TAKATA RECALL: DRIVING THE AFFECTED CAR IS A LIABILITY AND POSES A DANGER TO BOTH THE DRIVER AND ANY PASSENGERS. NO MEASURES TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION HAVE BEEN TAKEN ON THE PART OF THE MANUFACTURER TO REDUCE THE RISK FOR THE VEHICLE OWNER SINCE THE RECALL DATE OF JUN 01 2016.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM LINCOLN IN JUNE OF 2016. REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE IN OCTOBER OF 2017. I UNDERSTAND THE OLDER THE VEHICLE IS THE MORE LIKELY THERE IS TO BE A PROBLEM. THE CAR ONLY HAS 75000 MILE AND WE PLAN TO DRIVE IT SEVERAL MORE YEARS.

THE DEALERS INDICATED THAT THE OEM RIMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS) AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE REMEDY AND PARTS WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THERE ARE NO AIRBAGS TO REPLACE THE RECALL ON MY CAR AND I AM DRIVING AROUND WITH A FAULTY AND DANGEROUS AIRBAG. I WOULD LIKE A REPLACEMENT NOW. I RECEIVED MY NOTICE IN JUNE 2016

TAKATA RECALL. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS. I CAN'T PUT ANYONE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF MY LINCOLN. I HAVE TO DRIVE MY GRANDCHILDREN AND ADULTS IN THIS CAR AT THE SAME TIME.
TAKATA RECALL- HAVE BEEN PROMISED A REPLACEMENT FOR YEARS. I CANNOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE AMOUNT THEY OFFERED ME FOR A TRADE IN WAS HALF WHAT I COULD HAVE RECEIVED FROM TWO BUYERS. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE AIRBAG, THE DEAL FELL THROUGH.

I PURCHASED A LINCOLN MKZ IN 2015 AND IN 2016, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD ABOUT A RECALL ON MY LINCOLN PASSENGER SIDE FRONTAL AIRBAGS. 2 YEARS LATER AND MONTHLY PHONE CALLS ABOUT REPAIR AND I CONSTANTLY GET THE RUN AROUND THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT IN YET. SOLUTION IS TO NOT PUT PASSENGER UP FRONT, WHICH IS NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION. I EITHER WANT MY CAR REPAIRED OR A REPLACEMENT. I DID NOT BUY A 5 PERSON PREMIUM CAR TO ONLY BE TOLD IT IS NOW A 4 SEATER. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I WOULD LIKE HELP WITH WHAT I AM LEGALLY ABLE TO DO.
LEFT REAR WHEEL HAD CHROME FLAKE OFF AT THE POINT OF ATTACHMENT TO THE TIRE CAUSING AIR LEAK IN OCT 2015. WHEEL WAS REPLACED. RIGHT FRONT WHEEL HAD CHROME FLAKE AT THE TIRE SEAL CAUSING TIRE LOW PRESSURE. DEALER RECOMMENDS REPLACING WHEEL. CAR HAS APPROX. 54000 MILES. THE LOSS OF AIR IN THE TIRES IS SENSED BY THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR. IF TIRES ARE INFLATED IT TAKES ABOUT THREE DAYS UNTIL THE SENSOR LIGHT COMES BACK ON.
CHROME WHEELS DID NOT USE NICKEL UNDERCOAT AND CHROME PEELED OFF CAUSING AIR LEAKS AND DIFFERENTIAL WOULD MOAN FROM UNEVEN TIRE PRESSURE; BOUGHT 4 NEW AFTER MARKET WHEELS FOR $775 AND SOLVED PROBLEM. FRONT DRIVING LIGHTS ALLOWED WATER TO PENETRATE FROM VENT IN WHEEL WELL CAUSING TO FILL UP WITH WATER AND SHORTED OUT CONNECTORS. COVERED VENT HOLES. REWIRED CONNECTOR AND WATER PROOFED THE LIGHTING ASSEMBLIES BUT THEY ARE STILL VERY HAZY FROM WATER DAMAGE. DEALER WANTED $1,200 TO REPLACE THEM AND SAID IT IS COMMON. AFTER MARKET REPLACEMENTS COST $350 TO $500 EACH; PROBLEM STILL NOT RESOLVED AND MAKE AN OTHERWISE VERY PRETTY CAR LOOK LIKE CHEEP CRAP. VERY NICE CAR; STUPID FORD PROBLEMS.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT ALLOWS WATER TO LEAK INTO IT AND THEREFORE SHORTS OUT ELECTRICAL ITEMS. SO FAR I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY BATTERY, THE STARTER FUSE, AND THE TAIL LIGHT FUSE. REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO HAVE TAILLIGHTS AGAIN ON THIS VEHICLE. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED ON THE FREEWAY ONE NIGHT BECAUSE MY TAILLIGHT FUSE SHORTED OUT DURING THE DRIVE. THE WATER IN THE HEAD LIGHT ACCUMULATED OVER TIME, SO I CANNOT PINPOINT EXACTLY WHEN THE SEAL BROKE, BUT THERE IS NO REPAIRING THE SEAL. I'VE BEEN ON MANY VEHICLE FORUMS AND HAVE HAD DISCUSSIONS WITH MANY OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT COLLECTING WATER.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A REPLACEMENT COIL WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
TAKARA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM LINCOLN 3 YEARS AGO AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE HAS DECREASED AND I CANNOT SELL IT. THEY SHOULD BUY BACK THE CAR AT THE VALUE OF IT 3 YEARS AGO.

