TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL WOULD SPEW OUT OF THE TANK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED UNDER A MANUFACTURER RECALL FOR THE SAME FAILURE IN 2012. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE EXITING MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME (WHICH IS ON A AN INCLINE AND EXITS ONTO A STATE HIGHWAY) I LOST ALL BRAKING CAPABILITY. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR INTO MY LOCAL GARAGE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED I WAS TOLD THE BRAKE LINES WERE COMPLETELY CORRODED THROUGH WHICH CAUSED THE LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY. WHILE ATTEMPTING THE REPAIRS THE MECHANIC SMELLED GASOLINE FUMES AND FOUND THAT THE FUEL LINES WHERE THEY EXIT THE TANK HAS ALSO CORRODED THROUGH. I STARTED TO NOTICE UNDER BODY CORROSION SEVERAL YEARS AGO WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE BODY ATTACHMENT POINTS ON THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CORRODED AND BECAME DISLODGED. ALL OF THIS CORROSION SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING MUCH SOONER THAN I WOULD EXPECT AND SOONER THAN I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH OTHER VEHICLES I HAVE OWNED MANUFACTURED BY OTHER COMPANIES. *TR

CAR WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS BUT IS NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. PUMPED LESS THAN $25.00 IN THE TANK TWO NIGHTS AGO AND WAS SPRAYED WITH GASOLINE! *TR
REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, KEEP GIVING EVAP CODE, REPLACED EVAP CANISTER SOLENOID WITH KIT, HEADLIGHTS, TAILLIGHTS, CLOCK LOSES TIME, . *TR
I AM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT AGAINST KIA MOTORS WHO WILLINGLY KNOWS OF ISSUES WITH ITS FUEL SYSTEMS IN ALL 2004 KIA SORENTOS. EVEN LOOKING ONLINE YOU SEE THOUSANDS OF KIA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SENSOR GO OUT ON THIS MODEL CAR AFTER THE CARS 100000 WARRANTY, AND THEN KIA CLAIMS IT IS PAST THE WARRANTY THEY HAVE AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS CAUSES THE GAS TO ALWAYS READ INCORRECTLY EVEN WITH A FULL TANK THE CAR READS "E" AND CONTINUOUSLY EVERY DAY HAVE TO PLACE MORE GAS IN CAR FOR FEAR THAT THE "E" MAY COME ON AND LIKE SEVERAL DAYS AGO I WAS LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FROM THIS. WHEN YOU REACH OUT TO KIA THEY OFFER NO HELP STATING THERE ARE NO DOCUMENTED CASES AND WHEN YOU TELL THEM TO LOOK ONLINE, THEY CLAIM THOSE COULD JUST BE ANGRY CUSTOMERS PLACING FALSE INFORMATION. THEN THEY WANT TO HANG BEHIND THE "AS IS" CLAUSE STATING THAT I SHOULD HAVE HAD A MECHANIC CHECK THE CAR OUT, WHICH UNLESS THEY ARE A KIA DEALER AND ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WHICH DID NOT SHOW UP TO SEVERAL DAYS LATER AFTER THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THIS IS KNOWN DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING AS EVIDENCED ONLINE AND FEEL THAT SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO MAKE KIA FIX THESE PROBLEMS WITHOUT CUSTOMERS HAVING TO FORK OVER MORE AND MORE MONEY OVER SOMETHING KIA ITSELF IS RESPONSIBLE FOR AND WILL NOT RECTIFY. *TR
HELLO EVERYONE! WELL UNFORTANTELY I'M ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 KIA SORENTO. I PURCHASED MY KIA FROM GEWEKE KIA IN LODI, CA ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY (FEB. 1, 04). MY FIRST VISIT FOR MY KIA WAS ON FEB. 16TH TO INVESTIGATE WHY I HAD PROBLEMS STARTING MY KIA. I HAD TO KEEP CRANKING IT UNTIL IT WOULD TURN ON THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR WOULD SIT FOR AWHILE SO BASICALLY IT WAS COLD EACH TIME I TRIED TURNING IT ON. WELL GEWEKE ORDER THE FUEL PUMP FOR THE KIA. THEY WERE INFORMED BY KIA TECH THAT WHAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WAS THE FUEL PUMP. WELL AFTER I GOT MY CAR BACK IT WORKED FINE FOR A FEWS WEEKS. THEN AGAIN IN JUNE OR JULY I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK IN BECAUSE I WAS GETTING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE KIA. GEWEKE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ONCE AGAIN. WELL IT WORK GOOD FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS UNTIL THIS WEEKEND. I CALLED GEWEKE ON TUESDAY 9/7 SO I HAD TO LEAVE WORK EARLY AGAIN. THIS TIME GEWEKE PROVIDED ME WITH A RENTAL AND THEY ARE KEEPING MY CAR IN THEIR SHOP FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT GEWEKE AND HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT KIA AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACH THEM. HE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT HIS TECHNICIANS WON'T BE WORKING THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND THAT TOMORROW I WILL HAVE TO RETURN THE RENTAL ANDM PICK UP MY KIA EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT NOT BE FIXED. IF ITS NOT FIXED I WILL HAVE TO DROP OFF THE KIA AT THE SHOP AND GET ANOTHER RENTAL ON THEM. I AM REALLY UNHAPPY WITH MY KIA AND I'M NOT 100 % SATISIFIED. I PURCHASED THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE FOR ONE REASON AND IT WAS BECUASE I WAS TRIED OF HAVING TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I'M THINKING OF FILING A CLAIM ON THE VEHICLE. I GOT STUCK WITH A LEMON.
