The air bag light has come on and will not go out. There was a recall 15V093000 Occupant Classification Module Update. Land Rover Baton Rouge states that they can't diagnose the issue because the vehicle is a 2014. I am afraid that I and/or any passengers riding in the vehicle will get hurt or at worst killed from the malfunction.
The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the passenger’s side air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two occasions and the dealer diagnosed that the air bag sensor had failed. The dealer lubricated electrical wires located under the front passenger’s side seat; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V093000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was unknown.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT. WHILE DRIVING, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG MIGHT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JAGUAR LAND ROVER OF THOUSAND OAKS (LOCATED AT 3601 AUTOMALL DR, THOUSAND OAKS, CA 91362, (805) 267-3600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT FAILED WITH CODE B0020-13, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V093000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,959.
