OCTOBER 2009 I PURCHASED A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED FROM SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY IN CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA. THIS WAS MY DREAM JEEP- LIFT KIT, SIDE BARS, SUPREME STEREO SYSTEM, AND THE WORKS. THIS DREAM JEEP HAS TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE WITH A DEATH WOBBLE THAT KEEPS COMING BACK. I SHARE THIS JEEP WITH MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO HERSELF HAS EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE, A PHONE CALL FROM THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY THAT SCARED ME TO DEATH. BELOW IS THE LIST OF DATES AND MILEAGE IN WHICH I HAVE RETURNED THIS JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO FIX, BUT EACH TIME THEY RETURN IT TO ME THE WOBBLE RETURNS. I FEEL AS IF I AM CONTINUALLY PUTTING MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER AT RISK BUT DUE TO A DIVORCE MY FINANCES DO NOT ALLOW ME TO PURCHASE A NEW JEEP? EVEN THOUGH EVERY PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE ON THIS JEEP. THE DEALERSHIP PUT NEW TIRES ON IT AND TOLD ME IT IS CHRYSLER'S PROBLEM. I AM SORRY BUT THEIR WARRANTY AND TIRES CANNOT REPLACE MYSELF OR MY DAUGHTER IF BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE AND IGNORANCE WE ARE IN A CAR ACCIDENT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING OVER SPEED BUMPS OR SLOWER SPEED BUMPS I COULD FEEL A DISTINCT "CLUNK" IN THE STEERING. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THEY COULD NOT FEEL THE CLUNK ANYMORE. THE CLUNK RETURNED A FEW MONTHS LATER, NOW I CAN SEE THERE IS PLAY IN THE SECTOR SHAFT AS WELL AS THE PITMAN ARM ON THE STEERING BOX. *TR
GAS OVER FLOWS OUT OF GAS TANK AT EACH FILL UP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHEN FILLING MY JEEP'S GAS TANK THE PRESSURE INSIDE THE TANK BLOWS GAS BACK OUT THE FILL NECK. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL FILL UPS. *TR
WHILE FILLING UP MY GAS TANK I SET THE PUMP'S TRIGGER MECHANISM THAT ALLOWS FOR CONTINUOUS FLOW. PRIOR TO THE AUTOMATIC STOPPING OF THE PUMP A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF GASOLINE SPEWED OUT FROM THE TANK. THIS RESULTED IN A TRAIL OF GASOLINE FROM MY TANK DOWN THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND ULTIMATELY A LARGE PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ON THE PAVEMENT. *TR
GAS TANK OVERFLOWS DURING REFILL. *TR
BOUGHT A CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE FROM FAIRFIELD DODGE, CRYSLER, JEEP IN MUNCY , PA AND IN 4 MONTHS OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE IT HAD A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE, ENGINE LIGHT ON DUE TO BROKEN SENSOR, IN NEED OF FOUR BRAKE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. THEY STATED THAT WHEN THEY SERVICED THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY PURCHASED IT THAT THE ROTORS WERE CUT FOR THE LAST TIME WHEN THEY CERTIFIED THE VEHICLE FOR SALE ON THE LOT. AND NOW FOUR MONTHS LATER IT NEEDS $1,200.00 WORTH OF REPAIRS. THEY STATE THAT THE ESIM WAS BROKEN BY ME OR SOMEONE THAT WAS UNDER THE HOOD AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PARTS BUT NOT THE LABOR THE SAME WITH THE BRAKES. I FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN FRONT LINE READY OR EVEN CERTIFIED WITH ALL THESE ISSUES, THEY ARE VERY, VERY POOR REPRESENTITIVES OF YOUR BRAND. I DID NOT BUY A JEEP TO HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS WITHIN FOUR MONTHS OF PURCHASE. THEN WHEN I ARRIVED THE DAY OF SERVICE THEY NO LONGER HAD MY RECALL PART THEY PUT IT ON ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT CAME IN BEFORE MINE. I LIVE TWO HOURS AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY FAILED TO DO THERE JOB. *TR
I WAS GOING 45 OR SO ON A CURVE AND HIT A SMALL POTHOLE. ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY JEEP SHOOK ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLY AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO HOLD THE WHEEL TIGHT TILL I COULD SLOW DOWN AND GET OFF THE ROAD. I TOOK IT IN TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS DUE TO BAD TIRES. I PURCHASED NEW 2 NEW TIRES AS MINE WERE IN OK SHAPE AS IT WAS. A MONTH OR SO LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON A STRAIGHT AWAY WHEN HIT A BUMP. I WAS CLOSE TO LOSING CONTROL BOTH TIMES. *TR
THE LAST TIME TWO TIMES I FILLED MY GAS TANK, AT TWO DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, THERE WAS A BACKSPLASH OF GASOLINE AFTER THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED. I DID NOT TRY TO TOP OFF. AS I PULLED THE NOZZLE OUT OF THE TANK, ABOUT A CUP OR TWO OF GAS SPLASHED OUT OVER THE FENDER, MY FINGERS, AND ONTO THE GROUND. THE FIRST TIME I ASSUMED IT WAS A FREAK INCIDENT FROM THE PUMP, BUT AS IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME TODAY AT A DIFFERENT GAS STATION, IT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. *TR
