DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (LED HALO) ON RIDER'S SIDE NO LONGER WORKS. VEHICLE HAS 30098 MILES, BUT HAS AGED OUT OF WARRANTY. ENTIRE UNIT MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST EXCEEDING $1200. WILL NOT PASS STATE SAFETY INSPECTION AS IS.
2016 MAZDA CX5 HEADLIGHT PROBLEM THE LEFT ONE WENT OUT AND WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY. NOW THE RIGHT ONE HAS GONE OUT AND THEY WANT $1200 TO FIX IT. THE CAR ONLY HAS 48000 MILES ON IT. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BECAUSE HEADLIGHTS SHOULD NOT NEED REPLACING THIS SOON.
42K MILES LEFT REAR WHEEL BECAME SUPER HOT, TOOK TO MECHANIC, LEFT YEAR CALIPER WAS LOCKED UP , CALLED MAZDA THEY CAN DO NOTHING CAR OUT OF WARRANTY, I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THESE CARS WITH SAME ISSUE
MAZDA CONNECT INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM REBOOTS CONTINUOUSLY THROUGH MULTIPLE SCREENS AND CANNOT BE TURNED OFF OR DISABLED. THE CONTINUOUS REFLASH THROUGH MULTIPLE HIGH INTENSITY LIT SCREENS CREATES A VISUAL DISTRACTION FOR NIGHT DRIVING.
MY WIFES CAR IS JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD, COUPLE MONTH OUT OF WARRANTY OF COARSE HOWEVER THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE LIGHT FOR NO REASON COMES ON AND BLINKS WHEN IT DOES THIS IT ALSO BLINK THE RED LIGHT ON THE DASH. IT WAS ONLY DOING THIS AT START UP HOWEVER NOW IT SEEM TO DO IT AT RANDOM EVEN WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS VERY SCARY TO THINK YOUR BRAKES COULD ACTUALLY LOCKUP. CALLED MAZDA USA, AND THEY SAID WELL IT MUST BE DIAGNOSED BY ONE OF THERE DEALERSHIP AND EVEN THEN WOULD NOT PROBABLY CONSIDER COVERING ANY PART OF THE BILL WHICH CAN RUN UP TO $1000.00 FOR THE EPB MODULE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN 100% CARED FOR ALL RECORDS BARELY 21.000 MILES, THIS IS THE 3RD FAULTY ISSUE OF SOMETHING BREAKING ON THIS CAR-1ST- ONE OF THOSE EXPENSIVE LED LIGHTS BURNED OUT, 2ND ELECTRIC SEAT MOTOR BURN OUT,AND NOW THIS MODULE AND THE CUSTOMER REP STATES THEY ARE NOT AT LIBERTY TO DISCUSS IF THIS WAS IN FACT A PROBLEM AND SAFETY ISSUE .PLEASE BE SAFE AND CAREFUL WHEN YOU PURCHASING YOUR MAZDA CX-5
MY TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS TRIGGERED ON WHEN I DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 40 MPH. I STOPPED AT A PARKING LOT AND I NOTICED THE REAR RIGHT WHEEL WAS LITERALLY SMOKING. LATER I WENT TO A LOCAL SHOP AND I WAS TOLD THE BRAKE WAS OVERHEATED ON THE REAR RIGHT SIDE. MY LOCAL SHOP REPLACED THE ROTOR AND PADS, HOWEVER, THE OVERHEAT PROBLEM KEPT SHOWING UP ON THAT RIGHT REAR SIDE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PARKING BRAKE DRAGGING FOR 2016 CX5. SO I STOPPED USING THE PARKING BRAKE AND THE OVERHEATING PROBLEM WAS GONE. HOWEVER, THE PARKING BRAKE IS STILL DEFECTIVE AND CAUSES OVERHEAT IF USED.
DRIVER SIDE LED DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHT IS FLICKERING AT 25% BRIGHTNESS, PASSENGER SIDE LED DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHT IS NOT FUNCTIONING. CAR HAS ONLY 56,000 MILES. LED LIGHTS SHOULD NOT FAIL THIS EARLY. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET. I WILL NOT REPLACE DUE TO EXTREMELY HIGH COST OF OVER $1000 PER HEADLIGHT. VISIBILITY OF THESE VEHICLES HAS BEEN SEVERELY COMPROMISED DUE TO FAULTY DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF SOMETHING THAT SHOULD LAST FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.
