TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING 50 MPH, THERE WAS A TWO VEHICLE COLLISION AND ALL THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO STOP BUT IT CAUSED MULTIPLE COLLISIONS. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED HER BRAKE PEDAL HOWEVER SHE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE STOMACH FROM THE SEAT, HEAD, BOTH SHOULDERS, KNEES, CHEST AND BOTH ARM INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE OTHER DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS PART OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V001000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
AUG 2, MY HUSBAND & I WERE APPROACHING A 4-WAY LIGHT NEAR OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. WE WERE SLOWING DOWN TO TURN RIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION. AS WE BEGAN THE TURN, THE TIRES LOCKED & OUR CAR SLIDE LEFT ACROSS LANES THAT RESULTED IN A CRASH. BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS THROWN INTO THE WINDSHIELD, DESPITE MY SEAT-BELT, BUSTING IT. THEN, MY AIRBAG DEPLOYED. IT WAS LIKE MY HUSBAND HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. TIRES WERE STILL LOCKED WHEN TOW-TRUCK ARRIVED. OTHER CAR INVOLVED DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. WE DO NOT HAVE A HYBRID, BUT WONDER IF THE STEERING RECALL THAT STARTED WITH 2012 MKZ HYBRIDS & OTHERS COULD INVOLVE ADDITIONAL MODELS LIKE OURS (RECALL 15V340000). WHAT WE EXPERIENCED WAS NOT NORMAL.
DOOR LATCH WILL NOT KEEP DOOR LOCKED. DOOR SOMETIMES WILL NOT CLOSE UNLESS A PERSON PLAYS WITH THE LATCH TO MANIPULATE THE HOOKS TO GET DOOR TO CLOSE. HAS ONLY HAPPEN, SO FAR, WITH THE CAR STOPPED.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 19S01 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NICK MAYER LINCOLN (6180 MAYFIELD RD, MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH 44124, (440) 442-8000) MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THE RECALL REPAIR. IN ACCORDANCE TO THE TERMS SPECIFIED IN THE MAY 4, 2016 AMENDMENT TO THE TAKATA CONSENT ORDER IN EA 15001, THE CONTACT WOULD BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE PART; HOWEVER, THE DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA15001 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER HAD BEEN CONTACTED FOR WEEKS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. .*BF CONSUMER STATED DEALER REPLACED THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL.*JB
WHILE DRIVING YELLOW WRENCH SHOWS UP AND SAYS STOP SAFELY. I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER. THEY CHARGED ME 180USD TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I PAID 180USD AND AFTER 6 HOURS THEY CONTACTED AND ASKED FOR 300USD EXTRA TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY COULDNOT EVEN FIND THE PROBLEM. I SEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON CARCOMLAINTS.COM. ALMOST EVERYBODY EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. IT IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY SPEED SUDDENLY DROPS FROM 65 TO 25 IN SECONDS. THIS IS NOT A GOOD WARNING TO PULL OVER. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.

THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, BRAKE PEDAL SINKS TO THE FLOOR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP FOR LIGHTS, TRAFFIC, STOP SIGNS. STOPPING DISTANCE IS LONGER THAN EXPECTED UNTIL BRAKES FINALLY ENGAGE. ON HIGHWAY (50+ MPH), PEDAL SINKS FOR NORMAL STOPS, AND FOR EMERGENCY STOPS, IF YOU STOMP THE BRAKES THE PEDAL SINKS AND IT SEEMS THAT THE ABS DOES NOT ENGAGE, BECAUSE THERE IS NO NOISE OR VIBRATION.
THE DRIVER DOOR POPS OPEN WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I BOUGHT IT 3 YEARS AGO IN MAY. BUT APPARENTLY IT ISN'T A RECALL. I'M ACTUALLY SCARED TO DRIVE IT THE CAR HAD 54,000 MILES AND 59,000 5 THOUSAND MILES IN THREE YEARS. CAN MAX SAID IT WOULD BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE THEY LIED. THIS IS A PROBLEM AND I'VE TALKED TO OTHER MKZ OWNERS WHO SAY THEY FIXED THE CAR AND PAID FOR IT.
