BRAND NEW BATTERY IN CAR. COME OUT TO START CAR. BATTERY IS DEAD. MY MECHANIC HAS CAR FOR THREE DAYS. HE TRIED TO FIND A SHORT. HE INSTRUCTED ME TO MAKE SURE ALL DOORS ARE COMPLETELY CLOSED AND LIGHTS ARE ALL OUT. THIS WAS AFTER MULTIPLE DEAD BATTERIES. I MADE SURE OF ALL THE ABOVE AND STILL CAME OUT TO DEAD BATTERIES. I MANUALLY TURN OFF THE LIGHTS AS I CAME OUT TO THEM BEING ON AFTER I HAD WATCHED THEM DIM AND GO OUT. I REPLACED THE NEW BATTERY WITH ANOTHER NEW BATTERY AND I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE SIDE STREET AND MY CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE. READS ETC .START UP WILL MOVE ABOUT 1/4 OF THE BLOCK AND DOES IT AGAIN. HAD TO KEEP TURNING IT OFF AND ON TO GET HOME.ONCE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN THIS IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR LS. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. HAVE NOT GOT MY CAR FIX BECAUSE IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. *TR
MY 2004 LINCOLN LS GOES INTO "ETC ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE" WHICH DOESN'T ALLOW THE CAR TO ACCELERATE ANYMORE AND CAUSES THE CAR TO SLOWLY SLOW DOWN. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ON MY CAR. PROBABLY ONCE EVERY THREE MILES I DRIVE ON AVERAGE BUT IT HAPPENS MOST WHEN THE CAR IS ACCELERATING. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACED IGNITION COILS AND THE THROTTLE BODY AND NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP. I AM SCARED THIS CAR IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED THE NEXT TIME I MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY. I NOW DON'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT IS JUST SIMPLY NOT SAFE FOR ME OR THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. *TR
I AM CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP CANNOT DETERMINE HOW TO FIX IT. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR WILL STALL. ONCE I COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I TURN IT OFF AND RE-CRANK IT. IT WILL CRANK AND THEN I CAN GO AGAIN. IT CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP HAS JUST REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE ORDERED ANOTHER PART TO TRY THAT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PEDAL (PCM). THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 85,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE EMERGENCY LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWS HOT AIR FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE VENTS AND COLD AIR FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THESE TWO FAILURES WERE RELATED TO ONE ANOTHER. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WOULD COST $100 TO REPLACE THE PART AND $600 FOR LABOR. THE CONTACT DOES NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE AND REALIZED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED. WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF FOR 24-36 HOURS, THE BATTERY DIES. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE STILL CONTINUED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,400.
THE VERY FIRST TIME MY 2004 LINCOLN LS BROKE DOWN ON ME WAS WHEN I STOPPED FOR GAS IN FEBRUARY 2006 AND IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 12,000 MILES ON IT. AFTER GETTING GAS I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CAR STARTED. THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER, BUT WOULD NOT START. I MADE SURE THE GAS CAP WAS ON PROPERLY. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE CAR STARTED WITH NO AVAIL. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT A PVC HOSE CAME LOSE AND THAT'S WHY THE CAR WOULDN'T START. THE SECOND TIME I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 LINCOLN LS WITH APPROXIMATELY 16,700 MILES ON IT, WAS ON SATURDAY, JULY 1ST, 2006. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM RUNNING ERRANDS. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 9 BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOME GOING ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE LINCOLN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON ME. I COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD, I GO NO RESPONSE AT ALL FROM THE CAR. I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND ASKED FOR HIM TO CALL A TOW TRUCK THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER MY HUSBAND ARRIVED ON SCENE AND ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AND THE CAR STARTED AT WHICH TIME WE CALLED AN CANCELLED THE TOW TRUCK. ON MONDAY, WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED IT, AND LET THE SERVICE WRITER KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. WE EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE LINCOLN NOT STARTING. WE TOLD HIM THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME, THAT THE DEALERSHIP THAT WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CLAIMED THAT IS WAS BECAUSE OF THE PVC HOSE THAT HAD CAME OFF, HE TOLD US THAT WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE CAR NOT TO START. AS OF THURSDAY, JULY 6TH, WE WERE INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE CAR AND WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AT 25-30 MILES PER HOUR IT WAS DIFFICULT ENOUGH TO TRY AND GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR HAD LOST ALL POWER. *NM
THE HORN ON MY CAR DOES NOT BLOW AT TIMES. THE DEALER SAID TO SIMPLY PUSH HARDER. DEALER CHECKED ANOTHER SIMILAR CAR ON THE LOT AND SAID IT WAS THE SAME. WHEN THE HORN IS NEEDED IN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO THINK "PUSH THE HORN HARDER". MY CAR IS NEW AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.*AK
