The contact attempted to accelerate; however, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact called for an Uber and purchased a gas can and refueled the vehicle. The vehicle was refueled and restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test, and it was determined that there was a crack in the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 186,000.
