"TAKATA RECALL" THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS AND OTHER MAZDA CAR MODELS HAS GONE ON TOO LONG. AFTER RECEIVING NOTIFICATION IN JULY OF THIS YEAR, I WENT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED AIR BAG COMPLAINTS DATING BACK TO 2008!. THE FACT THAT MAZDA IGNORED THESE COMPLAINTS, WAITING MORE THAN EIGHT YEARS TO CONDUCT A MASSIVE AIR BAG RECALL IS UNTENABLE. THE ANXIETY PRODUCED BY DRIVING WITH FRONT-SEAT PASSENGERS IS A SERIOUS DISTRACTION FOR ANYONE WHO OWNS ONE OF THESE VEHICLES; FOLLOWING THE MANUFACTURER'S ADVICE TO DISALLOW FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS HAS BECOME AN INCONVENIENCE. FOR MANY DRIVERS, LOSS OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT AN OPTION ; THIS HAS GONE ON FOR TOO LONG WITHOUT NOTICE OF RESOLUTION BY MAZDA. I AM DEMANDING THAT MAZDA BEGIN REPLACING PASSENGER AIR BAGS IMMEDIATELY.

TAKATA RECALL- I'M IN ZONE B OF THE RECALL (WAS FIRST NOTIFIED IN JULY 2016). MY 2007 CAR IS NOW IN THE 10-15 YEAR WINDOW WHERE DEGRADATION IS PROJECTED TO OCCUR, SO I AM HESITANT TO DRIVE IT ANY LONGER SINCE I FREQUENT TRANSPORT MULTIPLE PASSENGERS. HOW DO I KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER THIS WILL TAKE? I HAVE TRIED TO CALL MAZDA'S HOTLINE, BUT THE WAIT TIME IS ALWAYS 45+ MINUTES. THERE HAVE BEEN NO UPDATES TO THE INFORMATION SINCE THE RECALL ON MAZDA'S RECALL INFO WEBSITE.

I RECEIVED THE PRIMARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFETY RECALL IN JULY 2016. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY MORE INFORMATION SINCE THEN, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR POPS IN THE DASHBOARD OFTEN AND I CANNOT TAKE MY CARE TO THE EMISSION TEST UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS CORRECTED.

I TOOK THE CAR IN THE HAVE THE AC COMPRESSOR REPLACED A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. JUNE 9 I LOST ALL COLD AIR AND DONE ACCELERATION. I THOUGHT THE TWO WERE RELATED BUT WE'RE NOT. MY CAR WOULD SOMETIMES DRIVE AS NORMAL AND OTHER TIMES UNEXPECTEDLY SLOW DOWN TO 25 MPH IN A 60 MPH ZONE AND I COULDN'T SPEED UP. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC. HE SAID THE TURBO WAS GOING OUT. THEN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THEN THE GASKET. IT'S HAD MULTIPLE OIL LEAKS. THIS CAR IS COSTING ME MORE THAN ITS WORTH.

THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V593000 (SUSPENSION) AND THE DEALER MADE NO MENTION OF THAT RECALL AND WHEN THE PARTS AND REMEDY MAY BE PROVIDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE ABLE TO SUPPLY A SOLUTION TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURES AS WELL AS THE REMEDY AND PARTS FOR THE TWO RECALL REPAIRS. TOOK MY CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. COMPUTER REGISTERS THAT THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH INTAKE BUT, ONCE REMOVED IT WORKS FINE. CHECKED EGR VENTILATION SYSTEM WORKS FINE. CAR STILL CUTS OUT DURING ACCELERATION. IDLES VERY HIGH HE INFORMED ME THAT THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH MY COMPUTER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. I NEED SOME INFORMATION PERTAINING TO MAZDA RECALL.

HI, WE BOUGHT MAZDA CX-7 GRAND TOURING [VIN# LAST 8 DIGITS: [XXX] USED CAR DURING OCT 2014 IN FREMONT. THE CAR HAD AROUND 84K MILES. WE SPENT AROUND $13K THINKING GOOD FIT FOR KIDS SCHOOL DROP IN SHORT DISTANCE. HARDLY USED < 9K MILES IN 2 YEARS. TIMELY SERVICE HAS BEEN DONE. HOWEVER, RECENTLY SEEING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WITH CODE P0303 [ENGINE-3] MISSFIRES. REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, PERFORM FLUID SYSTEM CLEANING, REPLACE THROTTLE BODY SPENDING CLOSE TO $1500+. CHECK ENGINE STILL STAYS ON EVEN AFTER THIS'. NOW FREMONT MAZDA DEALER RECOMMENDING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE [WHICH COSTS AROUND $9K]. LATER DID SOME STUDY ON WEB AND LEARNT THAT MAZDA CX-7 IS VERY WELL KNOWN FOR THIS ISSUES AND THAT IS THE REASON MAZDA HAS DISCONTINUED THE CX-7 MODEL KNOWING INTERNAL TURBO RELATED ISSUES. CUSTOMERS BUY CARS BASED ON SEARCH AND RELIABILITY CONSIDERING LONG TERM USAGE [LIKE OTHER CARS WHICH RUNS MORE THAN 150K MILES] AND NOT EXPECTED THIS. WE BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE AT A COST 9,000.00. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A MANUFACTURER DEFECTIVE. MY DAUGHTER AND HER CHILD COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED. PLEASE ASSIST.

