TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT WAS REFILLED EVERY WEEK. THE CONTACT'S SON STATED THAT THE WRENCH ICON ILLUMINATED AND DISAPPEARED WHEN THE COOLANT WAS REFILLED. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW IF THERE WAS A LEAK. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
FOR THE SECOND ONE TIME IN A MONTH MY LOCKING MECHANISM ON MY 2014 LINCOLN MKZ HYBRID. FORD IS RECALLING VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIPS SAY MY VIN NUMBER ISN'T PART OF IT. 2 DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENTS IS 800.00. THIS IS RIDICULOUS WHEN OTHER VEHICLES THE SAME YET MAKE AND MODEL AS MINE ARE ACCEPTABLE FOR THE RECALL. I OPENED MY DOOR AND NOW THE LATCH WON'T STAY CLOSED. IT OPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN MY 2014 LINCOLN MKZ 2.0 ECOBOOST I ATTEMPTED TO MATCH THE SPEED OF THE FAST LANE AND MERGE. WHEN ACCELERATING THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUDDER ALMOST STALL WITH NO POWER. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER?S SIDE LATCH FAILED AND CAUSED THE DOOR TO OPEN. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE LATCH ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LINCOLN OF MEMPHIS (2611 RIDGE WAY ROAD, MEMPHIS, TN 38119, (90)1-432-8822) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER?S SIDE LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REAR DRIVER?S DOOR LATCH WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 24331533. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,795.
WHEN CLOSING THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH TO CLOSE SECURELY. THE LATCH IS STUCK OPEN. WE WERE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT AND WITH SOME WORK GOT IT TO LATCH CLOSED UNTIL WE GOT HOME. WHEN WE OPEN AND THEN CLOSED THE DOOR AGAIN, THE SAME THING HAPPEN AND THE LATCH IT STUCK SO IT WILL NOT LATCH TO SECURELY CLOSE. CURRENTLY I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THE ISSUE.
2014 LINCOLN MKZ. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO WHEEL LUG NUTS ON VEHICLE BEING HAZARDOUS ON THE ROAD. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE LUG NUTS BECOME OVER HEATED. DUE TO THIS FAILURE, THE ISSUED LUG WRENCH WAS UNABLE TO SLIP OVER THE HEATED LUG NUTS. *JS
DOOR LATCH DEFECTIVE. I HAD A DEFECTIVE LATCH REPLACED BY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP ONE YEAR AGO. THIS WAS THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. ON 7/11/19, MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH IS NOW DEFECTIVE. I CONTACTED MY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND THEY EXPLAINED MY WARRANTY IS NOT VALID, THEREFORE, THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST. I CONTACTED LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE, RECALL DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOO SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE 2ND DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH, DUE TO NO WARRANTY. THEY EXPLAINED THEY UNDERSTOOD THIS IS THE 2ND DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH AND THIS DOOR LATCH ISSUE IS PART OF RECALL. HOWEVER, MY VIN# IS NOT PART OF RECALL, BUT MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR ARE INCLUDED IN RECALL.
