I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS (ABOUT 1.5-2 YRS) TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE RECALL BUT DEALER JUST SAYS NOTHING CAN BE DONE UNTIL AIRBAGS ARE RECEIVED. IN ADDITION, MY DASHBOARD HAS BEEN MELTING FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS AND NOW HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE GLARE BLOCKS MY LINE OF VISION DURING THE DAY AND AT NIGHT DUE TO THE REFLECTION OF THE LIGHTS.I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS LEXUS CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT I AM JUST TOLD THAT 2010 IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO TAKE AN ACCURATE PICTURE BECAUSE THE GLARE/LINE OF VISION BLOCKAGE IS HARD TO SEE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD MELTED. AS A RESULT, WHEN SUNLIGHT STRUCK IT CAUSED A GLARE AND OBSTRUCTED THE CONTACT'S VIEW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
MY TAKATA RECALL ON MY PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS RECALLED. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE SINCE MY FORMER 2004 LEXUS AIRBAG WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. SO I DID NOT DRIVE IT FOR 3 YRS KNOWING MY HUSBAND COULD NOT RIDE IN THE FRONT SURE TO BEING HANDICAPPED, FROM A STROKE, HE COULD NOT GET INTO THE BACK SEATS. I OWNED A 2004 LEXUS WAS TOTALED IN 2010 AND NEITHER AIRBAG DEFLATED EITHER .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 LEXUS ES350. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT FELL ASLEEP AND CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SCHULTZ FORD W HAVERSTRAW, INC. LOCATED AT N ROUTE 9W US-9W, WEST HAVERSTRAW, NY 10993; (845) 947-2500 WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, BUT THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
AFTER 2.5 YEARS OF SATISFACTORY OPERATION, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT BEGAN TO INTERMITTENTLY CHANGE BETWEEN "ON" AND "OFF" WITH MY 100 LB. WIFE AS THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER (SAME WIFE, SAME WEIGHT WITHIN +/- 3 LBS,), LEXUS DEALER TRIED 2 RECALIBRATING WITH NO SUCCESS. LEXUS CUSTOMER SUPPORT SAYS SENSORS ARE DESIGNED TO DETECT ADULTS WEIGHING 84 LBS OR MORE. "[XXX]" SAID IT REALLY DIDN'T MATTER BECAUSE OF PROTECTION FROM THE SEAT BELT, OTHER AIR BAGS (SIDE) AND "STURDY CONSTRUCTION". TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED BY DEPRESSING THE PUSH-TO-START BUTTON. WITH THE BRAKES DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME STUCK TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
REAR WINDOW DISTORTS OTHER CAR HEADLIGHT AT NIGHT AND IS VERY DISTRACTING, ESPECIALLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. IT APPEARS THAT THE SLANT OF THE WINDOW AND THE DEFROSTING WIRES ARE SET TO CLOSE AND THIS IS WHAT CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. LATER MODELS, THIS IS CORRECTED BY FEWER WIRES WITH MORE SEPARATION. *TR
LOCATION: 605 NORTH, BEFORE DEL AMO BLVD. EXIT. AT 5 PM ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2011 I WAS IN THE EXTREME LEFT LANE OF THE FREEWAY, NEXT TO THE CARPOOL LANE. A LIGHT GRAY TRUCK (WITH FLATBED) SWERVED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AT A VERY HIGH SPEED. THERE WERE JUST A COUPLE FEET OF DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TRUCK AND MY CAR. I SLAMMED MY BRAKES TO AVOID REAR-ENDING THE TRUCK. A CAR BEHIND ME HIT MY CAR FROM REAR RIGHT FORCING ME INTO THE CAR POOL LANE. THAT'S WHEN A VAN THAT WAS IN THE CAR POOL HIT MY CAR FIRST ON THE REAR LEFT DOOR AND THEN RUBBING AGAINST MY CAR AND DELIVERING A HUGE IMPACT ON THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE IMPACT WAS HEAD-ON AND IT DID THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW WAS SMASHED COMPLETELY. THE FLYING