The engine has lower engine knocking. It has a rod knocking very loud. It could throw a rod through engine at any time, cause the vehicle to wreck and catch on fire. Yes, it was confirmed that it had a rod knocking in engine. yes, An ASE Certified mechanic. No check engine light came on. It just started knocking real bad and lost power.They appeared as I was driving down the road.
The oil light will turn on intermittently, usually when pressure is applied to the brakes, or the vehicle is in park. While the vehicle is driving, the engine light, oil light, and battery light will turn on and the engine will turn off, effectively stalling the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic, and they could not determine the problem nor a solution. The car was then taken to a Kia shop, and a faulty oil sensor and faulty crank sensor were determined to be the problem. The sensors were replaced, and the car made it under 6 miles before it stalled again. A broken engine is now determined to be the problem. The car has approximately 66,500-66,600 miles on it, I bought the car when it had about 63,500 miles on it in November, so I only put 3k miles on it, so a broken engine due to consumer error is highly unlikely, since the car has been getting its oil changed and other upkeep regularly throughout the cars life. The car has stalled at 40mph, to like 5mph when i was backing out of a parking spot. The speed of the car does not seem to effect when it stalls, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it stalls. I have gone on a 5 mile trip and it stalls 5 times, and i have gone on a 30 mile trip where it only stalled twice.

While driving, my engine started knocking. I stopped driving and turned off my car. I had it towed to a shop and was informed it was the same issue as the recall for 2.4 engines and told me to call Kia. Kia said it’s not covered under the recall so they won’t look at it.

The contact's daughter owned a 2015 Kia Forte. The contact stated while his daughter was driving at 15 MPH, another vehicle going 40 MPH crashed into the passenger front side of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact stated his daughter sustained whiplash and was taken to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.
2015 forte with 1.8l engine. Rod nock noise developed after 104k miles. Loss of power and drivability is decreasing. No diagnostic lights on. Called Kia and was told that the 1.8L are not under the recall. However there are several 1.8 motors exhibiting the same symptoms. Oil changes have been done at suggested intervals. I believe the recall needs to be expanded. Kia wants me to take to dealer to verify. ASE mechanic has looked at it.
The engine seized up and smoke was noted on April 29, 2021. The vehicle was towed to Woodstock Carriage Kia, after being told that vehicle would start being repaired within 1 to 3 days. The service dated has been changed 3 times. Three months later, the dealer still does not have the short block engine from South Korea. The dealer did state that Kia would reimburse me for towing and a rental car (will not pay taxes or insurance for a rental car) eventually after car is repaired. I do not have the financial resources to pay for a rental car upfront for an unknown time period. The dealer stated they only have one loaner car, which they will not loan to me. The dealer also explained there are vehicles on the lot that have been sitting there since Nov. 2020, waiting for engines due to this recall. This is unacceptable. I need my car to be repaired. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT IN JAN 2021 FROM A DEALERSHIP WITH UNDER 20,000 MILES. IT WAS NOT INSPECTED BY THE DEALERSHIP PRIOR TO THEM SELLING IT.THEY DID NOT OFFER A WARRANTY ON THIS CAR. IN APRIL 2021, THE ENGINE DIED. THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AT THIS TIME, BUT CLEARLY THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS MOTOR. 0
PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE, MECHANIC NOTICE METAL PIECES IN THE OIL FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS 120,289 MILES. ENGINE WAS KNOCKING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, MAKES LOUD NOISES, PUTTERS, KNOCKS AND THEN STALLS. CANNOT USE ON HIGHWAY, TOO DANGEROUS, IT WONT GO HIGH SPEEDS. I HAVE OIL CHANGES RECEIPTS FOR THE ENTIRE 120K MILES.
JUST FINANCED FROM A DEALER ON 4/12, HAD MAJOR OIL LEAK, HAD TO RETURN TO DEALERSHIP. SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED, BUT CURRENTLY STILL HAVE A BAD OIL LEAK. THE TAIL LIGHTS THAT SURROUND THE BREAK LIGHTS CONSIST OF FOUR LED LIGHT BARS. IT IS ALWAYS RANDOM WITH OF THE LED ACTUALLY WORK. THE

KIA REFUSED TO TAKE THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AS THE PROBLEM CAUSE IS DESCRIBED BY THE RECALL. I TOOK THE CAR TO FREDY KIA ON 04/08/21 AND IT WILL BE CHECKED UNTIL 04/19/21.
MY ENGINE JUST STARTED MAKING "KNOCKING" SOUNDS OUT OF NOWHERE...IM UP TO DATE ON OIL CHANGES AND I CHECK THE OIL OFTEN...IT KNOCKS WHILE IDLE AND IN MOTION.

