TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SLIDING DOOR FAILS TO CLOSE ALL THE WAY AND OCCASIONALLY SLIDES OPEN WHEN PARKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE REMAINS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BACK AT THE DEALER AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT THE FAILURE CANNOT BE PERMANENTLY CORRECTED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 KIA SEDONA. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 5-35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AS THOUGH IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL WHEN IN IDLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE COMPUTER IS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO MISFIRE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND TRYING TO SLOW DOWN, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO THRUST THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND THE RPMS KEPT INCREASING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT LEAST THREE TIMES AFTER THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT IF THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,609.
WE ARE HAVING ONGOING ISSUES WITH FRONT TURN SIGNAL FAILURES ON OUR SEDONA AND WE HAVE HEARD FROM OTHER SEDONA OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I AT FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS A SIMPLE MATTER OF POOR FACTORY QUALITY LIGHT BULBS (I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE EVERY BULB ON THIS VEHICLE BEFORE IT WAS EVEN TWO YEARS OLD). THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE I WAS HAVING SEEMS TO BE CORRECTED BY MORE EXPENSIVE AND HIGHER QUALITY BULBS. THE FRONT TURN SIGNAL ISSUE IS NOT A BULB ISSUE. AFTER REPLACING FRONT TURN SIGNAL BULBS ON A QUARTERLY BASIS SINCE 2007, I FINALLY SLOWED DOWN TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT TURN SIGNALS, IS THE GROUND CONTACT POINT WITHIN THE BULB SOCKET. THE GROUND "TAB" IS THIN AND OVER HEATS. ONCE THE TAB IS HOT, IT STARTS TO LOOSE THE SPRING TENSION REQUIRED TO KEEP THE TAB IN CONTACT WITH THE SIDE OF THE BULB. ONCE CONTACT IS LOST, ARCING STARTS TO FORM PITS AND CORROSION ON THE GROUND TAB AND THE CONTACT POINT. REPLACING GOOD BULBS WILL SOMETIMES MASK THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE OLD BULB AND REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER, YOU WILL UNINTENTIONALLY KNOCK AWAY SOME OF THE CORROSION. IN DOING SO, THE NEW BULB MAY START TO OPERATE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. IN THE PAST TWO YEARS, I HAVE SIMPLY REMOVED THE BULB, BENT OUT THE TAB A LITTLE, AND USED SCOTCH BRIGHT TO SAND AWAY THE CORROSION. I THEN LUBE THE BULB WITH PROPER GREASE AND REINSTALL. I HAVE MENTIONED THE PROBLEM TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS OF PEAK KIA (WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED) AND ARAPAHOE KIA, BUT I'M BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NOT AN ISSUE AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS. I ASKED IF THE NEWER MODEL VEHICLES USE ANY TYPE OF UPGRADED OR CHANGED BULB/SOCKET/CONNECTION AND WAS TOLD NOTHING HAS CHANGED BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HAVING ISSUES WITH TURN SIGNALS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN, A BEE FLEW INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT IS ALLERGIC TO BEES AND BEGAN TO PANIC. SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE DOWN A 30 FOOT EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND LABELED AS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT END WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED AND THE DRIVER AIR BAG NEVER FULLY DEPLOYED AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER WRIST, CHEST, AND HAS BRUISES ALL OVER HER BODY. SHE BELIEVES THAT DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE CRASH, THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. CONSUMER HAD PROBLEMS WITH TWO LEASED KIA SEDONA AND WITH THE DEALERSHIP. *NJ THE CONSUMER HEARD AN AWFUL RATTLE NOT LONG AFTER HAVING AN OIL CHANGE. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE RESERVOIR AND OIL WAS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO GET TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THERE WAS NO OIL AND THE FILTER WAS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHIMMY AND SHAKE. THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE CABLE, HOWEVER THE SHIMMY AND SHAKE RETURNED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SECOND SEDONA BLEW A FUSE WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH. THEN, TWO MONTHS LATER THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THIS VEHICLE ALSO RATTLED. *JB
