My car had a air bag recal and a subframe and other misc recalls so I contacted the dealership near me which was In Springfield Mo and set a apt and had it replaced then got a call the next day saying they wuld meet me half way with a loaner car which was in Mansfield mo for the subframe replacement and they have had it for over a month and they called and told me it was ready for pick up 6/21/21 and I drove up there Wed to pick it up and it wuldnt start wuldnt do nothing dead battery. Dealership then hooked up a jump box the gauges started jumping all back and fourth like something was shorted or a short some were got it started and the min the jump box turned off the it killed all power the car shut completly off to nothing. So they gave me the loner vehical back and they drove me my car to west plains mo and they took the loner vehical and I got in my car and the air bag light is flashing very fast constly the steering is super tight and the brakes feel weird the passenger side is missing a piece in the dash only lights that was on my car when they picked it up was the tire sensor light and the check engine light got pics to prove and show everything.. I’m driving it back to dealership to see if they can fix or make it right and give me the loner vehical back till they get my car back to the condition it was in when they picked it up for a recall repair..
THE OTHER DAY WENT TO DRIVE THE CAR WOULD NOT START. NO ACC ON REMOTE START BUTTON, KEY IN IGNITION, STILL WOULD NOT START. CHECKED ALL FUSES, THE BATTERY. TOOK DASH APART, REMOVED STEREO, CHECKED ALL WIRING HARNESSES ALL TESTED GOOD. HAD IT TOWED UP TO OLYMPIA MAZDA. THEY ARE CURRENTLY TROUBLESHOOTING. RECALLED AIRBAG WAS SWITCHED OUT A FEW YEARS AGO AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME BACK ON ABOUT A YEAR LATER. POSSIBLY THE CAR THINKS THERE HAS BEEN AN COLLISON AND THE CAR IS IN LOCKDOWN MODE. TECHNICIAN WAS COMPLETELY BAFFLED. WILL CALL THEM TOMORROW AND ASK THEM TO CHECK THE ECM, BCM OR WHAT NOT. OTHER THAN THIS. HAVE NEVER HAD AN MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. WOULD PURCHASE AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA MAZDA6. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS CORRODED. THE CONTACT CALLED SOUTH BURLINGTON MAZDA (1795 SHELBURNE RD, SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT 05403, 802- 660-6900) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V631000 (SUSPENSION, STRUCTURE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.
I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT MY DASHBOARD HAS BECOME CRACKED AND VERY STICKY . I DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED WHEN I CONTACTED MAZDA TO GET IT FIXED I WAS TOLD THEY CAN NOT REPLACE THAT PART . I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO I FEEL STUCK I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS CAR

HELLO, BACK A FEW YEARS AGO MAZDA ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE FRONT SUBFRAME OF OUR MAZDA 6 DUE TO PREMATURE AND EXTREMELY DAMAGING RUST THAT RENDERED THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS. WE HAD THIS REPLACED AND ALL WAS FINE UNTIL NOT THAT LONG AGO WHEN WE HAD TO REPAIR AN EXHAUST LEAK AND IN THE PROCESS REALIZED HOW BAD THE REAR SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT AS WELL... I'VE NOTICED THE BACK WHEELS OF OUR CAR HAVE BEEN CAMBERED OUT BY A FEW DEGREES FOR A FEW MONTHS AND I'M PRETTY SURE THIS IS DUE TO THE REAR SUSPENSION AND REAR SUBFRAME COMPONENTS COLLAPSING ON THEMSELVES DUE TO THE RUST WEAKENING THE METAL. I HAVE SOME PICTURES WHICH I WILL ATTACH. MAZDA CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS PART BUT WE WOULD, AND MANY OTHER MAZDA OWNERS OUT THERE ON THE FORUMS WOULD LIKE A RECALL TO BE ISSUED DUE TO THE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE NATURE OF THE SUBFRAME REPAIR... HELLO, I PURCHASED MY A MAZDA FROM A MAZDA DEALER IN MY AREA. AT THE TIME OF MY CAR PURCHASE IN 2017, THEY CHOSE NOT TO FIX THE DASHBOARD RECALL BEFORE SELLING ME THE CAR. NOW DURING SUMMER 2020 MY DASHBOARD HAS SHOWN TO BECOME STICKY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT IS NOW STARTING TO OBSTRUCT MY VIEW WITH A GLARE, MAKING IT HARDER FOR ME TO SEE OUT OF MY WINDSHIELD. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SAYING THE RECALL IS CLOSED AND THEY CAN'T HELP ME. I EVEN CALLED THE MAZDA CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND THEY SHUT ME DOWN. THEY SAID THAT THE PROBLEM MUST HAVE OCCURRED WITHIN 10 YEARS OF THE CARS PRODUCTION. THIS HAPPENED TO ME A FEW DAYS AGO AND NOW IS GETTING WORSE. THEY WOULD NOT HAVE FIXED THE DASHBOARD WITHIN THE TIME FRAME BECAUSE IT SHOWED NO DAMAGE UNTIL NOW. PLEASE HELP AND MAKE THEM PAY FOR MY DASHBOARD! IT IS UNETHICAL TO HAVE ME PAY FOR A DESIGN AND SAFETY FLAW OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. ESPECIALLY ONE THEY FAILED TO TELL ME ABOUT OR FIX BEFORE THEY SOLD ME THE CAR.
