GASOLINE OVERFILLS/OVERFLOWS WHEN FILLING THE TANK.
NO MATTER HOW LONG THE JEEP RUNS I ONLY HAVE HEAT ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. I HAVE VERIFIED THAT MY BLEND DOORS ARE WORKING. LIVING IN COLORADO THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE, MY WINDSHIELD DOES NOT DEFROST COMPLETELY.
DROVE UP TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED THE JEEP (AFTER DRIVING 8-10 MILES). WENT INSIDE THE HOUSE. WITHIN 10 MINUTES WENT BACK OUTSIDE AND SMOKE WAS BOILING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND IT WAS DRIPPING FIRE ON THE GROUND. FULLY INVOLVED VERY QUICKLY.
DURING REFUELING, WHEN TANK IS FULL FUEL OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE FILLER AS THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. EVERY TIME AT EVERY GAS STATION. VERY DANGEROUS, GAS ON THE SIDE OF JEEP AND ON THE GROUND.
ALL 5 STUDS SHEERED OFF FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE
ENGINE DIES AT HIGHWAY SPEED . ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH LIGHT UP. AFTER PULLING OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, WONT START FOR 5-10 MINUTES. VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS 3 TIMES IN LAST 6 WEEKS. CANNOT DIAGNOSE BECAUSE NO CODES ARE RECORDED.
TIPM ELECTRICAL ISSUE. CAUSING INOPERABLE TURN SIGNALS,PARKING LIGHTS, HORN, POWER WINDOW ON DRIVERS SIDE, AND SOMETIMES, DOEST START OF TURN OVER. AUTO REPAIR SHOP SAYS IT NEEDS A TIPM REPLACEMENT
NO TURN SIGNALS, NO PARKING LIGHTS, NO HORN, DOORS DO NOT UNLOCK/ LOCK, CRANKS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE STARTING OR DOES NOT START, HAZARD INDICATORS TURN ON WITHOUT PROMPTING. THESE ISSUES MAKE FOR EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DRIVING. DEALER SAID I NEED A TIPM REPLACEMENT. THERE WAS A COMPLETED RECALL ON THE SOFTWARE FOR THE TIPM, BUT NOW THE ENTIRE COMPONENT IS FAULTY AND THE REPAIRS ARE OVER $1000.00
2007 JEEP WRANGLER. I HAVE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE HOOD FLUTTER. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IF THERE IS ANY WIND. BASED ON EVENTS IN THIS POST ON WRANGHLERFORUMS. THERE IS A PROBLEM WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, WHEN THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF, FUEL SPILLS OUT ON MY VEHICLE AND THE GROUND, ITS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS
GASOLINE SPLILLOVER WHEN FILLING VEHICLE AT ALL GAS STATIONS/PUMPS. VEHICLE TURNED OFF. PUMP SET TO FILL OR MANUALLY HELD, THE ISSUE OCCURS. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE DECEMBER 2017 THOUGH PUTTING CURRENT DATE/LAST FILL UP BELOW.