BROKEN PIECES OF GLASS FLEW AND DELIVERED SEVERAL INJURIES INCLUDING BLEEDING ON MY LEFT ELBOW, LEFT HAND NEAR THE WEDDING RING FINGER, ON MY HEAD AND ON MY RIGHT HAND. 2. MY CAR WAS THROWN OUT OF CONTROL ACROSS ALL THE RIGHT LANES OF THE FREEWAY. LUCKILY ALL OTHER CARS IN THE ADJACENT LANES HAD STOPPED BY THEN AND NO OTHER CAR HIT MY CAR WHEN IT WAS BEING THROWN OVER TO THE RIGHT MOST LANES OF THE FREEWAY. WHEN MY CAR ULTIMATELY STOPPED, IT WAS HALF WAY IN THE 3RD AND 4TH LANES AND WAS FACING EAST WARDS AND WAS PERPENDICULAR TO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC DIRECTION. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS ACTIVATED. THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH SIDE AIR BAGS AND CURTAIN AIR BAGS. NONE OF THEM DEPLOYED. I SUSTAINED INJURIES ON BOTH HANDS AND FACE. ALSO, I RECEIVED INTERNAL INJURIES IN NECK AND SHOULDER AREA. *TR
THE 2010 LEXUS E35 I WAS A PASSENGER IN WAS REAR ENDED IN A MULTI-CAR ACCIDENT ON JUNE 11, 2011, ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 80 IN ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY. THERE WERE THREE CARS INVOLVED IN THIS COLLISION AND THE LEXUS I WAS RIDING IN WAS THE ONLY CAR WHOSE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. AS RESULT I SUSTAINED A SEVERE CASE OF WHIPLASH INVOLVING MY RIGHT SHOULDER AND ARM FROM WHICH I CONTINUE TO SUFFER ALMOST CONSTANTLY DAILY DISCOMFORT THREE YEARS LATER. THIS INJURY WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY AVOIDED HAD THESE TAKATA AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AS THEY WERE INTENDED TO DO AS RESULT OF DIRECT IMPACT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. I URGE THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD TO COMMENCE A ROBUST AND VIGOROUS CRIMINAL INQUIRY INTO THESE FAILED TAKATA AIRBAGS THAT LEXUS INSTALLED ON THEIR VEHICLES DURING 2010. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS ES350 EQUIPPED WITH YOKOHAMA TIRES. SIZE 245/40/R18. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH OVER A ROAD DAMAGE, THE TIRE EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY REPLACED THE TIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO ADDITIONAL TIRES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRE AND THE VEHICLE WAS 6,000.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A LEXUS 2010 ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, CAUSING HER TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK, KNEE, ANKLES, LEGS AND SPINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BY AN ENGINEER. THE FAILURE WAS LOCATED AT THE MAIN COMPUTER BRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE SPEED CONTROL RECALL HOWEVER, THE DEALER DID NOT PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,041.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS ES350 WITH 15,600 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND RELEASING HIS FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DECREASE IN SPEED. TAKATA RECALL - NOTIFIED OF RECALL NO 16V-340 LAST APRIL. LEXUS DEALER ADVISES AS OF 9/20/2016 THEY STILL HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW OR WHEN THEY WILL FIX DEFECT AND UPON MT INQUIRY - THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE DEFECT PART.