LINCOLN WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT TO EVEN PRORATE AN AMOUNT TO HELP HIM. THIS IS THE VEHICLE HE USES TO GET TO DR APPTS. TONIGHT WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME, I CAME TO A RED LIGHT. WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES MADE A WEIRD SOUND, HIT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR. I PRESSED OFF THE BRAKE AND PRESSED IT AGAIN AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN, BUT NOT AS MUCH AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED THE CAR. I PULLED OVER AND KEPT TESTING THE BRAKES AGAIN AND IT WAS STILL GOING TO THE FLOOR BUT THE EVENTUALLY STOPPED. LUCKILY I WAS ABOUT 5 MINUTES FROM HOME SO I DID NOT HAVE TO DRIVE MUCH FARTHER. WHEN I GOT HOME, I WENT ONLINE TO LOOK UP THE ISSUE AND I FOUND OTHER PEOPLE INQUIRING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. SOME PEOPLE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY AND THE ISSUE WAS STILL NOT PROPERLY RESOLVED. I THINK THIS COMMON ISSUE NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED, AND A RECALL ISSUED SINCE BRAKES PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN THE SAFETY OF A CAR. IF I WAS NOT ON AN EMPTY ROAD OR IF I HAD A CAR RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, I COULD HAVE HAD A CAR ACCIDENT TODAY BECAUSE I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR RIGHT AWAY. I ENDED UP PRACTICALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.

I HAVE CALLED BOTH FORD AND LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I AM IN REGION B AND PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN DISTRIBUTED YET. BOTH LINCOLN AND FORD WEBSITES STATE IT IS PRESUMED SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR. THIS RECALL INFLICTS DEATHLY HARM ON PEOPLE. I AM EXPERIENCING HIGH ANXIETY DRIVING. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIPS WHO AGAIN STATE THEY HAVE NO PARTS AND FORD HAS NOT AUTHORIZED THEM TO DISTRIBUTE SAFE RENTAL CARS UNTIL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. AT APPROX 50,000 MILES & 2015, THE CHROME ON THE WHEELS STARTED PEELING AND I STARTED GETTING LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNINGS FROM SLOW LEAKING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER< ( ALWAYS DEALER SERVICED) THEY SAID THE RIM IS CORRODING AND THEY HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHEEL AND TIRE, BREAK DOWN THE TIRE OFF THE RIM, GRIND THE CARROTION OFF THE RIM, PUT SEALER ON IT AND REINSTALL AND REBALANCE THE TIRE. ITS NOT WARRANTEED, SO COST ME $35 AND TOOK 1/2 HR. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE OTHER 3 WHEELS DO THE SAME. I WAS QUOTED $845 TO REPLACE ALL 4 CHROME WHEELS WITH ALUMMINIUM WHEELS AND BEST TO DO THAT WHEN NEED NEW TIRES. I AM LOOKING FOR A SET OF USED ALUMMINUM WHEELS FOR IT INSTEAD. THE VENT ON MY 2008 LINCOLN MKZ IS POPPING UP AWAY FROM THE DASH AND THE DASH IS BUCKELING. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE CLIPS BECAUSE IT WAS AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE CLIPS WERE WORE OUT.. HOW DO CLIPS WERE OUT ON A DASH. THE CAR IS NOT VERY OLD FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. THE ONLY WAY TO EXIT THE CAR WAS TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND USE THE EXTERIOR HANDLE. *TR THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND IS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING THAT THE DOOR HANDLE WAS WORN OR HAD A DEFECT. I HAVE DISASSEMBLED THE DOOR AND I SEE THAT AN INTERIOR SECTION OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HAS FRACTURED. THIS SECTION ACTS AS A CAM TO PULL THE CABLE THAT OPENS THE DOOR. IT IS A POOR DESIGN BECAUSE THE PLASTIC IS IN PURE TENSION AND ALLOWS A CRACK TO CATASTROPHICALLY PROPAGATE. I BELIVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IT TRAPS AN OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. MANY FAILURE MODE EFFECTS ANALYSIS EVENTS ASSUME THE DRIVER CAN EXIT THE CAR TO RECEIVE A LOW SCORE. THIS MAKES SEVERAL OTHER POSSIBLE FAILURE MODES MUCH MORE DANGEROUS.
