WHILE BACKING INTO GARAGE THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACKWARDS STRIKING SEVERAL ARTICLES STORED IN THE GARAGE, THE VEHICLE SUFFERED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE REAREND AND LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL, THE DRIVER SUFFERED NECK AND LOWER BACK DISCOMFORT BUT REQUIRED NO MEDICAL ATTENTION, THIS PROBLEM OCCURED ONCE BEFORE WHILE BACKING INTO GARAGE BUT WITHOUT INCIDENT. VEHICLE ROLLS BACKWARD WHEN PLACED IN THE DRIVE POSITION ACTING LIKE IT'S IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. *SLC
ON SEPTEMBER 7 WITH THE SERVICEMANGER AND MECHANIC TESTING THE VEHICLE AT 55 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IT DOWNSHIFTED FROM 4TH TO 1ST GEAR, STARTED JERKING, AND MOVING ON IT'S ON AT A SLOW UNCONTROLLED PACE BY COMPUTER ONLY. DRIVER HAD NO CONTROL OVER ACCELERATION OR DECELERATION. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST SIX TIME IN HEAVY TRAFFIC BARELY ESCAPED DEATH BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LEXUS PLANS TO REPLACE THE COMPUTER AND THE TRANSMISSION AND GIVE IT BACK TO ME TUESDAY, SEPT. 12. I HAVE A FEAR OF DRIVING THAT CAR AND DON'T WISH TO TAKE IT BACK. PLEASE HELP. THE CAR HAS A FACTORY DEFECT THAT LEXUS DOES NOT WANT PUBLICIZED. I DON'T WANT TO DIE IN THAT CAR, NOR CAUSE SOMEONE ELSE TO BE KILLED.

VEHICLE FAILS TO START. ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF. DEALER UNSURE OF PROBLEM WITH CAR. REPLACED SENSORS, BUT NOW WANTS TO REPLACE ECU. VEHICLE FAILS TO START INTERMITTENTLY. *AK
ENGINE FAILED THREE TIMES IN TRAFFIC WITHOUT NOTICE. CAR STALLS, ENGINE VIBRATES, WILL NOT ACCELERATE, HAS BEEN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP ON ONE OCCASION.
WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE IN USE AT FAST SPEED VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE. VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE BEFORE ACCELERATING. BEEN IN CONTACT WITH DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC PROBLEMS ON VEHICLE WERE NORMAL. *AK ALSO A CRACKING NOISE IN THE HEATER, SOMETIME. *YH

2000 LEXUS ES300 ENGINE BEGAN LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 65-70 MPH. *TS WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION BUT THE TACHOMETER WAS SWINGING WILDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE FACILITY WHO INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *NM
REARVIEW MIRROR DOES NOT MOVE, RESULTING IN POOR VISIBILITY. THE DRIVER IS NOT ABLE TO SEE OUT OF 25% OF THE REAR WINDOW ON THE LEFT SIDE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
FRONT BRAKES WORE PREMATURELY AT 12,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND TO THIS DATE THE COMPLAINT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *AK
THE VISIBILITY IN THIS CAR IS BEYOND UNSAFE. I CANNOT SEE USING THE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS. THEY DON'T MEET THE STANDARD. I GUARANTEE THAT. THEY SHINE EVERYWHERE BUT THE MANDATORY 700 YARDS. THEY BARELY MEET 100 YARDS. THIS CAR WAS JUST PURCHASED. I AM SCARED
CONSUMER IS COMPLAINING OF THE INVISIBILITY OF THE RED GAUGE INDICATOR NEEDLES. THE COLOR OF THE NEEDLES AGAINST A BLACK BACKGROUND MAKES THEM IMPOSSIBLE TO READ. *JG