I TOOK THE CAR TO PHIL SMITH KIA AT 4250 N FEDERAL HWY, LIGHTHOUSE POINT, FL 33064 TELEPHONE (954) 545-7200 AND THEY REFUSED TO RECALL THE VEHICLE. WHAT PROCEDURE TO ADOPT IN THIS CASE?
MY CAR LEFT MY CHILD STRANDED ON THE INTERSTATE IN ORANGEBURG ON THE WAY HOME TO MACEDONIA, SC. IT WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND SHE HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. APPARENTLY THERE IS A RECALL ON MY ENGINE & I NEVER RECEIVED IT. I NOW HAVE A UNUSABLE CAR IN THE SHOP THAT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE DUE TO OIL LEAKING. My car engine burns oil like crazy. I received a recall notice and brought my vehicle to Gary Rome Kia in Enfield. I brought it in with the check engine light on as it was on listed conditions for the recall and when i was told everything passed i still had a check engine light and excessive burning of oil. The engine is not working properly and wasn't rectified during the recall process. I am afraid with how much oil it is burning it may lead to a fire in the engine compartment. I have followed all of the usual recommended services and was not made whole during the recall event.
I WILL BE DRIVING MY 2015 KIA FORTE AND IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. NO WARNING AT ALL. JUST THANKFUL THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN HIT BY ANYONE. I FIRST NOTICED 3/1/2021 THAT MY CAR WAS USING HIGHER RPMS THAN NORMAL. THEN THE FOLLOWING MORNING OF 3/2/2021 WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON IT IMMEDIATELY STARTED MAKING A TICKING/WINDING SOUND WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL. BY THE END OF THE DAY THE NOISE AND ISSUE HAD GOTTEN WORSE WHEN I WAS TRYING TO DRIVE. IT STARTED NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE AT ALL AND FINALLY IT STARTED SMOKING AND TURNED COMPLETELY OFF AND LEAVING ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
I recently went to the dealership to get a diagnostic's test on December 22nd, 2021. I bought the car October 14th, 2020. My vehicle had a recall on it that was issued in December 2020 and they claim it was fixed a few years ago despite the car only being 5 years old. I believe they did not fix it and sold the car to me As-Is knowing they installed a faulty aftermarket part. From my understanding, Catalytic Convertors are supposed to last around 10 years but the car was only 5 years old at the time of purchase, meaning they replaced it prior to me buying the car. I went in and they claim my catalytic converter was no good and I would have to spend $1700 to replace it. I feel like it is a money grab where they clear the codes on the vehicle, sell it knowing there are issues with no warranty, and then wait for the customer to return to pay to fix the vehicle. I believe the recall was never repaired despite them saying they did as I am having a lot of the issues customers faced with the recall and I am genuinely concerned for my safety and finances as this car cannot pass an emissions test despite them claiming it passed (again, probably cleared the codes to pass). I feel like the vehicle needs to be relooked at and repaired by them since they sold it with aftermarket parts they installed when a Kia dealership should only be repairing and replacing with genuine parts manufactured by Kia, not a third party. Again, just because they sold it "As is" with issues they potentially created should be illegal and they need to be held accountable. I will report to BBB and an consumer attorney. The engine idles and the vehicle slows down and speeds up while driving. There is a gurgling and knocking sound while the engine idles.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR KEEPS CUTTING OFF
AFTER HEARING THE CAR WAS MAKING A STRANGE SOUND WHILE IN MOTION AND BRINGING IT INTO THE DEALER 3 TIMES OVER THE SPAN OF A YEAR, IT WAS IDENTIFIED THAT BOTH FRONT CALIPERS WERE FROZEN/BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BEFORE REALIZING THAT THIS WAS THE ISSUE, THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING, FRONT BRAKE PADS, AND REAR BRAKES ALL WERE REPLACED AS A RESULT OF OVERCOMPENSATING FOR THE CALIPERS.
WHILE DRIVING IN CITY OR HIGHWAY, YOU HEAR ENGINE NOISE, SEE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT, ILLUMINATION OF THE LOW OIL WARNING LIGHT. THEN VEHICLE PROPULSION STOPS SUDDENLY, CONTINUES TO COAST BUT PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR HAS NO EFFECT, THE ENGINE DOESN'T REV. STOPPING, TURNING OFF ENGINE FOR 30 OR MORE MINUTES MAY ALLOW VEHICLE TO START AND MOVE AGAIN. ALSO FUEL SMELL.