TAKATA INFLACTORS RECALL OF JAN. 2017 PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT STILL NOT AVAILABLE. "TAKATA RECALL"
RECENTLY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY ADVISING ME OF A RECALL REGARDING MY CAR'S AIRBAGS. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, DUE TO NO LINCOLN DEALERSHIP NEARBY AND WAS TOLD NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE MY CARS AIRBAG. ON JUNE 4, 2018 I RECEIVED A SECOND NOTICE ADVISING ME AGAIN OF THE RECALL AND ALSO NO PARTS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE SAFETY DEFECT. WHEN WILL THE SAFETY DEFECT BE REPAIRED ON MY VEHICLE? WHY AM I GETTING NOTICES OF THE RECALL BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE? PLEASE ADVISE ME WHEN THIS SAFETY ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED.
TAKATA RECALL, RECEIVED LETTER FROM LINCOLN IN MAY 2018 STATING MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR WAS UNDER RECALL. LETTER STATED I WOULD BE NOTIFIED FOR REPAIR SECOND OR THIRD QUARTERS OF 2018. NO LETTER FROM LINCOLN YET STATING WHEN I CAN REPAIR BY BAG. IT IS NOW THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2018 AND NO LETTER FROM THEM FOR MY REPAIR. CLASS ACTION SUIT UNDERWAY. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ASSIGNED TO REPAIR THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT DOING THAT. HELP!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OF CAR. THIS IS A SAFETY FACTOR IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. NOT ABLE TO OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE - HAD TO ROLL WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN FROM HANDLE ON OUTSIDE OF CAR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.

SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AFFECTING MANY LINCOLN MODELS. COULDN'T OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND HAD TO CRAWL OUT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS DANGEROUS IN THE EVENT OF A CAR CRASH. SO MANY VIDEOS ON THE WEB OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS MODEL YEAR SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED IN THE DOOR LOCK RECALL. HUGE INCONVENIENCE CRAWLING IN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE, BUT AT LEAST I'M SMALL. I SURE WOULD FEEL SORRY FOR A BIGGER PERSON. MY VEHICLE WAS ALSO ASSEMBLED AT THE SAME PLANT DURING THE YEAR THE OTHER CARS WERE AFFECTED.
TAKATA RECALL I KEEP GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND CUTOMER SERVICE. I ALSO WASN'T ABLE TO SELL MY CAR AS A TRADE IN BECAUSE THEY SAID "WE CAN'T SELL THAT, IT'S A LIABLITITY, SO WE HAVE TO SEND TO AUCTION", THEN OFFERED ME A LOW LOW PRICE, SO I KEPT IT, AND THERE IT SITS. I AM LOOKING AT JUST DISABLIING IT, I HAVE 6 GRANDSKIDS~3 CAN RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT.

"TAKATA RECALL" MY STEP FATHER IS 82 YEARS OLD AND OFTEN HAS SOMEONE WITH HIM IN THE CAR OR HAS SOMEONE DRIVE HIS CAR. THIS RECALL IS QUITE OLD AND WE ARE NOT BEING GIVEN ANY INFORMATION ON WHEN THIS AIR BAG WILL BE REPLACED. SINCE SOMEONES LIFE IS AT RISK I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN CONTINUE TO BE DELAYED. UNABLE TO SECURE VEHICLE. FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK/UNLOCK BY USING ANY ELECTRIC METHOD OR BY USING KEY MECHANICALLY IN EXTERIOR DOOR LOCK.
