THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBER CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE POWER STEERING RETURN TUBE WHICH CAUSED THE LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

I RECEIVED THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE RECALL NOTICE IN SEPTEMBER 2013. I HAVE BEEN TRYING EVER SINCE TO GET THE PART REPLACED, BUT EACH DEALERSHIP RECEIVES ONLY ONE PART PER WEEK BECAUSE THE "PARTS ARE ON RESTRICTION." LAST MONTH I WAS TOLD I WAS NUMBER 76 ON THE WAIT LIST - IF THEY GET ONE PART PER WEEK, I WILL GET MY PART IN OCTOBER 2015, MORE THAN TWO YEARS AFTER THE RECALL NOTICE WAS ISSUED. THIS DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE LACK OF COMMITMENT TO SAFETY ON CHRYSLER'S PART -- THEY ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DRIVING WITH A FAULTY PART FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS. PLEASE DO WHATEVER IS POSSIBLE TO FORCE CHRYSLER TO PRODUCE ALL OF THE PARTS NECESSARY TO SATISFY THE RECALL IMMEDIATELY. *JS

I AM STILL ATTEMPTING TO GET RECALL N28 (TRANS OIL COOLER TUBE PART CBRAN281AA) AND AM TOLD THERE IS NO LONGER A LIST (TOO LONG) AND THAT CHRYSLER NOW ONLY RELEASES ONE PART EVERY 14 DAYS TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL. I AM TOLD TO CALL THE DEALER EVERY 14 DAYS TO CHECK, BUT THEY SAID IT WILL BE A LONG TIME. HOW IS THIS AN ACCEPTABLE RECALL FIX TO NHTSA? AT THIS RATE THE RECALL WILL OUTLIVE THE VEHICLES AND THE SAFETY RISK (FIRE) IS ASSUMED TOTALLY BY THE CONSUMER. FROM THE ONLINE FORUMS IT APPEARS THIS IS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. I THINK THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS REGULATORY INTERVENTION. *TR
ON HILL WITH PEDESTRIANS ALL AROUND I STOPPED VEHICLE, PLACED IT IN PARK, TURNED KEY OFF. THEN I ROTATED OUT THE DOOR RELEASING THE BRAKE. VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN HILL WITH PEOPLE DIVING OUT OF THE WAY. MANAGED TO ROTATE BACK INTO POSITION AND STOP VEHICLE IN ABOUT 20 FEET. STARTED MOTOR MOVED VEHICLE FORWARD, ENGAGED PARK WHICH THEN WORKED AND SET EMERGENCY BRAKE. AFTER THAT I MADE SURE THAT PARK CORRECTLY ENGAGED BEFORE GETTING OUT OF POSITION. ON A SECOND OCCASION ON THE SAME DAY PARK FAILED TO ENGAGE, HOWEVER I WAS PREPARED AND IT ONLY ROLLED BACKWARDS A FEW INCHES. SINCE THE FAILURE TO COMPLETELY ENGAGE PARK NEARLY INJURED PEOPLE BEHIND ME, AND IF I HAD FAILED TO GET TO THE BRAKE WAS HEADED OFF A CLIFF WITH MY WIFE IN IT, MY FIRST STOP WAS TO THE JEEP FACTORY WARRANTY STATION AT HOME. VEHICLE WAS TRAILERED BACK HOME. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE SO FIXED NOTHING. BOTH TIMES PARK FAILED YOU COULD HEAR THE PARKING PAWL RATCHETING. *TR
ONE MORNING THE CONTROLS, HORN, & I'M ASSUMING, AIRBAG STOPPED WORKING (NO LIGHTS OR FUNCTIONALITY). JUST NOTICED THE FIRST TIME GOING OUT FOR THE DAY. THE REMOVABLE HARD TOP PANELS WHERE OFF, AND SOME DEW WAS PRESENT IN THE AIR EARLIER THAT MORNING.... BUT IT'S A JEEP. THE HORN HONKED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL ONCE AND THEN NO MORE. IT DOES STILL WORK WHEN LOCKING THE DOORS AND SUCH REMOTELY. *TR

UNDER 16,000 MILES REGULAR MAINTENANCE THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVING TO REPLACE A CYLINDER HEAD. *TR
CHECK ENGINE HAD BEEN COMING ON AND GOING OFF FOR A FEW WEEKS FINALLY HAS STAYED ON STEADY FOR OVER A WEEK NOW. CALLED MY DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT YESTERDAY AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME TO RESET THE COMPUTER TO SEE IF IT WOULD STAY CLEARED. RESET BEFORE LEAVING WORK GOT ABOUT TWO MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND IT'S BURNING BRIGHT AGAIN. I CALLED THEM AND THEY ASKED ME TO BRING IT IN THE FOLLOWING MORNING. DROPPED IT OFF AND GOT A RIDE TO WORK. THEY CALLED ME BEFORE LUNCH AND INFORMED ME THAT I HAD A BAD HEAD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF MY JEEP AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. SO I'M JEEPLESS FOR A FEW DAYS BUMPING A RIDE TO WORK UNTIL IT'S REPAIRED. *TR
I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION A FEW MONTHS AGO OF A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CRASH. I CONTACTED MY DEALER & HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO ADDRESS THIS RECALL. AS OF MY LAST CONVERSATION WITH HIM A FEW DAYS AGO, HE INFORMED ME THAT IT WOULD BE AT THE VERY LEAST 9 MONTHS BEFORE HE COULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, THAT HE WAS NOT RECEIVING THE PARTS FROM JEEP. IN THE INTERIM MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IS DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WHICH JEEP ITSELF ISSUED A RECALL FOR AND THEY ARE APPARENTLY NOT HONORING THIS RECALL, AND ARE UNCONCERNED THAT THEY ARE PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS IN DANGER.

THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL TO BE ABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A SPECIALIZED MECHANIC, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
I WAS DRIVING OVER THE WEEKEND AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. MY JEEP SEEMED A LITTLE SLUGGISH OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND FOR THEM TO LET ME KNOW WHY THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THEY CAME BACK AND SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE CYLINDER HEAD AND THAT IT WOULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. WHILE I WAS FORTUNATE TO TAKE IT IN PROMPTLY, IT DOES CONCERN ME THAT THIS PROBLEM MIGHT CAUSE MY OTHER HEADS TO BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE SAME FAILURE. *TR
ITEM IS A RECALL, YET CHRYSLER IS NOT SHIPPING REPLACEMENT PARTS TO DEALERS IN TIMELY FASHION. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AS THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ALL LOCAL 5 DEALERS CLAIM THERE IS A WAITING LIST FOR PARTS. RECALL NOTICE IS N28. *TR

RECALL WAS ISSUED IN SEPTEMBER 2013, AS OF 3/25/2014, I AM STILL UNABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR DUE TO LACK OF PARTS AVAILABLE. ONE DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAVE A WAITING LIST UNTIL AT LEAST THE END OF THE SUMMER, AS THEY ARE ONLY ALLOCATED ONE PART PER WEEK. ANOTHER DEALER JUST TELLS ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND TO TRY BACK IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. *TR

WHEN TRYING TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO REMEDY THIS WITH A CHRYSLER DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER WAS RELEASING A SMALL NUMBER OF PARTS (1 PART EVERY 14 DAYS), AND AS A RESULT WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 2 TO 3 MONTHS BEFORE I COULD SCHEDULE THIS REPAIR. THIS SEEMED UNBELIEVABLE TO ME FOR A SAFETY RECALL THAT CHRYSLER INDICATES COULD RESULT IN A FIRE UNDER MY VEHICLE. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALER TO CONFIRM AND WAS TOLD THE SAME STORY. OBVIOUSLY I AM NOT FILING THIS COMPLAINT AS A RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT, INJURY, OR DEATH. I WOULD HOPE MY COMPLAINT COULD SPUR SOME TYPE OF ACTION ON CHRYSLER'S PART BEFORE ANY CATASTROPHE OCCURS. *TR

PURCHASED MY JEEP WRANGLER IN MAY OF 2012. SINCE PURCHASE THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF THE WIPERS TURNING ON WHEN IN THE OFF POSITION. WIPERS MAKE A SINGLE PASS AND STOP. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS. IT ALSO OCCURS AT TIMES WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS ACTIVATED. I BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE AND THE DEALER REPLACED A SWITCH. BUT NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN. ALSO, WHEN STOPPED I AM UNABLE TO VIEW VIDEOS ON THE DVD PLAYER. THE PLAYER HAS BEEN REPLACED, BUT NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING.

THE VEHICLE BEGAN DRIFTING TO THE LEFT AFTER TRAVELING OVER A ROAD BUMP AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SHOULDER BUT WAS NOT TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

CALLED TO CHECK AND THEY SAY THAT ONLY ONE PART GETS SENT EVERY 14 DAYS AND PEOPLE SINCE AUGUST HAVE BEEN WAITING. I'M NOW #100 ON THE LIST. IF I DO THE MATH CORRECT IN 4 YEARS I'LL GET THE PART. I RECENTLY RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER (N28/NHTSA 13V-234) AND CONTACTED MY DEALER (DAVID JEEP IN GLEN MILLS, PA) ABOUT HAVING THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED. THEIR UNFORTUNATE RESPONSE WAS THAT THE PARTS ARE BACKORDERED AND MAY TAKE ANYWHERE FROM "A FEW WEEKS TO A FEW MONTHS." AFTER COMMUTE OF 35 - 40 MINUTES FROM WORK I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE AND CLOSED THE DOOR DOWN FOR THE NIGHT AS USUAL AND WENT INSIDE . 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT; 1ST INCIDENT WITH HOT OIL MESSAGE, RESULTED IN DEALERSHIP FIXING THE RECALL THEY ALL OF A SUDDEN HAD PARTS FOR (THAT WERE ON BACK ORDER FOR MONTHS-AND FOR A RECALL). SO, I WENT TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER IN A TOWN 15 MINUTES AWAY WHERE I HAD MOVED TO AS IT WAS CLOSER ANYWAY...LETTING THE LIAR-PART GO, THINKING THE OTHER DEALERSHIP WOULD SURELY DO THE RIGHT THING. I CALLED CHRYSLER FOR HELP (MINIMAL SUPPORT FROM DEALER AS THEY ASKED ME TO FOLLOW-UP) AND IT APPEARS THE ORDER # THE DEALERSHIP PROVIDED ME WITH WAS FOR THE WRONG PART.