I INFORM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY ON MY LINCOLN HAS BEEN RECALLED, WHICH IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW TO A RECORD NUMBER OF AMERICANS, BUT IT'S EVEN WORSE WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOUR CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED AND CAN'T GET THE MANUFACTURER TO SERVICE IT AT A DEALERSHIP. WHEN YOU'RE TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS OR NO TECHNICIANS TO FIX YOUR CAR, WHAT DO YOU DO? I WAS TOLD IT'S NOT THAT BAD AND DIDN'T NEED TO BE REPLACING RIGHT NOW. HAD MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICE ON RECALL 18S08, THAT IS WHEN THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T PUT THE LUG NUTS BACK ON MY CAR, AND THE WHEEL FELL OFF THE CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. THE LUGS NUTS SWELL, CRACK AND DELAMINATE TO THE POINT SPECIAL TOOLS ARE NEEDED TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS. HAD 3 BLOWOUT DUE TO THE WHEEL FRAME WAS BENT, AND WAS REPLACE DURING THE DAMAGE THE DEALERSHIP DONE TO THE CAR. PICTURE WAS PROVIDED TO LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY. I WAS NOTIFIED BY LINCOLN ABOUT NHTSA 14V-597, AND OF THE DATE STILL NOT REPAIRED. TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS THAT COULD EXPLODE VIOLENTLY DESPITE CONTAINING A CHEMICAL MEANT TO LESSEN THE RISK OF THE SHRAPNEL-SHOOTING RUPTURES. BUT FORD IS LOOKING TO AVOID ANOTHER COSTLY RECALL. CAN'T FIND THE NATSA# MY LINCOLN NOW UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR BRAKE FAILURE. A SIGNIFICANT DEFECT CAN MAKE MY CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I'VE BEEN HAVING THE IDIOT LIGHT COME ON WITH LIGHTNING BOLT WORDS CHECK YOUR BRAKES. THE MESSAGE I GOT WAS THEY WERE GOING TO CLOSE THE CASE# BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO REMEDY FOR ME. THEY DISCOVER MY WARRANTY ON THE CAR IS RUNNING OUT AND DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHER WITH THE PROBLEM.

THE MESSAGES 'SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" AND "STEER ASSIST FAULT' WERE DISPLAYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. OURISMAN FORD/LINCOLN (6129 RICHMOND HWY, ALEXANDRIA, VA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,316.
I WAS AT A GROCERY STORE. TURNED ON MY CAR PUT IT IN REVERSE AND I COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL. A LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH BOARD SAYING STEERING ALIGNMENT FAILURE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURNED IT OFF AND TRIED TO BACK UP A FEW MORE TIMES AND FAILED. SO I JUST SAT THERE FOR A WHILE THEN TRIED ONE LAST TIME AND THE CAR FINALLY BACKED UP.
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE ORDER DRIVE IN LOW SPEED OR GETTING INTO GEAR THE CAR SPUTTERS. IT STALLS AND POWERS OFF, CREATING A HAZARD. IT IS BEGINNING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY. IT WILL ACT AS IF IT IS NOT RECEIVING FUEL AND IT MAKES ME RESTART IT. MOST OCCURS IN PARKING LOTS OR DRIVEWAYS.
WHEN I READ ABOUT THE STEERING WHEEL BOLT RECALL IN JUNE 2018 I CHECKED THE CONDITION OF MY STEERING WHEEL BOLT AND DISCOVERED IT WAS LOOSE AND WAS THE BAD DESIGN THAT WAS BEING RECALLED. I WAITED FOR A RECALL NOTICE THAT NEVER CAME AND WHEN I CHECKED WITH DEALER IN DECEMBER 2018 THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW BOLT AND WILL INSTALL MYSELF. HOWEVER, I AM STILL QUITE CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE MAY STILL BE AT RISK OF INJURY. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THE ORIGINAL NOTIFICATION BY FORD LISTS THE PRODUCTION DATES THAT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE. I PERSONALLY OBSERVED THE LOOSE STEERING BOLT ON MY VEHICLE AND BAD DESIGN. FOR SOME REASON, NOT ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLE OWNERS ARE BEING INFORMED OF A PROBLEM . I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2017.
VEHICLE SUDDENLY DIES WHEN DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ONE MONTH AGO. BROUGT IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE BOLT RECALL AND STALLED WHILE DEALER WAS TRYING TO PULL IT INTO THE BAY. AFTER THAT POINT, THE VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVNG ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. WENT TO THE MECHANIC ONE TWO OCCASIONS AND NO CODES PULLED. CALLED DEALER AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO GO TO A FORD DEALER. WENT TO FORD DEALER ONE CODE PULLED (FUEL INJECTOR) WAS REPLACED RECOMMENDED I CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND REPLACE BATTERY WHICH I AGREED TO. FORTY MINUTES AFTER LEAVING DEALER AS I WAS OULLING OUT OF A PARKIGN LOT THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED AGAIN ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE HIT BY A BOX TRUCK BEHIND ME. THE CAR IS BACK AT THE DEALER AND ONCE AGAIN NO CODES ARE COMING UP AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WENT ONTO MKZ FORUMS AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM NOT ADDRESSED WHICH IS CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN FOR BOTH MYSELF AND OTHERS SINCE THERE ARE NO ANSWERS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.
