I PURCHASED A 2008 MADZA 6 IN MARCH OF 2009 AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SAFETY BELT WOULD LOCK INTERMITTENTLY. IN JUNE 2009 MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR BACK TO SESI MOTORS AND ADVISED THEM OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT. HOWEVER ON APRIL 7, 2010 MY HUSBAND AND SON WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND MY SON HAD ON HIS SEATBELT HOWEVER HIS HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT TO TAKE OFF THE SEATBELT IT WAS NOT FASTENED THE LOCK DID NOT HOLD CAUSING MY SONS HEAD TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD. HE SUSTAINED INJURIES HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES BEFORE EMS GOT TO HIM AND HE HAD A CONCUSSION. MY SON IS NOW COMPLAINING OF HEADACHES, BACK ACHES AND NECK PAINS. *TR
NOVEMBER , 17 , 2009 - CAR LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ,AND CAME TO A STOP ON THE ROAD.CAR TOWED IN AT COMPASS MAZDA IN MIDDLETOWN,NY. AFTER ONE DAY OF SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP ,CAR STARTED BY ITSELF . PAID $ 48.00 FOR DIAGNOSIS. JANUARY, 1, 2010 - CAR DID NOT START . CAR TOWED IN AT MAZDA PALISADES IN WEST NYACK,NY. AGAIN , CAR STARTED AT THE DEALERSHIP AFTER SITTING FOR A DAY. JANUARY , 8, 2010 - CAR DID NOT START . MAZDA PALISADES IN WEST NYACK DID NOT ACCEPT THE CAR TO BE TOWED IN STATING THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A TRAINED MAZDA MECHANIC . IN THIS SITUATION , THE CAR WAS TOWED IN AT COMPASS MAZDA IN MIDDLETOWN , NY . TOW SERVICE $ 150.00 . AT FAULT WAS A POOR / LOOSE CONNECTION ( GROUND WIRE ) . COST OF REPARATION : $ 378.44. JANUARY , 29 , 2010 . CAR LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AND CAME TO A STOP ON THE ROAD . CAR TOWED IN AT COMPASS MAZDA IN MIDDLETOWN , NY . FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPLACED . THIS TIME THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR THE REPAIR . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MAZDA MAZDA6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A YELLOW SPIDER COMING FROM THE VENT AREA ONTO THE CARPET. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD NOTICED SPIDERS IN THIS AREA SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V134000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY) WHICH STATED THAT A CERTAIN TYPE OF SPIDER COULD WEAVE A WEB IN THE EVAPORATIVE CANISTER VENT LINE AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE A RESTRICTION IN THE LINE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR THE 2009-2010 MODEL MAZDA6. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
MY CLUTCH STARTED TO GET STIFF AND I COULDN'T PUSH IT. EVENTUALLY THE CLUTCH PLATE FELL APART AND THE FELL THROUGH THE BODY OF THE CAR. THEN THAT CLUTCH PLATE FELL APART. THEN I GOT A WHOLE NEW CLUTCH ON 6/7/2013 AND IT FELT BAD BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID "IT'S A SELF-ADJUSTING CLUTCH, IT WILL LOOSEN UP OVER TIME." THEN IN MAY 2014, THE NOISE CAME BACK AND I COULD BARELY PUSH THE CLUTCH PEDDLE AGAIN SO I TOOK IT AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED A CLUTCH MASTER AND A CLUTCH SLAVE BUT IT MADE IT WORSE AND THE CAR MADE A HORRIBLE SOUND AFTER THEY PUT THOSE PARTS IN, SO THEY SAID THE ENTIRE CLUTCH WAS BAD AND THEY'D REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE NOISE DIDN'T GO AWAY SO THEY SAID I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. THEIR FAULTY CLUTCH BLEW UP MY ENTIRE ENGINE BECAUSE THE GEARS WERE SLIPPING. SO A GREAT CAR HAD A BLOWN ENGINE BECAUSE OF A FAULTY CLUTCH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN COMING TO A STOP AFTER DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,948. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,243.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MAZDA 6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 68 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO ACTIVATE. THE FAILURE CAUSED POOR VISIBILTY AND OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. DUE TO MASSIVE RAIN CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 6,900.
I ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED THE MOONROOF CONTROLS ON MY CAR AND THIS BLEW A FUSE WHICH WAS ALSO CONNECTED TO THE HEAT, CAUSING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS (NONE OF MY WINDOWS DEFROSTED). THEY SAID THE MOONROOF WAS FROZEN SHUT AND BY ME TOUCHING THE CONTROL IT OVERLOADED THE FUSE. WHEN I WENT TO WALSER MAZDA IN BURNSVILLE THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD SEEN 3 OF THESE SAME INCIDENTS IN ONE WEEK. BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS JUST A FUSE AT THE TIME I WAS UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *TR
2008 MAZDA 6 WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES. STARTER CAUGHT ON FIRE, DEALER SAID RODENT CHEWED WIRE. NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. MY INSURANCE HAD TO PAY. PICTURES TAKEN AND MY AGENT INSURED ME WHEN HE FILED WITH MAZDA THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS. TODAY 11/11/08 CLAIM DENIED MAZDA SAID ITS NOT THEIR FAULT. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. *TR
1. THERE WAS NO WARNING TO THIS FAILURE, I WAS ON A MOTORWAY (U.K) I CHECK MY OIL LEVELS EVERY SINGLE WEEK 2. I HAD AN ENGINE OVER-RUN AND COULD ONLY BE STOPPED BY SWITCHING THE ENGINE OFF, THE REV COUNTER HIT MAXIMUM AND A HUGE CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE WAS LEFT BEHIND ME. CONSEQUENCES ARE NOW I AM LEFT WITHOUT A CAR AND I COULD HAVE DIED BECAUSE I WAS APPROACHING A ROUNDABOUT 700 YARDS AWAY AND SWERVED BETWEEN 2 LANES OF MOVING TRAFFIC TO FORCE A STOP ON A LAY-BY. 3. NOTHING WAS DONE, MAZDA ARE BLAMING ME FOR THE INCIDENT EVEN AFTER I HAD MY OIL CHECKED AND RESULTS SHOWN A 62% DIESEL OIL CONTAMINATION, THEY BLAME THE DPF (DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER) FOR THIS OVER-RUN AS I AM NOT DOING ENOUGH "LONG JOURNEY" MILES. WHICH I WAS, NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED BEFORE OR AFTER THE INCIDENT AND THE OIL LEVELS ARE DRAMATICALLY ABOVE THE FULL MARK. NO FAULT CODES ARE SHOWN ON MAZDA COMPUTER. MY CAR IS SITTING USELESS ON MY DRIVE AS WE ARE ALL TO SCARED TO DRIVE IT. *TR
THE CAR WOULD MAKE HORRIBLE SOUNDS WHEN I WAS TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AND WOULD PULL ME TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT WITHOUT ME BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. A NEW STEERING COLUMN WAS PUT IN BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT TOM WOOD MAZDA (HE NOW WORKS AT TOM WOOD FORD) SAID THE CAR WAS DESIGNED TO PULL ME OFF THE HIGHWAY OR ROAD IN CASE I PASSED OUT AT THE WHEEL. THEN A NEW DEALERSHIP BOUGHT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED MY STEERING COLUMN. MY STEERING WHEEL WAS NEVER STRAIGHT, BUT THE CAR WAS NOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT ON A MACHINE. *TR
WHEN I PURCHASE MY NEW MAZDA 6, IT WAS DETERMINED ON A COMPUTER THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS CROOKED, BUT THE CAR WAS NOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THEN THE CAR STARTED PULLING HARD TO THE RIGHT. THEN THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED CLUNKING WHEN I WAS TURNING EITHER WAY. AFTER MANY TRIPS TO THE SERVICE DEPT, A NEW STEERING COLUMN WAS PUT IN. THE CLUNKING STOPPED, BUT THE CAR WOULD STILL PULL HARD TO THE RIGHT, AND EVERY TIME I GOT NEW TIRES OR ROTATED THE TIRES, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BE CROOKED AGAIN, BUT NOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THE CLUNKING STARTED AGAIN, AND APPEARS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, BUT MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY NOW AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS CHANGED OWNERS 3 TIMES. I FEEL MY CAR WAS A LEMON AND I COULD NOT GET HELP BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP KEPT BEING SOLD. I FEEL I AM DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR. I HAVE NEVER KNOWN ANYONE WHO HAD TO HAVE A STEERING COLUMN REPLACED. I AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR IS GOING TO PULL ME OFF THE ROAD INTO A TREE. IT IS A 5-SPEED SO 1 HAND IS OFF THE STEERING WHEEL FREQUENTLY. I NEED HELP FROM MAZDA TO HELP ME CURE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I AM SO FRUSTRATED IN DEALING WITH THE DEALERSHIPS. I AM AFRAID THAT I AM GOING TO KILLED IN THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE STEERING ISSUE THAT IS UNRESOLVED. *TR