I HAD SUDDENLY ENGINE MADE SOUND SHUTTER , I ALMOST GOT HIT BY 18 WHEEL TRUCK, I MANAGER TO PULL FINELLY AND AVOID ACCIDENT AND MANAGE TO PULL RIGHT, FIRAR IT WAS CLOSE TO SIDE RAILS . THE CAR HAD SP MUCH ENGINE NOISE , AND IT CUTS OF. 1.8 ENGINE WAS WONDERFULL . I WANNA THIS ENGINE TO REPKACED BY DEALER HAS ONLY 78 THOUSANDS MILES
AT NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS ON AND DRIVING OR NOT, WHEN YOU USE THE TURN SIGNAL THE HEAD LIGHTS WILL GO OFF. IF YOU WIGGLE THE BLINKER ARM, THEY WILL COME BACK ON. BUT YOU ARE DRIVING WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SEE BECAUSE THE LIGHTS GO OFF. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME.
I MADE A FORMER COMPLAINT REGARDING OIL CONSUMPTION. I THEN BROUGHT MY KIA FORTE5 IN DUE TO CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE & KNOCKING (OIL CONSUMPTION WAS THE SYMPTOM). IT ALSO HAD A RATTLING NOISE WHICH WE SUSPECTED MAY BE THE CAT. LONG STORY SHORT, KIA HASN'T PAID A DIME FOR THIS, DESPITE THERE BEING A RECALL WHICH INCLUDES MY VIN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS COME UP WITH EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK TO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. MY SHORT BLOCK MAY BE REPAIRED, BUT NOW THEY'RE SAYING I NEED TO PAY $2700 FOR A NEW CAT & MUFFLER... WHICH WAS DAMAGED FROM THE DEFECTIVE/RECALLED ENGINE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP & CONSUMER ASSISTANCE CENTER HAS BEEN DEPLORABLE AT BEST. THIS HAS BEEN THE MOST STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THEIR SHOP FOR OVER A MONTH. THEY ALSO ARE CHARGER ME FOR NEW SPARK PLUGS, EVEN THOUGH I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO BUY THEM RIGHT NOW IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE. OH, THE TWO-WEEK LATE LOANER THEY FINALLY GOT TO ME? THEY DECIDED TO CALL ME AND TELL ME DAY-OF THAT THEY WERE NO LONGER COVERING IT AND WOULD CHARGE ME $35/DAY - NO WARNING. IT DOESN'T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO FIGURE OUT THAT THE ENGINE FAILURE CAUSED SYSTEMIC ISSUES, WHICH SHOULD MORE CERTAINLY BE COVERED BY KIA.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED OF AN UPCOMING RECALL THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 27, 2021 FOR KIA VEHICLES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

WHEN DRIVING MY 2015 KIA FORTE, IT SOMETIMES WHEN GIVING IT GAS TO GO IT WILL NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY, IT TAKING A SECOND OR TWO. AND RPM JUMP TO 3500 TO 4000 BEFORE IT SHIFTS. AND IT GET BAD FUEL MILEAGE SOMETIMES TOO.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THE STARTED HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE ENGINE WAS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED JIM SHORKEY KIA (12900 US-30, IRWIN, PA 15642: (724) 241-0176) AND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V750000 (ENGINE), HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000.

DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. ENGINE STARTED TO HAVE A TICKING SOUND TO IT, I WAS ONLY 5 MINS FROM MY HOUSE SO I FIGURED I'D LOOK AT IT WHEN I GOT HOME. WENT TO ACCELERATE AND MY CAR DIDN'T HAVE THE POWER IT USED TO. NEXT I HEAR A POP SOUND AND WHITE SMOKE OUT OF THE EXHAUST. PULL OVER SMELL BURNT OIL AND OIL ALL OVER THE ALTERNATOR.