MY CAR STEERING VEERS TO THE LEFT CONSTANTLY. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS WIRED WRONG AND DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY.THIS HAPPENS WHILE I'M DRIVING ALL THE TIME AND ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT CAUSES ME TO WRECK.
I BOUGHT A USED CAR FROM A SMALL DEALERSHIP, THEY SOLD ME THE CAR WITHOUT A DASH HARNESS, ALL THE WIRING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER IN MY CAR IS NOT THERE, SO I CAN'T DO SMOG CHECK. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT CHECK WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON BECAUSE THE COMPUTER IN MY CAR WAS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE TOOL. SOLD ME THE CAR WITH AIRBAGS NOT WORKING. LIED ABOUT HAVING IT ALL CHECKED OUT. AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY TITLE, REGISTRATION, AND PLATES TO MY CAR.
THE CAR HAS ONLY 31,000 ORIGINAL MILES AND I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE ENTIRE REAR SUBFRAME AND SUSPENSION ASSY IS HEAVILY RUSTED AND SUSPENSION BUSHINGS ARE ROTTING.THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG OWNERS IN NORTH EASTERN STATES AND MID ATLANTIC. MAZDA RECALLED THE FRONT SUBFRAMES BUT NOT THE REAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY DEFECT AND WILL RESULT IN THE CAR HAVING TO BE SCRAPPED BEFORE IT ACCUMULATES MANY MORE MILES.
FOR THE LAST YEAR, THE CAR ALARM IN MY 2009 MAZDA 6 HAS BEEN GOING OFF SPORADICALLY BY ITSELF AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY WHILE PARKED IN MY APARTMENT BUILDING PARKING LOT. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS, AND A FEW WEEKS LATER THE ALARM WENT OFF AGAIN AT 3:30 AM, WAKING UP ALL OF MY NEIGHBORS IN THE PROCESS. BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND NOW THEY SAY IT'S THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR. THERE ARE SO MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET OF OTHER MAZDA OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT THERE FOR IT. WHY HAS BEEN THIS NOT BECOME A RECALL YET?
ON JANUARY 25, 2014, I HAD MY CAR SERVICE AT A S. FLORIDA MAZDA DEALERSHIP FOR A 2013 RECALL ON THE DOOR LATCH MOUNTING SCREWS. THE RECALL STATED THAT THE SCREWS MAY BECOME LOOSE. IF ALL THREE DOOR LATCH MOUNTING SCREWS BECOME LOOSE AND FALL OUT, THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE. CURRENTLY, I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY DOORS AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATING. IN ADDITION, DUE TO THIS ISSUE, MY BATTERY THAT I HAD REPLACED IN MAY 2020 DOES NOT WORK. MY CAR DID NOT START. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST MAZDA DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT TOLD ME THAT MY DOOR LATCH ON 2 DOORS HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE MY CAR THINKS THE DOOR IS AJAR AND THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DRAIN EVEN WITH THE CAR TURNED OFF. IT SOUNDS LIKE THESE ISSUES COULD BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE 2013 RECALL. FURTHERMORE, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR ALARM GOES OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND THE TECHNICIAN ATTRIBUTED THIS TO THE DOOR LATCH ISSUE. SO ALL OF THE ABOVE ISSUES CAN BE TRACED BACK TO THE 2013 RECALL ON DOOR LATCHES. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT ON THE DOOR LATCHES. THEREFORE, THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS WITHOUT CHARGE TO ME. RIGHT NOW, MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 1 WEEK AND 2 DAYS.

