TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED EXTREMELY FAST. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARK POSITION IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT 55-60 MPH ON WEST VERGINA TURNPIKE ON 2/15/16 ON A 28-32 DEGREE DAY, HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND REALIZED THAT SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OR ANY BRIDGE OR OVERPASS NEARBY. FORTUNATELY THE SCREEN WAS CLOSED SO TAMPERED GLASS DID NOT FALL ON THE DRIVER. I AM CERTAIN NOTHING HIT THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT, TRACTION WARNING LIGHT, AND THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE CYLINDER CANISTER CONTAINED FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HAD A FUEL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE GASOLINE OVERFLOWED INTO THE FUEL TANK CANISTER. SINCE REPLACEMENT CAN INTERMITTENLY SMELL GAS BUT DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT SMELL UNEXPLAINED EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE IN WHICC DEALERSHIP CANNOT HEAR, AND CANNOT MAINTAIN AN ALIGNMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER LEXUS OF CHATTANOOGA (5800 LEE HWY CHATTANOOGA TN) HOWEVER THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE ON ITS OWN. I WAS AWAKEN BY THE POLICE WHO SAID THAT MY PARKED CAR IS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE CONFIRMED THAT THE FIRE STARTED ON ITS OWN FROM THE ENGINE AND THERE IS NO LARCENY. THEY MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A VEHICLE RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEN I SEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THE RECALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN THE SNOW, THE WIPERS WERE UNABLE TO REMOVE THE SNOW FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO SNOW AND SALT ACCUMULATION. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE SNOW AND SALT ACCUMULATION HAD CLOGGED THE WIPER FLUID NOZZLE, PREVENTING THE ABILITY TO SPRAY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID ONTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE FAILURE IMPAIRED THE DRIVER'S VISION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (LEXUS OF SMITHTOWN, 700 MIDDLE COUNTRY RD., ST. JAMES ,NY) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
THERE WAS NO DISCERNIBLE EVENT THAT CAUSED THE TIRE ON THE LEXUS RX350 WITH LESS THAN 4000 MILES TO BLOW. WE TURNED OFF RT 113 INTO A LOWES SHOPPING CENTER AFTER WAITING ABOUT 2 MINUTES FOR A LIGHT. ON MAKING THE LEFT HAND TURN THE TIRE BLEW. I PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT AND CALLED LEXUS ROAD SERVICE. THEY DON'T WARRANT TIRES ON A NEW CAR SO WE TOOK IT TO SEARS/KMART, AN AUTHORIZED MICHELIN DEALER. THEY OFFERED A 50% REBATE CLAIMING-TO THE MICHELIN OPERATOR- THAT IT WAS A "POT-HOLE" DAMAGE AND NOT A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. THEY SAID WITH THE NEWER CARS WE COULD HAVE HIT A POT-HOLE AND NOT EVEN KNOWN IT! *TR
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR UNLOCKED AND OPENED SLIGHTLY, THE DOOR SENSOR BEGAN TO CHIME AND THE RED DOOR AJAR SYMBOL DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD. THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS IN THE CAR, ONLY THE DRIVER, WHO HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR MORE THAN ONE HOUR, WITH NO REASON TO TOUCH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. *TR
WAS DRIVING AT APPROX. 70 MPH ON HIGHWAY 71 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD CRASH. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN SIGHT AROUND MY VEHICLE SO I THOUGHT A TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE AND GETTING BACK INSIDE, I REALIZED THE SUNROOF GLASS HAD EXPLODED. I DIDN'T REALIZE IT IMMEDIATELY AS THE COVER WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME, THANKFULLY. AS I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 5 DAYS BEFORE, I CALLED THE DEALER, WHO RESPONDED THAT I MUST HAVE BEEN HIT BY A ROCK. AS THERE WERE NO VEHICLES AROUND FOR MILES, I AM CONFIDENT IT WAS NOT A ROCK BUT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. FURTHER, I WAS DEFINITELY NOT PLEASED WITH HOW THE DEALERSHIP HANDLED CONSIDERING THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 300 MILES ON IT. I AM JUST NOW SUBMITTING AS I DIDN'T KNOW WHO TO CONTACT OTHER THAN THE DEALER UNTIL I SAW A SEGMENT ON GMA JUST YESTERDAY.