FUEL OVERFLOW WHEN USING AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF AT GAS PUMP. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILLED MY GAS TANK STARTING ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, THERE WAS A OVERFLOW OF GASOLINE AFTER THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED. I DID NOT TRY TO TOP OFF. AS I PULLED THE NOZZLE OUT OF THE TANK, SEVERAL CUPS OF GAS SPEWED OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE. *TR
WHEN FUELING VEHICLE TANK FILL SPILLS OUT THE FUEL NECK. FUEL SPILLS ON GROUND. ALSO HAVE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THAT CODES FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. TALKED TO DEALERSHIP THEY ADVISE THERE IS NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, AFTER THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF, FUEL SPILLS FROM THE TANK. THE FUEL SPURTS OUT, GETTING ON SKIN AND CLOTHING, AND RUNS DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, ENOUGH TO PUDDLE ON THE GROUND. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT THE LAST TWO CONSECUTIVE FILL-UPS FOR THIS VEHICLE. IT OCCURRED AT TWO DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. AT NEITHER OCCURRENCE WAS THE TANK BEING "TOPPED OFF" WHEN THE FUEL SPILLAGE OCCURRED. THE FUEL SPURTING OUT ALLOWS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS EMISSIONS TO BE RELEASED. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL MY VEHICLE UP WITH GAS THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AND THEN THE VEHICLE SPEWS GAS OUT OF THE FILL TUBE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT EVERY PUMP I HAVE USED AT MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT ANGLES AND IT DOES NOT HELP. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED GAS GOT ALL OVER MY HANDS AND ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE PAINT WEARING AWAY AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE OF HAVING GAS UNDER THE VEHICLE. A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT COMES OUT OF THE FILL TUBE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING ON DIFFERENT FORUMS. IT LOOKS LIKE A WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED FOR 2007 AND 2008 MODELS, BUT NOT 2010'S. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 TO 55 MPH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE BEGAN DRIVING AGAIN AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000. UPDATED 01/09/13*LJ
WHEN FILLING UP GAS TANK, I SET THE PUMP TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. UPON SHUTTING OFF, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GAS SPEWED OUT DOWN THE SIDE OF VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I HAVE FILLED UP SINCE. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT GAS PUMPS AND STATION AND IT HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN EVERY TIME I HAVE FILLED UP. *TR
GOT INTO MY JEEP AND ALL OF A SUDDEN DING DING AIR BAG LIGHT I LOOKED FOR LOOSE WIRES BUT I HAVE THE INTERNET ITS ABOUT TIME CHRYSLER DOES SOMETHING. *TR
IN APPROX NOV OF 2012 I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FUEL OVERFLOWING ON GROUND/FEET WHEN FILLING GAS TANK. THERE WOULD BE A QUART OR BETTER OF FUEL THAT WOULD SPILL. AFTER THE FOURTH OCCURANCE I HAD DEALERSHIP CHECK IT OUT WHILE IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. ON FEBRUARY 6, 2013, I WAS ADVISED THAT THE VENT HAD FAILED ON THE GAS TANK AND THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS A MINIMUN THREE WEEK BACK ORDER ON JEEP GAS TANKS FROM CHRYSLER. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY ARE SEEING A HIGH NUMBER OF FILLER NECK AND TANK FAILURES, CAUSING THE DELAY IN OBTAINING PARTS. I WAS TOLD THIS IS NOT A RECALL, BUT I AM STILL COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW JEEP FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL WHILE IDILING. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THIS IS PROBABLY RELATED TO THE GAS TANK NOT VENTING. *TR
ON THE 2010 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES AND CHIMES WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE IN A FORWARD DRIVING MOTION. IT IS AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS. THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. OWNERS FROM ALL WRANGLER MODELS FROM 2007 - 2010 HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE. MANY OF THE 2007 MODELS HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FROM THE DEALER, AS WELL AS RIGHT HAND DRIVE MODELS. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2007 - 2010 JEEP WRANGLER'S (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING FOR THE 2010 MODEL, THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING. *TR
WHILE PULLING OUT FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR VIOLENTLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE PULLING OUT ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, WHERE I HAVE BEEN NEARLY HIT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE AND A TSB THE CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED. *TR
