TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 LINCOLN MKX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE TO REGAIN NORMAL FUNCTION, BUT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAYAGUEZ FORD CALLED MARGINAL MAYAGUEZ, PUERTO RICO, 00681; PHONE 787-805-3673. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE ENGINE PURGE VALVE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE PURGE VALVE AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TT *AS
DIVERSIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON EVEN WHEN DOOR CLOSED, WHEN VEHICLE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND TO THE ACCELATOR- NO POWER TO THE VEHICLE AND A "WRENCH" APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD. POWER TRAIN PROBLEM. TAKE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR LINCOLN DEALER. THE CAR STOPPED AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. IT SEEMED TO BE CHOKING THEN STOPPED. TOWED IT TO DEALER - THEY RAN DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND FOUND "NOTHING WRONG WITH IT". TWO WEEKS LATER SAME THING HAPPENED. FORTUNATELY I WAS ON A CITY STREET AGAIN AND ABLE TO MOVE OVER. HAD THIS HAPPENED N THE FREEWAY I AM SURE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. DEALER AGAIN COULD FIND NOTHING AGAIN. APPARENTLY THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS ARE NOT EFFECTIVE. THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE "THROTTLE". THAT "MIGHT" BE THE PROBLEM. I AM NOW VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND STAY ALWAYS IN THE RIGHT LANE JUST IN CASE IT DECIDES TO DIE AGAIN. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE NOW. APPARENTLY LINCOLN EXPECTS AN OWNER TO KEEP REPLACING PARTS - EVEN THOUGH THEY MIGHT NOT BE DEFECTIVE - AND HOPE EVENTUALLY THE CORRECT PART IS REPLACED. I AM WONDERING ABOUT ALL THE ELECTRONIC "PROGRESS" WE HAVE SUPPOSEDLY MADE, WHY DEFECTIVE PARTS CANNOT BE ACCURATELY DETECTED. WAY TOO MUCH UNNECESSARY FUNCTIONS ON VEHICLES - CREATING TOO MANY CHANCES FOR ELECTRICAL ERRORS. WHERE DOES IT END? THE CAR HAS ONLY 37,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS VERY RELIABLE - UNTIL NOW- NOW IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY - EACH REPLACEMENT PART, I AM SURE, WILL BE COSTLY - THIS IS GOING TO BE A GUESSING GAME FROM NOW ON.
WHEN SHIFTING INTO "PARK" THERE IS A WARNING THAT APPEARS ON THE DASH AS "SHIFT TO PARK". THE "P" INDICATOR LIGHT WILL NOT ILLUMINATE AND DOES NOT ENGAGE SAFETY FEATURES ASSOCIATED WITH PLACING THE VEHICLE IN "PARK". THIS ALSO CAUSES THE DISPLAY TO STAY ON AND DRAINS THE BATTERY IF NOT CORRECTED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ADDRESSED ON TSB 15-0047 BUT SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL AS IT COULD LEAD TO A STRANDED MOTORIST.
MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AT 68K MILES 7/2017, PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR BUT CAR DID STOP.11/2017 ABS PUMP LEAKED, CAUSING CAR TO LOSE BRAKE FLUID. WAS CLOSE TO DEALERSHIP, WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IN WITH LIMITED BRAKING CAPACITY.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE WHICH CAUSES WARNING LIGHT ON DASH TO LIGHT, SHIFT INTO PARK LIGHT TO COME ON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON. I COULD LIVE WITH THE ANNOYANCE OF THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND SHIFT TO PARK LIGHT TO COME ON BUT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN AND COULD STRAND MY WIFE AND I ON THE ROAD. THE FORD DEALER IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ONGOING DEFECT IN NEARLY ALL THEIR SUVS. RATHER THAN FIXING THE PROBLEM (WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AT THE FORD COMPANY) THEY CHARGE $600.00 TO $1200.00 TO REPLACE THE SENSOR AT THE DEALERSHIPS. THE IDEA THAT THEY (FORD) ARE CONTINUING TO KNOWINGLY SELL VERY EXPENSIVE CARS WITH DEFECTIVE PARTS IS A TERRIBLE DISSERVICE TO THE PUBLIC. THIS ISSUE OCCURS EVERY TIME I OPEN AND SHUT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR.
