THE DRIVERS INSIDE DOOR HANDLE BECAME UNSECURED FROM DOOR PANEL. UNABLE TO OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING AND WAS INFORMED THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THERE WERE NO OPTIONS GIVEN, EXCEPT THAT THE PART WOULD HAVE TO COME FROM A SALVAGE YARD. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN OVER THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE, SHOULD A COLLISION OR FIRE OCCUR, THE OCCUPANT WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC, AND HE IS GOING TO SECURE THE HANDLE TOMORROW, SO I CAN OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A WATER LEAK THAT SHOWED UP IN THE CARPET AND WOULD STAND 1.5 INCHES DEEP IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. HE FELT THAT IT WAS DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL SEAT CONNECTIONS THAT WERE EXPOSED TO THE WATER. HE WAS NOT SURE WHERE THE WATER CAME FROM. HE HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT HAD CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. THE REPRESENTATIVE MADE A RECORD OF HIS CONCERN. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,313. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000- UPDATED 04/16/10. *LJ THERE WAS A DRAIN HOLE LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD ABOVE THE FIREWALL. IT WAS COVERED BY COWLING. THE DRAIN HOLE BECAME BLOCKED AND A LEAKED FORMED FROM THE SEALANT DETERIORATING SURROUNDING THE DRAIN HOLE. UPDATED 07/19/10*JB
CONSUMER CAN NOT READ DASH WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNED ON. *TS THE CONSUMER STATED THE DIMMER SWITCH WAS IN THE HIGH POSITION, AND HE STILL COULD NOT READ THE PANEL. *JB
WHEN OPENING TRUNK IT WOULD SLAM SHUT. *TS THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRUNK CLOSER. WHEN THE TRUNK WAS OPENED FULLY IT WOULD SUDDENLY SLAM VERY RAPIDLY AND WITH GREAT FORCE. THE CONSUMER'S WIFE FINGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURY FROM THE TRUNK LID MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THEY INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE TORQUE ROD IN THE CLOSURE ASSEMBLY BECOMING DISLODGED. THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE BRACKET FOR THE ROD SHOULD BE REDESIGNED. *NM
