There are 2 owner-reported lighting complaints for the 2008 Lexus ISin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
From my past research I’ve noticed there were recalls about the headlight ballast flashing, and getting replaced my car has this problem but never had a recall. The rear view mirror is fading and turning black making me not able to see. And all of my interior is becoming shiny and brittle making it hard to see out of my vehicle at anytime of day or night
MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT THE HID HEADLIGHTS WILL NOT WORK. INITIALLY THE PROBLEM BEGAN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT. THEN I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND DISCOVERED IT IS ACTUALLY EXTREMELY COMMON ONLINE. IN MY AREA MANY LEXUS CARS FROM IS250 TO GS HAVE THE SIMILAR PROBLEM. THE SITUATION ESCALATED WHEN MY DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT STOPPED LIGHTING ALSO. THIS REALLY IS UNSETTLING BECAUSE I NOW HAVE EXTREMELY LOW VISIBILITY AT NIGHT AND IN ADDITION I COMMUTE TO SCHOOL THROUGH A DARK UNLIGHTED CORNER THAT COULD LEAD TO A CRASH IF THE OTHER CAR DOES NOT SEE ME. I DID CONTACT LEXUS BUT THEIR RESOLUTION SEEMS RATHER FOUL PLAY. MOST OF THEIR IS250 AND GS HAVE THE PROBLEM BUT THEY WOULD FIX IT ONLY FOR ABOUT 1,000 DOLLARS PER HEADLIGHT. I AND MULTIPLE OTHER CONSUMERS ARE NOT JUST GOING TO PAY FOR THE HIGH PRICE FOR SOMETHING CLEARLY AT LEXUS'S FAULT. ALONG WITH THE HEADLIGHTS MY SUSPENSION SEEM INCREASINGLY LOUD AND SQUEAKY WHEN I MAKE A TURN. IT IS A LUXURY CAR AND BEING IT I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED. IT SHOULD BE RATHER QUIET. I TRULY, AM A DISPLEASED CUSTOMER AND I FEEL THAT LEXUS IS VERY UNRESPONSIVE TOWARD THEIR PROBLEMS. *TR