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF BY A KEYLESS SYSTEM, THE ENGINE WAS VERY QUIET; THEREFORE; THE DRIVER LEFT THE ENGINE RUNNING FOR OVER FOUR HOURS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A KEYLESS SYSTEM WAS VERY DANGEROUS. HE FEELS A KEY SYSTEM WOULD BE LESS LIKELY TO CAUSE THE PROBLEM OF LEAVING THE ENGINE ON. THE VIN WASN'T AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH DUE TO THE INCORRECT DRIVING DIRECTIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFUSED TO ACCEPT FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRING THE GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM. BRAKE IS HARD, AND CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING SIGN APPEARS. SOS SAFETY FEATURE OFTEN DOES NOT OPERATE DURING THESE INSTANCES. FIRST OCCURRED 6/28/2010. ROADSIDE CALLED-REQUIRED BATTERY JUMP. DEALER EVALUATED CAR- CLAIMED NO ISSUES WITH CAR OR BATTERY. SECOND OCCURRENCE: 7/6/10. ROADSIDE CALLED. DEALER EVALUATED CAR FOR TWO WEEKS. THIRD OCCURRENCE HAPPENED WHILE AT DEALER. LEXUS TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. TECHNICIAN THOUGHT THE CAR WAS NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEY. BATTERY FOR KEYS REPLACED. FOURTH OCCURRENCE- 8/31/10. ROADSIDE CALLED. BROUGHT TO DEALER. CLAIMS THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH CAR, BUT CANNOT PROVIDE EXPLANATION WHY THIS IS OCCURRING OR GIVE ANY GUIDELINES TO PREVENT THE SITUATION FROM OCCURRING AGAIN. IN ALL INSTANCES THE CAR WAS NEVER COLD, SO BATTERY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ISSUE. FAILURE WAS REPLICATED BY DEALER, BUT DEALER UNABLE TO FIND ADEQUATE RESOLUTION TO FAILURE. MY 2010 ES 350 THE SIDE MIRRORS FOG UP WHEN IT'S RAINING AND THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW THE 50 DEGREE RANGE AND A SLIGHT DROP OR INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE BETWEEN TRAVELING POINTS, LIKE DRIVING FROM A LOWER TEMPERATURE NORTHERN VIRGINIA INTO A HIGHER HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE TODAY (4/5/11) IN WASHINGTON DC WEATHER. I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING OUT OF THE TWO MIRRORS TO CHANGE LANES ON THE HIGHWAY, A VERY UNSAFE AND HAZARDOUS CONDITION TRYING TO LOWER THE WINDOW IN THE RAIN AND WIPE THE DRIVE SIDE MIRROR, DRIVE, AND HAVING TO REPEAT 5 MINUTES LATER. 2010 LEXUS ES 350. CONSUMER STATES HE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IT IS SITTING IN HIS GARAGE. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED AS A RETIRED ENGINEER, HE BELIEVED THE PROBLEM GOES WAY BEYOND THE GAS PEDAL STICKING. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS ES350. WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY THE ACCELERATOR STUCK AND SHE COLLIDED INTO A SNOW BANK. THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE FACE, MOUTH AND BODY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALLED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,053.
1. AS I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT, I WANTED TO MOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE BRAKE. THE TOP OF MY SNEAKER GOT CAUGHT IN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BRAKE PREVENTING ME FROM BEING ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO FREE MY FOOT BY PULLING IT SIDEWAYS AND BACK TO THE GAS PEDAL CAUSING ME TO MOMENTARILY HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND MOVING THE CAR FORWARD TOWARD THE INTERSECTION. SINCE I HAD BEGUN TO SLOW DOWN FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME, NO ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE. 2. JAN 31-A FEW DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I CALLED LEXUS OF AVENTURA 3. FEB 2 THEY CAME & PICKED UP THE CAR. I TOLD THEM TO PUT IN WRITING WHAT THEY FOUND AND WHAT THEY DID TO CORRECT IT. THEIR REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT WHEN HE TEST DROVE THE CAR HIS FOOT GOT STUCK IN THE SAME WAY AS MINE & THAT IT HAPPENED TO 3 OTHER VEHICLES TESTED. FURTHER, HE OFFERED TO COMPENSATE ME FOR MY INCONVENIENCE BY A) FILLING OUR TANK UP WITH GAS, B) GIVING US 10,000 MILES SERVICE @ NO CHARGE AS WELL AS AN INTERIOR CLEANING AND DETAILING. IN OUR PHONE CONVERSATIONS DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS, HE INCREASED HIS OFFERS AND TOLD ME THAT THE FLOOR MAT HAD BEEN REPLACED IN MY CAR. I ASKED THAT ALL REPAIRS & OFFERS BE PUT IN WRITING. FEB 5 I CONTACTED LEXUS OF AMERICA & ON FEB 8 A REPRESENTATIVE OF LEXUS SOUTHERN CONTACTED ME. WE HAVE BEEN EXCHANGING PHONE CALLS & LETTERS SINCE THEN. *TR