THE DEALER IS FLAGSHIP MAZDA IN SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS AN IMPORTANT REPLACEMENT AND THAT PEOPLE HAD DIED FROM THIS ISSUE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT I'VE CALLED THREE TIMES IN ONE YEAR AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE DRIVING THE WHEEL AND STEERING BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. THE CAR WAS ONLY STOPPED BY A WALL ON THE HIGHWAY. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND HAD A HEART ATTACK DURING THIS INCIDENT WITH THE CAR. THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS DEPLOYED.

HOWEVER, I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN MAZDA CX-7. I HAVE ALWAYS PUT PREMIUM GAS IN MY VEHICLE, REGULAR OIL CHANGES, AND HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED AT A MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO MAKE SURE IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF PROPERLY. NONETHELESS, LAST WEEK I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHY? BECAUSE OF THE CONSISTENT PROBLEMS I SEEM TO FIND ONLINE. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND TURNING OUT OF A BUSINESS AND INTO TRAFFIC THE RIGHT, FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM SEPARATED FROM THE BALL JOINT CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR CX9'S AND I AM UNSURE WHY THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED IN THE CX7.
DECEMBER 2015 I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO A MAZDA DEALERSHIP (AAA SERVICE SAID TO DO SO BECAUSE OF THE NOISE AND FEAR THE VVT WOULD BREAK WHILE IN MOTION) TO REPLACE THE VVT (TIMING CHAIN) AND VALVE COVER GASKETS - PAYING OUT OF POCKET. AS OF TODAY, 2/12/16, THE SAME NOISE, BUT LOUDER, STILL OCCURS WHEN I START THE CAR AND DRIVE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND WAS ON WHEN I TOOK IT IN. NO MENTION OF WAS MADE. ALSO, WHEN I RECEIVED MY RECEIPT, THEY HAD THE MILEAGE WRONG BY 20,000 MILES (POTENTIALLY AFFECTING CARFAX REPORTS) , AND INDICATED ON THE SHEET THAT OTHER AREAS SUCH AS LIGHTS WERE FINE AND THEY WERE NOT. THEY DID MENTION THAT MY TURBO MAY NEED REPLACING SOON (ANOTHER CONSISTENT COMPLAINT). THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED IN NJ REGARDING THIS AND IT WAS THROWN OUT. WHY ISN'T THE GOVERNMENT DOING SOMETHING ABOUT ALL OF THESE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS? WHERE DO I GO SINCE I JUST DON'T TRUST MAZDA DEALERSHIPS?

WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO, THE VEHICLE A/C COMPRESSOR LOCKED UP CAUSING THE SERPENTINE BELT TO MELT AND BREAK. THIS RESULTED IN A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND MADE CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT, IF NOT DANGEROUS. BASED ON OTHER COMPLAINTS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON 2007-08 MAZDA CX-7 VEHICLES AND SO ABSOLUTELY BE A RECALL.

MAZDA IS AWARE THAT THE CX-7 IS A HORRIBLY MADE CAR WHICH CAN BE NOTED WITH THE EXTENSIVE LIST OF RECALLS WHICH THE COMPANY HAS PUT OUT SINCE ITS CREATION. ENGINE FAILURE BEING THE BIGGEST CONCERN TO THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. ENGINE FAILURE AT 70MPH ON A BUSY HIGHWAY CAN RESULT IN DEATH. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO HAVE MAZDA COMPENSATE ALL OWNERS FOR DEFECTICE VEHICLES. MY ENGINE FAILED AND MAZDA WAS OF NO HELP.
WHILE TURNING ONTO A MAIN ROAD EXISTING A PARKING LOT, I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE, ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD POP AND COULD NO LONGER STEER MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE SLOWED TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I CAREFULLY EXITED THE VEHICLE TO FIND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL SIDEWAYS. I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY VEHICLE FROM THE ROAD AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL MAZDA DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THE BALL JOINT HAD SEPARATED FROM THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAUSING $1,300 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO REPAIR THE AXLE SHAFT, LOWER CONTROL ARM, TIE ROD, SWAY BAR AND ALIGNMENT. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THE FRONT PASSENGER LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT WERE ALSO LOOSE AND IT WAS RECOMMEND THEY BE REPLACED, COSTING ME AN ADDITIONAL $500 IN REPAIRS. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM DEFECT I EXPERIENCED ON MY CX-7 IS THE SAME DEFECT AS THE MAZDA CX-9 RECALL (8515G). MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN MICHIGAN AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON MICHIGAN ROADS FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS. I BELIEVE THAT DRIVING ON MICHIGAN ROADWAYS DURING THE WINTER MONTHS FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS HAS LEAD TO ROADWAY SALTS AND WATER INTRUSION INTO THE BALL JOINT, CAUSING CORROSION, WHICH RESULTED IN LOOSENESS OF BOTH FRONT BALL JOINTS. AS A RESULT OF THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT AND LOWER CONTROL ARM SEPARATING, MY VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND CAUSED A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK. THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A CAR THAT IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD. HAD THE CURRENT CX-9 LOWER CONTROL ARM RECALL APPLIED TO THE CX-7, MY CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED PRIOR TO BREAKING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. I BELIEVE THIS DEFECT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS IT POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK TO ALL OTHER CX-7 VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAY. IT IS MY RECOMMENDATION TO EXTEND THE CURRENT CX-9 RECALL TO ALL CX-7 VEHICLES.