WAS INVOLVED IN COLLISION AT 35-45 MPH WHERE DRIVER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY TO DRIVER. THIS VEHICLE WAS I'M FORWARD MOTION ON A RURAL STREET. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICES OF AIRBAG DRIVER SIDE RECALLS
WHEN FILLING THE PARKED, SHUT-OFF VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE THERE IS REGULAR SPILLOVER. REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION AND PUMP, THE PUMP DOES NOT DETECT FILL AND AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. THIS HAS BEEN A FREQUENT ISSUE FOR ABOUT A YEAR.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MERGE LANE COMING OFF OF NORTHBOUND HIGHWAY 65 IN SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI ENTERING ONTO JAMES RIVER FREEWAY ON 2/19/2018 WHEN MY JEEP STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND THEN DROVE VERY SLOWLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE TO PARK AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. I HAD TO TOW JEEP. I WOULD DESCRIBE THIS AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" THAT SEEMS TO BE A NOT SO UNCOMMON ISSUE WITH JEEPS. I HAVE HIGH MILEAGE, BUT REPLACED ENGINE DUE TO ANOTHER JEEP ISSUE, SO APPROXIMATELY 70000 MILES ON NEW ENGINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED RIVERHEAD DODGE AT (631) 727-1040 (LOCATED AT 642 W MAIN ST, RIVERHEAD, NY 11901) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
FUEL SPIT BACK PROBLEM, EVERYTIME I FUEL UP GAS PUKES OUT AND DOESNT CUT OFF WHEN ITS FULL
WHEN EVER I FILL UP THE FUEL TANK IT OVER FLOWS OR SPITS UP GAS, AFTER THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF
MY JEEP WITH 86K MILES ENGINE BLEW. ONE WEEK EARLIER WHEN DRIVING OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR IT SEEMED TO WOBBLE A BIT FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON. I HAVE ONLY OWNED IT FOR A MONTH AND IT IS A 2ND VEHICLE AND I WAS NOT SURE IF THAT WAS NORMAL OR NOT. THEN AFTER NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR 4 DAYS I MOVED IT OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS LESS THEN A BLOCK FROM MY HOME WHEN THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND HALF A BLOCK LATER THE ENGINE CUT OUT. THE CAR WOULDNT START AGAIN AND I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT. THEY TOLD ME THE INTERNAL FUEL PUMP SEEMED TO MALFUNCTION AND THE ENGINE WAS BLOWN! WHEN I RETURNED HOME I NOTICED A POOL OF OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS CAR SAT FOR DAYS AND WAS BARELY DRIVEN BY ME SINCE MY PURCHASE. HOW DOES AN ENGINE AT 86K MILES JUST BLOW? HOW DOES OIL JUST DUMP OUT OF A VEHICLE? WHY? WELL DOING INTERNET RESEARCH IT APPEARS THAT THIS 2007 ENGINE YEAR THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THE ENGINES WHERE PISTONS WERE PUT IN UPSIDE DOWN? THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS AND MANY 2007 JEEPS HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN. I AM LUCKY IT HAPPENED ON A LOCAL ROAD, IF I WAS DRIVING 65 IN MIDDLE LANE OF A HIGHWAY AND MY ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF I WOULD BE DEAD. I COULDNT STEER IT. IT JUST STOPPED..... I HAVE TRIED CALLING CHRYSLER AND HAVE BEEN TRANSFERED MANY TIMES TO OTHER PEOPLE, I AM AT A LOSS OF WHAT TO DO. AGAIN, I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE 1.5 MONTHS...

MY CAR STARTED ACTING UP. NEIGHBORS WOULD COME REGULARLY RING MY HOUSE BELL TO LET ME KNOW THAT THE JEEP'S HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. THE JEEP WAS PARKED IN THE STREET. THE PROBLEM: IT WOULDN'T STAY LOCKED. IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK WHENEVER. WE ONLY HAVE STREET PARKING AT HOME AND IT WAS VERY STRESSFUL TO LEAVE THE CAR OPEN AT NIGHT IN THE STREET OR EVEN WHEN GOING PLACES. ALSO THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED GETTING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD OR SOMETIMES STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENED AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY! FINALLY, THE RIGHT BLINKER WOULDN'T WORK AND THAT PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RELATED TO THE BROKEN LOCKING/UNLOCKING SYSTEM. AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH TO TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS 5 TIMES (EACH TIME THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED BUT IT WASN'T), AFTER REPLACING THE TIPM AND ALL THE WIPER MOTOR PARTS AND REPROGRAMMING EVERYTHING PROPERLY, IT IS NOW A FUNCTIONAL CAR AGAIN! IT WAS A BIG BILL AND ON TOP OF THAT I HAD TO SPEND MONEY ON LYFT AND WAS VERY HANDICAPPED WITHOUT A CAR!
EVERY TIME I FILL TANK, IT OVERFLOWS. I HAVE TO STAND BY IT AND LISTEN TO HEAR WHEN GETTING CLOSE TO FULL, SO I CAN MANUALLY STOP IT OR IT GUSHES ALL OVER EVERY TIME. FED UP, ITS DANGEROUS WITH GAS ALL OVER THE JEEP AND GROUND. MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, MANY DIFFERENT STATES, ALL THE SAME.