THIS CONCERNS MY 2010 LEXUS ES 350, ACQUIRED NEW ON NOV. 30, 2009. ON1/23/10 I FOUND THE DRIVER FLOOR MAT LOOSE. UNDERNEATH WERE THE TWO LIGHT PLASTIC CLIPS, ONE OF WHICH (THE ONE ON THE GAS-PEDAL SIDE) WAS OUT OF ITS SOCKET ON THE FLOOR AND WAS LYING FREE ON THE FLOOR. WITH CONSIDERABLE DIFFICULTY I WAS ABLE TO RE-INSERT THE FLIMSY FLANGES OF THE LOOSE CLIP INTO ITS SOCKET AND THEN TO SECURE THE MAT TO BOTH CLIPS. OTHER THAN A VACUUMING BY THE ATTENDANT IN A CAR-WASH ESTABLISHMENT 1/16/10 NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE TO THE MAT SINCE THE ACQUISITION OF THE CAR. THERE WAS NO ADVERSE CONSEQUENCE OF THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE, BUT MY CONCERN IS: LEXUS CRASHES HAVE BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO LOOSE FLOOR MATS JAMMING THE GAS PEDAL. IT APPEARS THAT THE MAT STILL COMES LOOSE WITHOUT ANY INCORRECT ACTION ON THE PART OF THE DRIVER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS ES 350. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. ON ONE OCCASION, HE ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AT A GAS STATION BUT THE ENGINE SURGED. HE WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THEY WOULD PERFORM AN AT-HOME INSPECTION OF HIS VEHICLE. HE HAD NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 700. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 500.

CONSUMER STATES UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE ENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL, BUT DUE TO SPEED RESTRICTIONS WHERE HE WAS DRIVING, HE APPLIED THE BRAKE AND DROVE TO THE TOP. ONCE ON LEVEL GROUND AND WITH A CLEAR LANE AHEAD, HE ENGAGED RESUME. TO HIS SURPRISE THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD WITH SUCH FORCE THAT HE FELT HE HAD BEEN PUSHED BACK INTO THE SEAT VERY HARD. HE APPLIED THE BRAKE AND DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE DEALERS EXPLANATION WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS POWERFUL. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THERE WAS POOR VISIBILITY IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. HE STATED HE IS 5" 10' TALL, BUT SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT, HE COULD NOT SEE THE BACK OF THE CAR; THE END OF THE TRUNK LID, OR THE TAIL LIGHTS. THE REAR HEAD RESTS COVERED MUCH OF THE CORNERS OF THE REAR WINDOW AND THE MIDDLE WAS ALSO BLOCKED BY THE BRAKE LIGHT. ALSO, JUST AFTER THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT, THE COVER OVER THE TRUNK WAS SLANTED AT AN ANGLE UPWARD, AND HE COULD NOT SEE WHERE THE TRUNK ENDED. AN OBJECT OR A CHILD WHO IS 4" 5' TALL COULD NOT BE SEEN UNTIL HE DROVE AWAY. THE DOOR MIRROR SHOWED THE HANDLE OF THE REAR PASSENGER'S DOOR, AFTER WHICH SINCE THE BODY WAS SLANTED INWARDLY, THERE WAS NO WAY TO SEE THE TAIL LIGHTS AND THUS GAUGE WHERE THE CAR ENDED. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS FORCED TO BACK AWAY VERY SLOWLY IN PARKING LOTS. ON ROADS AFTER A SNOWFALL, THE VEHICLE SKIDDED AND FISH-TAILED UN-LIKE AN ORDINARY REAR-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE. IT KEPT GOING, AND DRIVING BECAME UNEASY. DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF DRIVING, ANYTIME THE HEAT WAS ON, THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC COMING FROM THE VENTS. THE PASSENGER'S DOOR DID NOT FIT THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THEY WERE SNUG AT THE TOP, BUT WHEN THEY REACH THE DOOR HANDLE, THERE WAS AT LEAST ONE/THREE OF AN INCH GAP BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE BODY.