PASSENGER SIDE LED MODULE DRL LIGHT STRIP IS DIM/FLICKERING. HAPPENED IN YEARS 3-4 SHORTLY AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. DEALER OFFERED ZERO ASSISTANCE. LED LIGHTS SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER. A QUICKER INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD ON MY MODEL YEAR. IN FACT, I HAVE SEEN MANY VEHICLES WITH FAULTY LIGHT IN M DAILY DRIVING.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ISSUE - SEEMS LIKE A LARGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, LIGHT FLICKERS BEFORE IT FINALLY BLOWS, DRL ONLY COME ON WHEN VEHICLE IS IN "DRIVE", SO ONLY WHEN IN MOTION, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT TYPE OF ROAD, OR DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. THE FLICKERING IS A HAZARD FOR OTHER DRIVERS, AND IS MAJORLY ANNOYING TO OWNER, THE FIX IS NEARLY $1000 TO REPAIR. THIS IS THE SECOND ONE TO GO, THE FIRST (ON DRIVER'S SIDE) BLEW WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, LESS THAN 36K MILES, SECOND ONE HAS NOW GONE, AT 71K, WELL OUT OF WARRANTY.
2016 CX-5. LAST YEAR, THE DRIVER SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LED HEADLIGHT STARTED FLICKERING FOR A FEW MONTHS, THEN WENT COMPLETELY DARK. CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, SO IT WAS REPLACED FOR FREE. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LED HEADLIGHT IS DOING THE SAME THING. CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND MAZDA SAYS IT WILL COST $1200. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
DRIVER SIDE LED DRL IS ABOUT 50% BRIGHTNESS. THE PASSENGER SIDE DRL HAS ALREADY FAILED AND WAS REPLACED BY MAZDA (PART) AND I PAID FOR LABOR. SHOULD BE A RECALL CONSIDERING THE SAFETY CONCERN, WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION, AND ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED AT ROUGHLY $1,000 EACH PLUS LABOR. MANUFACTURER'S DEFECTIVE DESIGN. I WILL HAVE TO AGAIN CALL MAZDA CORP. TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE. APPROXIMATE MILES LISTED BELOW
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED, THEN I MOVE GEAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE, OR REVERSE TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE STALLS TO GO INTO TO DRIVE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS, THE ENGINE REVS THEN THERE IS A FORCEFUL JOLT WHEN IT FINALLY KICKS IN TO DRIVE. ALSO, WHEN I'M AT A STOP FOR A WHILE, THEN PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL TO DRIVE, IT TAKES A COUPLE OF SECONDS FOR THE CAR TO DRIVE. THIS IS A BIG CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE THERE SEEMS TO BE A DELAY WITH THE DRIVE GEAR.
WHEN STARTING CAR AND PUTTING IT INTO DRIVE, THEN PUSH THE GAS, THE CAR HESITATES TO GO INTO DRIVE THEN JOLTS WHEN IT FINALLY SHIFTS INTO GEAR FROM PARK. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT TAKES LONG TO GO INTO DRIVE FROM PARK, AND THE ENGINE REVS AND JOLTS VIOLENTLY WHEN IT FINALLY READS THE DRIVE GEAR WHICH IS NOT NORMAL AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME.
THE PASSENGER SIDE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT BECAME DIM AND FLICKERING AT ABOUT 36600 MILEAGE. AT THE TIME OF THE MALFUNCTION THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN DURING THE DAY ON A CITY STREET. THE ENCLOSED PICTURE SHOWS THE VEHICLE IN AN UNLIGHTED GARAGE. THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED MANY TIMES ON ONLINE FORUMS. THE VEHICLE MANUAL STATES THAT FAILURE OF ANY BULB OR LIGHT IN THE HEADLIGHT CLUSTER NECESSITATES REPLACEMENT OF THE WHOLE UNIT. SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY REPLACEMENT IS ESTIMATED TO BE OVER $1100 FOR JUST ONE SIDE.
DRIVER SIDE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT LED NOT WORKING.
THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE IS FLICKERING NON-STOP IN JUST 39K MILES (OUT OF WARRANTY). LEARNED ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR BUSINESS ROUTE AND AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT, ADJACENT CAR DRIVER POINTED OUT (NICE GUY, THANK YOU). CAME HOME AND UPON LOOKING AT IT, I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW OTHER DRIVERS MIGHT HAVE BEEN ANNOYED WHEN LOOKING THRU THEIR REAR VIEW MIRROR. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A SAFETY HAZARD AND MAZDA SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP NO COST TO CAR OWNERS. SEARCHING ONLINE, HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF DRIVERS HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MAZDA CX5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 15 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. NO AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A BRUISED SHOULDER AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD, AND WAS TAKEN OVER BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR AN EVALUATION. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,129. *BF*JB
DRIVERS SIDE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT IS DIM AND DIFFICULT TO SEE.