WHEN I FILL UP MY CAR GAS SPILLS OUT AT THE END. IT STARTED A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT BUT THEN IT STOPPED. THE LAST MONTH IT HAS GOTTEN EXTREMELY WORSE. I SAW THAT LATER MODEL JEEPS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL. MINE WAS DOING EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE RECALL VEHICLES, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT TANK. I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT I DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY A DIME FOR A CONTINUED PART PROBLEM. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK IT OVERFLOWS POURING GAS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE CAR, THE GROUND, AND MY CLOTHES. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY STATION SO I KNOW IT ISN'T THE PUMP. NO MATTER WHAT I DO, THIS HAPPENS. I AM 100% CERTAIN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TANK. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE TO ANY OF MY OTHER CARS. *TR
GAS PUMP DOES NOT SHUTOFF WHEN FILLING GAS TANK DURING INITIAL FILL (I DO NOT TOPOFF). THIS RESULTS IN FUEL SPILLING ALL OVER CAP, LEFT REAR BUMPER, SHOES AND GROUND. HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT STATIONS AND DIFFERENT PUMPS. IS NOT INTERMITTENT - HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. THE ONLY WAY TO PREVENT THIS IS TO GUESS ON NUMBER OF GALLONS REQUIRED AND MANUALLY SHUTOFF PUMP WHEN THAT VALUE IS REACHED. *TR
EVERY TIME I'VE FILLED UP THE GAS TANK, NO MATTER IF I DO IT AUTOMATIC SETTING OR MANUAL WITH THE LOWEST SETTING PRESSURE WHILE PUMPING. THE GAS OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME. I'VE TRIED SEVERAL GAS PUMPS, ADJUSTED THE SETTING OF THE PUMP INSIDE THE TANK, IT STILL OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE AND THEY SAID THAT MY 2010 YEAR MODEL WAS NOT COVERED FOR THE RECALL WHEN I'VE HEARD FROM FELLOW OWNERS OF THE 2010 MODEL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY JUST OPT TO NOT FILL UP THE TANK WHILE PUMPING AND JUST STOP MIDWAY. *TR
WHILE FILLING MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH FUEL IT SPIT BACK ON ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES. *TR
WHEN HITTING BUMPS THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHAKES. "DEATH WOBBLE" LOSE CONTROL UNTIL I CAN STOP JEEP. *TR
I WAS FILLING UP MY JEEP, AND WHEN THE GAS PUMP SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY, A LOT OF GASOLINE CAME SPILLING OUT ALL OVER THE CAR AND MY LEG. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK COMPLETELY, WITH GASOLINE RUSHING OUT DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
FUEL TANK SPITS OUT GAS AFTER AUTO FILL AT FUEL-UPS, DEALER CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH TANK. SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER, WITHOUT A DIAGNOSIS, THEY SAY IT IS A ANNOYANCE AND NOT NECESSARILY A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS AGO MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER BEGAN OVERFLOWING AT EVERY FILL UP, SPILLING FUEL ALL OVER THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. THIS HAD HAPPENED AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND DIFFERENT TEMPERATIONS, AND NO MATTER HOW SLOW I TRY TO PUMP THE FUEL IT STILL OVERFLOWS. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN ALL AT ONCE AND I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT BEFORE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, HE ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL SNAPPED, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASH INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SPLIT LIP AND A FRACTURED SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE STEERING FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
EVERY TIME I FUEL MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER THE FUEL JUST OVERFLOWS AND SPEWS OUT OF THE TANK AS THOUGH THERE IS NO STOPPING. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT FROM THE FACTORY. THIS NOT ONLY POSSESSES AN EXTREME THREAT TO HUMAN LIFE BUT AN EXTREME THREAT TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PROPERTY OF THE FUEL STATION OWNERS. I FEAR THAT THIS IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD AND IT IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE WITH FUEL EMERGING FROM THE TANK AND SPILLING ALL OVER THE GROUND. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS ON ALMOST ALL JEEP WRANGLERS FROM 2007-2011. BUT I GUESS PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE FIRST BEFORE CHRYSLER WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *JS
2010 JEEP WRANGLER. CONSUMER STATES ELECTRICAL ISSUES. VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER INSTALLED A BLACK BOX IN THE VEHICLE ON APRIL 10, 2012. HOWEVER, THE NEXT DAY, THE BLACK BOX STOPPED WORKING. *JB
EVERY TIME I FILL MY FUEL TANK WITH GAS, IT NEVER SHUTS OFF AND IT SPITS IT BACK OUT.