AFTER I AM ABLT TO START ENGINE BUT CAR WON'T DRIVE IN D MODE BUT R CAN WORK WITH JERK AND HORSE POWER GO UP TO 5000 UP. SO I AM GOING TO SEE WITH HAYES MAZDA IN KALAMAZOO. THEREFORE, PLEASE TAKE A SERIOUS ACTION OR INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER
THE DASH MATERIAL ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN DETERIORATING AND MELTING AS IF A CHEMICAL REACTION HAS OCCURRED. THIS WINTER THE SECTION IN QUESTION HAS GENERATED SEVERAL CRACKS AND FISSURES IN THE SURFACE.
CAR AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING ON DASH INDICATING NEED FOR REPAIR, TOOK TO LOT A I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM WHO REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, STILL HAVE FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT AND AM CONCERNED NOW AIRBAG WILL NOT INFLATE IN AN EMERGENCY AND THAT MY MAZDA 6 WAS OVERLOOKED DURING INITIAL RECALLS FOR OTHER MAZDA 6 OF THIS GENERATION AS IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH IT THAT ARE LISTED AS RECALLS FOR OTHERS.
DOOR LATCH STICKS WHEN OPENING, CAUSING DOOR TO POSSIBLY STAY OPEN UNBEKNOWNST TO DRIVER AND CAUSE DOOR TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND POSSIBLY EJECT NON SECURED PERSONS OR OBJECTS IN CAR. FOUND OUT DURING OPERATION WHEN THE DOOR NEXT TO MY TODDLER SWUNG OPENED IN A TURN.
ENGINE SURGES WHEN I BRAKE, BUT NOT ALWAYS. USUALLY IT IS WHEN I'M GOING STRAIGHT AHEAD, HOWEVER, IT HAS DONE IT IN A TURN AND ONCE BACKING UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY, AND AFTER I HAD THROTTLE BODY CLEANING DONE TWO WEEKS AGO.
THIS VEHICLE HAD THE FRONT SUB-FRAME REPLACED BASED ON NHTSA COMPLAINT 11100333 AND THE SUBSEQUENT RECALL FROM MAZDA WITH NHTSA ID 18V-631. IT IS NOW TWO YEARS LATER AND THE REAR SUB-FRAME WAS SO ROTTED THAT IT WAS FALLING APART. MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT PASS THE STATE SAFETY INSPECTION WITHOUT IT BEING FIXED. IT WAS REPAIRED BY A NON-DEALER MECHANIC IN FEB 2020. THE MECHANIC TRIED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET A NEW REAR SUB-FRAME BUT COULD NOT BECAUSE IT IS ON MANUFACTURER BACK-ORDER. SINCE THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I NEEDED IT TO BE FIXED ASAP, A USED SUB-FRAME HAD TO BE INSTALLED. BECAUSE THE NEW PART WAS UNAVAILABLE THIS MAKES ME THINK THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AND THE MANUFACTURER CAN'T KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND. I WAS TOLD BY A MAZDA DEALER THAT THE REAR SUB-FRAME IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SAME RECALL AS THE FRONT. BOTH ITEMS WERE MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME TIME USING THE SAME INFERIOR STEEL SO I THINK THIS SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED. I DEFINITELY FEEL THAT ANOTHER MAZDA RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THE REAR SUB-FRAME.*DT *AS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA 6. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS PLACING AIR INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE, HE FOUND THAT THE VALVE STEM WAS CORRODED AND FRACTURED. IN ADDITION, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEAN PATTERSON CHEVROLET CADILLAC (101 PLEASANT VALLEY BLVD, ALTOONA, PA 16602, (814) 942-2222) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR AND VALVE STEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE TECHNICIAN AT WHALING CITY FORD LINCOLN MAZDA (475 BROAD ST, NEW LONDON, CT 06320, (860) 333-1841) NOTICED THAT THE REAR SUBFRAME HAD SEVERE CORROSION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER DEEMED THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FRONT END SUBFRAME WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE REAR SUBFRAME WAS NOT. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V631000 (SUSPENSION, STRUCTURE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000. *LN *JB
WHILE PULLING DOWN MY STREET AFTER BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR THAT WAS NOT NORMAL. IT WAS MORE EVIDENT GOING OVER BUMPS. MY CAR WAS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE ANYWAY SO I WENT TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND ASKED THEM TO INVESTIGATE. THE REAR CROSS MEMBER IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING A NEARLY CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE RIGHT REAR SECTION, INCLUDING A PIECE THAT RUSTED OFF AND IS FLOATING WITHIN THE SPRING. MAZDA DID ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS VERY ISSUE, BUT IT ONLY COVERS THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER, WHICH IS ABSURD. I CALLED MAZDA TO CONFIRM THAT THE RECALL DOESN'T APPLY TO THE REAR, AND JOSE, THE REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE TO BY PHONE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT DOES NOT. I AM IN A RUST BELT STATE, AND IF SALT CAN AFFECT THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER, OBVIOUSLY IT CAN AFFECT THE REAR IN THE SAME NEGATIVE FASHION. JUST BECAUSE THE REAR DOESN'T TURN THE CAR, DOESN'T MEAN IT POSES LESS OF A DANGER AS EVIDENCED BY MY VEHICLE.