ELECTRICAL STEERING RACK NOT WORKING , HAD TO REPLACE. MKZ 2014
REPLACE ELECTRIC STEERING RACK HP5Z* 3504*C HAD TO REPLACE ELECTRIC STEERING RACK. QUESTION IS WITH TWO RECALLS SOMEWHAT RELATED TO THE STEERING COLUMN ( BOLT IN STEERING WHEEL AND A POWER TRAIN ISSUE) WOULD THIS ULTIMATELY AFFECT THE ELECTRIC STEERING RACK HP5Z*3504*C? CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND IN GREAT CONDITION. BESIDES THE RECALLS NO REPAIRS AT ALL. ELECTRIC RACK JUST STOPPED WORKING, I PARKED THE CAR GOT READY TO GO TO WORK AND COULD NOT TURN STEERING WHEEL. MY CAR HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES SINCE THE DAY I HAVE PURCHASED IT. AGAIN, LAST WEEK, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIT UP WITH NUMEROUS CODES. I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS. THE CODES CLEARED AND THEY CANNOT ROOT CAUSE THE ISSUE. IN ADDITION, WHEN I HAVE BEEN AT A STOP LIGHT THE DRIVER'S SEAT REGRESSES BACKWARDS, AND THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR MOVES AT THE SAME TIME.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL NEEDED TO BE PUMPED IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT NOTICED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FOX FORD LINCOLN (2501 N ELSTON AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60647, (773) 687-7800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE LINE WAS RUPTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
Rear view camera intermittently does not work. Rear view mirrors don’t provide enough field of view to see all behind the car without assistance of the camera. Vehicle shows error message.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN OGEECHEE ROAD IN MY CITY AND THE TRAFFIC WAS SLOWING DOWN. SO I BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND THE STEERING WHEEL WENT OUT. I RAN I TO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE STEERING WHEEL
PURCHASED THIS CAR USED (ONE OWNER) - HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE 9/2017 WITH NO PROBLEMS. LAST WEEK (5/04/18) CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND TO START BUTTON. THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A FLUKE SO DISREGARDED THIS ISSUE AS IT DID FINALLY START AFTER 5-6 TRIES. LAST NIGHT (5/12/18) WHILE TRAVELING ON A BACK ROAD (APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH) THE CAR SHUT OFF TOTALLY. LOSS OF STEERING/BRAKES. MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR ON THE SHOULDER. INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE THE AMBER WRENCH (POWERTRAIN) AND A ANOTHER RED SQUARE (NOT SURE WHAT SYMBOL). IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES BEFORE CARE WOULD RESTART. TAKING TO DEALERSHIP ON 5/14 AND HOPING THEY DO NOT TELL ME THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY ISSUES. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER OWNERS HERE THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. THIS COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IF WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY!
WHEN AT A RELIGHT, MY FORT WAS ON THE BRAKE,YET THE STEERING WHEEL,PULLED IT TO THE LLEFT. THE IT WAS O.K. I DROVE ON ADD PARKED ,WENT TO STORE, THEN RETURNED TO MY CAR PUT IN REVERSE,THEN PUT IN. DRIVE AND TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT. IT PULLED IMMEDIATELY TO THE RIGHT, CAUSING ME TO GO OVER THE YELLOW BLOCK AND HIT THE KERB,IT WAS OUT OF MY CONTROL,CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE CAR. THE FIRST PROBLEM WAS STATIONARY AT A RED LIGHT. THE SECOND WAS IN DRIVE TO THE RIGHT, STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT,IN AN EXIT FRO THE PARKING LOT

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION, INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND ABS ABILITY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE ON EACH OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB DAVIDSON FORD LINCOLN (1845 E JOPPA RD, PARKVILLE, MD 21234, (410) 661-6400) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,500.