THE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS FLICKER AND GO OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO BOTH SIDES OF MY HEADLIGHTS AT 50K AND 55K MILES. THE FIX FOR THIS IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AT OF COST OF $1,400 -$2,000 PER LIGHT! THIS POSES A SAFETY RISK IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT PROPERLY ILLUMINATED. A RECALL IS DESPERATELY NEEDED FOR THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT, OR WORSE KILLED, BY THESE FAULTY PARTS.

THE CONTACT REFUSED TO PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT AND THE SEAT REMAINED UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Mazda CX-5. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20V063000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer several times and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. I SLOWED DOWN IN GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT. SLOWLY APPROACHING PARKING SPACE AND APPLYING THE BRAKE TO STOP CAR. THEN SUDDENLY WITH NO REASON THE CAR ACCELERATED, JUMPED THE CURB AND HIT BUILDING. THE WHOLE RIGHT SIDE WAS HEAVY DAMAGED.I HAD NO CONTROL. IT WAS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. I MOVED THE CAR OFF THE GRASS FROM BUILDING, THIS TIME STOPPED NORMALLY. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE I AM CONCERNED IT WILL DO THIS AGAIN AND I COULD HURT OR KILL MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. ON JULY 25 I SLOWED DOWN IN GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT. SLOWLY APPROACHING PARKING SPACE AND APPLYING THE BRAKE TO STOP CAR. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE I AM CONCERNED IT WILL DO THIS AGAIN AND I WILL BE IN TRAFFIC OR NEAR PEOPLE AND I COULD HURT OR KILL MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
SIGNIFICANT LAG IN TRANSMISSION GOING FROM STOP TO EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE (3 - 5 SECONDS). CAR CAN ROLL BACKWARD WHILE WAITING FOR GEAR TO ENGAGE, AND WILL REV AND THEN JERK HARSHLY INTO GEAR. ALSO WILL JERK WHEN SHIFTING WHILE ACCELERATING TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS. VEHICLE HAD UNDER 25,000 MILES ON IT WHEN SYMPTOMS STARTED. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND GOT APPROVAL FOR NEW TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY VERY QUICKLY, WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR MAZDA. SAW MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON NHTSA WEBSITE.
LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS FAILING AT 42000 MILES.
MY 2016 CX-5 GT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY BASED ON MODEL YEAR, ALTHOUGH IT ONLY HAS 21000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS ALMOST EVERY OTHER OWNER OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL, WHICH IS THAT THE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON ONE SIDE (SO FAR) HAVE STOPPED WORKING. LED'S DO NOT BURN OUT IN JUST A FEW YEARS, SO THE PROBLEM IS IN THE WIRING INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. IT IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT MAZDA WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE. REPAIR COST CAN BE $1200 TO $1500 PER HEADLIGHT TO THE OWNER.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OURISMAN MAZDA OF ROCKVILLE (801 ROCKVILLE PIKE, ROCKVILLE, MD 20852, 301-424-7800) DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE THAT AFFECTED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, THE VEHICLE'S SENSORS, AND THE HOME SCREEN. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A CERTAIN CONSOLE THAT CONTROLLED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED AND THE PART WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE INFORMED WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN THE DEALER'S POSSESSION FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS APOLOGETIC TO THE CONTACT FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE INVESTIGATING THE MATTER. THE CONTACT FILED AN INTERNAL COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE'S INFOTAINMENT/NAVIGATION SYSTEM FROZE UP. WHEN IN OPERATION THE SCREEN JUST BLINKS ON AND OFF. UPON BRINGING VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ITEM IS BACKORDERED AS THERE ARE SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEMS THEY HAVE NO TIME FRAME TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. UPON RESEARCH ON LINE IT ALSO APPEARS MANY OTHERS ARE SHARING THEIR SAME CHALLENGES WITH SYSTEMS THAT DO NOT WORK.
