The dealership tried to sell me this 2016 red Range Rover …. I took it to a mechanic and paid to have it inspected and it has MANY SAFETY CONCERNS. I didn’t buy it, BUT it’s back on their lot for SALE Hoover Volkswagen Lithia Springs 1981 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 (404) 282-3617 Please SAVE A LIFE.. the next person may not have extra money to pay for an inspection and get killed or kill somebody on the street
Vehicle indicator states no more starts in 249 miles due to Quality of Diesel exhaust fluid. Car has been to dealership 3times and continues light/indicator comes on. Only owner of car and always new highest quality blue DEF used for vehicle. Car stopped while I was on a trip and would not restart while I was in a remote area. Dangerous situation stuck in middle of nowhere as female alone. Reviewing literature/blogs related to this issue and unbelievable amount of consumers with same issue. Thousands of dollars spent by reports and no resolution. This is not an issue of a part wearing and not working. It is obviously more involved as faulty equipment. One of the mechanics even advised me to sell the car because it is not “fixable”. We paid over $120,000 for this vehicle to have an issue that locks our car down and is not fixable. We have contacted Range Rover direct more than 3 times with no success. I asked about recalls because so many people are having this issue and they told me I had to report my concern to you. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Driver side door not latching. Unable to keep door closed
There is a fleetwide problem with the DEF system in these vehicles that is well known to the manufacturer yet they have failed to address it. The system frequently produces a DEF error which causes the vehicle to go into a shutdown mode, which can leave the occupant stranded in a dangerous situation.
When the auto start/stop is engaged and the engine is off (e.g. at a stop light), the car will sometimes shut down. It is as if I pressed the button to park the car. The shifter knob retracts but the indicator light stays on “D” for several seconds and I can’t restart the car. It has happened when I’m in an intersection waiting to turn left and has stranded me in the middle of the intersection. I have reported this problem several times to the dealership but they say they can’t reproduce the issue and there are no advisories from Land Rover. I have a suspicion that Land Rover knows about the issue but has no fix for it
The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that upon attempting to shift to reverse(R), the gear shifter nob would not respond and remained stuck in park(P). The contact stated that after an extended period, the gear shifter nob responded as needed; however, the failure reoccurred. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
Persistent recurring “Incorrect DEF quality, no restart in 250 miles” issues, the same problem has occurred six times since October of last year. Dealer could not completely solve this issue.
At the end of May, about 10 days after getting my car serviced at the Land Rover Manhattan location middle of May, I headed to a short trip with my family. An hour into our trip, I could hear horrible noises coming from the engine, as if the gears were grinding with the engine shaking drastically. As I tried to pull to the side of the highway to safety, smoke started coming out of the front of my car. I got my family out of the car immediately and called roadside assistance. I went to inspect my car while we waited, and I noticed that there was oil all over the front (and rear) bumpers, as if all of the oil had spilt while I was driving. This was extremely strange since there was no light on my dashboard and my car had recently been serviced. It has been a month and a half since the incident and I have yet to get a clear idea of what exactly went wrong and I have yet to receive back my car.
Steering: linkages: knuckle: spindle: arm is cracking. Air bag has had issues and the light stays on.
The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that the vehicle's doors fail to lock when activated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who informed them that their failure was related to many recalls for the year/make/model relating to the door locks. The contact was unable to identify the exact recall however, the VIN was not included in any recalls. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed the VIN was not included in any recalls. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

WHEN THIS HAPPENS I USUALLY CATCH IT BEFORE I EXIT THE VEHICLE. ADMITTEDLY IT HAS HAPPENED AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN RUN OVER BY MY OWN CAR. THIS IS A HUGELY DANGEROUS ISSUE.
AFTER DRIVING ALL DAY ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3 2017. IT CUT OFF WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO DROP MY FRIEND DAUGHTER AT HER HOUSE. I TURN IT OFF THE ENGINE THEN START MY TRUCK AGAIN BUT WOULDN'T COME OUT OFF PARK. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND MY TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. TWO DAYS LATER THE MECHANIC CALLED ME AND I WAS TOLD HE HAS TO REPLACE A PART AND IT WAS A ELECTRIC SHORTAGE. MY TRUCK IS ONLY A YEAR OLD AND IT WAS VERY SCARY AND NOT DEPENDABLE VEHICLE.

I HAVE A RANGE ROVER EVOQUE 2016. WHEN MY CAR IS FACING FORWARD ON A DOWNWARD SLOPE IN REVERSE GEAR, THE CAR WILL ROLL FORWARD. WHEN THE CAR IS ON A DOWNWARD BACKWARD SLOPE FACING UPHILL IT WILL ROLL BACKWARDS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT LAND ROVER CHANGED THE SOFTWARE IN THE 2016 VEHICLE WHICH RESULTS IN THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE MAKES THE CAR INHERENTLY UNSAFE IN THESE SITUATIONS. JAGUAR/LAND ROVER DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS TO BE A FAULT BECAUSE IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND IS, THEREFORE, PART OF THE OPERATION OF THIS MODEL.
WHILE DAD WAS LOADING CAR FOR VACATION, 3 YEAR OLD GRANDSON SITTING ON RUNNING BOARD WHEN IT RETRACTED. TINY FINGERS NARROWLY ESCAPED AS RETRACTION OF BOARDS HAVE NO SAFETY CLEARANCE.
DASHBOARD DIMMER SWITCH DOES NOT WORK. MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO READ THE SPEEDOMETER IN THE DAYLIGHT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. DEALER STATES THAT'S THE WAY IT WAS DESIGNED.
The fuel tank cradles have deteriorated exposing the fuel tanks, it is a known issue with these vehicles making the fuel tanks vulnerable to punctures and tears.