DRIVERS DOOR DOESN'T ALWAYS CLOSE PROPERLY.. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS MISALIGNED SOMETIMES. I AM AFRAID THAT THE DOOR IS GOING TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V875000 (SEAT BELTS) AND 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER AND ROBINSON BROTHERS FORD (LOCATED AT 11455 AIRLINE HWY, BATON ROUGE, LA 70816) HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR LATCHES WERE INOPERABLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. FIESTA LINCOLN (1720 S MESA DR, MESA, AZ 85210, (480) 813-4900) WAS CONTACTED, BUT WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY OR INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
OUTER BEARING FAILURE IN TRANSMISSION RESULTING IN METAL-TO-METAL BEARING DESTRUCTION AND ACCORDING TO FORD TECHNICIANS ONCE COMPLETE FAILURE OCCURS WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY STOP WHEN DRIVING. FORD-LINCOLN ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION OR VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE VIN BUT IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR OTHER FORD AND LINCOLNS FOR THIS PROBLEM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE ONLY RESOLUTION IS A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION AS THE TRANSMISSION CAN NOT BE REPAIRED. THE OLD CORE TRANSMISSION WAS REQUIRED TO BE SENT BACK TO FORD-LINCOLN. THE FACTORY TRANSMISSION IS WARRANTIED FOR 60,000 MILES AND IN MY SPECIFIC CASE THE VEHICLE HAD 110,000 MILES. THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IS BELIEVED TO HAVE ENGINEERING CHANGES TO PRECLUDE THIS BEARING FAILURE AND HAS A WARRANTY OF 100,000 MILES. THE CHIEF CONCERN IS THAT FORD-LINCOLN IS WELL AWARE OF THE PENDING TRANSMISSION FAILURE SO MUCH THAT THEY ISSUED AN INTERNAL TSB ADDRESSING THE ISSUE, BUT NOT SO CONCERNED TO SEND ANY CORRESPONDENCE TO OWNERS OF VEHICLES CONTAINING THIS TRANSMISSION AND THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES SHOULD IT FAIL, WHICH APPARENTLY COULD BE CATASTROPHIC AND LIFE-THREATENING TO OCCUPANTS AND POTENTIALLY OTHER VEHICLES DRIVING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. ALSO, IN SPEAKING TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ON THEIR NATIONAL CALL LINE FOR CONCERNS, THE AGENT WAS CERTAIN I DID NOT HAVE A TRANSMISSION SUBJECT TO FAILURE, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS THE TSB IN EFFECT WHICH I MENTIONED ABOVE. SHE INDICATED THAT DID NOT RELATE TO MY VEHICLE WHEN I QUESTIONED HER FURTHER. BOTH FORD MECHANIC AND A CERTIFIED MECHANIC NOT ASSOCIATED WITH FORD BOTH INDICATED THE TRANSMISSION IN MY LINCOLN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TSB FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. PHOTO INFO ON DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION ATTACHED.
MY MPG EXPERIENCE TO DATE HAS BEEN IN THE 14-17 MPG RANGE. COPIES OF THREE TANK REFILL GAS RECEIPTS SHOWING ODOMETER MPG READINGS ARE ATTACHED. I AM 81 YEARS OLD AND A CONSERVATIVE DRIVER THAT NEITHER DRIVES AT HIGH SPEEDS NOR RUSHES FORWARD OUT OF STOPS. LINCOLN AND DEALER ADVERTISE 21 MPG IN CITY DRIVING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CERTIFIED PERFORMANCE IN THE 15 MPG AREA. ( COPY ATTACHED) . I HAVE ALSO CORRESPONDED WITH LINCOLN. COPY THEIR LAST LETTER STATING THAT THEY WOULD REPLY TO STATING THAT THEY "WERE NOT ABLE TO BE OF FURTHER ASSISTANCE " - IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP?