ALL OF THE HEADLAMPS / ALL TAIL/PARK/MARKER / ALL I/P ILLUMINATION LAMPS GOES OUT WHEN TURNING ON THE TURN SIGNALS WHILE DRIVING & SIGNALING FOR AN UPCOMING TURN. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY & IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. THE LAMPS USUALLY RETURN TO NORMAL WITHIN A SECOND OR TWO.
WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF AND WASN'T WORKING. I WAS UNABLE TO START IT AGAIN. NO OIL LIGHTS, NO ENGINE LIGHTS, OR ANY OTHER WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON PRIOR TO IT DYING. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THERE IS NO OIL IN THE MOTOR AND I AM NOT UNDERSTANDING. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED EVERY 3-5,000 MILES. THE CAR SHOULDN'T HAVE STOPPED OPERATING WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF. I WAS TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET DURING THAT TIME.
WE WERE NOT EXPERIENCING ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN THE CITY AND THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING DUE TO ENGINE ISSUES. IT APPEARS TO BE EXACTLY WHAT IS IN THE RECENT RECALL BUT OUR CAR IS NOT INCLUDED. THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK THAT WAS NOT NOTICEABLE AT ALL.
THE VEHICLE MILEAGE IS CURRENTLY AT 115,446 . AT APPROXIMATELY 110,000 MILES VEHICLE STARTED WITH A VERY LOUD COLD START. NOT ONLY WAS IT LOUD BUT IT WAS ROUGH WITH A HIGH RPM. I KNOW THEY CALL IT COLD START FOR A REASON BUT THIS IS NOT COMMON WITH OTHER VEHICLES I OWNED THAT WERE 2015S. NOW THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A TICKING OR KNOCKING NOISE. CURRENTLY THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND WITH THE OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT ARE MATCHING EXACTLY UP TO MINE WHY ISNT THIS PROBLEM BEING INVESTIGATED OR RECALLED? IF AND WHEN THIS VEHICLE SEIZES ON ME LIKE EVERY COMPLAINT ON HERE I WILL UPDATE. THERE IS SUPPOSEDLY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BUT NOT A SINGLE RECALL. NOT EVEN AN INVESTIGATION? PLEASE UPDATE US AND PREVIOUS OWNERS OF THE COMPLAINTS WHAT STEPS YALL ARE TAKING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
WE ONLY BOUGHT THIS CAR 8 MONTHS AGO WITH 70,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE. WE NOTICED THE ENGINE SEEMED TO BE LOSING POWER AFTER ABOUT 4 MONTHS. THEN LAST WEEK THE CAR ABRUPTLY SHRIEKED AND STOPPED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. AFTER WHICH, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO KNOCK, AND WE HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US WE WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE AND THE KNOCK WAS COMING FROM THE LOW END. WE HAVE RELIGIOUSLY SERVICED THE VEHICLE, AND THE CAR ONLY HAD 80,000 MILES WHEN THE ENGINE BLEW. CLEARLY THIS IS A FAILURE OF THE MANUFACTURER, BUT BECAUSE WE ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNERS, KIA REFUSES TO PROVIDE THE REPAIRS THEY KNOW THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR.
PURCHASED A BRAND NEW CAR BATTERY A WEEK AGO, THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE, SPENT THE DAY OUT, WENT BACK TO MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. HAD TO CALL AAA TO GET A JUMP ON A BRAND NEW CAR BATTERY. WENT BACK TO WHERE I PURCHASED THE BATTERY, THEY SAID IT WAS NOT THE BATTERY, THEY DID REPLACE IT AND RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY COULD NOT FINE AN ISSUE AND STATED IT MUST BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. WENT ABOUT MY DAY, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, THE CAR LIGHTS TURNED OFF ON THERE OWN, I HAD TO PULL OVER TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON SO THE LIGHTS WOULD WORK AGAIN. YESTERDAY, I WENT TO SWITCH MY CAR WITH MY GIRLFRIEND AND IT WOULD NOT TURN ON OR EVEN CRANK TO TURN ON, AFTER TRYING FOR THE 5TH TIME, IT FINALLY TURNED ON. I HAVE A BABY AND DRIVING MY CAR HAS ME VERY SCARED. PLEASE HELP
THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON LIKE IF THE BAGS DEPLOYED BUT THEY HAVE NOT VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ACCIDENT. THEY TELL ME IT'S LOW VOLTAGE IN AIRBAG SENSOR? VEHICLE WAS OFF TURNED ON AND THE LIGHT CAME AIRBAG DEPLOYED LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO TURN OFF.

2 MONTHS AGO WE HAD OIL CHANGED, THE VEHICLE WAS 2000 MILES FROM NEEDING NEXT ONE. IT STARTED KNOCKING & WE WERE ABLE TO GET TO MECHANIC, HE SAID IT LOOKED LIKE THE OIL HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED NEEDED OIL AND HE CLEANED THE ENGINE AND MADE SURE EVERYTHING WAS IN WORKING ORDER. NO LEAKS WERE DETECTED. 1000 MILES LATER HEAR A CLANKING SOUND AND WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT IN THE DRIVEWAY AND CAR SHUT OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND WHEN I LOOKED UNDER HOOD THERE WAS A SPARK. LOOKED TO BE NO OIL PUT IN 2 QUARTS AND LET IT SIT OVER NIGHT. CHECKED OIL AGAIN BEFORE ADDING ANYMORE & LEVELS WERE FINE. MECHANIC SAID ENGINE WAS DONE. THE OIL IS GOING SOMEWHERE & THIS MODEL HAS A TOYOTA ENGINE, SO I THINK SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON. WE HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL MAINTENANCE ON THIS VEHICLE. WE TRAVEL ALL HIGHWAY AND IT DOES HAVE 200,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD HONDAS & TOYOTAS & NO PROBLEMS. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER KIA. WE DID NOT HAVE IT REPAIRED OR REPLACED & WAS TOLD BY KIA THAT THEY DO NOT MAKE THAT ENGINE ANYMORE.
MY FORTE'S ENGINE SEIZED AT 106,000 MILES. AS I WAS DRIVING THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A TICKING SOUND. THE ENGINE SEIZED UP AND I WAS TOLD THEY HAVEN'T RECALLED THIS DESPITE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO THIS YEAR AND MAKE OF KIA.