BLIND SPOT SENSOR FAILURE - IN HEAVY RAIN DRIVING I GET A DASH DISPLAY INFORMING ME THE BLIND SPOT FEATURE IS NOT WORKING. REF. TO MANUAL. BOTH SIDE VIEW MIRROR YELLOW LITES STAY ON. OF ALL TIMES I WANT MY BLIND SPOT OPTION NOT WORKING. MUMS THE WORD DEALER RESPONSE. SAY THIS IS DANGEROUS. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
STOPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A SLIGHT GRADE. CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY W/LOSS OF STEERING & BRAKES. DRIFTED BACKWARD UNTIL I PUSHED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. LOCAL DEALER RAN DIANOSTICS, NOTHING FOUND LINCOLN PROVIDED ZERO HELP IN RESOULVING THE PROBLEM.

THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH WOULD SAY ITS TILL OPEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. HAD TO REPAIR IT TWICE AT THE DEALER. NOW THE RIGHT REAR DOOR HAS THE SAME ISSUE.
DRIVETRAIN WARNING LIGHT (WRENCH) ILLUMINATEDWHILE DRIVING WITH ASSOCIATED LIMP MODE AND ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. FORD REPAIR STATED THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACING , NOT COVERED UNDER DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY, AND COMMON ITEM FAILURE ON MKX'S. THIS IS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION REPLACEMENT ITEM ON PREVIOUS YEARS OF THE MKX BUT NOT FOR 2012. OBVIOUS THAT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. 65,000 MILES ON VEHICLE AND ALL MAINTENANCE COMPLETED AT DEALERSHIP.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT IS ON. HAS BEEN REPAIRED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN ON, THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT SECURE THE VEHICLE SHOULD IT BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT! APPEARS TO BE A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH FORDS BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. A RECALL SHOULD MANDIDATED.
LINCOLN MKZ 2012 VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG HAS BEEN RECALLED AND I WANT THE NEW AIRBAG TO BE DELIVERED TO THE LINCOLN DEALER VIC BAILY FORD, 501 E. DANIEL MORGAN AVE. SPARTANBURG SC 29302 SO THEY CAN INSTALL IT.
WHEN MY CAR IS TURNED ON AND STATIONARY WITH ALL DOORS CLOSED, THE DASH GIVES ME A WARNING THAT SAYS THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR IS AJAR, WHEN AGAIN, IT IS CLOSED.
BRAKE PEDAL VERY SOFT, GOES TO FLOOR MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STOP. AFTER PUMPING BRAKE A COUPLE OF TIMES BRAKING POSSIBLE BUT STILL NOT RIGHT ALSO A HISSING SOUND CAN BE HEARD. THIS HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO STOP ON EITHER CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY. EXAMPLE WHEN STOPPING FOR A STOP SIGN OR SIGNAL. FIRST REPAIR SHOP I TOOK IT TO CHECKED MY BRAKES AND SAID THEY WERE FINE. AFTER STILL EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM I TOOK IT ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY AND THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER. CAR NOW STOPS OK. THIS WAS AT 46703 MILES.
LOOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING WRENCH LIGHT COMES UP SAYING LOCKED. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. TWICE 2 YEARS AGO AND ONCE ON AUGUST 23, 2016. DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE CODE. VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING 60 MILES ON HIGHWAY. LINCOLN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG? LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING 30 MILES PER HOUR. ANOTHER TIME 60 MILES PER. MANAGE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE IT JUST ABOVE MOVED, LIKE 1 MILE PER HOUR.
THE DASH LIGHT TELLS US THE PASSENGER DOOR IS AJAR ALL THE TIME (WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED) AND SOMETIMES IT SHOWS THE DRIVER DOOR IS AJAR WHEN, IN FACT, THE DOORS ARE SHUT. THE DASH LIGHTS AND EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR LIGHTS STAY LIT A LONG TIME AFTER THE CAR IS PARKED AND THE LIGHTS ARE TURNED OFF. THE HORN (ALARM) WILL START HONKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT OR WHEN IT SITS IN A PARKING LOT FOR AN HOUR OR SO AFTER IT IS PARKED AND WE WILL HAVE TO FIND THE KEYS TO SHUT IT OFF. VERY ANNOYING AND EMBARRASSING WHEN SITTING IN CHURCH AND THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF A SERMON OR PARKED AT A MOTEL AND THE ALARM GOES OFF AT 2 A.M. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. WE ARE ANNOYED AND ANGRY AND DON'T WANT TO PAY HUGE SUMS OF MONEY FOR THEM TO KEEP RUNNING TESTS AND TELLING US "NOTHING IS WRONG", WHEN IT IS! HOW DO WE RESOLVE THIS?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 LINCOLN MKX. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND RESUMED DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM HAS FAILED. THE DOOR OPEN WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH STAYS ON. ATTEMPTS TO GET IT TO GO OUT HAVE FAILED. THE CAR DINGS THE ENTIRE TIME WHILE DRIVING IT. AT NIGHT THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS STAY ON AND INTERFERS WITH VISIBILITY. WHEN CAR IS PARKED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, DRAINING THE BATTERY DUE TO THE DOOR OPEN WARNING ON THE DASH.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY CAR STARTED JERKING WHILE PRESSING ON THE GAS, THEN CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN, AND POWER SHUT DOWN. SO LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND AVOID A ACCIDENT. SAT FOR AWHILE THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND DROVE OFF. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ON TO A FREEWAY ,WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, CAR JERKS AND ACTS AS IF IT WANTS TO SHUT DOWN. ALSO DOOR SENSORS BEEP EVERY TIME YOU GET OUT OF CAR, AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP SLAMMING DOORS IN ORDER FOR INTERIOR, LIGHTS TO GO OFF. DASH READS DOORS ARE STILL OPEN. NO POWER TO MY RADIO AND CANT EVEN GET MY DISPLAY SCREEN TO TURN ON.