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS GO BAD ON THIS CAR WHICH CAUSES THE CAR TO BELIEVE ONE OF THE DOORS IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT. THE DOME LIGHTS ARE DRIVEN BY THE DOOR ACTUATORS SENSING THAT A DOOR IS OPEN, SO WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL FLASH ON AND OFF. VERY DISTRACTING, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THE LIGHTS TURNING ON AND OFF ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN, I HAVE NOT NOTICED IT WHEN STATIONARY. USUALLY IT OCCURS DURING TURNS AND THE LIGHTS STAY ON FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE DOOR ACTUATORS ARE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS CAR AND HAS MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ONLINE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. THE DOOR ACTUATOR BEING FAULTY ALSO CAUSES THE SECURITY ALARM TO GO OFF AND START SOUNDING THE CAR'S HORN SPORADICALLY. THE CAR WILL BE PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY WITH NOBODY AROUND THROUGH ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND IT WILL GO OFF. ALTHOUGH NOT A SAFETY CONCERN LIKE THE PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS, IT IS STILL SYMPTOMATIC OF THE MALFUNCTIONING DOOR ACTUATORS.
MY MAZDA 6 STARTED OVERHEATING DURING A HEAVY TRAFFIC DAY. EVER SINCE, I NOTICED IT WOULD ONLY START OVER HEATING ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS IDLE AT A LIGHT, TRAFFIC, OR PARKED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN SLOWLY START CREEPING UP. IF I GIVE IT SOME RPM, THE GAUGE COMES BACK TO NORMAL READING. *ADDITIONAL INFO - HEATER ONLY WORKS WHEN RIDING - I HAVE TO ADD A BIT OF COOLANT EVERYDAY - CHANGED THERMOSTAT, FAN CONTROL MODULE AND FANS WORK WELL.

WHILE DRIVING DURING THE DAY TIME, THE SUN REFLECTED ONTO THE DASHBOARD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEAN PATTERSON MAZDA (101 PLEASANT VALLEY BLVD, ALTOONA, PA) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING MY CAR TO WORK AND THE STEERING RACK WENT OUT OF IT THE CAR ONLY HAS 116,000 MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. PASSENGER SIDE DASH BOARD IS STICKY AND SHINY. IF THE SUNLIGHT HITS ON THE SHINY SPOTS IT CREATES A GLARE THAT IS DISTRACTING, ESPECIALLY IF DRIVING. THEY SAID THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL ON THE DASH BOARD, BUT SEVERAL WEBSITES SAY THAT THERE WAS A RECALL. REPRESENTATIVE FOR MAZDA SAID THAT AT THE TIME I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN 2017 TO FIX OTHER RECALLS MY DASH BOARD WAS INSPECTED AND SHOWED NO ISSUES SO IT WASN'T REPLACED. SO NOW FOR MY DASH BOARD REPLACEMENT TO BE CONSIDERED I MUST TAKE MY VEHICLE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE AND I MUST PAY. REPRESENTATIVE ALSO SAYS THAT A REPLACEMENT WAS HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVED, THE DEALER WOULD EMAIL HER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED. THE CONTACT HAD YET TO RECEIVE A NOTIFICATION TO HAVE THE RECALL REMEDIED. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AS WELL AS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I BROUGHT MY 2009 MAZDA6 IN FOR THE RECALLED FRONT CROSS MEMBER CORROSION SAFETY RECALL. AFTER AN INSPECTION I WAS TOLD IT QUALIFIED FOR A REPLACEMENT. I AUTHORIZED THE WORK AND PICKED THE CAR UP A FEW DAYS LATER. WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE NORMAL MAINTENANCE SHEET. AFTER DRIVING THE CAR THE NEXT FEW DAYS THE AT (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) LIGHT CAME ON AND TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP. WE SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WITH 3 QUARTS AND FOUND DAMAGE AND LEAK JUST ABOVE THE CROSS MEMBER RECALL REPAIR. WE RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED MAZDA CUSTOMER CARE. WALSER MAZDA OF BURNSVILLE SAID THE TRANSMISSION LINE HAS RUSTED AND REPAIR COSTS WOULD BE AROUND $400. I SAID THE DAMAGE TO THE LINE WAS WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WAS DONE. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN LESS THAN 250 MILES SINCE THE REPAIR AND LEAKED OUT 3 QUARTS OF FLUID. I BELIEVE THE SHARP EDGE OF THE CROSS MEMBER DAMAGED THE TRANSMISSION LINE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WAS DONE. THIS REPORT IS CONCERNING A DEALER, MATT CASTRUCCI MAZDA, IN DAYTON, OHIO. THIS DEALER FAILED TO OFFER US, THE CUSTOMER, AN APPOINTMENT TO INSPECT OUR VEHICLE FOR SAFETY DUE TO THE RECALL ON MAZDA 6S FOR THE SUSPENSION, STRUCTURE RECALL. WE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES FROM THE DATE OF RECEIVING THE RECALL UNTIL FINALLY WE CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY HAD THE PARTS. WE SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT. WHEN WE ARRIVED, THEY STATED THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS BUT WE HAD A FEW OTHER THINGS FOR THEM TO LOOK AT SO THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE. THEY DID THEN INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND FOUND IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE ARE VERY UPSET THAT OUR SON WAS DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND BELIEVE THAT IT WAS THE DEALER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE RECOMMENDED TO US THAT WE BRING IT IN FOR INSPECTION THE FIRST TIME WE CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT AND THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. I ASKED THE DEALER TO FOREGO A CHARGE FOR A TEST THEY PERFORMED REGARDING A TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT AS CONSIDERATION FOR THEIR MISHANDLING OF THE SITUATION, FOR WHICH THEY REFUSED, REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO INSPECT OUR VEHICLE THE FIRST TIME WE CALLED TO PRECLUDE A CUSTOMER DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT I HAD A TIRE GOING DOWN SO I PULLED OVER TO INSPECT MY TIRES AND FOUND NOTHING SO I GOT BACK IN MY CAR AND MADE A TURN BACK ON THE ROAD AND I KNEW RIGHT AWAY SOMETHING WAS TERRIBLY WRONG AS IT FELT LIKE I WAS ON A SHEET OF ICE. I PULLED OVER AND CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. UPON INSPECTION AT MY REPAIR SHOP THEY FOUND MY SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED OUT.

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE COULD BE REIMBURSED IF SHE GOT THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.

THIS IS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WITH NO WARNING. FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO GET VEHICLE TO AUTO REPAIR CENTER WITHOUT GETTING INTO ACCIDENT. AUTO REPAIR FACILITY EXAMINED VEHICLE AND SHOWED ME THAT ENGINE CRADLE - SUBFRAME HAD RUSTED THOUGHT AND BROKE. THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO GO OFF CENTER WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKING, STEERING, AND SUSPENSION ISSUES. AUTO REPAIR FACILITY TOLD ME THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND MADE ME SIGN A WAIVER TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE.
I BRAKED QUICKLY FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE CAR SKIDDED AND VEERED VIOLENTLY TO THE RIGHT. WHEN I ACCELERATED FROM THE LIGHT, I HAD TO HOLD ONTO THE WHEEL TIGHTLY TO KEEP THE CAR ON THE ROAD. I GOT IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THAT THE SUBFRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH AND BROKE. I WAS SHOCKED AS THE BODY HAS NO RUST. I HAVE ALWAYS KEEP THE CAR VERY CLEAN AND MAINTAINED. IN FACT, I HAD THE UNDER BODY RUST PROOFED WHEN I PURCHASED IN 2009. I HAD TO REMOVE THE CAR FROM THE ROAD AS IT WAS UNDRIVABLE. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 55, I WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN FATAL ACCIDENT.

I AM THANKFUL THAT THIS WAS DISCOVERED BEFORE A MAJOR MALFUNCTION WHICH COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. FROM READING THE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM ON THIS WEBSITE, I HOPE THAT MADZA WILL ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.