ELECTRIC PARKING BREAK (EPB) WARNING LIGHT START BLINKING AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE BRAKE. I LIVED IN A WARM TROPICAL WEATHER. IN MY UNDERSTANDING THIS FUNCTION WORKS ON COLD WEATHER.PROBLEM PERSISTS INTERMITTENTLY. IF VEHICLE TURNED OFF, PROBLEM "DISAPPEARS" BUT APPEARS AGAIN WHEN THE BREAK BUTTON WAS RELEASED. WEEKS LATER THE CAR STARTED TO ACTIVATE THE SMART CITY BREAK ALARM WHEN MOVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND IN A CITY STREET WITH NO REASON, SUDDENLY, AND BRINGING A SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO STARTED TO MAKE STRANGE NOISES RELATED TO THE BRAKE, SIMILAR WHEN THE BRAKES OR PADS GET WET AND MAKING THE CAR FORCED TO BE MOVED WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO MOVE, NO MATTER BREAK IS RELEASED AND TURNING IT SLOW AND VAGUE. AN ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSTIC REPORT WAS MADE AND SHOWS THE FOLLOWING CODES : CODE C2005 (ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE MOTOR GEAR UNIT (RH) CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CODE C112A (INCORRECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE MOTOR GEAR UNIT POSITION) CODE C2006 (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE MOTOR GEAR UNIT (LH) CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION.
DRIVER'S SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP IS EXTREMELY DIM. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION THE DRL IS EITHER OFF, OR FLICKERING. VERY DISTINGUISHABLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE DRL WHICH IS FULL BRIGHT. VEHICLE IS AT APPROXIMATELY 44,700 MILES ON ODOMETER.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION FOLLOWED BY THE SOUND OF BROKEN GLASS. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES NEARBY WHEN THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED AND I DID NOT SEE OR FIND ANY OBJECTS THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE GLASS TO BREAK. THE REMAINING PARTS OF THE SUNROOF WERE DIRECTED OUTWARD FROM THE VEHICLE, INDICATING THAT IT HAD EXPLODED OUTWARD. IT WAS A HOT DAY (90+ DEGREES) AND THE AC WAS ON IN THE VEHICLE. AND WHEN THE SUNROOF BROKE THERE WAS A VERY LOUD EXPLOSIVE SOUND. IT IS ALSO INTERESTING TO NOTE THE THE GLASS WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED INTO SMALL PIECES, MANY OF WHICH FELL INTO THE CABIN.
PASSENGER SIDE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS NO LONGER FUNCTION. MAZDA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AND SINCE THE WARRANTY IS NO LONGER VALID, THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. REPLACEMENT OF THE ASSEMBLY IS APPROXIMATELY $1,000.00. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED FREQUENTLY IN ONLINE FORUMS AND HAS MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS LOGGED ON THIS SITE. MAZDA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL THESE HEADLIGHTS AS IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT IMPOSES A SAFETY RISK TO THE DRIVER AND OTHERS SHARING THE ROAD.
LED RUNNING DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHTS HAVE FAILED AT ONLY 3 YEARS!
I HAD THE CAR STARTED AND TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND THE CAR STOPPED. DID SEVERAL TIMES SHUTTING OFF AND TURNING OFF. ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE PANEL FLICKERS. AFTER SEVERAL TIMES EVERY THING BACK TO NORMAL. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I TRIED IT SEVERAL TIMES AGAIN AND I EVEN DECIDED TO TRY AND DRIVE AND TURN THE LIGHTS ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE CAR STOPPED. WENT HOME STOPPED AT MY MAILBOX TO GET THE MAIL. TURNED CAR OFF, BACK ON, LIGHTS A FLASHING, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON, DROVE INTO MY DRIVEWAY. TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON A FEW MORE TIMES. FINALLY WAS WORKING OK. AND IT HAS BEEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS SINCE. AFRAID TO BE DRIVING THE CAR AT NIGHT THOUGH.