DRIVERS SIDE REAR BRAKE LIGHT MALFUNCTION. LIGHTS ARE LED CONSTRUCTION CONTAINING 3 ELEMENTS. 2 ELEMENTS HAVE FAILED. THIS REPAIR COSTS$400.00 BECAUSE THE LED'S CANNOT BE REPAIRED. LINCOLN HAS EXTENDED COVERAGE ON 2010 AND 2011 MERCURY MILAN AND LINCOLN MKZ MODELS . THIS IS CALLED 14M03 TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY EXTENDED COVERAGE. THEY HAVE EXTENDED COVERAGE ON THESE MODELS TO 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THE 2012 MODELS SUCH AS MY CURRENT CAR SHOULD ALSO HAVE BEEN COVERED BECAUSE THE 2011 AND 2012 MKZ IS SO SIMILAR. FURTHER LOSS OF BRAKE LIGHTS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE EXTREME EXPENSE THAT IS INVOLVED IN REPLACING TWO TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES AND A CENTER LIGHT ASSEMBLY WERE ALL THREE TO FAIL. I BELIEVE USE OF LED LIGHTING SHOULD BE WARRANTIED FOR THE PROJECTED LIFE OF THE CAR DUE TO COST. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE LIGHT SIMPLY FAILED DUE TO MANUFACTURING OF DESIGN ISSUES.
SEVERAL MONTHS AGO DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE QUIT WORKING ON BOTH OF OUR CARS LESS THAN A MONTH APART(LINCOLN MKX 2012 ) - HAD TO OPEN DOOR FROM OUTSIDE, BOTH HAVE BEEN FIXED. ON MALE'S CAR - NOW PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT RETURN TO PROPER POSITION AND DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. EVEN WITH OTHER DOORS LOCKED, PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR CAN BE OPENED FROM OUTSIDE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED WHEN PARKING CAR AND TRYING TO LOCK DOORS. SINCE DOOR CAN BE OPENED FROM OUTSIDE WHILE APPARENTLY IN LOCKED POSITION, THIS CREATES A SAFETY PROBLEM FOR THE WELFARE OF OCCUPANTS. (NOW WONDER HOW SOON BEFORE THIS HAPPENS TO OTHER DOORS ON CAR AND TO DOORS ON WIFE'S CAR.)
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH IS FAILED, IDENTICAL TO THE ACTIVE 2013-2014 MODEL YEARS FAILURE. DOOR WILL NOT SHUT PROPERLY, CANNOT BE LOCKED, AND OCCASIONALLY REQUIRES OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE TO OPEN THE DOOR. DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT RETRACT FULLY, AND LOCKING MECHANISM IS FAILED. OPENING THE DOOR WHILE LOCKED IS POSSIBLE. I SUSPECT IT WOULD FAIL IN A CRASH, SINCE THE LOCKING BAR IS OBVIOUSLY NOT ENGAGED. FORD DECLAIMS ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ITEM. MATCHING RECALL NUMBER IS 15S16.
THE METAL PART ON THE CABLE CONNECTING BATTERY TO OTHER PARTS OF VEHICLE CRACKED. HAD STOPPED TO GET BATTERY CHECKED AND SERVICE PERSONNEL FOUND THE CRACK IN THE METAL PART ON CABLE THAT CONTAINS 2 FUSES. CAR HAD BEEN HESITANT ON STARTING TWICE IN THE WEEK. SAFETY PROBLEM IF PART HAD BROKEN COMPLETELY INTO WHILE ON INTERSTATE OR IN AN AREA NOT HEAVILY POPULATED. COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS IF NOT FATAL ACCIDENT.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY (17S01) STATING THE AIRBAG ON MY VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. IT HAS BEEN 1 YEAR AND NO NOTIFICATION. I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURE HAS HAD SUFFICIENT TIME TO PRODUCE THE PART AND DISTRIBUTE TO DEALERS TO CORRECT THIS DEFICIENCY, YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. THUS FAR THEIR HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT AND IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY PROPERLY SHOULD A COLLISION OCCUR.

YESTERDAY I GOT A NOTICE OF A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT THAT I CAN’T EVEN ENTER INTO BECAUSE MY CAR HASN’T BEEN FIXED YET AND THE DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 26, 2018........WHAT GIVES?