THE 'AIR BAG' LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME AND A DODGE TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED IT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY "CLOCKSPRING" I HAD READ ABOUT AS BEING A DEFECT IN ONLINE FORUMS. THE REPAIR WILL COST ME 500.00 AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN PAID OFF; ADDITIONALLY, THE DEALER/TECH TOLD ME THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY WITHOUT THE REPAIR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED DURING THE ENGINEERING PHASE AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THAT THE PART WOULD BE ON BACK ORDER FOR UP TO SIX MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 52,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A PASTURE THE FUEL LINE IN OUR 2010 AUTOMATIC JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED BECAME DETACHED FROM THE CLIP THAT HOLDS IT IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (ACCORDING TO THE DEALER). THE PLASTIC PART IN THE FUEL LINE MELTED WHEN IT BECAME IN CONTACT WITH PART OF THE HOT EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE JEEP STOP RUNNING AND A SMALL FIRE STARTED BENEATH THE JEEP ON THE GRASS . WE PUSHED THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY AND PUT THE FIRE OUT . THERE WAS NO FIRE DAMAGE TO THE JEEP. THE JEEP WAS REPAIRED AT LABELLE DODGE/CHRYSLER-JEEP, INC. PH: 1-800-226-1193 INVOICE NO. [XXX] WE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WE WERE TOLD THAT HAPPEN BECAUSE WE TOOK THE JEEP OFF ROAD. THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I HIT A BUMP AND EXPERIENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WHERE YOUR CAR SHAKES OUT OF CONTROL AND YOU HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO MAKE THE FRONT END STOP SHAKING. I HAVE TAKEN MY JEEP INTO HAVE THIS FIXED MORE THAN ONCE. THEY CLAIM THEY HAD TO CALL THE COOPERATE OFFICE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE "DEATH WOBBLE" THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT AND THEN ABOUT A MONTH LATER DID THE SAME THING. I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON COMPLAINING OF THIS PROBLEM. I'VE READ ONLINE PLENTY OF ACCIDENTS WHERE PEOPLE HAVE ALMOST FLIPPED THEIR JEEPS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS HOWEVER, THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WERE UNSURE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,081 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE SLOWED DOWN BEFORE THE SHAKING STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO DISENGAGE THE RELAY THAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 41,000.
INTERMITTENT LIGHTING OF ABS/AIRBAG. HORN NO LONGER WORKS. *TR
I TRIED TO STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HAD ABOUT 150 TO 200 FEET TO THE BACK OF THE NEXT VEHICLE. I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP AND I RELEASE AND PRESSED THE BRAKES AGAIN. THE VEHICLE NEVER STOPPED AND CONTINUED TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE POLICE WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE IT AWAY FROM THE SCENE, THE DEALER INSISTED THAT I PAY A TOW TRUCK TO BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND AFTER THE SECOND DAY I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION OR ANY HOPE OF ANY? I WANT TO KNOW WHAT FAILED, CAN OR WILL THEY FIX IT AND WHAT CAN I DO TO GET TO WORK NOW? I BOUGHT IT NEW IN OCT 2010 AND IT HAS 35286 MILES ON IT. WELL WITHIN WARRENTY.