JEEP WILL NOT START INTERMITTENTLY, WHEN TURNING THE KEY OVER THE JEEP WILL CLICK ONCE AND THE STARTER WILL NOT TURN OVER. SOMETIMES YOU CAN TRY AGIN RIGHT AWAY AND IT'LL START. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO WIGGLE THE GEAR SHIFTER, AND SOMETIMES IT TAKES AWHILE TO GET IT TO TURN OVER AND START. I WAS TOLD IT IS EITHER AN IGNITION PROBLEM OR A NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH, BUT GEARED TOWARDS THE LATTER. IT DOES IT WHETHER PARKED ON A HILL, FLAT, WARM OR COLD. ACCORDING TO MANY JEEP PAGES AND FORUMS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM
ON MONDAY OCTOBER 16, 2017 I STARTED MY JEEP TO LEAVE FOR WORK. AS I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE AT MY APARTMENT AND FELT THE BRAKE PEDAL GO TO THE FLOOR. I ALMOST HIT A NEARBY CAR BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR INTO AN OPPOSITE PARKING SPACE AND THE CURB HELPED ME STOP THE CAR. I HAD BEEN DRIVING THE CAR THE DAY BEFORE WITHOUT ANY INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A NEARBY REPAIR CENTER. THE MECHANIC CALLED ME TO EXPLAIN THAT THE BRAKE CABLE HAD CORRODED AND THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND OLDER JEEP THAT HE HAD SEEN WITH THIS PROBLEM. HE SUGGESTED THAT I NOTIFY YOU TO REPORT THIS ISSUE. I'M COUNTING MY BLESSINGS THAT THIS HAPPENED IN MY PARKING LOT AND NOT A FEW MINUTES LATER WHEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH. THE TOTAL COST OF MY REPAIR WAS $446 BECAUSE THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS BEEN REDESIGNED ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC. IT IS MY HOPE THAT ENOUGH OF THESE PROBLEMS WILL BE REPORTED AND THAT JEEP WILL CONDUCT A SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND UNCONTROLLABLE OSCILLATION OCCURRED IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND WHEELS. THE OSCILLATION OCCURRS WHEN GOING AROUND A TURN AND WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT. THE SHAKING IS SO BAD THE VEHICLE IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. EACH TIME I HAD TO APPLY THE BREAKS TRY AND AVOID TRAFFIC AND PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
TAKADA RECALL. I RECENTLY HAD MY RECALLED DEFECTIVE TAKADA AIR BAG REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT ANTWERPEN JEEP IN CATONSVILLE MD. AFTER REPLACING THE AIR BAG, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS STILL ON IN MY VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD DIAGNOSE THE LIGHT FOR $135.00. I REFUSED TO PAY THIS BECAUSE THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING UNDER WARRANTY AND I INFORMED THEM OF MY AIR BAG LIGHT PROBLEM THEN. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $200.00 AT THAT TIME TO DIAGNOSE THE SYSTEM THAT THEY HAD JUST WORKED ON. I NOW FEEL THAT I CANNOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP TO WORK MY VEHICLE FOR THESE SAFETY ISSUES. THIS JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND ONLY HAS 80,000 MILES. PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM I HAVE HAD SINCE I BOUGHT THIS JEEP NEW IN DECEMBER OF 2006 FROM ANTWERPEN JEEP OF CATONSVILLE. WHEN THE JEEP NEEDS REFUELED, IT OVERFLOWS. THE PUMP HANDLE CAN BE MANUALLY OPERATED SO IT CAN PHYSICALLY STOP THE OVERFLOW BUT NOT EVERY TIME. HAPPENS EVERY WEEK USUALLY ON A THURSDAY OR FRIDAY MORNING. 87 OCTANE IS USED AND DOES NOT MATTER WHICH GAS STATION IS CHOSEN AT THE TIME. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE WHEN WE LIVED IN OREGON.