ON 01/10/17 AT 11656 MILES I REPORTED A BURNING SMELL PRESENT CONSISTENTLY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. LESTER GLENN MAZDA SAID THEY COULDN'T DETECT ANYTHING. I WENT FOR SERVICE 19MAY 18 AND WAS TOLD THAT MY REAR BRAKES WERE BAD. REPORT I HAVE FROM THAT SERVICE SHOWS RED FOR REAR AND GREEN FOR FRONT BRAKES AT 36865 MILES. 26 MAY 18 MAZDA LODI TOLD ME ALL 4 BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE BAD. I ASKED HOW THE FRONT BRAKES WERE BAD 1 WEEK AFTERLESTER GLENN TOLD ME THE FRONT BRAKES WERE GREEN. I WAS TOLD THAT MOST SHOPS HAVE INEXPERIENCED PEOPLE BUT LODI HAS ALL THEIR PEOPLE TRAINED AS MASTER TECHNICIANS. I WAS TOLD LESTER GLENN PROBABLY DIDN'T MEASURE. LODI SAID REARS WERE REALLY REALLY BAD AND THAT I SHOULD REPLACE ALL 4 BRAKES AND ROTORS AND ALL 4 TIRES FOR EVEN WEAR. I WAS TOLD CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE WORK. I GOT THE WORK DONE. REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED AT 37354 MILES. 24MAY19 I AM TOLD ALL BRAKES ARE GOOD. I CALL 06 JUN 19 AND COMPLAIN THAT I AM HEARING SQUEAKING. I CALL& I'M TOLD THAT IT'S PROBABLY NOTHING BUT BEST TO SEE IF IT PERSISTS.SOUND PERSISTS. I GO IN24 JUN19 AND COMPLAIN OF NOISE AND VIBRATION THROUGH STEERING WHEEL AND FLOOR BOARD. THE SERVICE MANAGER DRIVES THE CAR WITH ME AND HEARS THE SQUEAK FAINTLYBUT SAYS HE DOESN'T FEEL THE VIBRATION AND THAT THE BRAKES ARE WORKING WELL. I LET THEM CHECK AND AM TOLD THE LEFT REAR CALIPER IS SEIZED. THE CALIPER WENT THROUGH THE PAD TO THE ROTOR AND REAR PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. I AM STILL HEARING SQUEAKING AND I FEAR IT THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER SINCE IT WASN'T CHANGED. I'VE CHANGED MY REAR PADS AND ROTORS TWICE IN 1YR/20000 MI. I FOUND OUT MY CAR IS AFFECTED BY TSB R052/16C (04-001/18) AND 04-002/19. R052/16C RESULTED IN A PRODUCTION CHANGE IN REAR CALIPERS STARTING IN SEPTEMBER 9 2016. MAZDAUSA WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEIR DEALERS SHOULD HAVE REPLACED MY REAR CALIPERS OR THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE ISSUED A RECALL.
ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) CONTROL MODULE FAILURE: ON JUNE 19 AND 20 OF 2019 MY 2016 CX-5 WITH ONLY 18,000 MILES EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE FUNCTION. WHEN I WOULD LIFT THE EPB SWITCH TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE THE INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD START FLASHING AND A WARNING SIGN ((P!)) WOULD SHOW UP ON THE DASH DISPLAY. THE MAZDA DEALER DID A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND DETERMINED THE EPB CONTROL MODULE NEEDED REPLACING. $765 LATER I WAS BACK ON THE ROAD. *AS THIS APPEARS TO BE AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH 2016 CX-5S WITH VINS BELOW 781350 (SEE TSB 04-005/16 OF 08/05/2016 ATTACHED.) The contact owns a 2016 Mazda CX-5. The contact stated that upon depression of the brake pedal, the engine revved violently without warning. The contact would depress the brake pedal to the floorboard and place the vehicle into park(P) to prevent the vehicle from independently accelerating. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer and was informed that the air box was defective. The dealer repaired the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD US THEY HAVE SEEN A BUNCH OF THESE FAILURES ALREADY AND MAZDA WON'T COVER THEM. THEY DID STATE THAT MAZDA EVEN HAS A NEW REVISION OF THE LIGHT THAT FIXES ALL THE ISSUES, BUT THE PART AND LABOUR COST ABOUT 1000 DOLLARS PER LIGHT. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ON DRIVER'S SIDE WAS REPLACED IN DEC 2017 WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 14,000 MILES. NOW THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER'S IS BURNT OUT. THE DEALER WANTS $1,200 TO REPLACE IT. I THOUGHT LED IS SUPPOSED TO LAST "FOREVER". ALSO, THE AUTO BRIGHT DOESN'T WORK. DEALER WANTS TO $100 TO TROUBLESHOOT.

PASSENGER SIDE DAYLIGHT LED HEADLIGHT QUITE WORKING. THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. MAZDA IS IGNORING THIS ISSUE. HOWEVER THEY WILL GLADLY TAKE YOUR $1200 AND REPLACE THE LIGHT. THIS ISSUE SMELLS LIKE A MAZDA SCAM TO ME. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