WHEN DRIVING THE 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT AT 40MPH AND HIT A BUMP THE JEEP VIBRATES AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE LOSING CONTROL OF THE CAR. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO HIT THE BRAKES AND HOPE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STEER THE CAR SINCE YOU CANNOT WHEN THIS OCCURS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD A NAME FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS "DEATH WOBBLE". I ALSO NOTICED THAT MY TIRES WEAR MUCH QUICKER IN THE FRONT THEN THE REAR OF THE JEEP. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
ATTEMPTED TO STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. TRIED PUMPING BUT NOTHING. ENDED UP RUNNING THE RED LIGHT AND WAS NOT ABLE TO GET IT TO STOP UNTIL I HAD CROSSED THROUGH ALL THE LANES TO THE OTHER SIDE. BRAKES STARTED WORKING AFTER CROSSING THE STREET AND CONTINUED TO WORK UNTIL TAKEN BACK TO JEEP SERVICE. THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE FLUID. FOUND INTERNAL FAILURE OF BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, INSTALLED NEW ONE AND BLEED MASTER CYLINDER. EVIDENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2010 MASTER CYLINDERS BUT MY JEEP DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE. HOW DO I KNOW THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW TYPE AND NOT THE SAME STYLE MASTER CYLINDER THAT FAILED. *JS *TR
DEATH WOBBLE. CAR SHAKES VIOLENMTLY WHEN HITTING BUMP ON INTERSTATE AT 50-70 MPH. HAVE TO SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY TO STOP IT. AFRAID SOMEONE WILLL HIT ME FROM BEHIND. *TR
TIPM IS CREATING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE HEADLIGHTS FAIL TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE ON START UP OR ONCE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE JEEP AND STATED THE TIPM MODULE WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART WAS INDEFINITELY ON BACKORDER FROM JEEP, AND COULD NOT EVEN BE REPLACED IF IT WERE UNDER WARRANTY. DRIVING THIS VEHICLE THAT IS UNDER 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS WITH THE TIPM MODULE ON JEEP / CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THIS WILL HAPPEN TO SOMEONE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE, AND CREATE A DEADLY EVENT. WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHRYSLER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION AND CORRECT THE ISSUE TO PROTECT THE SAFETY OF THE MISSIONS OF PEOPLE DRIVING THEIR VEHICLES. *TR
STOCK 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED RUBICON ~25,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING ~ 25MPH ON A CITY STREET, BRAKES FAILED AND I DROVE THROUGH A STOP SIGN - I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE DASH AND ATTEMPTED TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BEFORE I COULD, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND I NOTICED FLAMES FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. I JUMPED FROM THE JEEP. FIRE SERVICES WERE ON SCENE W/I 2 MINUTES AND JEEP WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES (AROUND ENGINE COMPARTMENT) W/I 30 SECONDS. *TR
MY 2010 JEEP WAS PARKED BUT RUNNING WHEN A FRIEND YELLED THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE SO I GOT OUT AND LOOKED AND FLAMES WERE SHOOTING OUT OF THE GRILL AND COMING OUT OF THE WHEEL WELL, WITHIN 2 MIN THE WHOLE JEEP WAS IN FLAMES AND WAS A TOTAL LOSS, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED BUT WAS TOO LATE, THE INSURANCE COMPANY SAID IT MOST LIKELY CAME FROM THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE AS THERE WAS PROBLEMS REPORTED LATELY. *JS
FOR THE PAST MONTH, AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY A HALF AN HOUR OR SO, I HAVE NOTICED WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT SOMETIMES WHEN I STOP COMPLETELY AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT. I HAVE NOTICED THIS AT LEAST EIGHT OR NINE TIMES. I DO TAKE LONG TRIPS AND IT IS MY DAILY VEHICLE AND NOW THAT I HAVE HEARD ABOUT SOME 2010 JEEP WRANGLER MODELS EXPERIENCING VEHICLE FIRES, I WANTED TO SEE IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO ENSURE MY FAMILY AND I'S SAFETY AS WE TRAVEL.