GOING DOWN THE STREET WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR GIVE A BIG HICCUP, THEN JUST A FEW FEET MORE, ANOTHER BIG HICCUP, THEN HAD NO POWER, COULD PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, AND NOTHING, LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO PULL IT OFF THE STREET, OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC, HAD WE BEEN GOING FASTER, AND BEEN ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, COULD HAD BEEN FATALLY INJURED BY A CAR TRAVELING BEHIND US AT A GREATER SPEED. THE OPEN WRENCH SIGN CAME UP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, INDICATING POWERTRAIN PROBLEM. LUCK FOR US, A DEPUTY CAME ALONG, AND ASK TO HELP, HE SAID TRY TO RESTART IT, WE HAD SIT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THE OPEN WRENCH LIGHT WAS GONE, AND THE CAR WE COULD DRIVE ON HOME, TOOK TO THE PLAZA LINCOLN DEALER THE NEXT DAY, AND THEY RAN THE COMPUTER TEST AND THE PINPOINT TEST AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING, BUT I HAVE FOUND ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM! I GUESS WE HAVE TO HAVE PEOPLE KILLED BEFORE ANYONE WILL DO A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, SAD MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN PEOPLE'S LIVES. *TR
SAME AS ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. I WENT TO STOP AT A 4 WAY STOP AND MY BRAKES WERE HARD THAN HISSED AND WENT WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP AT THE STOP SIGN AND I THANK GOD NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER HAVING THE BRAKES INSPECTED AND ASSURED THAT THEY WERE OK THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. NOW MY CAR IS GOING TO SIT UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO NEXT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM! BRAKES ARE A NECESSITY AND DEATH OR INJURIES NEED TO BE AVOIDED NOW! AFTER CLOSING THE DRIVERS DOOR THE CAR DETECTS AND SAYS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS OF CLOSING THE DOOR...SOMETIMES IT WILL GO OFF. NOW, THE LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING ON THE LINCOLN MKX AND THE FORD EDGE (SAME TYPE VEHICLE) AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESS WITH A RECALL FOR FORD AND LINCOLN WHICH IS CHARGING CUSTOMERS UP TO $500.00 IN SOME CASES TO REPAIR THESE FAULTY SWITCHES/SENSOR. *TR
2012 LINCOLN MKX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG SYSTEM PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE ON A SHORT LOCAL TRIP, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND STAYED ON. THE NEXT DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE THEY FOUND THE WIRING HARNESS CHAFFING NEAR THE SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. *JB
I NOTICED A FEW DAYS AGO WHEN I WAS IN TRAFFIC MY BRAKES DIDN'T WANT TO HOLD. I PRESSED REALLY HARD AND ONLY THEN DID MY CAR STOPPED. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID MY BRAKES LOOKED GREAT. TWO DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FAULTY VALUE AND THAT MY BRAKES WERE FINE. WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE THE DEALER MY CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND MY BRAKES FAILED I WAS THANKFUL THAT THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND AND WENT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE MANAGER CAME AND CHECKED IT OUT AND HE SAID THE BOOSTER PART OF THE BRAKES WERE DEFECTED AND MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE CAR IS NOW IN THE SHOP. I NOTICED WHEN I CHECKED ONLINE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES. MY FEAR WAS HAVING AN ACCIDENT! *TR

THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BRAKE AND MY BRAKES WERE NOT RESPONDING THE PEDAL WAS LOCKED THEN WENT SOFT RESULTING IN A VERY CLOSE CALL AS I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE. AIR HISSING WHEN I PRESSED BREAK PEDAL, I AM TAKING THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT IN BRAKES, SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR A RECALL AS IT COULD EASILY HAVE RESULTED IN A COLLISION AND INJURY. I DRIVE A LINCOLN 2012 MKX. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD COMING UP TO A MAJOR INTERSECTION MY BRAKES FAILED. AFTER VIGOROUSLY PUMPING THE BRAKES, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO COME TO A SAFE STOP WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT. AS IT TURNED OUT, THE BRAKES HAD A DEFECTED POWER BOOSTER AND I HAD TO HAVE THIS REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH LINCOLN AND BESIDES OFFERING ME AN EXTRA WARRANTY THEY COULD NOT ASSIST WITH GETTING ME INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS PURCHASEDNEW. THE STICK SHIFT HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO TRANSMISSON ISSUE AND NOT GOING INTO PARK, BACK HATCH ISSUES, SOFTWARE ISSUES, RADIO ISSUES, AND THE MOST RECENTLY A POWER STEERING HOSE LEAK, THEN THIS ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES. AFTER THE LAST ISSUE I LOST ANY COMORT LEVEL IN THE RELIABILITY OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR

CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE NAVIGATION SYSTEM *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, HE WAS PROVIDED WITH A DISC WITH AN UPDATED PROGRAM TO SIMPLIFY THE USE OF THE SYSTEM AND MAKE IT MORE USER FRIENDLY. THE SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE SYSTEM IS STILL NOT USER FRIENDLY AND IS A HAZARD TO THE DRIVING PUBLIC. THE CONSUMER STATED ONCE A DRIVER WAS IN A FUNCTION, THERE WAS NO CANCELLATION BUTTON OR END BUTTON IN THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM, OR THE AUDIO SYSTEM, AND ON MANY OCCASIONS THE PHONE SYSTEM, WITHOUT THE DRIVER BEING DISTRACTED AND SEARCHING FOR THE CORRECT MENU WHICH OBVIOUSLY TOOK THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION OFF THE ROAD. IN ADDITION, WHENEVER A FUNCTION WAS CHANGED, IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO ACTIVATE THE EMERGENCY BLINKER LIGHTS WHICH CAUSED CONFUSION TO OTHER DRIVER'S BEHIND HIM. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 LINCOLN MKX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL TANK COULD NOT BE FILLED TO CAPACITY. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A FUEL LEAK OR ANY ISSUES WITH THE FUEL LINES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURE WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ISSUE WAS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
REFLECTION FROM THE CHROME AIR VENTS SHOWS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE MIRRORS WHICH POSES A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH MECHANISM CLOSED WITHOUT THE DOOR ACTUALLY BEING CLOSED. THIS CAUSED A FALSE POSITIVE CONDITION FOR THE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING SYSTEM. I THOUGHT THAT THE DOOR WAS SECURE, HOWEVER THE DOOR WAS IN FACT NOT LATCHED TO THE VEHICLE. MY EIGHT YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT. WERE IT NOT FOR THE PERCEPTION OF MY WIFE WHO SUSPECTED THAT THE DOOR WAS INSECURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH A DOOR THAT WOULD OPEN WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING. THIS FALSE POSITIVE CONDITION IS CAUSED BY THE FACT THAT FORD HAS PLACED THE SENSOR THAT TESTS FOR THE DOOR BEING CLOSED ON THE LATCH MECHANISM RATHER THAN ON THE VEHICLE BODY. AS OUR CIRCUMSTANCES DEMONSTRATE THE SIMPLE FACT OF THE DOOR LATCH BEING CLOSED DOES NOT INSURE THAT THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY SECURED TO THE VEHICLE BODY. WHILE NO INJURIES OCCURRED IN OUR INCIDENT THE POTENTIAL FOR A SERIOUS INJURY IS OBVIOUS. HAD THE DOOR ACTUALLY OPENED MY CHILD MAY HAVE EASILY FALLEN OUT OF A MOVING VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THE CAR MUST KNOW WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY THAT ALL DOORS ARE TRULY SECURED. TESTING THE LATCH FOR BEING CLOSED IS NOT A SUFFICIENT TEST FOR THE CLOSURE OF THE DOORS. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR LITE STAYS ON EVEN WITH THE DOOR CLOSED. THIS IS A INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. WAS FIXED BY THE DEALER ON 07/3/2014 NOW IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN.
